From their first meeting, Cassidy turned Titan inside out and every which way but loose. The fact that he was drawn to her even before meeting her face to face was enough to let me know I was going to absolutely love him. And holy heck did I ever! His protective instincts went into overdrive and I loved the fact that she would step between him and danger as well. Of course, that only drove him closer to the edge.
Cassidy was an interesting heroine. She had a certain amount of innocence about her despite the experiences that had created a spine of steel within her. And despite her brush with darkness, she was like a ray of sunshine to Titan. I loved how her ways of adapting to her new way of life were things that brought smiles to both him and myself. But my heart broke because she was suffering emotionally from what she had witnessed and experienced.
This is a fast paced read filled with danger that kept me on the edge of my seat throughout the book. The chemistry between this couple absolutely sizzles across the page and the ending gave me my promised happy ever after while also promising more in the Ice Breaker world.

I absolutely adored Kinsey. Because she’s always been judged by her looks and accent, she’s learned ways to handle it in a way that I totally support and admire all while laughing myself silly. With her southern belle sweet to top off her stark rebuttals, I want to be her! The fact that she was so perfect for Griff due to her own nerdiness had me cheering her on all the way.
Griff is that amazing hero that rarely talks. When he does he tends to bumble what he’s trying to say so he tends to do a lot of grunting. While he wasn’t as neanderthal as I expected outside of the bedroom, once things heated up between Kinsey and him, he became one heck of a dirty talker. Oh lord, he was panty melting hot! Add in the fact that he first fell in love with Kinsey’s brain before he ever laid eyes on her, and I had reached my swoon level.
There isn’t a lot of drama to this story. Just a touch towards the end. However, it’s filled with the decisions, actions, and reactions of this couple as they wade through a fake dating situation and find themselves falling (or in Griff’s position - having already fallen) in love. I didn’t read the first book and I was never lost or confused, although I’d like to go back and read it just to get more of the Becketts. This family is hilarious. Their interactions had me grinning as they antagonized one another - much like my own family does!

Highly recommend this delicious rom-com that not only has lots of heat but plenty of heart as well!

Willow is fierce in her loyalty and dedication to her family. The things she has already been through for their protection pales in comparison to what lays in store for her. She’s carrying the world on her shoulders and will go to any lengths to make sure her loved ones are safe. Her fight against her feelings for Warrick couldn’t withstand his stout determination to claim her.
Warrick was magnificent in all his hellhoundedness! He was jealous, possessive and protective in the extreme. He growled with displeasure as well as satisfaction giving me all the wonderful alpha goodness I love. Watching him battle against his need to grab and claim Willow was a delicious torture as he barely kept his hound reined in.
This was one wild adventure of shifters, familiars, witches and magic. Within the first few pages this story took off and it never slowed down. It kept me eagerly turning pages, anxious to learn what new torment either of these characters would be facing. The additional characters offer some awesome promises of more magical mayhem and danger in the future and I can’t wait!

A favorite couple is a difficult position to find for me. I’m rarely affected by the heroine and if I do enjoy one, they seldom are able to actually become a favorite, much less to be paired with a hero that is also a favorite. It didn’t take long for Maisey and Odin to both win me over. Within a few pages they had me grinning from ear to ear as I mentally rubbed my hands together in glee getting ready for how this was all going to unfold. It was so much better than I anticipated!!!
Maisey was too freaking cute! She talked non-stop when nervous and while she was a professor her passion was true crime. I immediately identified with her in pretty much every way. I adored all her little quirky actions and reactions which served to fire up Odin’s reactions, ramping up my enjoyment ever more so. She was as protective of him as he was of her which was both hilarious and as sweet as anything I’ve ever read.
Odin was immediately a favorite just due to his size and manner. He’s a big, bulking hero that tends to add only monosyllabic responses to any conversation or question. These are difficult boxes to check off of my favorite hero list. And talk about protective...holy muscles! This dude’s picture has to be in the dictionary next to the definition of a brick wall. That’s exactly what he’s like each time Maisey is in any type of danger, real or imagined. Add in the streak of possessiveness that runs through him and I was drooling from the beginning.
This was such a delicious read that kept me turning pages as quickly as possible. Once I started I was unable to stop, I didn’t want to stop. If someone had forced me to do so I would have definitely done an “Odin” on them. The steam level bumped this most enjoyable read up to inferno levels as the chemistry between Odin and Maisey was off the charts. We were also introduced to a couple of new characters that had my alpha heart cheering because I know they’re going to have their own stories and I cannot wait!!!
I often struggle with novellas because there isn’t time for the characters to truly develop the emotions required to fall in love. The fact that SilasI often struggle with novellas because there isn’t time for the characters to truly develop the emotions required to fall in love. The fact that Silas and Cassandra have a long established relationship, despite their three year separation, gave this everything it needed to work.
I’ve only read a couple of romances that involve a married couple who are divorcing or on the brink of doing so. It’s a relatively new experience for me and I was a little nervous. However, Ms. Adams did an amazing job of highlighting all the wonderful things this couple had working for them even as they dealt with the issues that had separated them. The fact that both the hero and heroine were responsible in equal parts helped to carry the angst that otherwise might have been heavier.
While I enjoyed Cassandra and appreciated the final stages of change she had to go through in order for them to find their happily ever after, Silas stole the story for me. I’m a crazy fan of big, burly, mountain men that grunt and grumble. Silas was recluse and had the whole vibe going on along with a bit of jealousy and possessiveness. I loved him so much! The added sweetness to this story was Silas’ own transformation.
This is a fast read but it has all the development and feels of a full length novel. I loved Silas and Cassandra, as well as this world they lived in, so much, I hated to see it end.

Carol has had a crush on Patrick since she was young. Years ago she attempted to get his attention but failed. She’s going to try one more time, this time as a woman with seduction that leads to more, on her mind. As the story progresses and her relationship with Patrick has traveled a wild a rocky path, I loved that she got to the place of speaking her mind, freely, to him.
Likewise, Patrick has had his eye on Carol. As someone who prefers to deal with work and lose himself on his computer, he doesn’t do well when it comes time to actually have a conversation with Carol about what he wants or his feelings. He’s an adorable geek with the tendency to not speak due to shyness and a tendency to grumble, grunt at moments. I absolutely loved him and having his point of view...holy heck! My heart was his almost immediately, and I felt swoony just from his thoughts alone.
This is a fast read with some of the most amazing characters. I loved this couple so much! The fact that what’s happening between them is in the midst of wedding preparations added moments of laughter as well as times when my heart was completely taken over with emotion. With a heat level that’s pretty hot and an epilogue that ended this in the best way possible, I highly recommend this one.

While I like Cecily, for me this was all about Zeke. He’s a big burly, bearded hero that tends to grunt rather than use his words. The fact that Cecily knows exactly what he’s saying with those grunts endeared them both to me. Their earlier conversations in the book were where the magic was for me. I found myself smiling at his non-communicative behavior and her understanding of him.
Being in Zeke’s mind was awesome! His thoughts about Cecily, how she made him feel, his reactions to her and the process he went through when making his decisions regarding their relationship were such a big part of this story. I fell in love with him from his first grunt and continued to fall harder as the story continued.
This is relatively low angst with the conflict arising from the character’s emotional reactions to certain situations. The plotline is wonderfully woven pulling threads from various places of the book to create an emotionally beautiful read.

Charlie was an easy going heroine that’s decided to take her chance with Simon, the man that has looked after her finances following the death of her parents. He’s fifteen years older but that never bothers Charlie.
Simon is a grumpy bear and it’s pretty obvious he’s keeping his distance from Charlie when it comes to anything that might be crossing a line he’s drawn in his own mind. I did love his protective ways and his growly attitude. When he finally yields to his desire...holy heck it was hot!

This is a fast read and is centered on the relationship issues which is primarily the age difference.

Trixie was a bit of a gypsy, a traveler, never one to settle down. She is currently grieving and while her heart tells her one thing, the lessons life has taught her is guiding her a different direction. I liked her and her carefree ways but wanted to see her find contentment. She’s a tattoo artist, a bit like a pin up girl, and in need of someone she can depend on.
Oh my gosh! Mason was everything! He’s a dirty talking alpha that knew just how to push Trixie’s buttons. It’s been a long time since I’ve read another hero like him. Dominate, but not heavy bd-m, is exactly what Trixie needed to lose herself and Mason was exactly what she needed. Everything between them sizzles with a chemistry so fierce it’s combustible. And holy heck, he’s protective, jealous, possessive and did I say, dominate?
This is not a story based on outside drama, but on the issues each character has to deal with from within and then how it pertains to them as a couple. It’s Mason and Trixie establishing a non-relationship relationship after a fun period of being enemies and fighting. Everything about this ticked my boxes for a fun, smexy read.

Fritz has had me curious from the first time we were introduced to him. He’s been on the periphery of the other characters’ lives throughout the series. There was always a mysterious air about him that intrigued me. Add in his grumpy, brusque personality and I was itching to get my hands on his story.
Ms Adams rarely writes the hero's point of view so when I saw that she had given us Fritz’s pov, I was pleasantly surprised. After reading a few lines of it, I quickly moved from pleased to ecstatic. I found myself grinning from ear to ear at so many of his actions, thoughts, and behaviors.
Fritz was wonderful with Belinda and I adored the humor that they had in their relationship. It’s an element that doesn’t arise often in this author’s work, so finding it here added an additional layer of charm to an otherwise completely charming story. Getting to actively know some of the things this hero thinks about the heroine as well as the jealousy he feels, was a cherry on my sundae and moved Fritz into my favorite kind of alpha hero.
Interlaced with the fun humor and the intense chemistry between Fritz and Belinda were scenes of such deep emotion that I found myself choking up. They both had issues that struck a chord within me, pulling me further into their world. Everything between them felt real, organic, and precious. I was cheering them on all the way.

Harm was one tough heroine with a background that forced her into being the tough kid or not surviving. As a result, she may have a few anger management issues and I wasn’t sure if I was going to like her too much. However, as the story continued, it didn’t take me long to love her kick-tail ways and her take no prisoners attitude. This was who she was and I can’t imagine her any other way.
Mars was the perfect match for her. He too had some serious anger issues which actually added to my enjoyment of the book. Afterall, he is Ares and I fell fast and hard for him. He’s super alpha which was tricky considering Harm didn’t need anyone to protect her. I loved watching him fall for her and then having to deal with his family.
Ares and Harm were hot together! I think this book might have had a bit more steam to it than the previous books and it worked perfectly for this hero and heroine. Their relationship was quite fiery.
Mixed with all the intensity of these characters, their issues from the past and the decisions for the future, was a thread of humor that was pure perfection amongst the heavier weight of their “battles”. This was such an enjoyable read and I loved getting Ms. Spades’ perspective of Ares and the woman created just for him.

What an exceptional narration! This was my first by Mr. Barringer and holy heck, I was completely blown away. He gave his performance so much more than what you normally find in audio-books and I’ll definitely be looking for more from him! Ms. Rennie also brought out these characters with plenty of drama.
I went into this one blind but secure, because anything by this author is going to be safe for me as well as have all the requirements I look for in a great book. So I was a bit surprised by this heroine, Leelo, but I quickly learned to love her. I thought I was going to have an issue but I soon saw her for what she was underneath all the exterior as well as her sometimes harsh demeanor.
Roar on the other hand had me falling in love immediately. Big, bearded, grumpy with few words spoken...oh yeah! Add in that Leelo aggravated him on a whole new level than most and he had me completely.
While this had some drama pertaining to the business Leelo was trying to kick back into gear, the relationship did not. That doesn’t mean there weren’t times this couple had their flare ups and I actually loved watching them deal with them...and make up.

I’ve been waiting to get Adare’s and Grace’s complete story since they were first introduced as a “couple”. Their relationship is not one of choice as much as necessity. That intrigued me with where their storyline would go and how they’d eventually come together. It was all that I had hoped.
Grace, as a human, is weaker but holy heck did she have a will of iron and she was quick to show it in full force to Adare. The thing I really liked about it was that she didn’t have to yell and shout or carry on, she simply said what she wanted or she did as she wanted. It pretty much drove Adare crazy.
As all of Ms. Zanetti’s heroes, Adare is the perfect example of an alpha male with strong protective tendencies and even a bit of jealousy when called for, although with these mated males jealousy is harder to come by as anyone who makes a move, even jokingly, pays the price for doing so. Watching him slowly come to some new realizations was endearing as he thought he had his life all planned out, even with his mate that he had separated himself from.
This is chock full of action and excitement with a lot of new information regarding the ongoing struggle between the Seven and...well, pretty much everyone else. We see lots of old familiar characters from the past, as well as a few new ones. I’m so excited to see where this series is going to take us as there is just so much possibility here.

There’s no denying I’m a fan of this family so when I realized that Jade and Rex’s story was going to be a bit like a romance between the offspring of the Hatfields and McCoys (more earthy than Romeo and Juliet), I couldn’t wait to jump in. And oh yeah, it was soo good! This couple not only have to work through their own issues that have held them back throughout the years, they then have to deal with the issues wrought by their families.
My heart hurt for Rex before he ever got his own book and now I’m completely in love with him. Jade also won me over pretty quickly for a variety of reasons...her vocation and how she used it was pretty amazing. Together they suffered a bit of angst but watching them pull themselves out of the box they were forced into due to their families was awesome.
There were so many plot points in this book that had me totally captivated to find out more that I often found myself continuing to listen after I would normally turn it off. Can’t wait to get more of this family!!!

Cecelia lived her life alone, hated and despised, tortured for being what she could not control. Years later her life has changed, but those things that were damaged still hover in the background of her psyche. I loved that she was fiercely independent, so sweet and kind, and yet to know her no one would ever recognize that she was broken. Her interactions with Ramsay had me cheering her on as she stood up to him without ever faltering.
Ramsay was a grumpy, stern, and intractable hero. He’s got a past that has left its own mark and has created the man that refuses to yield to anything that does not stand up to his moral high ground. Watching him with Cecelia had me experiencing pretty much every emotion. Having his point of view and reading exactly how her presence affected him was spectacular as it fed my own love for a strong hero who can only see the heroine.

The growth of this couple’s relationship was actually quite beautiful as they each find a form of healing in the process. [image]
I adore nerdy heroines and while Olivia wasn’t your typical nerd, she was definitely a heroine who had her nose stuck in chemical elements and experiments. She was more than capable of holding her own in society, but that was not where her interests laid. Her reaction to Thorn took her by surprise as she has not experienced the things he makes her feel upon first meeting him.
Thorn was initially a well rounded duke but after having his beliefs dashed and his character min-angled, he quickly learns to embrace his rakehell title. I loved watching him fall for Olivia even as he didn’t realize that was what he was doing. He was a fun hero as he grumbled and groused his way into Olivia’s life. With a lot of protectiveness and a bit of jealousy, it didn’t take much to make him a new favorite for me.
Together, this couple had me smiling, laughing, cursing, and cheering as they struggle to find their happy ever after. As the drama and action rolled across the pages, revealing new thoughts and ideas regarding this family and their past, I found myself growing more and more excited to learn who the ultimate villain is.
This has a great pace to it that kept me turning the pages as it never bogged down or repeated itself. I loved the dynamics between Georgia and Liam. Georgia is the sweet, sunshinny girl that bakes cookies and cuddles her cat. While she is super sweet, she was also fun because she drove Liam crazy.

He’s a real bear one moment and then the next he has the sweetest look in his eyes for Polly. Finding that in a growly hero is exactly why I love them. It’s interesting that I really didn’t realize exactly how much I enjoyed this book until I reread it.
Original review: What a wonderful down to earth romance with real characters and a plot that kept hold of me til the very end.
’And he’s my boss.
My boss.
I’m not supposed to be doing this. I’m not supposed to be feeling this way.
And I have no idea what I’m supposed to do about it.’
When Polly returns to Milford to help care for her mother, she takes a job at the college as a temporary administrative assistant. Learning that her boss is a grumpy, terse man should make her nervous, but she rises to the challenge and meets him head on.
I really connected with Polly, which is something this author is often able to make me do. She’s just been waiting for life to get started, to find a home, somewhere to belong. Although she tends to be the person standing in the corner during social functions, she doesn’t have a problem standing up to Liam. And doing so with a smile on her face.
While I prefer to have the hero’s point of view, this author always manages to convey what he’s experiencing without even a little peek into his mind. It’s a talent that is rarely found, in my opinion. Even though Liam had some alpha tendencies, which I loved, his vulnerabilities were clearly visible even as he grumbled his way through a few irritated words. There was a moment or two I wanted to give him a smack, but he more than made up for it.
’I squeeze him, and his arms tighten around me. He’s big and strong and warm and just a little grumpy. He feels like mine.’
[image]
This is one of those books that you read when you have a few hours and want to just sit back and enjoy. The angst is relatively low, the chemistry believable, and the hero and heroine extremely likable. I love a boss/employee troupe and this one did not disappoint.

When Gwyn’s past rises up to threaten her, Joshua steps in to help out. He soon finds himself in her brother’s employ as her bodyguard, a position Gwyn is not happy about for a few reasons. But the more time they spend together, the more they realize that their preconceived notions about the other was not completely accurate. They each have a past filled with pain and uncertainty that has left it’s mark on their hearts and souls.
’Like the torn ligatures and muscles in Joshua’s leg that still ached after five years, her wound was hidden…’
[image]
Oh man, I absolutely adored Gwyn! She said what she thought without a moment’s hesitation but was still sweet and caring. Once riled up, she really let it fly, and I couldn’t help but laugh at the way she stood up to Joshua.
Joshua was exactly how I like my heroes. He rarely smiled, was often curt, and just wanted to be alone. Gwyn, however, was able to reach deep inside of him and watching him slowly rise up from the ashes of his previous pain and suffering was wonderful. His main priority was protecting her, even when she was determined to waylay him at times. She certainly kept him on his toes.
’She was holding his hand. She was complaining about her suitors. He liked both things better than he should, especially after an evening of being forced to watch her dance with every fool in creation. Of fighting to keep his jealousy under control when all he wanted was to punch her partners in the face.’
[image]
I loved watching this couple together! Their banter was quick and smart, their chemistry creating a tension that is felt throughout the book. And when they finally yielded, holy heck! I’m surprised my kindle didn’t go up in flames.
This plot has several layers to it and I was completely engrossed as each one was revealed. With just enough drama and danger, interspersed with the romance, I found myself turning the pages as quickly as possible. The angst is what I would consider mild as both Joshua and Gwyn have a lot of fears, distrust, and uncertainties to deal with but without consuming the story. While they totally clicked together, theirs is not an easy happy ever to obtain. Watching them get there was pure perfection.

I loved both Leanne and Cal so much. They were highly dysfunctional but then again they have a shared history of pain that has caused them to be so. Watching them both slowly come to realize the problem, individually, and work towards correcting the problem was beautiful.

This is a rather high angst read but it’s softened with witty banter and fun secondary characters. Despite their on again/off again relationship, this actually is a slow burn. One of the issues I had with the previous book was a lack of the hero’s point of view. While we only get a few chapters with Cal, it was enough for me to know exactly what he felt, how heartbroken he was, and how determined he was to win Leanne back, showcasing what a truly great hero he was.
I really enjoyed this book and can’t wait to dig into the next book in this new series.
