He always has that familial love and there are always people to support him, but there is still something missing in his life. Worse yet, he has lost his muse and can’t seem to find the creativity needed to write lyrics or paint. He didn’t know what was missing, but he knew when he found it, things would click.
Savion is introverted now. He wasn’t always this way, but after the attack, he didn’t trust, didn’t love, and had no real interest in being with people. When he is approached by someone who seems more interested in his mind and his life and not the way he looks. He doesn’t trust him or his own feelings.
Finding each other and realizing that they actually needed each other is a surprise to them both and requires a lot of self-reflection, trust, and understanding. Somehow, they figure out how to make it work for them.
OPINION: I loved so much of this book. The story of these two coming together is heartfelt and so enjoyable. The only place I was a little unsure about was where they rescued Savvy, creating a whole situation that really felt weird like we had slipped into some other story. With that said, it was so wonderful seeing these men figuring out their own identities and traversing these new feelings, both physical and emotional, together. I thought both characters were so much fun, and even with the trauma, I found myself completely drawn into the story and wanting to find out what happened next. I appreciated finding out what actually happened to Savvy. There was such pure love between these two, which was amazing. The friend group is so much fun, especially Kelly. And there are some very sensual, spice scenes that give the book a wonderful flow. This is the only book I have read from the Rocktoberfest series, but I picked a good one. I highly recommend this story—even with the interesting ending—the book is a great read with some really wonderful characters....more

There were a lot of damaged memories from the area, and he didn’t know if they could repaired. The city was his home; it was where he was happiest, and it was where his career was. Moving to the country would change all of that, but he wasn’t sure that he wanted that change. So he planned to fix the place up a bit and then sell it moving back to the city.
Walker loved his life in the country, his job, and he was generally happy with everything. He wasn’t opposed to love or a relationship, but he wasn’t looking either. When he is assigned to Dutton’s house for a big landscaping job, he can’t help himself. The man is amazing to look at, seems really nice, and he is drawn to him. Even though he is a client, he gets to know him better, and before they know it, they are coupled up, and there is a timer on when Dutton is heading home.
OPINION: I liked this book a lot. I got to know both characters very well, getting to know their world, their friends, and the small town they live in. The pace is great in that you experience all the seasons with the two men while they are figuring out what will happen next in their relationship. I am not sure if there really is a lot of spice in this book, but to me, it felt like there was plenty, and it was written well and flowed so well with the story. Generally, I loved these men and their stories. It is sweet, low-angst and just the kind of book I like. I recommend it if you want something that is simply fun and heartwarming. Such a great story and the start of a series. I will be watching for book 2....more

It was the best thing he could do since he had feelings about him. Inappropriate feelings about his straight best friend, his captain, the father of an adorable seven-year-old. Putting distance between them was safe and made it easier for his heart. They can be great on the ice, but nothing more. When Evan, the very man he was avoiding, is injured and needs someone to care for him, Vinnie is there because he cares, and he can’t help himself. It’s finally time to tell his best friend the real reason he ghosted him.
OPINION: Usually, I don’t read novellas in a series. I am not even sure why, but that’s been my habit. I enjoyed the first book in this series so much that finding out how one of the couples got together was required. I am a fan of this series and look forward to the next one already. These characters are so much fun, and the story is so easy to read. I loved this short intro to the team and the people in it. Learning how they ended up together filled in some information from the first book, but it certainly isn’t necessary. I am really glad to know, though, and it rounds out where we are in the series. These two men are wonderful; their story is lovely, and for a short story, it was packed with emotion and spice; I loved everything about it and could have read more about them for sure. The daughter is amazing and steals the show for sure. If you plan to read the books, read this too. It doesn’t matter if it’s before or after, but it's for sure worth the time, and I loved it as much as the first book....more

He has crushed on him for years, and now he gets to meet the man himself. It is a dream come true.
Finn is weirdly drawn to Noah and then accidentally over-served him at a party, helping to destroy Noah’s first time on NHL ice. After that incident, he leans into the desire to be close to him, and before they know it, they are accidentally married to prove they are most certainly not homophobic. What they forgot was they were NHL players, and they were in the spotlight, so everyone knew. The only choice is to stay married and, after a year, divorce because they are both straight, and neither wants to actually be married.
OPINION: I really enjoyed this book. It’s got a bunch of great twists on the fake marriage trope. The guys are so sweet and kind, coming from great families that manage to support the new situation their sons are in. Noah is a little awkward and a little goofy, which makes him charming. Finn is a superstar but doesn’t seem to notice that. He still seems grounded since being insanely rich doesn't seem to be anything new for him. There are stereotypes that are leaned into, but they don’t feel tired or worn. They just fit together with the story. I genuinely couldn’t put the book down, and the way the chapters are written helps you skip along through the story. THE SPICE!! Some great scenes that are great reads and wonderful moments between the men. Getting to travel the path to the HEA was so much fun, and there were moments I had to remind myself we would get there for sure because it sure felt like we might crash and burn. There was a sniffle or two throughout, and the guys were certainly endearing. It was a bit of a slow burn, with some identity awakenings. There were a lot of surprises for them, but they accepted their new realities and found themselves feeling and experiencing emotions they were not prepared for. I recommend this if you are looking for a great story with tons of story, plenty of spice, and sub-characters that hold the whole book up. I will happily read book two in this series....more

Having a learning disability and having to struggle to just get through classes brings back anxiety about being bullied, so he is sunshine and light on the outside, but trust doesn’t come easy because people can be horrible.
Maddox has had a lot of trauma making him numb to the world and the people around him. Life has been hard for him, and he found isolation was the best way to deal with it. The only problem is what made him happy was hockey, which was a team sport that meant people. When Kayden annoys him into being friends, he is surprised that maybe letting someone in after years of therapy might not be so bad after all; as long as he kept hockey, carving a spot out for someone could work.
OPINION: I liked this book a lot; it will fall on my five-star reads because I genuinely wanted to go back to it and find out what was going to happen. Both MCs are going through a lot, and it is addressed but never taken away from the love story. There is such a good pace, and you get to know about all the things in their lives, not just focusing on the bad. Something about Maddox appealed to me and I totally got how the sunshiny Kayden was drawn to him. There were a lot of witty moments, some spice, and two great guys figuring out that life could offer more than they had expected. To me it was a quick read because I was engaged throughout the whole story. Put it on your TBR. ...more

UltHayden never recovered from the two things that crushed him—the loss of his father and the destruction of his only chance for success in football. Ultimately, neither of them was in his control, but it didn’t stop how it changed and shaped his life. Nature was his sanctuary; working too hard to make sure his sisters wanted nothing and avoiding the hard truths kept him from thinking. He wasn’t interested in anything long-term, love, or relationships; those were for other people.
Rae needed to turn his drawings into a book and to sell that book; he needed an agent. When he went to a friend to help him figure out his future, he didn’t expect the man who captivated him and crept his way into his drawings. When he had a chance for a one-off with the handsome local, why not? The problem is that something locked them together, and now the one-off felt like a whole lot more.
OPINION: I liked this story a lot; there is tons of backstory, so you understand where these men have been and where they are going. You are given a carrot to follow throughout, wondering what really happened to one of the MCs along the way. There is a lot of focus on mental health, and I am completely there for it. Around 50% of the time, there was a lot of insight and emotion. Get your tissues. You’ll need them for the second half. This is such a gentle love story with understanding, kindness, consideration, and passion. I recommend you read it; I haven’t read the first one, but I will seek it out....more

Years later, Aiden finds himself on Seth’s doorstep, and the feelings they had are still there. Both made mistakes, and both felt unworthy. Together, they fought their feelings, their futures, their pasts, and each other until there was nothing left for either of them to push against.
OPINION: I didn’t cry, you cried. Every time I read one of these books, it gets me in the feels. This is the sixth one in this series, and I have enjoyed then all. This one has a lot of emotion, at least for me. They struggled, but the feelings were there, and they were going to figure it out. I loved this book and enjoyed the story and the couple. Each man has so much to work through, but you follow along and hope they figure it out. It’s a great take on best friends to lovers with a lot of ups and downs. I recommend this book and the entire series. They are all great. ...more
Emmett is climbing the ladder at his job because he wants to make his father proud and bring the company he created back to what he would have wanted Emmett is climbing the ladder at his job because he wants to make his father proud and bring the company he created back to what he would have wanted it. To do that, he had to work for a bigoted boss, basically selling his soul; it was oppressive and painful but something he could do if he tried hard enough. What he didn’t need was a loud, opinionated football star messing up his world.
Every interaction he had with Storm Rosling was filled with frustration and anger because the man didn’t think things through before he did them. The fact he was forced into this man’s world because the Fixer Brothers were renovating his home just made everything… hard. In reality, this battle between them aroused him and apparently aroused the straight football player. What in the world is going on? The complication of being with someone like Storm was the last thing he needed.
OPINION: This is one of my favorite series. I liked every story, and the couples in them are wonderful. The group of guys that make up the “Fixer Brothers” are warm and supportive and everything you want in a friend group. This story started a little slow, and I was concerned I might not love it, but Raleigh didn’t disappoint. It picked up, and I found myself completely invested in their path. There is a whole opposites attract, enemies to lovers things going on here that I loved. There aren’t a lot of spicy scenes, but the ones included are great. I genuinely loved all the books, and this went right along with the others. READ this book. It’s wonderful; then read the rest of the series, too....more

Even though that was Elio Moretti’s life, he was obsessed with the MMA fighter Orion. He knew he was obsessed since he basically stalked Orion, wanting him to take that hate he saw in his eyes out on him. Orion was not interested in anything significant with the mafia man but found himself drawn to the man, even needing him. Changing his life to be part of the family isn’t as distasteful as expected when you fall in love.
OPINION: I am putting it right out there: I am a KM Neuhold fan. This is not my style of story, but I loved it. It’s the mafia wrapped around a love story? These two men are carrying the world on their shoulders, and together, they find a release that makes it okay. They can fall into each other and find a normal for them. This book is also spicy, and I loved it. There is no romance and candles. Everything is rough, aggressive, and HOT. I found myself genuinely enjoying the story and being on board with the killing. There is a lot of darkness, but watching these two find what works for them and traveling a path with them was a change of pace for me, but I loved it. He never expected to have a hot man grinding on him and then taking him home. Getting laid would be a perfect distraction, but there was something about Chris that was different; he was just a hookup, but something in Benny made him feel like there was so much more with this man.
Chris had never left with a customer before, but something about this man had his attention, and he broke all of his rules. When this man, who was just a hookup, started to want more, he couldn’t deny that there was something between them, so why not see what happened?
OPINION: I loved this book. There were a lot of great moments throughout where you got to travel with them through their path and personal growth. It was a wonderful story about two guys that are different but fit together perfectly. I felt like I knew the characters well and enjoyed the love story. There is so much humor in the story and some very nice spicy moments. It was just so good. I am not sure what people look for in their stories, but this hit all the notes for me, and I am happy to say it made me happy to read it. It had great main characters, fun support characters, love, working through personal issues, spice, and so much more. I just like how Hinsel Meyer writes. There is enough detail you genuinely get to know the couple, plus you get to know their friends and family. Read this series. You won’t be disappointed!! ...more

He lost his career as a lawyer, destroyed the man he had been married to, and had nobody left to call a friend. Even with all that, he couldn’t let go of what his body craved. Even when Logan, a man he knew he had chemistry with, reached out to save him, he still didn’t grab hold. Finding out everything he had genuinely accomplished was gone, it was time for him to figure it out or die.
OPINION: This is a deeply emotional book filled with the anguish of loss and addiction. Both of these men are in pain, and somehow, they find each other. Both are fighting to forget their past and walk toward a future. At forty-something, neither has truly lived, and neither has known happiness. I enjoyed this book very much. As far as my opinion, it is not an “easy read.” There is a lot of depth, very little spice, and a whole lot of emotion. This has been written as a love story that is wrapped around the struggle that these men go through. Reading their story and cheering them on is a joy, and you can’t help but want the best for them. You will have plenty of emotions, from joy to fear to heartbreak, and then all those feelings a second time. If you want something that takes you through a path of recovery where you get invested in the men, this is a great read. ...more

The shop was popular and part of a wonderful neighborhood of queer people where he hoped to pay off his loans and maybe someday find love because he was a romantic. The only unfortunate part of the plan was the building he rented was inherited by someone they didn’t know, and the fate of his shop now stood in this stranger's hands.
Clay inherited an old building in a queer neighborhood from his grandfather, whom he didn’t know. He wanted to sell and get back to Missouri, where he would have the opportunity to start a crew and do things the right way. What he didn’t expect was to learn about himself, the building, his grandfather, and the neighborhood. All of this changed who he was, especially as he got to know the owner of the flower shop a little bit better, and they came to an agreement.
OPINION: I loved these two men, and that made me love the book. The epitome of a grumpy sunshine trope, they were special. I genuinely liked both of the men and felt like I had a good feeling for both of them. Each time they were together, it tickled me, and I loved that they had their lists and experimented together. They managed to kid themselves into thinking it was only physical and there weren’t feelings. It was just so good and so fun to follow their story. All of the people in this neighborhood are wonderful, and there is so much flavor to the book; I would love to see more stories of this community, like Gunther and the new guy over the Bear Bar… such a great book. Read it if you like a wonderful story of two very different but very similar minds stumbling their way into falling in love. There are some pretty great spice scenes, too!...more

When he finds himself having to do community service as part of his probation, he realizes there are a lot of parts of life he has never really acknowledged. The incredibly gorgeous man whom he is assigned doesn’t hurt.
Nick is caught off guard when his charity is assigned a posh rich boy to work with them as a probation assignment. He certainly didn’t expect the man who embraced the cause and wanted to be better, which just made him more interested in the man. Maybe it was unprofessional, but it certainly was enjoyable getting to know Mercury more and nurturing something personal between them.
OPINION: I can’t help but love a book that makes me emotional. This is a great story of two men from very different sides of the tracks. Watching how Mercury grows and embraces something different and his desire to be a better man hit me right in the feels. As their relationship grows, you get more attached to them both, and you really want them to find their HEA and have everything work out great. Fortunately, they were ready for a change, too, so moving back to the town where they graduated college and opening a queer-friendly bar was what they did.
Salem found himself back at his parents' house, which was not what he had planned, but that was how it ended up. Flat broke, homeless, and jobless. Finding a job at the new queer bar in town was just luck, and it ended up being one of the best possible things.
Both men realize the huge changes to their lives might have been the best possible thing to happen.
OPINION: This is a great start to a series. I didn’t read the prequel, but I enjoyed this story regardless. This group of men is wonderful, and you immediately look forward to the stories that will be told about their lives. Indy and Salem’s story is great. Both men don’t want to be committed, but their bodies have very different ideas. Everything about the other is perfect, and the lust starts the second Salem walks in the door. Indy just can’t help himself, and Salem is more than willing to comply, creating some very nice spicy scenes. There are lots of great moments between them, but both continue to fight what their hearts have decided for them. This is a pretty low-angst slice-of-life story. It pulls you through with a great story, and seeing them fighting their obvious attraction and pretending there isn’t emotion is great. They can’t keep their hands off each other, and it’s a lot of fun to read. All the friend groups are wonderful, and you get a good feel for a few of them; there are stories there, I am sure. With each step they get closer, things get a little more complicated, and before they know it, Toby and Harry are not naked just for warmth. When they get home, how will they put these feelings back in the box, and is that something they really want to do? They had completely opposing political views; Harry wanted to be prime minister. There was no way for them to have more between them, especially since Harry was married to a woman.
OPINION: I wasn’t sure how I would feel about this story, and there were a lot of specifics about the political system in the UK. It allows you to have context regarding where they stand within their parties and how their decisions and choices impact that. The first few chapters made me wonder about the book as a whole, but as things got moving and these two men faced the challenges of being stranded, you find yourself invested in their story. As their physical attraction turns into something deeper, you find yourself rooting for them, fully knowing the likelihood of them finding happily ever after is slim. Each intimate moment, and each time, they slip a little deeper into each other emotionally. Once they are no longer in a life-and-death situation, their inability to let go of each other and their very need to be together is an emotional rollercoaster. The ending is a surprise, and the whole story has a lot of feelings, and you find yourself wanting everything to work out. This is a wonderful story with a little bit of drama, feeling, angst, and, of course, a happily ever after. There are plenty of humorous moments and banter between the two of them. Pick this up after the first few chapters. You’ll be surprised and find yourself just needing to know what happens next. OPINION: Be prepared. This leaves you on a cliffhanger, but what an adventure to get there. I love this book and how it is written. I am a fan of the trope and couldn’t get enough of Iris and her situation. She handled finding herself in a completely different dimension quite well. I like that she is not a perfect heroine; she has her flaws and tries to embrace them but, like us all, is self-deprecating and insecure. Vendril is amazing, kind, generous, and really smexy. These two find a bond and love in this weird situation, but having to sacrifice to go home is heartbreaking. I really liked this book (the cliffhanger is killing me). The characters are so well-developed, and I feel settled within the world, seeing what it would be like. The side characters are wonderful, even the bad ones. OPINION: The DALTONS!!! This is one of my favorite families, and I loved West and Asher’s stories. Finding out this was about the twins was a delight, and I was there for it. These guys have stumbled along but are so kind and want to be so good, and they just struggle a little. I loved this story. Maybe it had something to do with already liking the family, but these two just have so much depth and emotion. There is so much to this story as far as I am concerned. I love the path that Emmett takes to find his HEA, and as brothers, they lay it all out there for themselves and for love. They have each other’s backs, and they support each other even though they are so codependent. I felt my heart ache for Em, but it was nice to see a story where they didn’t just give up themselves for love; they risked it all to be their best selves. This is a great addition to this series. I have read like half of them, and each was wonderful in their own way. Give it a read. Eden Finley, of course, is fantastic, just another great story in the Edenverse....more

But even with that, so much spice and friendship. I personally liked this book a lot; it always seems those I like a lot are not nearly the ones others like as much, but who knows? To me, this was great. These guys are such a fantastic pair of puck idiots going down a path of love, companionship, and friendship. It is a joy and a heartbreak seeing the patience and unconditional support that Griffin offers his everything; even with his nudges and his heartache, he is there, loyal, hurt, but there. Andy had contempt for Dan. For sure, he was stuffy and grumpy. Bending him over something would resolve a lot of that pent-up frustration or whatever is up his ass; he was straight, through, or at the very least, never in a gay relationship. That didn’t matter; he wasn’t going to entertain it; he was going just to study him and keep his hand to himself while he lived and worked for him. It’s just that easy.
