“I respect you," he murmured. "and your views. I think of you as an equal. I respect your brains, and all those big words you like to use. But I also want to rip your clothes off and have sex with you until you scream and cry and see God." -Jack Travis (Smooth Talking Stranger)”
Lisa Kleypas, Smooth Talking Stranger

Julie Kagawa
“Yes, poor Darren, forced to cook and clean and do other unmanly things. Next thing you know he’ll be wearing an apron and popping out babies.” He snorted as Darren turned and did something with his hand. “We’re friends, but we’re not that close, Dare.”
Julie Kagawa, The Immortal Rules

Nick Hornby
“Look at all the things that can go wrong for men. There’s the nothing-happening-at-all problem, the too-much-happening-too-soon problem, the dismal-droop-after-a-promising-beginning problem; there’s the size-doesn’t-matter-except-in-my-case problem, the failing-to-deliver-the-goods problem…and what do women have to worry about? A handful of cellulite? Join the club. A spot of I-wonder-how-I-rank? Ditto.”
Nick Hornby, High Fidelity

C.S. Lewis
“Peter leaned forward, put his arms round the beast and kissed the furry head: it wasn't a girlish thing for him to do, because he was the High King.”

Nobuyuki Fukumoto
“We men have always fought to protect others... since the ancient times. Even though we were naked, and only had sticks and stones to defend ourselves... we still had the elderly, the young, our wives, friends, family, and homes... and to protect all of that we braved any danger, no matter what... and fought! And even among those cavemen there were useless failures! Just like how we are today! But in the end, even they gathered their courage, and fought! And, not surprisingly, being incompetent... they were killed! Even thought it was the death of an idiot... it was also... the death of a selfless hero!”
Nobuyuki Fukumoto, Saikyō Densetsu Kurosawa 10

Miya Yamanouchi
“Guys, you don't have to act "manly" to be considered a man; you are a man, so just be yourself. You don't have to prove your masculinity to anyone.”
Miya Yamanouchi, Embrace Your Sexual Self: A Practical Guide for Women

Miya Yamanouchi
“Guys, you don't have to act "manly" to be considered a man; you are a man, so just be yourself. Don't let society make you believe you have to prove your masculinity to anyone because you don't. You are you and you are worthy, full stop.”
Miya Yamanouchi , Embrace Your Sexual Self: A Practical Guide for Women

Miya Yamanouchi
“Both men and women experience pressure to conform to social standards of attractiveness. Men to look strong and be tough, women to look pretty and soft. Men to be masculine, women to be feminine. Men get judged for being "too feminine", women get criticized for being "too masculine". Gender policing affects us all.”

“Because I can only love you entirely. With everything I am, and everything I ever will be. Body, mind, heart, soul.” - Victor Bramwell, Earl of Rycliff.”

Will Advise
“With all the global warming going around nowadays, it would only take the stubbornness of a mule and the patience of a sitting duck to achieve what no man has ever done before – namely melt the ice in a wax figure’s beaten heart that was chopped off and hidden 50 meters under the polar ice caps in Alaska, to protect it from feeling.”
Will Advise, Nothing is here...

Alessa Kelly
“I'm not your knight in shining armor. I'm just a man who stands between you and hell.”

Donna Lynn Hope
“You may want the alpha, but the alpha has his pick.”

Adeline Yen Mah
“To celebrate his prosperity, fellow employees and friends urged him to take a young concubine to "serve him". Even Ye Ye's boss, the London-educated K. C. Li, jokingly volunteered to "give" him a couple of girls with his bonus. Ye Ye reported all this in a matter-of-fact way in a letter to his wife, adding touchingly that he was a "one-woman man".”
Adeline Yen Mah

David Sedaris
“Moving heavy objects allowed me to feel manly in the eyes of other men. With the women it didn't matter, but I enjoyed subtly intimidating the guys with bad backs who thought they were helping out by telling us how to pack the truck. The thinking was that because we were furniture movers, we obviously weren't too bright. In addition to being strong and stupid, we were also thought of as dangerous. It might have been an old story to Patrick and the others, but I got a kick out of being mistaken as volatile. All I had to do was throw down my dolly with a little extra force, and a bossy customer would say, "Let's just all calm down and try to work this out.”
David Sedaris, Me Talk Pretty One Day

Josh Hatcher
“The root of the word “integrity” is “integer.” It’s a math term - and it refers to whole numbers. The word itself implies “wholeness.” These are the questions we must ask ourselves frequently. “Am I whole?” “Are there parts of my character that are lacking?”
Josh Hatcher, Manlihood: The 12 Pillars of Masculinity

“I’ve always had a bit of a feminine aura, but I don’t mind. Russell Brand has one, too.”

“A man conforms to his situation, or it conforms to him. A strong and inspirational man does the latter...”
Connor Monaghan

“Instant gratification is a deadly weapon. It kills so slowly and is deceitfully poisonous with its placebo effect. It is one of the annihilators of masculinity.”
Emmanuel Apetsi

Seth King
“Being okay with being gay, or different, means nothing until you love all of your gayness and different-ness. Really, the “manliest” move of all is just looking in the mirror, shutting out the noise of the world, and deciding to be nothing but yourself.”
Seth King, Fem

Aiyaz Uddin
“A man is not a man because he is a man; a man is a man because he is responsible and humane towards other fellow humans and humanity collectively.”
Aiyaz Uddin

S.J. Kincaid
“Not just in America. When I left my primary school, my father said, 'Son, you are now a man,' then he gave me a scented candle and told me how babies are made." Vik fought to keep his lips from twitching.”
S. J. Kincaid

Carrie Jones
“You want some breakfast?”
“Home fries?”
There are potatoes in a bag on the counter, the Yukon gold kind. “Check.”
He smiles again. “Poached eggs?”
I open the fridge, stare inside it. A carton of eggs wait happily on the shelf, ready to be cracked. “Double check.”
“Orange juice?”
I pull out the plastic container. “Apple cranberry.”
He mock frowns, pulls himself off the couch, strides over. “Oh, I don’t know. Apple cranberry is so . . .”
“So what?”
“It’s not really manly.”
“What? There are manly juices? Orange is more manly than apple cranberry?”
He grabs the edge of the counter and leans back, stretching out his calves. I plop the juice container on the counter. He looks at me. His eyes are confused.
“Really, Nick. That is silly. You’re already having poached eggs.”
“So?”
“So how are poached eggs manly?”
He tilts his head. “They aren’t manly? Quiche isn’t manly, I know. But that’s egg in pie form. Poached eggs should be fine. Although fried eggs are probably the manliest. Maybe we should fry them.”
Carrie Jones, Captivate

“The better Option than to Change my Character is to Change your Gender”
P.S. Jagadeesh Kumar

“She wants a man with balls of steel, a heart of gold, and a mind with infinite possibilities.”

Sarah J. Maas
“Lucien's red hair gleamed like the leaves above us as he scanned the woods for anything to fill our bellies.

His woods, by blood and law. He was a son of this forest, and here... He looked crafted from it. For it. Even that gold eye.

Lucien eventually stopped at a jade stream wending through a granite-flanked gully, a spot he claimed had once been rich with trout.

I was in the process of constructing a rudimentary fishing pole when he waded into the stream, boots off and pants rolled to his knees, and caught one with his bare hands. He'd tied his hair up, a few strands of it falling into his face as he swooped down again and threw a second trout onto the sandy bank where I'd been trying to find a substitute for fishing twine.

We remained silent as the fish eventually stopped flapping, their sides catching and gleaming with all the colours so bright above us.

Lucien picked them up by their tails, as if he'd done it a thousand times. He might very well have, right here in this stream. 'I'll clean them while you start the fire.”
Sarah J. Maas, A Court of Wings and Ruin

Steven Magee
“You, me and testosterone!”
Steven Magee

“The seeds of manhood are sown in the fields of action, not youth playgrounds.”
