I really do love a good stalking with my romance, don't you?
Brooke Bartlett has been living in fear for a year now and coming home to Baldwin's Shore might not have been something she saw for her future, but it is somewhere safe, or so she thinks.
After her friend’s birthday party, a year ago, Brooke wakes up and doesn't feel quite right. She knows something happened last night, but her head is all foggy and she can't quite put the pieces together. There is no use reporting a crime when she can't even remember what might or might not have happened. Now, being back home she thought she would be safe but notes and other "gifts" are arriving at her door, and she doesn't feel even remotely safe. On top of all that her brother's best friend is back in town after nearly 8 years and she once loved Luca. It might have been years since she has seen him those feelings are still very much alive and from the moment, she sees him again it is like no time has passed.
Luca needs to steer clear of Brooke Bartlett. He broke her heart and his when he rejected her all those years ago, but her brother would never understand if he started seeing his little sister. Now after being overseas, he has grown up from the hot-headed kid he once was but with a stalker going after Brooke, he knows he can't stay away from her. He has to protect her, after all he always loved her and just because he can't be with her doesn't mean he won't do everything he can to keep her safe.
As Brooke and Luca start to spend more time together both realize that keeping their feelings at bay is no longer an option. They can handle what comes their way with her brother but first they have to find the stalker that won't seem to leave Brooke alone. One wrong decision could lead Brooke further into danger than she is already in. Can Luca keep his word and protect the woman he loves?
Dirty Little Secrets was my first Elise Noble book and let me just say THAT ENDING! I did not see that coming at all which is a huge bonus. There were a couple times in the book that I thought this information isn't necessary, but it didn't hinder my opinion on the story. Luca was everything delicious and hunky that you could as for plus that protective instinct he has was intense! With the way the book ended I am looking forward to book two and finding out exactly what is going on with the mystery man that saved the day...

Nottingham Hearts is a steamy and fresh take on the classic Robinhood with a dose of secret society, a touch of revenge and all the spice your kindle can handle. Your panties on the other hand might not survive it. Which was no hardship by the way.
Let's talk about the boys briefly because I don't think there has ever been a reverse harem that has had me guessing on who is good or who is bad or who is just.... Well, you'll see!! August, Silas, Caleb, and Emerson might be elite boys of Locksley Hall but there is so much more to them than I think I even know!
Yes, this book was long but with everything that happens within these pages, trust me, it is worth it. This book quite literally starts off with a bang and doesn't let up much throughout to the end.
While I have kept this review brief it is because I am still reeling. There is not just one theme or trope occurring throughout these pages. S.M. Cato giving us a bit from each character only amped up the roles each character played.
Last bit, check your triggers! This book goes deep into trauma for some of the characters as well as other things that might not be for everybody. Do your due diligence and read the trigger warnings.

If you haven't read J C Bryer yet you might not know this, but her stories are unlike anything you will ever read. Even in short stories such as this her characters are always fully developed so you can't help but root for them and wherever their ending may lead.
This Halloween adjacent story might be short, but it packs a punch. If creepy circus vibes, a bit of darkness and you know zombies eating... well more than brains is your thing then I know you will love this story as much as I did.
Oh, and did I mention this is a reverse harem? Yeah, that is right. Not one, not two but three wickedly delicious creatures for you to sink your teeth into.

D.L. Howe made me fall in love with Jack many books ago, edging me for what feels like years, but they say patience is a virtue and mine has paid off!D.L. Howe made me fall in love with Jack many books ago, edging me for what feels like years, but they say patience is a virtue and mine has paid off! Defying My Duty gave me the best happily ever after I could have ever dreamed of and more. So much more.
Jack thought he had lost it all when he left Kansas and his ex-partner behind. What better place to start fresh than middle of nowhere Texas after all. Piper Falls wasn't just a spot on the map, he is out for a King and there is nothing that is going to get in the way of that.
Enter Tatum, the author escaping her troubles from the big city here in his little town. Not only is she gorgeous but there is a story to tell there. After one afternoon of protection detail, and a brief coffee Jack knows he just found the one.
Tatum didn't know what to expect upon arriving in Piper Falls but an impromptu book signing and a hot as sin detective guarding her back was certainly not it. All it takes is one afternoon before Tatum is completely smitten with the tall, dark, and handsome man.
What comes next is a series of events so shocking that you won't know whether to hold your breath, throw the book or just pray that this story turns out the way you hoped it would.
D.L. is one of my favorite authors, I have read everything she has published, and it never fails to amaze me how she is able to find new and tortuous ways to surprise me with every book.
While Jack's story did have an epic happily ever after, the journey to that happily ever after was not paved with good intentions so check those triggers. I don't know what else I can say about Jack and Tatum other than their story will take you places you never thought possible.

Naveah was not what you would usuallyOnly D.L. Howe could make me fall entirely in love with the reverse age-gap trope and have me begging for more!!
Naveah was not what you would usually expect of an FMC and that was why my love for her was immediate and unwavering. As the head assistant coach for The Denver Snowcaps, she is no stranger to what it is like having a team full of basketball players trying to get a rise out of her in one or another. The minute she meets Noah Harrison all that changes. He isn't like the others and their connection, however strong is forbidden but there is something about the new guy that she can't seem to shake.
For Noah Harrison no woman has been able to hold his attention for long but leave it up to fate that the one woman he would fall for would be his new assistant head coach. Naveah is strong, beautiful and not afraid to lay it out just the way it is because she didn't get this job without having to go through her own struggles.
As Naveah and Noah fight their attraction and eventually give in the consequences of their actions only grow. When Naveah must make a choice will that mean the end or the beginning?
Personal Foul had me in tears! Surprised? Yeah, I am not. D.L. Howe has a way of making you fall in love with her characters before you even realize it and Noah and Naveah were no different. The road to their happily ever after is full of laughs, a touch of heartache and eventually nothing but love.

Slade (Slay) really had a rough start at life but once he found his footing and started make the right decisions for him, he became a whole new man. In finding himself though he also discovered a very big part of him that was missing. And that was someone to care for, someone he could cherish and love. Slay wanted a little girl of his very own but until June he never thought that possible...
June was always meant to be the best. For such a young girl she had a lot of responsibility put on her shoulders and it wasn't until she met Slay that she realized she could not only have everything, but she could have someone who would love her for exactly who she is. She could still live up to her parents' expectations and still be taken care of. Still be a good girl for her Daddy.
Teddy bear picnic anyone? Yes, you read that correctly and after reading that part it was something I never knew I needed until it was thrust open me. *snort* Oh, and did I mention piercings? Those that are hidden until it is play time. Yeah, you also have that to look forward to.
The true heart of this story is that both Slade and June find the place that they belong and that is with one another. Just because your happily ever after looks a little different than others doesn't mean that you don't deserve it.
This book does involve a DDLG relationship so be sure to check those triggers.

Faith Pierson's first rule is no dating football players. Being the owner's daughter of one of the biggest football teams in the country she is constantly surrounded by football players, but she will never date one. She went down that road once before and never again but that was before Dominic Walker showed up and shattered that rule to pieces. The tattooed bad boy has an attitude like nothing she has experienced before but beneath all of that she can tell there is more to him than meets the eye.
Dominic Walker has a temper. He knows that but his last coach made him use that temper to the team’s advantage and it is hard to let that go. Losing your little sister to cancer at such a young age can put anyone in a permanent bad mood but when he makes a mistake his first day on the job, he unknowingly just made things harder for himself. Being forced to work with the owner's daughter is not something Dominic is looking forward to but when he realizes that Faith is much more than he could have ever thought he has to back track and make her realizes he isn't just the hot head everyone thinks him to be.
Dominic & Faith's relationship was a whirlwind of emotions from start to finish and when a secret is revealed it could mean the end. After everything that Dominic is trying to overcome can Faith trust that he never meant to hurt her. After all, even with the best of intensions some things are too hard to overcome.
Lance Greenfield & Stella Hunter delivered one of the best narrations I have heard this year. Stella gave Faith so much depth from her little quirks with cursing to the raw emotion you could feel coming from her. Not just when she was upset, even when she was swooning over Dominic, I swear I could see hearts in her eyes for him and I was totally here for it. Lance's voice was delicious for Dominic. The edge that he was able to add to his clipped words was not something I had heard before, but it added something to his narration that I just loved. I've adored Stella Hunter since I first heard her, but Lance Greenfield is a new narrator to me, but he has just jumped to the top of the list, and I can't wait to hear more from him.
This was my first Karla Sorensen novel, but it won't be my last. The Lie hooked me from the first chapter and I can't wait for Faith’s sisters’ story The Bet coming in 2022.

And you just thought that Hades was going to be the biggest plot twist...
With a full cast Hateful Prince is an audiobook lover's dream! Stella Hunter and Samantha Brentmoor carry the entirety of the female cast including my favorite little witch, Moira. Gah, I have really missed her.
Not to mention the men, oh yes there are many of them!! One of my newest and most favorite narrators, John Hartley, then there is James Joseph the Brit with some of the best accents around and did I mention Jason Clarke and J.F. Harding? Yeah, those last two are enough to have your knickers ablaze before the end of chapter three.
Let's get back to the story though because THE STORY! FFS!! I just thought Sunday and Rosie had a rough go at it, just wait until you see what is in store for Dahlia! Don't worry though, in true Kim and Meg fashion there is more than enough spice to keep your heart racing right up until the very last page.
I realize this review is very lacking in what occurs in this book but that is kind of on purpose. Hateful Prince is book three in The Mate Games: Death series and you must read the first two books before you get to this one. If you don't, you will be completely and utterly lost. Just know, this series keeps up with the previous two series in the Mate Games world with a bit of added wing k!nk if you catch my drift.
With only one book left in this series I am eager to see what is in store for our girl Dahlia and her delicious but disturbed men.

When it came time to readIt has been a little over a year since I read Before I Let Go and I still remember almost every aspect of that book vividly. When it came time to read This Could Be Us I never expected Kennedy Ryan to top what she did for Yasmin and Josiah's happily ever after.
Soledad's journey is fierce but luckily so is she. From the constant betrayal of her no-good husband to having to take care of her three children and having a career even at her lowest, she never gave up. She was constantly doing what was necessary to keep a roof over her kids’ heads and putting her needs last. Don't worry though, she gets hers and then some when she finds a man who loves her just as she has always deserved to be loved.
Judah was so much more than a good dad and I feel like I need to make note of that. While a good part of his character was out of the love, he had for his twins there was so much more to him than that. He was soft in those moments when Soledad needed softness but in other times when she needed just a bit more, he gave her that. He was attentive to so many of the big things but also of all those little things.
Keeping this review brief while avoiding spoilers is difficult when there are so many parts I want to wax poetic about...
What I will say is if you loved book one of the Skyland series, you will love book two. And if you like me, are needing a goof bit of faith to give you hope for a future full of possibilities than This Could Be Us is that book. Soledad and Judah might not be perfect, but their story is full of hope, faith, and possibilities after heartbreak.

Haunting Beauty book one of the Mate Games: Death series was just a teaser of things to come in book two Hunted Beast.
An asylum is where this series takes place so far and if you think you know what to expect with an asylum setting you couldn't be more wrong! It is like a gothic fairytale had bedroom time with a smutty paranormal romance and this is the result. Dark, sexy, and full of new twists and turns you could never have begun to predict.
Dahlia is finally learning exactly who has her back and who doesn't but the most surprising was Shadow Daddy... IYKYK. J.F. Harding brought Cain to the front and center of this story with his past that not only haunts him but also somehow haunts our girl too. When those secrets are revealed, you are not going to be prepared for that outcome.
I could be wrong on this front, but I do think that Kai and Tor are going to form the most unlikely of bromances. When John Hartley and Jason Clarke start their banter, it is the most delicious of accents you won't know what to do with yourself because it is like the most delicious game of ping-pong EVER!!
James Joseph as Hook or rather Caspian was such a delight! I was kind of in awe at how much he was able to bring this character to life. Then the characters arc throughout this book was just outstanding. You can't help but root for the delightfully naughty pirate.
Of course, we can't forget our leading lady, Stella Hunter. She never disappoints and I do have to say bravo to Kim and Meg for giving us a plus-size heroine who is not down on herself constantly. She owns what she has, and her men have absolutely zero problems with all that she has going on.
Samantha Brentmoor really nailed Dr. Masterson and Kiki. In the first book I was all about Dr. Masterson but this time it was Kiki. She is the best friend we all long to have. I really am hoping that we get her HEA at some point.
Okay, I've gone on long enough about my love for this book, but I do have to say that the added mystery with our resident serial unaliver takes this book to the next level. Hateful Prince is up next and I am just dying to see where this story goes!!

A couIf you loved the KC Chronicles series, then get ready for The Next Generation because D.L. Howe didn't hold anything back with these characters.
A couple destined to never be together somehow finds their way back to one another over and over again. Except there is one thing standing in their way... . . . Their fathers.
Josh has always held some type of love for Callie but as time went on that love changed and evolved until one day that love wasn't so familial. He knows it is wrong, he can't help but want the one girl that was never supposed to be his. It would destroy everything. Not just the life he has built but everything that saved him all those years ago. Worse than that, if she were ever to find out what he has been hiding all these years it could mean the end to not only them but their family.
Just as Josh has always loved Callie, she has always loved Josh. He was always there for her. The best big brother, always supporting her every dream and wish no matter how crazy. That love though, evolved. It shifted into something that scared her because she can't have these feelings about her big brother. While there is no blood connection, they can never be, but these feelings won't waver. If anything, they just keep getting stronger.
As Callie and Josh navigate their tumultuous relationship their family is already putting the pieces together. And if they were to find out, would it be the end to everything they've been working so hard to achieve?
These two had my heart from the very beginning. There was not one moment that I was not rooting for them and their happily ever after, but their story was not easy. It was hard fought with tragedies from the past and heartache to be shared all around. I wept for Josh but also for Callie because young love can be so entirely consuming.
I Plead Guilty is the first book in the KC Chronicles Next Generation series and while we didn't really get to meet these characters in the original series, we did get to meet their parents. And while I loved that Howe brought in Mace and Javi, even my main squeeze Oli, this book was very much centrally focused on these two characters and what it would mean for them if they were to choose happiness over everything.
If this is just the beginning, I can't wait to see what else is in store for the kids of the OG KC Chronicles series!

There really is no place like home when home is filled with witches, munchkins, and the occasional flying monkey…
Most of us have grown up with The WiThere really is no place like home when home is filled with witches, munchkins, and the occasional flying monkey…
Most of us have grown up with The Wizard of Oz as a staple. Something you watch as a childhood rite of passage. Now, D.L. Howe amongst the other authors you see below have come together to take you to the land of Oz and help you see this beautiful world in an entirely new way. From zero spice to off the charts spice this anthology had me completely immersed in not only the stories but in the magic of the yellow brick road and Dorothy. As well as some other characters you might not be so familiar with.
Something Wicked – B.D. Brown This was my first adventure in the world of B.D. Brown, and I am already hooked! Emerald was thrown into a world she had zero clue about, but she kept her heart and steady… for the most part! With Dante, Kane and Alric I don’t know if I would have kept my head straight either. Hello, wingspan! While this was just a little taste of what I hope is more to come I can say that Brown has an instant fan in me. I wonder what else is to come for Emerald and her deliciously captivated men.
Are You a Good Witch or a Bad Witch? – D.L. Howe Delaney, Elspeth, and Zelda will have you giggling, needy and so much more before you’re even halfway through! D.L. Howe took her dive into the sapphic romance world last year and I was immediately obsessed but there is something about these three that she has taken to the next level and the only thing I can say is I am ready for more!
Delaney has no clue what is going on other than she has woken up in a new world, literally and she has not one but two beautiful witches there with her. Granted, she accidently almost killed one and that same witch wants her dead. Elspeth just has a chip on her shoulder for several reasons but the focus for Delaney is Zelda. That witch has stirred something inside of her that she has never felt before. Now, there is talks of fated mates and the fact that she is a witch as well. What else could possibly happen!
There were plenty of swoony moments as well as a couple of moments that had my knickers incinerated! This is just a tease with more to come but don’t worry, the tease is just enough to have you aching for the full-length novel that will be coming out later next year!
Breaking all the Rules – Darley Collins Ella and Theo were best friends for years until high school when Theo grew from the boy she knew to a man. That is when everything changed. Now, years later, and Ella’s family life is just as bad as it always was. A call from her sister has Ella reaching out to Theo for the first time in years. As they start their journey back to Kansas it seems that maybe not all is lost. Afterall even the tinman eventually found his heart.
Darley Collins immediately had me with Ella and Theo’s journey. My heart broke for Ella and while this was just a little teaser of their story, I can’t wait for the rest of it where hopefully we find these two finding their happily ever after.
Emerald Wastelands – Eliza Anne Sometimes our cowardice is our biggest weakness. For Addison that seems to be the case. Always terrified of the what ifs. When she awakens in a strange world unknown to her Addie has no choice but to lose the cowardice. For if she doesn’t it could mean the death of hundreds if not thousands of people.
Even though Addison is trying to be brave and draw the strength from her husband James, that is easier said than done. A huge lioness is what is in the way of saving all those people. Can the cowardly lion find her strength before she loses her life, and everyone perishes?
Eliza Anne told a brilliant story about what it means to find your courage, especially when you never thought you had any courage to begin with.
Emerald Legacy – K. Rose Lottie landed hard in Oz not entirely where she was or why she was there. She was injured and terrified until not one, but three delicious men stepped out of the trees and her life was never the same again.
Sparrow, Tiffer, and Crespin all hoped the girl from Kansas would be the key to saving Oz. With their journey just beginning they will have to face many trials before they are able to make it to the place where evil can be defeated.
That cliffhanger might have been the worst of all! Good news for K. Rose though, I will most certainly be reading the full-length novel when it comes out.
Heart of a Tin Man – L.A. Remenicky This might have been the most unique take on the Tin Man that I have ever read!! Remenicky took a story I love about a man who no longer has his heart and turned it into something fast passed, enticing and exciting!!
Dominic AKA the Tin Man has one mission and that is to rescue the daughter of a wealthy man. His mission, however, does not involve falling for the beauty with dark hair and her little dog too.
Dorrie is not the meek and mild woman you would expect her to be after being kidnapped. She is full of sass and completely enticed by the man who rescued her.
Just because Dorrie has been saved doesn’t mean that Dominic’s job is done because there is still someone after her. To add to that his past is starting to catch up with him. He is known as the Tin Man for a reason but exactly how long can he keep this charade up before he is all in with Dorrie.
Beyond the Rainbow – Maya Black The story told here takes Dorothy and her companions you already know and love but adds in a bit of a twist. Not only is Dorothy trying to save Oz but in a way, she is also trying to save herself. Kansas has never felt right. She never felt like she belonged entirely but this chance encounter to Oz has shown Dorothy that sometimes doing what you need to do for you is the most important thing you can do.
Across the land of Oz to Kansas and back again Maya Black told a story much more than just about a girl trying to get back home. She told a story of strength and hope and what it means to finally find the place you belong.
The Wicked Curse – Stormy Raeyne & Alejandra Raeyne A munchkin Daddy and the not so wicked witch he falls for! The Wicked Curse was practically made for me with its FMC who doesn’t take anything from anybody. Granted she cursed an entire town of people but come on, it is bound to happen sometimes. And a beyond sexy munchkin Daddy who knows just how to get his baby girl to open-up for him. Not to mention the deliciously sweet HEA I never saw coming!
Stormy and Alejandra took me on one of my favorite adventures through this anthology and I know you will love it just as much as I did! I can’t wait to see what else these two come up with!
Munchkin in Love – Tabitha Rose Lyrica was the cutest little munchkin that every munckined! I felt a bit sorry for her at times because while she had this gorgeous alluring voice she was always made to feel like an outsider. No wonder Sirens always seem so grouchy. I would be too. And while Lyrica is no Siren she feels called to the sea. As if it could cure her woes and all her heartaches. And maybe it can….
Not the sea itself maybe, but what is to come out of the sea….
Tabitha Rose had me head over heels in love with Lyrica in the first chapter. I just hope that this isn’t the last we have seen of her because I need to know exactly what happens when she is called home.
Thank you to D.L. Howe for putting this anthology together and for your amazing story Are You a Good Witch or a Bad Witch? And to the other authors thank you as well, the stories that do end on cliffhangers I can’t wait to see what else is to come from the wonderful land of Oz!!

Micki was the type of heroine I live for! She was a strong determined woman set on making her dreams come true even through all the struggles of a crazy ex who didn't know when to quit. There were times when I thought she would crumble, and she never did but when she did JL was right by her side to help get her through it. Ther love story was not really the star of the show and I loved that! They fell in love amongst the chaos and while they had their difficulties it was clear they were made for one another.
JL has kind of had my heart since the beginning because he wasn't as shrouded in secrets as Max was, but he also had this lighthearted quality to him. Yes, he was dangerous and capable of taking things too far if necessary but throughout the entire story he was more focused on what Micki needed to stay safe.
Samantha Brentmoor and Jason Clarke brought these characters to life and their accents for each, and every character were so on point! At the Ready is a solid book all on its own but adding in their vocal stylings amped up the story to another level. Especially Jason Clarke, and the only reason being I think is because he has a much bigger range. Either way, this narration was fantastic as are all of Sharon's.
I've left a lot of the details out of this review because you don't really need to know more than what was in the blurb. There were some twists and turns in this book I didn't see coming and I'd hate to spoil that for other readers. A standalone within a series At the Ready is one of those deliciously good romantic suspense novels you won't want to quit reading until all the T's are crossed and the I's dotted.

When K. Loraine and Meg Anne cWe've been through War; we've survived Pestilence but what happens now that Death is the one in control of the reigns...
When K. Loraine and Meg Anne come together you know that the story is going to be epic but what makes their stories so phenomenal is their casting for narrators. Haunting Beauty was full of some of your favorite names in romance right now and if you think you know James Joseph or John Hartley, just wait. Their take on these characters is out of this world delicious!!
Blackwood Asylum is not what you would expect. A retreat for healing they like to say but it is much more, and Dahlia is not sure which way to turn. After being thrown into Blackwood for her mental health there is much more here at play than she is being told. And as if the matter of seeing ghosts isn't enough for her to deal with, she has four men after much more than her heart.
The ensemble of characters here is nothing like you've seen from the previous Mate Games. Starting with James Joseph as Hook, that wicked man brought a lighthearted fun to the story that could rival Kingston himself.
Jason Clarke as Tor really should come with a warning label or at the very least a notice to buy more batteries. If you've read some of Meg Anne's books before then you are very familiar with the specific type of beast Tor is. Not to mention the lengths that he will go to in protecting what is his.
Cain is by far the most intriguing and frustrating character out of this merry band of misfits and J.F. Harding did his character so much justice. Him getting thrown in with this mix is either going to be disastrous or very enticing.
John Hartley as Kai our resident Dragon has my entire heart!! While we don't know too much about him yet, I can tell you his character arc brings the familiarity of dragons we are accustomed to with some delicious new treats thrown in.
Our girl Dahlia is played by none other than Stella Hunter and that sass we have come to love from her is here and stronger than ever. Dahlia was thrown into this world without knowing anything but what she learned from fairytales.
I do have to give a big shoutout to Samantha Brentmoor as Dr. Masterson and Kiki. Dr. Masterson is one of those characters that should frighten you because while she seems calm and collected there is something building under the surface. Is it going to be damaging or helpful to our girl and her men? Zero clue but it is going to be entertaining to find out as The Mate Games: Death continues.

Can we just take a second to appreciate? Swoon? Over these tropes...

And secondly, head the triggers please. They are there for a reason. Use them. **
Our girl finally gets her happily ever after, but you best believe that Abby made you work for it....
From the very start with Too Safe I knew that my feelings for these boys would change, and they did. Kylian, Kendrick, Decker and Locke were all boys in need of healing. And in their journey of love and healing they not only hurt themselves, but they hurt Josephene. For these boys she was the one thing they could have never anticipated. She was the one piece of their future that they couldn't have factored in no matter how hard they tried. Yet, when she fell into place with them, she instantly became a piece of home they never knew they needed.
And yet... the love they shared wasn't enough because there were big forces at play stopping them from getting to their happily ever after. If you are like me, you were predicting what would come to pass and well, let me tell you how wrong I was.
What happened in this book I could have not predicted no matter how hard, and I tried. There were moments when I was so livid, I had to walk away and other moments where I couldn't see the pages because the tears wouldn't stop.
This review is very sparse on actual details, and it needs to be. If you have read an Abby Millsaps book before (which you should have at least read two if you are at this point in this review) then you know that she is going to make you mad, she is going to make you cry, maybe multiple times but by the end you are going to be so captivated by the words written that you will just say thank you.
The Boys of Lake Chapel came in and completely changed the game for why choose romance and now I am not ready to say goodbye. All I can hope is that we will get a bit more from this world before we truly have to say goodbye. (Not a hint at something I know that you don't know, just wishful thinking.)

Thorn was the stoic and all too consuming model that had been harboring feelings for Luca for well over a year, but he could never actually find the courage to talk to the man unless they were doing a shoot. Even then, it was awkward on the best days.
Luca, on the surface, seems like an arrogant model with nothing in his head but how good he looks. And that is certainly not the case, he uses it as a defense mechanism to keep people away. People like Thorn who might actually care for him.
Your girl loves angst, and while this book had angst, I would have liked a bit more back story. With the two characters. There wasn't a lack of information by any means but sometimes being able to get more of a person's background gives you a bigger insight into who they are. As well as why they are the way that they are.
Abigail Hunter really delivered the sweetest, spiciest, and all-around MM novella that I didn't know I needed. Models are not generally my favorite subject matter to read about, but she turned me into a lover of them with Luca & Thorn.

And now being back in Fire Island she has captivated once again with Eamon and Sadie's story of overcoming loss, learning to love yourself again and ultimately hope.
Eamon was such an enigma in Saltaire and then when reading Return to Saltaire there was visible change in the man who had had endeared me to him for the way he loved his friends and that beautiful heart he had.
With loss, comes change and for Eamon that loss changed him into somebody different than the man he used to be. While still pushing through with the day to day, regret was always a constant. While he wasn't to blame that doesn't stop him for believing that he is.
Enter Sadie, a woman who has had her fair share of heartbreak and loss. While her loss was different than Eamon's it doesn't mean that the loss was any less. For some running away is the answer and it would only be for a few months, but Sadie never expected to recognize the same thing in Eamon she saw in herself.
As life tends to do it can throw you a curve ball when you least expect it and just when Sadie starts to get comfortable however momentarily in what could be this new life something from Eamon's past comes back to shake the very fragile foundation that these two had started to build.
Hazel Jacks never fails at making me feel every emotion possible while reading one of her books. There was a recognition in Sadie that had my heartbreaking, there were tears for the insufferable loss they both shared and there were even gasps, giggles and just happiness before the book was over.
Surf Road really was like coming home and now that this book is over, I truly hope it isn't time to say goodbye to these characters for good. I am not ready. Here's to hope and coming home again.

Just when I think Ella can't surprise me anymore and I've seen all her tricks she gives us Sun & Risk! If you are looking for a story that will have you on the edge of your seat from the moment you flip the first page Phoenix Falling is that story! While I absolutely loved Arik and Kat, what Risk and Sun have going make their story look like a cake walk!
The Archai might serve their King, but it is their Prince they seek out for guidance. It is their Prince they trust with what needs to be done to make sure that not only the Archai survive but thrive. With threats coming at them from every angle they are doing what they can to make sure that happens but what happens when the prince meets his mate but doesn't believe she is actually his mate. The fate of their people could like with one Risk...
Risk is both determined but soft in her wants and needs. She is destined to protect herself but there is something about Sun that just calls to her. And while there is so much, I want to say about this topic I really don't want to spoil it for anyone.
There was not one part of this story that I didn't absolutely love and there was not one thing about Sun & Risk I didn't love even more. While difficult, tragic, and absolutely heartbreaking at times their story is one of hope.
I do suggest reading book one in the Archai Warriors series before diving into Phoenix Falling. And last note, that ending Ella, come on!!

It had some unexpected elements that I was entirely surprised on but also some very smutty themes that I was truly hoping for!! Bravo to J.C. Bryer for always keeping me on my toes even with a smutty Christmas novella!
Michael Katz did the narration for this little gem and while there were parts that I feel like he rushed through from time to time it didn't take away from the story in anyway.
With the unexpected elements I mentioned this novella went from predictable to surprising in a matter of moments. While this won't be for everyone I think if you are like me and looking for something a little out of the normal than this would be the perfect Christmas novella to get you in the mood for St. Nick.
