Like come on let’s pick an angle and focus on that. Economic. Political. Social. Moral. Religious. Not everything at once. It was painful.
Not sure how he made Nazi’s boring but man he really did. And he tried to say that anyone could have replaced Hitler and the Nazi party still could have risen and done what it did. Which is… a wild statement. Maybe Goebbels, maybe, but no one else could have had the same cult leader effect on the Nazi party and done what Hitler did. Just. A wild take.
He put down my bro Shirer and he really should not have done that because Rise and Fall was a much better book in that a) I did not fall asleep and b) it was much more entertaining and didn’t feel like it needed to tell me literally every single fact. (Although this book didn’t have all the gross homophobia)
I will absolutely not be continuing this series. That was miserable. ...more
