Is this a romance book? I think so?? Can it be a romance book with two people* who can't communicate with each other, have fundamentally different biomes, and there is a sort of HFN ending?
Regardless, I LOVED this story.
You have to have a little bit of an open mind with this one. It's tentacle-y with an outstanding BFF/crusty fisherman side character, and a whole lot of humor and charm. There is lots of athletic sex and pining, and this story takes place over a surprisingly long time-span. It's a short book but it feels like it's longer, in the best of ways.
I don't really know how to describe this story fully, and I don't want to give anything away. Just know that this book is hot, romantic, interesting, and knocked me off my feet. I'm reading Amanda Meuwissen's whole backlist now.
I've been on an alien romance kick that doesn't seem to be letting up any time soon, so adding more tentacles to the mix sounded like a great idea.

Yes, tentacles. I kind of love them.
But Integrate was a bit of a mixed bag for me. I felt like we were thrust into a world with sort of unclear parameters and guidelines, almost like there was a prequel story I was missing. I wasn't sure what was going on in the beginning, and add in the mystery element and I was even more clueless.
The romance was a bit insta-lovey for me, even though they had known each other for years. I usually don't like it when a romance is a friends-to-lovers situation, but it was okay here. I just wanted more build-up to the LOVE parts. The tentacle parts were fun, though.
I understand why people really enjoy this one, and I did too, but it didn't quite tick of all the boxes for me.
Ugh, TENTACLES and still only two stars? I wanted this to be amazing SO BADLY.

I listened to Acsquidentally in Love in audio, and I was DOWN and all for it... at first. It was fun, silly, and sexy, but then things got really repetitive. I had issues.
Let's talk narration. I've gone from a John Solo hater to a lover to... something. I have met him in person, and I really like him, and I've 5-starred a bunch of his audiobooks, but this book wasn't him at his best. He gave it his all, but he sounded so goofy. I just struggled with it all. I couldn't even be bothered to finish the last 20%, and that says a LOT. I think mostly it was the writing and not the narration, but it was a struggle regardless.
I found the plot to be too sexual (weird for me to say, I know- I'm cringing) but not sexy at the same time. I ended up skimming a lot of the sex scenes. The plot was a mystery but just really convoluted, and a bit too repetitive. I was into it at first, but then it went on for too long and it got boring.
I love, love, love this kooky little spicy alien romance series, and I don't want it to end!

I know there are only two books, but these tentacle-sex, tender, unexpected romance books have stolen my bruised, jaded 2021 heart. Thank you, Lyn Gala, for these books.

There is no way to describe my love for this book without sounding like a kinky freak, but who am I kidding, I *AM* a kinky freak!
Earth Fathers Are Weird has been on my wishlist forever, but I finally got around to getting it in audio. I have mixed feelings about John Solo's narrations sometimes, but he absolutely nailed the audio. Truly incredible narrating, and I highly recommend getting this book in audiobook format.
Is this book M/M romance?? It's more like M/? romance, if I'm being honest. Rick isn't a guy, not in any traditional or non-traditional sense, but Max sees him as a man so ???. In fact, gender doesn't matter much with this book, but let's just say that Rick and Max turn out to be VERY compatible *wink, wink*
Though it sounds terrible when I type it out, I sort of loved the language barrier and tricked into surrogacy plotline (YES I KNOW THAT SOUNDS PROBLEMATIC). The set-up was interesting and really unique for me, and I just adored how everything played out. There is actually a lot of love and sweetness there, and I really dug how Max was able to look past Rick's physical appearance and get to know him for the person (??) that he is. Max is fierce when he is defending those he loves, and I adored that.
And the sex.... ASHJFLSDJFLJS FLSJ. Let's just say, tentacles, baby!! Those are some talented appendages. I couldn't get enough.
In short, this is an oddball story that won't be in line with most readers' tastes. But for me.... bring on the alien romances!!

TENTACLES! SEX! TENTACLE-SEX!
What more could a girl ask for?
This was such a fun little story! It broke my tentacle-sex V card (thanks, Lilia!), and it broke it hard. I liked the dub-con/non-con aspect of it (pretty light for those of you who are afraid of hard non-con), and I loved the world-building. Lilia, write more sci-fi! It suits you.
Basically, this is a dystopian m/m erotic story about a guy who is disciplined by some kinky, BDSM-y tentacle monsters. It isn't a romance, for those who are interested, and has only the barest hint of a possible relationship between the MC and one of his captors. In fact, I think the most tender relationship was between Benji and the "kid sister" tentacle monster named Kitty.
However, it was a really nice little story with a very interesting premise. I enjoyed it for all of it's kinky goodness, and I'll be looking for more stories about tentacles up in naughty places in the future.

This is like a mix between a BDSM book about TPE (total power exchange), a yaoi, and a sci-fi book about alien cultures and costumes. What is ISN'T is PWP. There is soooo much plot here. My inner geek was having a field day at the discussions of words and their origins, social rules in Rownt society, and the whole concept of a palteia. It is a fascinating book, and sci-fi nerds and kinky m/M lovers will both adore this.
I'll admit, I sort of wish there was a nanite-equivalent (The Last Pure Human reference, anyone??) so Ondry's 3-foot appendage could get in on the action, but I'll settle for what we got in the story.
Fun, fascinating, and kinky, I just HAVE to move right on to book 2!...more
