Well, I can’t say I loved it, but I see from varying reviews there are many people who have. My main worry going into this book was about, it having so many characters I honestly thought I’d find it hard to follow, but thankfully the author made it easy to follow in that regard.
Family dramas such as divorce and relationships woes were plentiful in this book so much so I began to lose interest and I found my mind was elsewhere. I feel I might be on the outer on this one as many people loved it and found it rather funny. This was an okay read for me and maybe it was just the wrong time for me to read this book, but nevertheless don’t let my review stop you from picking this book up because you too may really enjoy it like many other readers have.

This truly is a breathtaking and extremely interesting read and one in which I found very difficult to put down. Lucy and her husband Jem live on the Tasman Peninsula near Eaglehawk Neck. It is here where Lucy is recovering from major surgery. Being a breast cancer survivor has not only made Lucy look at her life differently, but it has also caused a great impact on her husbands life as well as those closest to them. But this is so much more than a woman surviving breast cancer and I must say when I read what this story was about I was hesitant as I didn’t think I would really enjoy this book, but I’m so glad I was wrong.
The Tasmanian landscape is beautifully written in this story and the way the author has entwined the whole story together is just outstanding. Aussie author Erin Hortle has written an unforgettable story which I thoroughly enjoyed. Highly recommended.

But when Charlie looks closely at the picture she quickly realises it’s no mistake because it’s a photo that she took of him.
Charlie confronts Oliver about being on the dating app and he denies it. Charlie can’t let it go and decides to do a bit of detective work herself, but perhaps she should’ve left things alone because all is not as it seems as Charlie quickly finds out.
Aussie author Pip Drysdale has once again written another book that keeps her readers up late turning the pages looking for answers. Intriguing thriller with a psychological twist that I couldn’t put down. Highly recommended.

Locked away in jail was the best spot for him as far as they were concerned. But jail could be a lonely and a very bad place and Caleb was finding this out very quickly after being beaten up rather badly.
The one person who might be able to help stop Caleb from being beaten up was his father. Once Vernon visits Caleb he knows he can’t simply stand by and let the beatings go on even though Caleb only has himself to blame for ending up in jail. Attempting to stop the beatings will mean Vernon must mix with some very tough people which could lead to putting his whole family in danger, but if he doesn’t try Caleb may never survive in prison.
I was really looking forward to reading this book and after reading the first few chapters I must say I wasn’t overly keen on it. But a bit further on and I began to enjoy it and found myself totally absorbed in the story and before I knew it I was on the last page. Snake Island by Aussie author Ben Hobson was another well composed and very entertaining read which I highly recommend.

Six Minutes by Aussie author Petronella McGovern is a debut novel and what a fabulous book it was. When I began this book I wasn’t sure what to expect and I must admit it was a little slow to begin with, but once I got into the story a bit more it soon became an intriguing page turner. HaAfter a tragic event occurs young mother Melisandre Dawes life will never be the same, but the question remains is Melisandre guilty or not guilty. Having never read any books by this author I wasn’t sure what to expect when I started reading this book. I must say the format is set out differently to what I’m use to and perhaps that’s why I didn’t enjoy it as much as I would’ve liked.
I liked this book, but I didn’t love it. Yes it was a mystery/ thriller, but it certainly didn’t have me on the edge of my seat. I think this will be a book some readers will love it and some won’t. I myself thought it was an easy read, but I thought it was missing something. Hush Hush by Laura Lippman is the twelfth book in the Tess Monaghan series. Although I wasn’t fussed about this book I would still like to read more by this author.

The year is 1939 in Berlin, widower Amanda Sternberg must flee Nazi Germany with her two young daughters. Heading towards France, Amanda is hoping they will be safe, but sadly this may not be the case.
As the years go by we learn of the struggles, deaths and torture that so many went through during these times and I must say it was heartbreaking to read about this. Something most us have never been through and it just seems unimaginable what these men, women and children went through. Husbands being taken away from their families and then children being separated from their mothers.
This is a really beautifully written historical fiction tale which I highly recommend. With thanks to Simon & Schuster for my copy to read and review. ...more

The Wonder of Lost Causes by Nick Trout is a magnificent story of a woman named Kate who works as an veterinarian at an animal shelter and is a single parent raising her son, Jasper. Sadly Jasper is suffering from the horrible disease of Cystic Fibrosis.
Working at the animal shelter can be a rewarding job, but it can also be stressful and emotional especially when some dogs can’t find a home and the shelter starts to run out of room. On one of Kate’s shifts a black dog comes in named Whistler and straight away you can see he has been mistreated rather badly. After numerous blood test and scans, Whistlers health is worse than they first thought. When Jasper comes in contact with Whistler he immediately feels a connection and it doesn’t take long for the pair to bond. Jasper has always wanted a dog, but with his health condition and where they live it’s never been possible. But Jasper won’t let up this time and he does all he can trying convince his mother that they should adopt Whistler. Just when he thinks he might’ve won his mother over something happens and to change everything.
I can’t express how much I enjoyed and LOVED this book so much so that at times I had to put it down and stop reading as I couldn’t bare to find out what was going to happen. There were so many twists and turns in this book which I didn’t see coming. An emotional roller coaster that had me hooked from the start all the way to the very last page. This is truly an extraordinary story about a boys fight against a horrific disease and his love and special bond of a dog that needs a home. Highly, highly recommended.
