I loved this book. I loved this series and am sad to see it end. There, does that cover it? No, okay, One Last Stand finally gives us Shep and London's story. I have been curious about the mystery that is London. And wowza, the story line that is weaved around London and Shep is a crazy and wild ride! And it brought back so many old friends! I won't say which characters from other series appeared but it was a lot. And it was so fun seeing them in this story. Not to mention that Moose and Tillie's story gets more of an ending as well. This book is a wild ride of adventure and growth. London and Shep both have a past that is twisted together more than they even realize. But is their past a reason to stay together? Both have to figure out exactly who they are, what they want. As an individual before they can become a couple. Should they be a couple?...more

How can you not want to read a book that has that as the first line? Book 6 of this series starts off with a bang and doesn't really let up until the end. I loved it!
Crispin is the one that has been central throughout the series in regards to the mystery. And yet I was still surprised, which I like, about how this mystery was wrapped up. So good!
When we first met Crispin I never would have guessed that I would be cheering for him. And for him to have his own book that wraps up this series? Nope! But I am so glad he does! And I was definitely cheering for him as he dealt with fire, terrorists, being shot and so many adventures.
This book is a wild ride. I suggest that before you sit down you grab something to snack on and a drink because you won't want to get up until you are done reading the book. ...more

It's also a prelude to a series. And this book has me ready to start book 1! I prefer a longer book but did enjoy this one. I most liked that the author easily brought the characters faith into their daily lives in a non pushy way. Again, excited to continue this series....more

This is Booth and Nova's story. Both are smokejumpers. And the two of them are causing sparks to fly.
Nova has always wanted to be a smokejumper. And not just any smokejumper but the chief. Booth on the other hand is someone all together different. And that needs to be kept a secret.
Remember that mystery I talked about? Booth is fully wrapped up in it. And its his responsibility, at least he thinks so, to protect the town. Protect Nova.
Fires, action and a mystery all in one book. And of course, characters you want to cheer on. I am enjoying this series and am ready for book 6 and solving this mystery.
I received a copy of this book from the publisher in exchange for an honest review. All thoughts are my own and true....more

This is Dakota, former SWAT team member and now Jude County Hot Shot and yet needs self confidence in himself. In order to do that he needs to stop battling his dark past.
Allie has lost her well loved SAR partner and is struggling to train her new dog, Scout. They just can not seem to bond. And if she would simply be truthful with herself its because she is holding back. She has created a wall to protect herself from her past, even if she doesn't fully realize it. But that bond needs to happen, the training needs to happen. Because 2 boys are lost and depending on her. In the middle of a wildfire.
And who better (worse?) to help her find the boys then Dakota? The same Dakota that she knew from years ago. The one she knew she wanted no more contact with. The one who says he has changed.
This series just keeps getting better. This book is my favorite so far! Lots of action. Lots of trust and forgiveness needed and found.

Charlie has been a firefighter for years. But this summer he has joined the Jude County Hotshots. He needed a change. He needs to be able to keep his secret hidden.
Jayne is running a fire academy for teens. She raised her son as a single mom at the academy and she is doing fine, thank you very much.
But there is a wildfire and its heading straight towards that academy. And Charlie's daughter is there. And a fellow Hotshot's, Orion, mom is also there.
This book heats up and not just from that Wildfire. As the future of the fire camp is uncertain with the wildfire heading their way, the past of Charlie and Jayne is also quickly coming to the present and heating things up as well.
So hard to give more details and not accidentally share a spoiler! Suffice it to say that I have recommended this book to friends....more

Not only was there action but laugh out loud happenings and characters! Camilla is from New York City and is a member of the 400. She is known in society as someone to be respected. She is also known as a matchmaker. But not everyone is interested in her matchmaking skills as is evidenced in an attempt to abduct her. Owen Chesterfield is a good man but not what you would call a gentleman. Well, not per the standards set by the 400. But when he sees a young woman and her companion being chased by bandits he does what any gentleman should do. He swoops in to save the "little lady". And that may have been his first mistake. lol Realizing that she needs to flee NY for her own safety Camilla accepts Owen's invitation to protect her in his home state of WV. An invitation that also has her agreeing to take Owen's sister in hand, to make her ready for NY society. A sister that has no interest in ribbons or bows. Or washing her face or combing her hair for that matter. And well, WV is not NY society. At all. But Camilla isn't just a NY society elite. She is tough. But is she tough enough to get through to Owen's sister and the rest of his family? Hang on, its going to be a fun ride. And let me just leave it there because the rest is just too fun to accidentally share something that should not be shared. But I will say this, the cast of characters you meet in WV had me smiling, laughing and "oh goodness-ing". I could never have dreamed up the shenanigans that occurred in WV. And I loved it! Absolutely loved it. Highly recommend....more

Action and suspense and a great story. This book has all three. Houston and Sophie have history together. But life and a misunderstanding have kept them apart for many years. Until a fire brings them together unexpectedly. Both have things from their past that have affected how they are living, what they are doing in the present. This book is action packed with the main characters having to deal with a raging fire, a dead body, and their shared history. The story line traveled very quickly with a few, “I didn't see that coming” occurrences. I enjoyed the relationship that built with Houston and Sophie reconnecting. I received an advanced copy of this book from Sunrise Publishing with the understanding that I would leave an honest review. This is what I have done. All opinions are my own. I would and have recommended this book to friends....more
