She proves it once more with Jinx and Ali. Ali was such a unique heroine with her background and career, she was perfect for Jinx.

As always, this hero fits into everything I love about the main character. Protective, possessive, jealous when the occasion arises and determined to make and keep her as his own.
”I am a f---ing lying bas--rd, you know that - but I am a bas--rd who is loyal to you. If it means you are protected, I will lie, steal, cheat, or kill in an instant.”
He’s also more than he appears on the surface. Getting to know the real Jinx was a journey only one woman could travel and even then he had a bit of a struggle. I loved every part of him.

This is one scorching thrill ride with twists and turns that kept me engaged each step of the way. If this is what it’s like to get jinxed, then sign me up...I need to be Jinxed!
Getting more from the Trouble for Hire group added moments that had me grinning from ear to ear. And we also meet Jinx’s brother Ramsey. His story is next and I suspect we’re going to have a whole lot of alpha overload with him and his lady. I can’t wait!
This can be read as a standalone although all the Trouble guys are worth checking out.

Let go from her job, Charley is trying to start her own assessment company. When her new client, the one who could really get her name out there, ends up being the same man who tried to steal her milk, she’s got concerns. He’s a complete adrenaline junkie, lives an outrageous life and she’s extremely attracted to him. But when her best friend finagles them into going on a trip together, she’s wondering who the risk taker is now?
’He was nothing but the shiny object that would derail her from her plans. The bell to her bird. The squirrel to her dog. Her kryptonite.’
[image]
Despite being careful about everything in her life, Charley always ends up in one botched up situation or another. She’s adorkable, accident prone, and too cute for words. I enjoyed watching her try to avoid her attraction to Chris, knowing it was a losing battle. ’He was like a great big ball of golden sunshine that warmed and cheered everyone around him, no matter what their intentions. The man was contagious.’
[image]
Chris lives for the adrenaline high, living life on the edge. I loved that he challenged Charley and drew her out of her protective shell.
’The woman had uptight down to a science. And he knew just how to make her unravel.’
From the very beginning they had a spark that grew into intense heat. Their reasons for ignoring the chemistry between themselves believable.
This couple were so much fun together. The banter is sharp and quick, cute and engaging. There were some hilarious moments as Charley got herself, and him by association, into various situations. I was a bit disappointed that this character trait tended to die down as the story progressed. However, it was enough to enjoy the thought that the risk assessor was more at risk than the one being assessed.
This is a story that will immediately pull you in due to the meet cute and then the continued cute which eventually moves into emotional involvement between the hero and heroine. The conflict was a bit under thought but didn’t take long to resolve. The angst level is definitely low and the heat, once they gave in, was pretty steamy. Mostly, this is just a great feel good story with wonderful characters that make you smile.

I wasn’t expecting this to touch on a troupe that can go either way for me. I can love it or hate it, and of course, as always, this author wrote it so that I was completely in love with it.

I loved the way this couple not only met, but remet again. The way they connected each time and their determination to not let it affect them is why I keep coming back to this writer’s work. On the surface each character refuses to accept the other person. They push and push again until inevitably, they give into the pull that they are fighting against. And then holy heck, the pages lit up with fire as the hero and heroine yield to their desires.
This is a short, fast paced read but written in a way that I didn’t feel short changed with the storyline. I was disappointed when it was over because I loved this couple so much!

I loved all the characters, especially since many are old friends from the previous books. But I absolutely adored West and Sophie.
Sophie was easy to connect with and her attempt to make sure her sister was moving forward in life endeared her to me. West’s story line often had me welling up with emotion. He had been through more than any one person should ever have to endure and I longed for him to find his perfect “happily ever after”.
This is a second chance romance with flashbacks to the beginning of things and then following through the years afterwards. They were clearly marked and I found them to be the perfect tool to connect me with the struggle and angst that each character had suffered. Along with those moments of deep emotion, this is filled with the perfect amount of humor and plenty of steam making this a well rounded read and deeply satisfying.

I absolutely love this author’s heroes, but she also does heroines that are impossible to forget and Millie is definitely going to be one of those. She is inventive and quirky and her unique abilities had me wishing she were real and in my life. I loved absolutely everything about her. Once the story line kicks in and we learn what has happened with her, it was like a fist to the gut.
Scott was perfect for Millie. He was sweet and kind, and not a pushy alpha male that would trample all over her. That’s not to say he wasn’t protective, because he is that and so much more. I loved the organic way their relationship developed and his progression into falling for her.
This story line was a bit darker than expected but not so dark as to turn me away. I actually found this to be impossible to put down. The earlier cast of the series makes an appearance and I have to say that Wolf and Cat once more stole every scene they were in. I will never get tired of him and his own quirky ways. He’s a great big, scary marshmallow. When you add that with Roscoe's crazy behaviors, the tone of the story is leveled and absolutely perfect.

Georgia was such a feisty fireball. She really had the gift of revenge although it never seemed to quite hit its mark which added a level of humor that had me grinning throughout most of the book. Dominic was her main target and I quickly fell in love with him because he found her just as amusing as I did.

I love a strong protective hero and Crash is over the top with it in the most delicious way. He's got all the big, bad, jealous characteristics. The fact that he's so clueless about relationships, and women in a relationship, is all kinds of delightful.
I found myself smiling pretty much through this whole book. The humor is perfect. Not immature and not raunchy but with a sweetness to it that pulls you into the story on its own. Add in the danger that stirs all the characters up and the ongoing discussion between Crash and Mary and I was a satisfied reader. And then I became a happy blubbering mess at its conclusion and I loved it!

Ethan surprised me this time around as the author showed me what he was really made of and what caused him to make the decisions he did. I absolutely loved Darby. She was what I wish I could be. She embraced all her desires and didn’t let others dictate her actions. Her love of all things vintage totally won me over.
While there were a lot of times this couple’s relationship was not the sole focus of the story, when they were together they set my kindle on fire. This was a fast paced story that was relatively low angst with just a bump here and there to keep me questioning how things were going to work out.

This is novella length but it has all that makes for a longer read and written in a way that I didn't feel short changed. Theo and Elliana were so much fun together. I loved how he had "murdery" reactions when his protective instincts kicked into overdrive regarding her.

Characters we've previously met were included and the overall feeling was one of a close knit family. There is plenty of steam but it doesn't consume the whole book. This is a perfect read to kick off the holidays.

Marly was such a sassy fireball that immediately had Wade snapping at attention. She was everything a grumpy hero could ever need and more. I loved that she brought him out of his disgruntled outlook and into a whole new way of living life.
In the process of trying to not let Crazy Marley affect him, Wade did the complete opposite and fell fast and hard. He was such a strong alpha male with his protective ways. It hit all the right spots for me. I love when a hero is ferocious in his protection and that was exactly what Wade was.
This is filled with lots of fun and laughter, great friends and characters that made me feel like I was a part of the small community. There was a time or two the angst ratcheted up and my heartstrings were definitely pulled or I feared for what might happen. It was perfectly written and had a nice meaty feel to it all. This is a book that I would highly recommend for any reason when looking for a quality romance.

Violet and Eli were competitors at everything since the first day of kindergarten. When graduation takes Eli in one direction and Violet’s plans take a serious detour, they each live their life with what they’ve been dealt. But with Eli’s return to town and the fact he’s now her co-worker, the competition is on again.
”Besides, dear God, Violet is pretty when she’s mad. She’s pretty all the time, but anger sparks something in her eyes that makes her light up like a human flame, burning and flickering from the inside, dangerous and alluring all at once.”

This couple were so cute despite their constant bickering. As the story progresses, the arguments change into a fun, flirty banter that I loved. The chemistry between these two absolutely sizzles and the gradual change from enemies to lovers to more was wonderful. There really isn’t a lot of drama here, and what we are given is relatively low angst. I loved how things worked out for them and the epilogue was perfect. I know we’ll be seeing more of Eli and Violet as we get more of the Loveless boys and I cannot wait!

While this does deal with a bit of political drama, it does not consume the story line but adds a touch of flavor to it. Constantine was awesome with his dark past and his instant attraction to Juliet. He was the perfect alpha hero riding in to save the princess. His protective mode was on overload and it was exactly what I look for in romance. I found myself thinking of him even when I was forced to set my kindle aside and get on with life.
The whole premise of this story captured my attention and kept me engaged from the first page. I couldn’t ask for better characters and storyline. Danger was around every corner and uncertainty regarding the villain kept me questioning every introduction to a new character. There were twists and turns I never saw coming and I loved every moment of it.

Despite her painful past, Haven was a fun, quirky heroine that I loved immediately. She had so many little things about her that I connected with. My heart hurt throughout the book as the fact that she was there only temporarily was never forgotten. And oh my! I needed her to find peace, comfort, and security. Rarely do I have such strong emotions regarding a heroine but it was imperative that Haven have her happy ever after. While I knew she would, the angst of getting to that point just about killed me.
I adored Travis! He was so caught up in Haven it was practically swoon worthy. The fact that he had a three legged cat as a little buddy pretty much finished the melting of my heart. His past was just as brutal as Haven’s but in a different way and watching these two characters find healing within themselves as they fell in love made for one of the most beautiful stories I’ve read in a while.

It’s been years since I’ve read Archer’s Voice and I don’t remember if it included this wild and wacky cast of town characters or not. I want so much more of them! Hoping since this is a new series I’m going to see them all again.

Cady’s life isn’t easy, especially since her aunt has passed away. The one bright spot is her Thursday evening calls with Fox. This premise alone was enough to intrigue me. By the time that call had ended, I was fully invested in Cady, Fox and not only their pasts, but their futures. I wanted to know all the things and the process of learning them kept me turning the pages.
I’ve only read a couple of “cozy mysteries” and I’m not sure if this is labeled as such, but it certainly felt that way but with so much more. It had the fun and quirky heroine, the mystery that kept me guessing (I never did guess right) and the wild cast of characters that added flair to the town and therefore the story. But it also had some serious steam between the hero and heroine without fading to black. We got the full deal and holy mother of all taxidermied animals, it was delicious!

Calan was the biggest, toughest highlander laird with a heart of gold. I melted everytime he displayed all his soft and gooey tender care with Allissaid. He was protective and gentle and his concern over what she was offered to eat was too freaking cute.
I enjoyed the bit of mistaken gender identity that Calan experienced. It’s definitely a favorite trope of mine as long as it doesn’t continue for long and this one did not. I actually wouldn’t have minded a little more of it. The same with the amnesia trope.
I was pulled in within a few turns of the page and soon I couldn’t stop. This had the perfect amount of danger and drama laced throughout with humor that had me grinning. The chemistry between Allissaid and Calan was displayed in a believable and heat inducing manner. With secondary characters that added to my overall enjoyment of this book, I’m highly recommending this one to anyone who enjoys a highlander romance.

I like the way this heroine can’t seem to stay out of the middle of any murder that takes place in her community. She has her own way of finding answers and while her ex wants her to stay out of things, he can’t help but key in to any clues that she finds.
Once more, I was unable to identify the killer prior to the reveal. I was shocked when it happened and thrilled that this author caught me off guard. There were several times when the danger level amped up and this heroine found herself in a tricky situation.

With a cast of eclectic characters and a hero that has me anxious for him to just make his move already, this kept me engaged from the first page.

Sunny continues to amaze me with her deductive reasoning, her people skills, and most of all, her offbeat wit and sense of humor. I love the way she deals with both victims and perpetrators. Especially the band of hooligans she arrests this time around. My face hurt from grinning so much.
We get a lot of quality time with Levi in this book and even more of him with Sunny. I would love to have some of his perspective so I could connect to him on a deeper level. However, there are a lot of reveals in this book and that went a long way to helping me get to know him better.
Along with all the laugh out loud moments, this is also laced with danger and drama including scenes that had me on the edge of my seat. When you add in the whole cast of characters, each with their own passions or quirky natures, it makes for a well rounded mystery that will definitely be a reread in the future.

Mercy was a fascinating heroine and the fact that the table has turned and she is now the one in need of protection rather than the one helping to protect, set me up for one awesome ride. Especially when Griff entered the picture. His distrust of her brought out all the grump this larger than life hero could display and Ms. Rivers had him dishing it all out until he’s sucker punched by what he learns about Mercy’s situation. Delicious!
Mercy and Griff are a mature couple but that doesn’t mean they don’t sizzle when they come together. The chemistry between them was electric and I loved the way they were both protective over each other. Griff was definitely the definition of protective hero, but Mercy could certainly hold her own when the situation called for it. Together, they consumed my attention until the last page.

I loved everything about this story and highly recommend it as it is by far the best yet in the series.
