TJ Klune simply blows me away! I loved this dark and twisted sequel in his dystopian series, Immemorial Year. After laying the groundwork in the first book, this one was much easier to get into. Here, I became truly invested in our MCs, James and Lucas. Their unique, near violent relationship truly turned into something precious. I also became more attuned to Klune's writing style in this series and appreciated how it reflected not only the madness within the narrator's head, but that of the world In which the lived.
This is not a light read, but it is a very worthy read for any fan of dystopian fiction, or for any fan of finding friendship and love in the most adverse of conditions.
I cannot wait for this story to continue, for it is not done.

This was simply a delight to read and listen to. I absolutely loved Mal, our thief familiar with a heart of gold. OweAnother fantastic Hexworld Novel!
This was simply a delight to read and listen to. I absolutely loved Mal, our thief familiar with a heart of gold. Owen, the hex maker working for the MWP, was interesting in his own, stodgy way. Most interesting was how he loved to submit in the bedroom.
I did find his strict adherence to familial and societal duty overwhelming. It was the one aspect of the novel that detracted from my connection to him as a character. I wanted him to completely give in to Mal, not just in the bedroom. Of course, if he had, wed have seen much less of a conflict and dramatic climax to the story.
This was another mystery that proved hard to unravel completely until the very end. I cannot wait to read the next book in the series!

I'm couldn't put this book down! I read it in one sitting. No, it wasn't perfect, but the story just pulled me in as did the characters. I wasn't sure what was going to happen and how the characters would react--and this is why I love reading. I don't want a predictable story (ok, aside from the HFN/HEA), I don't want to know how we're getting to our destination, and I want to enjoy the trip. This book did this.
It made me laugh, and think, and cry, and rejoice. It's not dark, nor angsty even though it deals with a ghost setting things to rights. This is a love story.
The two MCs have lovely chemistry together, and I liked the pace at which their ethereal connection grew over time.

This book, this series is like no other. In MM science fiction I have read no better book than this.

This book, this series is like no other. In MM science fiction I have read no better book than this.
This is the second book in the series, aside from the prequel. What I liked most about this one was that the main POV was Ondry’s. I enjoyed reading how he regarded his palteia , Liam, from a Rownt perspective.
Things have settled in their lives. They are trading well and enjoying their time together in the nest. They can pleasure each other in different ways, to the satisfaction of both.
Unfortunately, distress comes to Liam in the form of a new human trader. Neither Ondry nor Liam trust her, but they agree to engage in trade with her.
So, here would be the spoiler part of the story were I to continue, but, that’s not how I roll. Suffice it to say, a journey endangers all their lives and leads to a new world of trading opportunities for Ondry and Liam. Change is coming!
And can I just say how adorable and sexy these two are together? I need to read the next book NOW!

I had no idea what this book was about other than it involved tentacle sex. That’s it. I didn’t even read the blurb. I saw the tentacle, took the recommendation from my friend, Michaelle (*squishy hugs*), and dove in.
In my head, I’m thinking “romance.” All extra prehensile appendages are a serious BONUS in my book. Come on! Who wouldn’t want a prehensile something or other that knew just where to rub you the right way. IKR? If you don’t think that’s the coolest thing ever, you probably shouldn’t read this book. I mean, there is even tentacle sounding!! It’s not often you come upon sounding scenes; but tentacle ones? Oh yeah!
So, tentacles in every bodily orifice should equal love and romance in my book of kink. But nooooooooo. M. Caspian does a nice twist and flip here. Tentacles equal pain and possession. What we have here, is NOT a very talented, hot cephalopod shifter. No indeed. What we have is a freaking, creepy monster!
So, all of you that are thinking tentacles “ewwwww”, see, that’s what you get for reading tentacle porn, Eugenia....a monster all up in your goodies. Ya, well, so be it. It was hot, HOT, HOT, SUCKER HOT, until it wasn’t and creeped the bleep out of me!
Let’s get back to that romance thing. There’s a fake one (induced by tentacle drug juice—yes, it’s a thing); and there’s a real one that’s real. Wanna know which of these two romances survives to the end?
Read the book. It’s confusing as all get up at first! But there is reason to the madness, trust me!

This was a sweet and funny novella set in a world where vampires are out and the only the only thing special about them iFunny and Sexy!! 3.5 Stars!!!
This was a sweet and funny novella set in a world where vampires are out and the only the only thing special about them is their immortality. And, of course, their need for blood.
Greg, an always 24 year old vampire, works a depressing and stressful job as a software engineer. He is not a happy man. When we meet him, he's hangry and bemoaning his fate and lack of blood at the office. In walks hottie programmer, Zane, who is curious enough to offer Greg a little blood to tide him over. Zane, high on pot, becomes a human edible. Greg gets high and loves it.
The short story takes off from there with very little angst, lots of sex, and weed.
I liked Zane and felt like I knew him a little better than Greg, even though it was Greg's POV we read. I felt there could have been more to Greg than being a regretful vampire who hated his job; and I could have done without the endless references to his no longer beating heart. Lacking a big plot, I'd have like more characterization.
Overall, this was a sweet, funny, and steamy read.

What a delightful ghostly tale Kim Dare whipped up for us! And that cover! Gorgeous!
We start in California the 1950’s with a young, wannabe star Jack What a delightful ghostly tale Kim Dare whipped up for us! And that cover! Gorgeous!
We start in California the 1950’s with a young, wannabe star Jack playing his role on the casting couch. Unfortunately, it’s not really getting him anywhere. Spoiler alert! He becomes a ghost. See, this is a ghost story,so someone has to kinda die.
Welcome to now and Route 66 with Tag getting pulled over by a cop and making him rest at the next exit. Unbeknownst to Tag, he picks up a spectral passenger by the name of Jack.
Tag isn’t doing so hot. He’s depressed and uninspired by life. Jack, aside from being dead, couldn’t be happier to be leaving the defunct motel he has haunted for the past 60 years.
These characters took their sweet time trusting each other. They also took their sweet time hooking up. Did I forget to mention that sweet Jack has the ability to physically manifest? Even when they did begin slowly divulging secrets, you knew they were holding back. And this, folks, is what kept me interested. No spilling their guts. This worked for me. The timeline was insta-loveish, but it didn’t feel that way reading it.
The thing that gnawed at me , however, was how they would ever have an HEA. Jack seemed to be here still due to unfinished business. Once that happens, poof! How can he be unpoofed from heaven or wherever?
I had a bit of trouble digesting the easy acceptance of Jack by his sister (note that 60 years have passed and that he spent those as a ghost). She has noooo problem with this, nary an eyelash batted. Ah well.
I highly recommend this book. It was sweet, a little angsty, sexy, and funny. AND Kim Dare left us with an HEA for the lovers (I swear I had NO idea how that was gonna work itself out)!
