I loved the book as a whole don’t get me wrong but I feel like it didn’t need to be almost 700 pages. After the first 60% Lennon gets SO frustratingly annoying, things start getting super repetitive and I just wasn’t as glued to the book as I initially was. But Phoenix ...more
So, Zade is basically this stalkerish, sexually depraved version of Dexter… or well that’s the vibe I get. And I’m here for it.
I really d2.5-2.75 ⭐️

I really dig the concept of this book but I feel it could have been executed so much better. I’m a huge fan of dark and twisted romance but this didn’t quite hit the spot. Not really impressed with the writing as a whole and look I get that this is an erotica book first and foremost but jc my air pods couldn’t hold a charge for the amount of sex that’s in this book (can’t exactly have this audiobook blaring through the house) it was too much. It’s not even that the sex was cringy or triggering Bc it wasn’t it just got so repetitive and boring. Look there really is such a thing as too much of a good thing? However that saying goes. Lol
All in all I enjoyed it for what it was, I don’t think it lives up to the hype at all. I’ll read the second one of course Bc now I need to know what happens.

When I read Mist and Fury for the first time I was positive that nothing could top it. And then I read Wings and Ruin.
I could honestly argue as to why each one is a favorite of mine...which one is my favorite? That's a harder questions than most life decisions...
ˏˋ°•*⁀➷ ♡•°`. I think SJM is capable of jedi mind tricks and just knows exactly what I want in a book and then delivers even more.
I mean, whew... what a mf ride! Again! I'm telling you, I could never get bored with this series. Third time reading this book and I love it just as much as the first time.
The pain is no less agonizing, the love is no less bursting, the rage is no less fiery.
SJM sets up the perfect KO in my opinion. Readers are taken through the emotions in Mist and Fury and left wondering after the cliffhanger- and then tossed back into Prythian with Feyre being a total badass. Political maneuvering, battles, war, unexpected allies... I mean, just all out anxiety inducing sequences.
ˏˋ°•*⁀➷ ♡•°`. I feel like only Maas has the capability to make me ugly cry and sob for a particular character - I feel like anyone else would have dropped the ball on that one. But damn, I'm still distraught over it after multiple re-reads.
Alright, maybe not the only author - but I can't think of another one right now, so that's saying something.
I love the entire Maasverse so much that I'll continue to read them over and over again each year.
