Coming of age story set in the 60s American South. Admittedly not my kind of read (I read for a book club) and I felt that this subject has been a bit overdone. The story was a bit unlikely and cliche.
However, I felt it was beautifully written. The settings and descriptions were vivid. The narrative voice was strong and likable. I did enjoy the information about the bees and honey....more
