Not necessarily my favorite story but definitely well written. It has a lot of emotions running through it that for someone who has a lot of empathy could be somewhat overwhelming. However at the same time could make for a great story. The author did just that. And just because I said it wasn’t my favorite doesn’t mean I didn’t like it. We all have preferences. So in saying this let’s give a little back story of what it entails. Barrett is part of the law firm that just won a big case for the people of Blue Point Chemical Plant accident. Being tasked with staying in New Orleans to make sure everyone receives what they are entitled to. This win also came with a job offer. An offer he would really like to take but knows he has obligations to his family, but he didn’t outright refuse. He was given the time it took to wrap up the case to make a decision. What will he choose? Lou knew Barrett was different. She also knew she was attracted to him. But did she deserve him? Was he good enough for her? Those are all insecurities we all deal with. Singing is what she knows and loves, but can Barrett be that too. There’s a lot to her story. Especially her rollercoaster past. It wasn’t all bad but the events of that time are influencing her now. What will happen between Lou and Barrett? What job will Barrett choose? There’s so many questions one could ask to keep them interested. And not ones you may already know the answer too. Which is also the sign of a great writer. So in saying that give this book and author a chance. It may be just what you’re looking for. ...more

I was really confused trying to figure out what was going on. It starts with Annie’s baptism then automatically jumps back hundreds of years in time. I understand now it was to build the backstory it all ties together. In saying all that, trust me when I say give this book a chance. I considered giving up on it, but I’m glad I didn’t and pushed through. It was definitely worth it. Definitely different in its own right, but at the same time falls right in line with other books in the genre once you figure it all out. I’m all about supernatural elements in stories but the tragedy in this story is sad but it breeds love and happiness. Again I’ll say read it, don’t let confusion force you to put it down because you will be missing out! ...more

The author offers up a story that has you rooting for the 2 main characters for different reasons. A book you don’t want to put down. As an introduction to this author it’s the perfect book to have you craving more. Happily married, unfortunately doesn’t last long. A loveless marriage, unfortunately that lasts longer than it should. Those are the beginning fates of the 2 main characters. She was the one who got away. Tommy never let Angie go, but he has to be a man and understand she’s happily married now. It’s his own fault but that doesn’t mean it doesn’t twist something inside of him. Upon learning she’s with child is his wake up call. He’s been coasting through life, but that’s not what he really wants. He wants what she has, love and family. But when tragedy strikes he steps up for her. Angie lost her husband. Not that she’s willing to accept that he’s gone. She’s pregnant and alone, even though she’s surrounded by people. Of all people Tommy ends up being the friend she needs. The sound board for her emotions. Not only allowing her to truly forgive him for hurting her, but their friendship to grow into something neither of them ever expected. Now that he’s going through a separation/divorce she feels it’s her turn to return the favor and be there for him. What neither of these 2 truly realize is that they still have feelings for each other. And now that truly know one another those feelings run deeper than expected. Unfortunately neither one of them understands it. Will this be their time? Will Angie and Tommy finally have their happily ever after? So many questions and so many answers. This book time jumps, which at times I don’t care for. In this case it works. Well written with and excellent display of growth for both main characters it makes for a great read!...more

Which should tell you how I feel about the author! Anyway, Saint Con was great! I feel like it may have been on the shorter end story wise but didn’t take anything away from what was presented. Jess and Connor(Saint Con as he is known) are our main characters as well as lawyers. Now that tidbit wasn’t surprising knowing who the author is. Both of which failed at an attempt to serve their faith. Yet they still help others in their profession. Connor’s help of the less fortunate is honorable. They also met at a wine bar and Connor instantly knew she was it for him. How was he going to convince her? Be persistent but let her have the reins. Seemed like a great plan till he didn’t show up for their first date. Jess feeling like he didn’t care gave up on him, not realizing a tragic accident was keeping him away. What happened? How will this impact what was growing between them? It’s one of those books that reads like you’re watching a movie. Are you team Jess or are you team Connor comes into play. Either way you just want everyone to be happy. The author displays a great deal of emotion and sacrifices these characters have to make to be there. Love, compassion, lies of omission, family, ect all there beautifully wound together in a great story.

One that started off a little slow but got better once it started to move. The author brings us a main character who not only needs to overcome her family’s name and history, but once found out that she lied to everyone in the small town about it. Which makes for an interesting set of circumstances. Does everything work out? I guess you will just have to crack open the book and see. Abby has ingrained herself into the lives of the people of Herd. All while carrying a big secret that could ruin it all. Just like her ancestors ruined the livelihoods of so many in the town not once but twice years and years ago. She needs to claim her family’s land before it lapses but by doing so she will also have to come forward. How will the town feel? What about the remaining 2 families of the original three founding ones? Joe’s research leads her to believe it’s not going to go all too well. Joe knows there’s something off about Abby. A bigger adventure with it’s own obstacles to overcome to get to the conclusion. This would be Aroz & Vanessa’s story/connection. Picking up where The God left off the whole story takes place within a 72 hour period. Being this is Aroz’s journey with Vanessa, there’s less Grey, which is a little depressing(I definitely have an affinity for him.) There’s also some more Raef, which was lost during book 2. Hazel Storm presents this story in mainly four different points of view, with a minor fifth, it’s easy to follow! Taking place in all three realms, Underworld, Overworld, and Upperworld, more questions are answered and more come about. I would like to wish this series would never end, even if it does it will always have a place in my mind & heart. Please if you come across this book but haven’t read the first two, read those first. It’ll be well worth it. Now time to sit back and wait for The Box to be released!

It’s also a bigger exploration of Vanessa and Grey’s dynamic together. I don’t want to spoil book 1 for anyone looking for a new series to read. You need to read both and in order! Throughout this book, I begin to fall more in love with Grey and why he is the way he is. Again there’s a lot of characters but it all works, every character fits. Hazel Storm may very well be my new romance author. Any questions left unanswered from book 1 will be answered throughout this book, and more will come to fruition. I think the best part is these books so far take place within the same month that has yet to end.

In Forever to Fall the next one to fall is Mallory. Well actually she may have fallen years ago but never had her chance. The author tells her story in a way that shows wonderful character growth but also the main characters need to self-sacrifice even when it hurts. Beckett is back. Well he just moved to Buckeye Falls and he knows this is where the one who got away lives. His grandfather’s dying wish was for him to get his girl. Easier said than done. 1st step: move to where she is. 2nd step: he hasn’t figured that out yet. Evan is the issue, he’s his best friend but also the brother of the woman he’s been pinning for, for years. How can he go for what he wants? Mallory is in a frenzy knowing Beckett just moved to her town. He’s the one he always has been, but he doesn’t feel the same way. Or so she thought. And then there’s the matter of Nana’s ring. A ring she always thought would be hers, but Evan wants it. Downside she takes the pain and says congratulations it’ll be perfect for Cece, all the while she’s emotionally destroyed inside. Not only does Beckett see it but her sister does too! Evan seems to be oblivious to notice. Just like he’s too oblivious to notice how she feels about his best friend. Can her and Beckett coexist for those around them? Will they always be awkward with one another? Or will they finally take the chance they’ve always wanted? It’s a wonderful addition to the series. It’s one long story told over the series, where each of the masters falls. This time it was Master Bistrita’s turn. Chara has a lot going on. Worried about her friend, worried about what’s going on, potentially being in danger ect. Never did she expect a vampire master to be on her radar. Especially after she stood up to him and gave him a peace of mind while checking up on her friend. Never believing in fated mates that all changed after Master Bistrita came to her rescue there’s something there, which exactly needs to be explored. Master Bistrita doesn’t have time to lust after someone, a human at that. He needs to locate Lucas to end this war with the rogues. But Chara is a presence he can’t deny. She’s more and he wants all of her. Unfortunately his worry for her is impeding his judgment while trying to finish the war. Will Chara and Bistrita give in? Will they locate Lucas? Again I don’t want this series to end. I’m glad there’s one more book to look forward too! It’s so worth it! This one was good not one of my favorites but good all the same. ...more

In saying that I know that the books do not have to be read in order this book works extremely well as a standalone. Though you may want to go back to find out the other detective's story. At the same time I’ve been busy so I couldn’t jump in right away. Wild King is a great addition to the series. The author wrote an entertaining story that’s very enjoyable with some adventure now. A story that you won’t want to end. A weekend getaway turned into their biggest obstacle. Kellen needed the time away. So when he decided to spend his weekend in a tropical climate, he knew he wanted to find some company. What he didn’t expect was his desire to keep that company around. Salem’s vacation was coming to a close. While trying to enjoy her final night, this man crashes her party. He’s rude and obnoxious, but persistent which is intriguing to her. When she decides to take him up on his offer of a night of no strings fun, she agrees under one condition. They don’t share their names. When their weekend is upended by crisis control back home for Kellen he never thought he’d see her again. Boy was he wrong. Salem is now the fixer that’s been hired to clean up his disaster of a life. Living together for 3 months will be no easy task but Salem is convinced she can keep things professional. Does she cross the line? How does Kellen come out of this? He’s not happy. And she has a plan. However it will cause more questions but the author gives yoi the answers throughout the story. Will Salem tame the wild King?
