Overall: 4.5/5 stars
I actually liked how Rishi was adamant that Dimple really consider her position on marriage. Yes, they're 19-years-old and won't be getting married for a while, but Rishi was mature enough to realize that if they kept ignoring it and intertwined their lives further, it would be even more painful if they broke up down the road.
I also liked how As Kismet Would Have It demonstrated how Dimple and Rishi were unwilling to give up their dreams. However, Dimple's dream is to be independent and have an amazing career and have Rishi. Rishi's dream is to get married, have a family, celebrate his family's traditions, and enjoy his comic work. Dimple was resistant to the patriarchal construct and history of marriage. But, I liked how the novel made her confront her true feelings – so many feminists feel like "bad feminists" because they like things that have been feminized (pink, makeup, high heels, etc.) But, to borrow a line from my When Dimple Met Rishi review, feminism acknowledges the sexist and misogynistic history of why those things have been feminized which is what we hope to challenge and disrupt.
Safety Rating: Safe (view spoiler)[ • No cheating • No OW/OM drama • Does have the Hero pushing the Heroine away • Does have a (short) separation (10 days) (hide spoiler)]
