V.M. Waitt......Had Me Taking In The Warm Summers Night Air In Nebraska reading the story of Elijah Morgan & Chase McKenzie.
It's quite something when a single person can have such a profound effect on another that they never forget them, no matter how many miles between them.

An avalanche of strong emotions fills my heart after reading this Trilogy.... I'm not afraid to say....I suffered at the hands of abuse.

This series has taken me through the labyrinth of MY MIND where dust and cobwebs have been in residence in the remotest part of my mind for a very, very, long time.
If I could broaden the definitions of words like “experience” and “journey” so that they properly conveyed the high levels of emotions, discomfort, understanding and ultimate safety I felt when reading this, well then I would use them. Nikki's expertise in the subject matter, is EXCEPTIONAL.
This kind of letting go while reading a story only happens when writers put their heart and soul into their work, their characters, Nikki Sex should be very proud of this trilogy it is OUTSTANDING.
From the opening page this was ME.....
Right up to the very end....jaw droppingly in awe of the whole story of Grant Wilkinson, and Renata Koreman - sex therapist and tortured sole herself. In healing Grant, she was healing too. As they face the struggles of their pasts.
Well, what can I say...the star of the book for me was André Chevalier. I could have definitely hopped on the therapists couch for him what a EXTRAORDINARY character.....I loved the whole french accent thingy I had going on in my head. I loved he's exuberance, and the way he connected with the other characters was fascinating.
I have immensely enjoyed this series .....and would highly recommend it.......it has been therapeutic, Fascinating, Absorbing, Hard, Insightful and refreshingly different......I hope if you get to read it...... you enjoy, as much as much as I have!! ...more
Nightingale........Yves Lacroix the very talented cabaret singer/entertainer who rises to stardom as the war rages in Nazi-occupied Paris. He draws the attention of an admirer Nazi Oberst Heinich von Starck, but he is not alone in he's adoration for Yves. Young German foot soldier Falk Harfner, is also in awe.
This is a story steeped in.....History, Pain, Love. Hope. Fear.
'Paris had been a city that never slept. Even now, it didn't sleep – merely cowered under the foot of the invader'
I could picture the smoky atmosphere of Chez Martine, the stage, the audience, feel the music drift over me. I can hear the characters voices, the prompt clicking of the Nazi heels, the emphasis and attitude are all well placed.
The unavoidable feelz you get when immersed in a Voinov novel, quite literally takes your breathe away. A tightening in your chest, the tears that want to cascade from your eyes as you try to hold them back mercilessly. Or the smile that wants to break out like the dawn of a new day.
Aleks writing does this to me, effortlessly.
Most definitely my favourite author of all time.
This waz my 1st read of 2016, what a way to start the year.....read it, feel it, love it...just as much as I did.....I know you will!!!

SOMETIMES, A TRUE friend can come to you from the most extraordinary circumstances.
[image] This story, OH MY, this story..........
Swelled my heart beyond belief, made me angry, made me laugh, and yes of course made me cry.
Alex Alexandrowicz's story, one of such Disturbing Miscarriages of Justice.
THIS IS A TRUE STORY, about a Suspected Soviet Spy....Prisoner No. 789959 and British Actress Fiona Fullerton, in the late 1970's and 80's.
A friendship that spans over many years.
These letters Alek's wrote to Fiona, made me feel like I had uncovered a dusty old box in a attic. Upon opening it, finding the box full of ageing photo's, diaries and at the very bottom, were a stack of old letters and poems addressed either,
My Dear Friend,...... Hello Princess,.......
My Dear Fiona........Hello Dreamy.......
Intrigued I begin to read them, looking over my shoulder hoping no one will catch me snooping at these beautiful, extraordinarily poignant letters.
LETTERS I JUST COULDN'T PUT DOWN!!
I darted back and forth between the never ending need for more, while at times crippled with sadness at what Aleks had to endure.
Alek wrote with great passion, great humour, wisdom, and such despair, he's letters were all encompassing, I don't think I'll ever forget some of them.
Note....I would love for people to read this wonderful book, unfortunately the drawback is the cost. I have no idea why it is so expensive....such a shame. A kindle copy is $14.35, but what I did was I got a nearly new hardback copy for $6.00...which was in perfect condition and I'm so glad I did, as it is a book I will keep forever.
I simple loved Alek's
Aleks was released from Prison in 1993 - 22 years after his arrest!!...more

I won't lie...this left me within my own labyrinthine of thoughts.

“Take heart, my friend,” he says quietly, in his soothing velvet voice. “Do not despair. You simply move one step and then another. You keep going. Before you know it,” he snaps his fingers. “Voila. You have arrived. It took more than one day to arrive at this dark place, no? It will take more than one day to escape from here.” ~ Andre

Don't Take My Word For It, Mary Berry Thought It Was Awesome!!
Alexis Hall is one of my guiltiest of guilty pleasures... I just love he's writing....Beautiful, Meaningful, Thoughtful.
It's that intangible thing that we all recognize but would be hard pressed to truly describe. Like human behavior and how to translate that onto a page......well, this is what Hall does so exquisitely.
Two guys, two completely different lives, different ages, with pasts and ideas and wants and misunderstandings.....full of mottled emotions...drawn together.
[image] Laurie
Laurence Dalziel aka Laurie is worn down and washed up, fed up with the BDSM scene. But he's friends have other idea's and persuade Laurie he needs a night out , this is where he meets Toby.
I liked Laurie, I warmed to him gradually..... Laurie kept his feeling very much closeted, but when he loved, he loved deep.
Toby Finch. Nineteen years old. Fearless, Fierce, and Vulnerable.
[image] Toby
[image]
Toby wore his heart on his sleeve, and I instantly loved him, he knew what he wanted sexually , what he fantasized about. But was uncertain if he was going about it the right way, feeling safe and excited all at once.
I wouldn't normally pick up a BDSM book, although I have read a few and enjoyed them....like I said this is Mr Hall's work...so yeah I'm gonna read it!!
If you like your KINK with a capital 'K' and a side order of Very Kinky Fuckery...plus throw in a slice of Lemon Meringue Pie.....your in for a REAL treat..it's HOT, intimate of full of feelzzz!

Don't think I'll ever look at a Lemon Meringue Pie again without MY cheeks heating up thinking about this book *dear lawd – gulps*
Bravo Mr Hall....excellent in execution and presentation.....DELICIOUS

For Some, Everyday Life is a Balancing Act. [image]
Paris Duvoe is a rich tortured famous abstract artist. Used, abused and controlled by his sister Julia. Painting is what sets him free from the monsters that lurk in his head.

Trapped, the only way I could silence the nightmares driving me to insanity was to wrap them in color, hold them with shadow, and stitch them to negative space with line.
Until Roy Callahan, walks into his life.
“No one hears me.” “I hear you.” “No one cares.” “I do.” “No one believes.” “I believe you. Every word.”
This story touched me to my very soul, it's not your everyday love story, as between the chaos and the hope ….. love shines through..... it transcends the pages it is written on ...and I dreamed a dream for Paris Duvoe and those like him.
What would life be like filled with simple moments like this? For time to be measured in heartbeats and exhales rather than seconds and minutes.
What would it feel like to know I was safe, not because of a lock on the door but because of the line of warmth pressed against me and the weight of an arm around my ribs?
I couldn't possibly convey the sweet agony of this Dark ~ yes, Disturbing ~ yes, Beautiful ~ yes... story portrayed.
You'll just have to take my word for it, READ IT, it's not to be missed...

I applaud Adrienne Wilder what a brilliant writer, and another superb read.

MORGAN [image]
This wonderful story...I truly was in awe.. ...damn if I'm still wiping happy tears from my face as I write this - in fact the last 5% I was rubbing hard, the tears that fell from my eye's. Making ugly noises.
The other half said “For god sake go and get a tissue or something and blow your nose” YES, I GAVE HIM THE STINK EYE ....
.....how could I put into words that I had just read about the most remarkable, inspiring individual with ethereal beauty, I had ever had the pleasure of reading about.
GRANT [image]
This story is told in Grant's POV, I loved Grant...he's honesty, fears, love.
[image]Never , not in a million years or a million lifetimes, will there be anyone else who has what I want." ~ Grant
I'm not going to tell you about the story, as I believe you should read this going in blind, what I will say is, it is not just extraordinary, it's sexy, fun, flirtatious. There's oodles of suspence, drama that will keep you on the edge of your seat, pretty near perfect combination if you ask me!!!
Adrienne Wilder is new to me, to say I'm blown away by the writing is an understatement.....and the dedication at the front of the book I simply loved.
I had already waltzed into this story with a glow, then at the 20% mark....
It felt like a strong steady hand caught me around the waist and took my breathe away, whisking me around the dance floor...I was breathless, dizzy. In the moment. I was dancing in the dark, dazzled by the facets of light drifting above my head from the disco ball......totally lost in the music, this story ....Morgan and Grants story. And from then on, I never wanted to be let go.
It's been along time since I've been swept off my feet......anyone care to dance!!
The supporting cast...Aunty Jenny and the folk of Durstand...... were fantabulous, and charming. I would have LOVED to have had a drink and a moon pie with the locals watching this story unfurl in front of my very eyes and listerning to the town's folk GOSSIP.
I was so in awe, when the 3 grizzly bears wearing pink tutu's started dancing down the dusty road......uhhhhrrrr!!!! OH, so your still awake .....I've still got your attention then!!! Only kidding , 3 bears now come on I'm playing with y'all.
No seriously, if your still reading this....there is really only one thing to say.....
Everybody deserves to be loved, GIVE love, RECEIVE love.
PLEASE read this extraordinary book, I'm positive you'll fall in love, be swept off your feet...just like me....or I'll eat my hat!!

Lee was the star of this story for me, he held my attention throughout the book, calling to me...yes I wanted to climb inside my kindle and wrap my arms around him, save him...and SLAY EVERY MOTHERFU#kER WHO DARED LAY A HAND ON HIM!!
The Island begins with Shaw a trusted facilitator traveling to a remote private Pacific Island invited by crime boss Vornis, to sell a stolen Cézanne painting to the villian.
Vornis is pure evil, a monster, powerful wealthy, important.
For Shaw, this met is everything he has been working towards....to be trusted by this power man. Years of planning.
SHAW [image]
"I'm glad you're here, Shaw. I have been growing a little bored with nothing to do except play with my toy" ~ Vornis
Vornis's toy was the American captive Lee. Beaten, drugged, raped within a inch of his life.
Lee always walked with his eyes down, and the island revealed all it's secrets to him.
How many sand dollars today
Twelve was a good number.
Lee closed his eyes and tried to regulate his breathing.
He hated the way the anticipation alone made him tremble.
I'll admit I was quite conflicted on the rating of this book, on the one hand the writing was amazing...I'll take my hat off to Lisa Henry for keeping me completely absorbed in this heartbreaking story, it will definitely be going on my creme de la creme shelf. But and it's a BIG BUT....
