I don't even think I read the last few pages...so I guess that should tell you how I feel about the story.
I rated it 2 stars which means "it was ok." And it was "just ok." The writing was okay. The story line was ok. I think the main thing that held me back was the idea that I already kind of new what the story was about and where it was going. And it just didn't interest me; I didn't feel like there was any kind of "hidden secret" or suspense that would compel me to read on...And maybe I'm just a bit tired of the whole fairy realm.
SPOILER*ALERT:
Here's how it went down: (Mind you I probably don't have all the nitty gritty details because I basically skimmed the book.) 1. Fairy Girl takes an interest in Mortal Girl (So sad I don't even remember her name.) 2. Mortal Girl is supposed to be ordinary to fulfill some debt from the Fairy World. 3. Fairy Girl begins to "like" Mortal Girl and doesn't want to use her for payment. 4. So Queen sends Fairy Boy to "seduce" her so to say to make her pronounce her "ordinaryness". 5. Mortal Girl goes to Fairy World to pay debt. 6. Instead Fairy Queen realizes that it won't work out and sacrifices herself instead.
So, quite disappointing considering the amount of publicity this received....more
