You should totally leave the duplicates, cuz audiobooks are so so popular and sometimes the audio it's better than the print.

The short answer: that's what reviews are for.
Another short answer: those are the rules. They were there long before I got here to volunteer my efforts, and they aren't changing.
It's more than that, though. When there are reviews for more than one edition, it dilutes the votes the author receives in a way that is unfair, and negatively impacts the visibility of their book. For example, if the audio has 34 votes, and the print version has 100, and the digital or Kindle version has 97, that author actually has more than 200 votes, which, for a new release, is often enough to move them near the top of the list. If we don't combine them, their three different editions are going to languish on the back pages that many readers won't even look at.
Hope this clear it up for you.

The system is quirky that way. Sometimes a future publication, or a very-newly-released one, can be added, and sometimes it can't. Of course the solution is to come back later, but it's frustrating, because the almost-published and just-published periods are the most useful for readers to see, and the most helpful for an author that might like to see their book promoted or discussed.

King of Wrath just published Oct 20 2022 by Ana Huang is not listed as this years publication date. Please fix so we can add her new beautiful book!

This problem often crops up with new titles. I checked to see if it had been previously published in another country, but found nothing. GR lists this as a 2022 publication. My hunch, based on previous experience, is that within a few days, the October 20 version (there are 4 versions, some in November,) should work for you. Failing that, you will have to take this to the superlibrarians, who have more access to the database than I do.

There are hundreds of books published in 2022 that are listed as “not published this year”. It will not be fixed in a week or two, and I doubt it is a “quirk” in the system. Increasingly, this is a site for publishers to advertise. Those that do, or have “Goodreads Authors”, always seem to allow votes. Those that do not somehow face these strange “quirks”. The older lists allowed readers to vote for any book published in a given year, and reflect actual preferences of those using the site. The newer lists do not allow readers to vote for books from the entire universe of publishers or authors. Although this website is free to readers, someone has to pay the expenses. Those that pay expenses are not interested in driving sales to those that do not contribute.

They are probably just missing the original publication date -- which I believe blocks them from being added.

No. The original publication date appears on the page describing the book, yet the Listopia program states that the book was not published on the date listed. This does not happen once or twice. It is systematic, and applies to hundreds of books.
