It starts off with the MC having the word "Witch" Carved into her back by a demon. Someone keeps summoning demons and evil souls to harm the witch's family and sabotage her "trials". There is a local pack of hellhounds (werewolves) close by. The pack leader is absolutely infatuated with her and doesn't hide it. Of course, she is pushing him away because she doesn't want to ruin her trials or be married. The pack leader suddenly has to call upon the witch to exercise a demon/bad spirit out of a couple of their pack members.
During all of this happening Willow suddenly strikes a deal for marriage because one of her sisters is sick which sets off drama with the hellhounds and warlocks.
This story draaaaaaagged on and needs a little bit of cleaning up. The book would just not end. The author wouldn't summarize it so you are stuck skimming through a section in the middle and towards the end. However, it was still a decent story. I didn't think I would like it as much as I did. There's two/threeish romance scenes in this that are OK. Still debating on moving through this series.

The story takes place in a fantasy world where the religious entity decides to "cleanse" it's society of witches/those bit by a serpent. How they find those types of people is by others snitching or throwing others under the bus at "purification" rallys. The lead MC is a gifted witch who murders for a blackmailing noble. Someone decides to pull a reverse uno and blackmail the noble. The noble is not only hiding the witch but his daughter is a magical healer which is also forbidden by the religion. The witches the religion doesn't murder they drag to their headquarters and make them fight through a series of Hunger game trials. In the mixed of this there are vampires who are secretly fighting back against the religion and their main target is the head of the religion is a hypocrite and magical himself (he can't die). While trying to save everyone and escape the MC and a "Lord" fall for each other.
This wasn't what I expected at all and I didn't think I was going to like it this much. I saw the "Hallowed" and thought it was Halloween related. The tags for this book did not help that thought. This was a good read and it kept interested. This book was able to balance the right amount of violence, actions, events, and romance to keep the story going and non-generic. I wouldn't have thought of the story going this way at all at first glance. Also, I loved that it was an arena setting and it was a copy of Hunger Games which is what so many novels are doing right now. The author was able to individualize the story and plot.
The romance scenes were awesome in this book as well. The author was able to build up the tension between the characters. She was able to set a picture in the readers mind of what was happening, and she was able to show the connection between the characters.
Spice: 3.9/5

A old witch family used to control a town with their magic, and is bitter about losing control over the town. The new controlling family is thriving in town. Gwyn notices that a new shop has shown up across the street. Turns out it is the old family and a new shop. As this shop appears Gwyn's powers slowly dissipate. The shop is run by Wells, they start as enemies and then slowly realize they have feelings for each other. But soon as the investigation starts to heat up to find her magic so does the family drama.
This was a cute read. The ending took FOREVER to get through. I wish Erin would put less fluff in the middle, and then have her dramatic endings in her book or at least elaborate the spicy scenes. They are brief and vague giving off the impression that she is uncomfortable writing them. Other than that it's a decent read.

It's a story of a princess/hedge witch who was raised and hidden in the forest by her mom. Her mom left royalty after getting pregnant with a gaurd's baby. Him and his army fight dark magic, but the princess ends up using dark magic to save the knight who was send to unalive her (who turns into her lover). I was about to DNF at the 50% mark, but at the 51 % is when the book finally gets good. It speeds up pretty quick with a lot of repetitiveness. There is a spicy scene finally towards the end but it's vague. I received the arc for the third book so I will be pushing forward with the series. Hopefully, it's better than the first book in the series.

The MC goes through 3 tasks involving magic and etiquette. The main passes until the end where her dark magic comes out and ruins everything. Oh and she falls in love with her bodyguard.
Overall, this wasn't good or bad. It was just Meh. It builds as a first book would and the last 100 pages just drag and do nothing for the book.

This fast-paced romance is super cute and fun to read. A witch goes to adopt a cat at a local shelter. The "demon cat" that no one else seems to want gets along great with MC and then she takes him home where he starts to verbalize who he really is. The witch must use her powers to break the curse for the cat, meanwhile falling in love with the demon. I honestly did not expect the spiciness at all, but it was a great surprise. Next book is her sister and the demon's brother. So excited!...more

The MC is a 15 year old who gets pregnant. Her traditional and religious family abandon her at a group home for teenage pregnancy. While there they are emotional abused, made to participate in religious activities, made to give up their babies, controlled in every aspect of their life, and they have to work with a nasty narcissist doctor. 95% of the book has to do with their pregnancies and little to do with magic. It was awful to push through. I was waiting for the big Ah HAH moment or something interesting to happen. About 50% of the book hints start dropping about a possible coven. You can honestly skip most of the book, go right to chapter 19 and you won't miss a thing or falling asleep due to the previous 18 chapters.
Before chapter 19 you do read a lot of triggers including but not limited to: - Emotional Abuse -Religious abuse -S. Assault -Miscarriage/stillborn -forced child abandonment - medical/power abuse

It was ok. There is a lot in this book that doesn’t add to the story. The whole book could be cleaned up a bit. It was frustrating to the reader going through this and continuously asking, “OK, why is this important?”. The ending was drawn out a lot. The love story aspect and the ending were very cute and well done. You really do feel for Declan and Cary for the situation. Also, overall this wasn’t very witchy or spooky. It was a thriller once you start tying all the clues together. Very Cliché time traveling concept, gave Jumanji ending vibes....more

On cloud nine from this book. Probably one of the best books I have ever read. There are maybe 20 pages of slowness from the Hadleigh's and then the book takes off and does not stop. The author really tied it all together so nicely. From the extremely spicy romance scenes to continuously building the story while making you want your own perfect archdemon. This one is the POV of Everly and Callum and it's the best one. I really like how this story got it's own space and the couple grew throughout the book. What I really loved is their time in Hell. It would be so cool if Harley did a fourth book or more of the couples' time in Hell. The ending was perfect and tugs at your heart strings while dragging you through the ringer. LOVED IT!!!!!

I really really liked it, start to finish. The story of good vs. evil and cat and mouse. A witch is trying to free her people from being hunted. She keeps up a front as a aristocrat while she smuggles innocent witches from being persecuted. He is a witch hunter, who harbors animosity towards witches because the ones his family worked for were tortured and murdered by a group of witches who used banned magic. They both have a plan to use and fool the other for information to find a different witch. The ended had me shook!
This was another instance where I didn't look before I read. I assumed it was about a warrior, but this was so much better. It's pretty good, but the ending was awful and so all over the place. starting page 400 the author starts taking at least a paragraph of thoughts to one action sentence. It's really annoying and makes the story way longer than it needs to be. The two romance scenes are well written and enough detail you can tell what's happen. Also, the scenes were just different. Not the normal vanilla bed scenes. However, out of all the descriptions of the characters there isn't good descriptions of the characters so that's left up to your imagination. From the minimum description given, Graves sounds like professor Snap. The plot is really hard to describe, but it's good. The ending was messy and long, but of course it leads to you know that there is in fact more books coming.

Theme of this book similar to good vs evil. The whole time you will be wondering which is which (no pun intended). She really connects you to the characters in this book. The writing in this was so good and she kept the action going, to the point where you never get bored. SO GOOD! Hoping for more in this series?

This was really good! The plot is really good and keeps you on your toes the whole time. Basically, a witch hates the school that she gets dragged into by vampires. The house each witch is sorted into is determined by powers and bloodlines. Vampires are Vessels and throughout the book you have to determine who is causing the issues and who is telling the truth.
Romance scenes were OK. 2/5 for spice.
