Nina has always dreamed of moving off planet Earth and finding a real life alien of her own! Well her chances are pretty high as she just happens to live in Sedona, aka alien central as that's just where the wormholes collide. Plenty of off worlders are there and some are even looking for a mate but there's one in particular Leif, who really antagonises Nina . However what would happen if Leif could be in two places at once and this time he could truly rock Nina's world?
The author takes her original idea and just ramps it up in this book. Time travel is always a fascinating subject and I liked the way it opened up the ideas in this story. Plus these super soldier aliens may have thought war was over but it's clear that peace is anything but assured. Nina was a star in the first book and doesn't disappoint here. Leif can be such a stuffed shirt at times but I really had fun seeing the other side of him, yum. I've no wish to reveal too much but will say not all the aliens are pod born and hot, no some are distinctly less attractive and yet still in the market for human brides and Leif just happens to know who the newest bride is! Yes stand by for a bumpy ride but you know with this author a happy ending is assured.

Man, I like these aliens. They're hunky and driven and some of them *might* be a wee bit conflicted on what path they're going to take with the Light. *cough*Leif*cough* Good thing his future self shows up to put things in perspective.

And, you know, he's smart enough to sort through all the information he's been given before deciding what his next step is going to be. Even when the information is coming directly from him. (Time travel! It makes things so complicated sometimes, doesn't it?)

It should be noted that Leif and Nina aren't necessarily BFFs on their way to a happily ever after before future Leif drops in. Leif is sort of perpetually irritated with her, actually. And his irritation makes Nina poke at him, which irritates him more. It's a vicious cycle of irritation and I find it immensely amusing.

That said, things take a turn when events are put in motion that could endanger Nina. Leif realizes Nina isn't nearly as bad as he's made her out to be and Nina finds herself liking the side of Leif that emerges. As you can imagine, they take things from there.

I'm really enjoying this series and all the craziness that goes along with time travel and aliens. Genetically engineered alien soldiers do it for me, apparently.

We met our main couple in the first book of this series by this author. I liked Leif but I had no idea he’d be so funny in his own unique way. He was aloof and cold, and the least thing in his mind was love. Nina on the other hand had been looking for love and a way out of this world for most of her life. Although Leif was there and she thought he was attractive they never really clicked. That is until a visit from the future changed everything in their present and battle for survival and to find out who’s friend and who’s foe took place.

This book has everything a sci-fi romance story should have: aliens, shifters, a malicious race trying to take over the world, time-travel, laugh out moments, a spunky heroine, and of course a hunky, intelligent outer being.
You would think that would be plot overkill but it’s not! The whole story is set at a perfect pace and it’s told with a super smooth flow. The chemistry between Leif and Nina was there from the get go but didn’t feel rushed. I only wish these stories by the author were longer because they are sooooo good and as usual they only leave me panting for more!!

*** I received this book from the author at no cost to me and I volunteered to read it; this is my honest opinion and given without any influence by the author or publisher.***

4.5 Stars! Axion is the second novella in the Red Rock Alien Mail Order Brides series and should be read after the first book in the series, Quantum. This book centers around Nina and Leif who we met in the first book. Nina and Leif don't particularly get along although they are attracted to each other. Leif is an assassin and used to working alone although he is now working for Counselor Sai and the Consortium of Light. Nina has been selected to be one of Counselor Sai's wives. Nina who has always dreamed of traveling into space is about to accept when Leif from the future shows up to tell her not to go with Sai and that they are mates. He also tells her he is there to kill someone in order to change the future and save Earth.

This book has plenty of fun, action, romance and mystery but the most intriguing part was the time paradox and the butterfly effect that stems from future Leif and present Leif. Although a short book it has an intense plot and a fun and engaging romance. Although I enjoyed the first book this one was even better. Once I started it I couldn't put it down.

A copy of this book was provided to me with no requirements for a review. I voluntarily read this book, and my comments here are my honest opinion.

Title: Axion
Author: Erin Kellison
Genre: SciFi Romance
Format: Ebook
Pages: 92
Rating: 4
Heat: 5

Thoughts: Short but very hot! I really liked that future Leif and present Leif were so COMPLETELY different yet the same. Although I think it's funny that this is a mail order bride series but the women are like screw this I want a different guy lol. Both books the women sign up for the mail order brides but don't end up with the alien that was using the agency. I would do the same thing though, love is way more important than money or status. Plus, hot aliens, can't really go wrong with that lol.

Original review: https://myshelfbooks.wordpress.com/20...

After a long and intense book, the quick snack that is Axion is more than welcome. I was pleasantly surprsied with the first book of this saga and its continuation doesn’t disappoint, either. Yes, it’s a bit weaker than the previous book, but it still delivers what I was looking for. Who could have guessed something so entertaining could be hidden behind such hunky covers? I’ll try to keep this review simple.

The story continues several weeks after the events of the first book. This time we follow Nina as she is chosen to become the new wife ouf a Counselor of the Light. Her whole life she has been dreaming about jumping in a ship (sorry, vessel) and go to space, so she doesn’t want to miss this oportunity. That was her plan until a Cowboy from the future with a familiar and unexpeced face warns Nina against the many dangers of accepting the offer. In order to unveil the mystery, she has to team up with Leif, a former Pact soldier and a thorn in her life. Will the running from danger get them closer or farther apart?

As in the previous book, we are in front of a pretty entertaining adventure with aliens, space conspiracies and time travel. A crazy mix that is displayed with an easiness for which I must congratulate the author most sincerely. Pulling something like this off without butchering any of the aspects of the book is what I like most of this saga. The story, the characters, the worldbuilding and the romance are rather simple, but pretty well linked together. It may look like a bulky machinery, but it runs much more smoothly than some elegant models. But if I compare this book to the first part of the saga, the shadows of Axion get more definition. There is not as much action as in the first one. I missed a good skirmish or two as the cherry on top. I don’t want to say this time the story is boring. Not at all. The first one was more “all fists on deck” and this is more like “all brains on deck“. For this kind of book I usually prefer the first option, but the second one can still delivers a nice story.

The characters are not very complicated and they don’t endure much development, but that wasn’t needed for what the author wanted to tell. We met Nina in the first book and I must admit I got a bad first impression of her. With the focus on her, I have got to like the woman. She lives in a peculiar place and now I’m able to understand her daydreaming about aliens. Her best quality is her eagerness to help. But let’s be honest, that would be all. She is no fighter, no mastermind, no tech savvy… I don’t want to call her useless, but I can’t think of anything that she can bring to the Pact table. So is pretty remarkable the fact that she is usually the first to volunteer for dangerous situations. I applaud her bravery. Leif has also suprised me. He is not just the stiff soldier with the personality of a stone. He is a survivor that has adapted to the new environment, creating a hard shell to protect him. One of the best parts of this book is when that shell is broken and the real Leif emerges.

I do love a good enemies-to-lovers romance! At first, Leif and Nina tolerate each other if the situation demanded it, but they could barely behave like polite beings the rest of the time. The former soldier is a grumpy bastard that considers the humans, and Nina in particular, waaay below his paygrade. But Nina doesn’t take any of his bullshit and she is not even a bit afraid of telling him so. That makes for a very amusing dynamics that, as an avid Romance reader, I already knew was going to end in something else. What is rather disappointing is the transtion between one state to the other. When does it really happen? I think I missed it between the plenty of meetings to plan about the plans…

The third book is the last one of this saga, but the Intergalactic Dating Agency universe has plenty more to choose from. I only hope all of them are as satisfying as this one.

The base story picks up where Quantum left off, just with different love story in front.I was disappointed.Usually I don't mind "hate to love" stories but there at least have to be a catalyst for it to happen, especially if we are shown inner monologues of main heroes. It can't be like flipping a switch, especially on emotional level, readers deserve to see the change in hearts, otherwise "mating" starts to sound like uncontrollable thing where participants have no say.And then it is not a love story anymore. The base story sucked as well. I do understand it is a short novel and author have to pack a lot of information in a small word count, but cmon, sometimes less is more, otherwise you get a story that is ridiculous,as was the case here.

Another time-twisting, mind-twisting sci-fi adventure with romance. I would recommend reading 'Quantum' before this one, but 'Axion' is very much it's own story, building on what came before. Lots of action and plenty of scope for more to come.

Book 2 in the series is just as fantastic in its short length as book 1. I am still in awe over Kellison's ability to cover a fully developed plotline with a believable romance in such a short package. She is the queen of arcing storylines that grow into something epic and involved, while keeping each book enjoyable on its own. The foreshadowing for this pairing was in book 1 but they way it worked out was completely unexpected. Surprises and character growth make for an excellent read.

Our Review, by LITERAL ADDICTION's Pack Alpha:

Another incredible read by Ms. Kellison.

The Red Rock Aliens' story continues, as Mr. Leif works with Cindy and her Intergalactic Dating Agency on their quest to find an Earth bride for his boss, Counsel Sai, a governor with the Consortium of Light. Only things get interesting when a Leif from the future shows up on Nina's doorstep and beseeches her not to go to Sai, and lays out all sorts of unthinkable repercussions if she does. Not to mention the fact that they're mates.

Elsewhere, Leif's fellow Pact soldiers and Sophia and Alex are still trying to find a way to thwart the Light and keep Earth in the hands of humanity, thus stopping another war.

All previous plans have to be shelved in order to take into consideration future Leif's warnings. But what will the ultimate decisions and outcomes be to keep everyone safe and happy? Especially since solving the problems at hand are the only way that present-day Leif and Nina can be together.

I absolutely loved this book. It's full of suspense and mystery, but is balanced beautifully by the light-hearted dialogue and characterization. It's also poetically beautiful in many places, as per usual for a Kellison book. And while the romance is a driving factor for the arc and very heartfelt, the sexy times are subtle and tasteful. No graphic sex on the page (though there are sex and physical romance), keeping me utterly engaged from cover to cover (I have a tendency to gloss over very "biological" sex scenes).

I would absolutely recommend this book and its predecessor, Quantum, to all Sci-Fi Romance fans, and even UF and PNR readers (the main character aliens are all very 'human' being pod-grown supersoldiers versus little green men, or those like the big bads in the Red Rock Alien world, large skulled telephaths or octopus men from swampy planets ;-)).

Leif is a Pact supersoldier, created specifically to be an assassin. Each Pact soldier was grown in a pod and programmed for a specific function to fight in the wars for the Consortium of Light. With the wars over, Leif now works for Councilman Sai, who wants a bride from Earth.

Nina has an interest in all things alien, and has even signed up for the dating service. Sedona and the Red Rock mountains are hot spots for alien activity due to the vortexes, so they come looking for brides, among other things.

When Nina sees a large, very muscular shadow leap over the wall surrounding her parent's property, she recognizes Leif, the Pact soldier who barely tolerates her. Only something's not right. Instead of military sharp look he normally sports, he's in a tight black t-shirt, jeans, cowboy boots, and a belt with a big buckle. All he needs is a stetson. She motions him to her casita, so as not to alert her parents to his presence.

Something's not right with him. He's sick, says he's from the future. Wants her to promise not to go to Sai. Says he's been sent back in time to kill someone, to make it right.

I like the Pact soldiers and the premise behind them. The more I get to know them, the more I like them. I'd also like to know more about Alex, unless there's a book I missed. Lots of great world building here. Excellent concept.

I loved the give and take between Now Leif and Future Leif; how they came to the conclusions they came to while dealing with each other. It was fun watching the lightbulb come on in current Leif's head that future Leif really was him. The fight scene was fun too.

The writing was very imaginative and fun. I look forward to the next installment. Well done!

Talk about Dynamite this book is explosive Ms. Erin has written this whole series to be just a remarkable as the first book. Everything you would want in a book is here, the characters fit together like puzzle pieces they just come together and fit right in. Everything you can think of is in it Adventure, Betrayal, Fear, Jealousy, Suspense, Mystery,
Time-Travel, Action Packed, Loyalty, Hate, Love, Survival, Hero's and Strong Heroine's
Nina Simms has always since she was a child to be with an Alien traveling in his spaceship. Since she knows the owner Cindy of Intergalactic Dating Agency and Sophia her friend did it and married Raider why not right.
Than one of the Pact warned her off. She was in danger or was she?
Leif pronounced Layf is an Alien Super Soldier thats six foot five inches of well built muscle. Leif is an emissary to Counsel Sai  one of the Lights powerful Governors was coming to Sedona earlier then expected via the worm hole. He asked Leif to pick his bride for him and she would stay in Sedona in the lap of luxury. Something was wrong but what?

Axion is the second novella in the Red Rock series, and it is Nina and Leif's turn for a story. Nina made her first appearance in Quantum where she proved that she can be a menace with a curling iron. Leif also appeared there, when we find out that he was an assassin, although he is trying for a more 'proper' appearance these days.

Nina is about to have a meeting with Cindy when a Leif appears that seems to have no bearing on the Leif she knows. She finds out that he is from the future... and that they are mates. However, he is here on a mission which will have future repercussions. Let the games commence.

With time paradoxes, bizarre rituals, language implants (which I could really do with!), plus trying to figure out the butterfly effect and how not to kill your friends, there is something in this novella for everyone. Although short, it packs a punch, giving you everything you would expect from an Erin Kellison book.

Very well written, with no editing or grammatical errors to disrupt the reading flow, this is a brilliant addition to the series; thoroughly enjoyed and definitely recommended by me.

Nina lives in the red rock mountains and her best friend, Sophia just mated to her own slien super-soldier, hottie
Raider aka stone. Nina has dreams to travel in space. So she signs up to the red rock intergalactic dating agency to gave cindy fin her an off world mate.
On the day she has an appointment with Cindy, Leif (one of the super soldiers ) comes to her with a story that he is from the future and come back to kill someone and to make her promise not to go to Sai.
Leif is a super soldier working for counsel Sai to find him an Earth bride to add to his collection of brides. When he is in the meeting with Cindy Nina walks in with this wild story that his future self is in town and that she and he are mates, he plans to kill someone and not to go to sal. The very man both Cindy and he wants her to nend up with.
Is it true? Is time travel even possible? What about the Butterfly affect? And most of all HOW could he pick Nina as a mate?
Love the action, drama, and mystery in this and so much fun! The characters are awesome to their so easy to connect to. The storyline is well writen and exciting. Syfy fans don't miss this one it's syfy-tasic and out of this world.

Leif and Nina seem to be the furthest from each other than any two people could be. But when an unexpected visit from Leif to Nina one morning uncovers an attraction that the two never thought they had things become a bit more than hot, rather explosive in some aspects. Leif now has to uncover the truth of what is really going on and if it's a meta or something else he's after and while setting a up a ruse in the meantime to get additional information on what is really going on he falls for the one woman that annoys him most and must figure out a way to save her otherwise she will meet a brutal end. While attempting to uncover everything about the mysterious ongoing's and who this mystery man really is the team of Pact warriors and their women also uncover more than meets the eye about the consortium. Things get hairy very quickly and there is much action and excitement as well as espionage and tense moments and a little surprise now and then. Erin does a marvelous job as always I never tire of reading her books and this serious is no different. I highly recommend this one. (Voluntary review of ARC book)

This is the second book in a series with a strong overarching storyline. Because of that, it's best to read the series in order.

Nina has always wanted to travel in space. To further her goal, she has signed up with an alien dating service and has become friends with it's alien manager, Cindy. Because of the gateways in the Sedona area, the place is crawling with aliens, something the locals take in stride.

Leif is an engineered soldier assassin who fought for the losing side, the Pact. Twenty years later he is working for the opposition, the Light and Counsel Sai, and is on Earth to find Sai a human bride. Nina has been selected and is scheduled for an interview, but before the time arrives she gets a visitor. Leif's future self, dressed as a cowboy and looking a little worse for wear, extracts a promise from her not to go into the dark with Sai. It seems she is Leif's mate and her future actions will determine the fate of millions of people.

Axion: Red Rock Alien Mail Order Brides 2 by Erin Kellison 5 Stars

What a crazy story. The author takes you on a wild ride with the Intergalactic Dating Agency and the. characters.

Lief or Cowboy as Nina calls him comes back from the future to warn Nina that trouble is coming. Nina is his mate but just doesn't realize it yet.

Lief was born in a pod, raised to be protectors of the Pact. His job now is to find a suitable bride for Counsel Sai.
Nina just wants to get out of her town, so she goes to meet with Cindy at the Red Rock Dating Agency, hoping to get paired with someone.
When she is chosen to become Sai's wife, Lief isn't happy, but what can he do. Well he does a heck of a lot. lol

Great read. Such depth and interesting aspects of space and how someone human or not can still fall in love in the vast emptiness.

Per the usual, Erin Kellison has another winning series in my opinion. Axion picks up soon after Quantum ends, but this time focuses on the unique attraction between Pact assassin, Leif, and human woman, Nina - who wants nothing more than to explore the galaxy as an alien's wife. But when a surprise from the future contacts Nina and Leif, they start to question what is really important to them and their future.

I've said in other reviews for Ms. Kellison's work, and cannot repeat it enough, I am always so pleased with how much detail and action she can pack into what is a relatively short story. The pace is steady, romance is hot, and the plot is always interesting; never do I read and think "meh". This is why Kellison is one of my favorite authors.

Don’t let the title, Axion (Red Rock Alien Mail Order Brides #2) fool you. Erin Kellison is not giving you an ordinary science fiction romance. Along with the romance, there is mystery, suspense and an element of surprise. The writing is a pleasure to read and the characters’ complex. As always the descriptive world building is magnificent where the fate of earth could be at stake.

The romance is the driving force of the book but there is still a perfect balance with the suspense and action within the story. Besides the world building which I have already mentioned the dialogue is lively and flows naturally. Axion (Red Rock Alien Mail Order Brides #2) is an hitter to add to this delightful series.

The author gave me a complimentary ARC of the book.

Book 2 of the Red Rock Alien Mail Order Brides is fast paced, sci-fi novella full of action, aliens, and even time travel. Ms. Kellison does a dynamic job of telling a complete story with just a few words and making a novella feel like a complete book. In this book, a time traveling Pact soldier from the future seeks out his younger self to help save the world and find love at the same time. While this book could be a standalone, I would recommend reading the series in order because the same characters do appear in both books. I received a review copy of this book and liked it well enough to write a review.

Leif is an emissary to Earth on a mission to find a human bride for his Leader. He's depending on the Red Rock Intergalactic Dating Agency to identify a suitable prospect and is shocked when that woman is Nina Simms, an intelligent and beautiful female who gets under his metallic gold skin like no other. Nina always wanted to travel into space and meet more aliens. She is shocked when a Leif from the future arrives with information and a personal warning. The past and future collide, and as passions ignite, mission and mating take a turn for the dangerous. A great additional Red Rock story with familiar characters.

Red Rock Alien Mail Order Brides Book Two, Intergalactic Dating Agency Book Eleven.

When a future version of Leif shows up at Nina's home, she doesn't know what to believe. He claims that his mission is to kill a traitor of the Pact and to prevent her from joining Counsel Sai's brides. When she meets with Cindy about a new prospect, current Leif is in the meeting and Nina finds out that she has been chosen for Sai already. She fills Cindy and Leif in on her visitor and they begin searching for the traitor.

If you're looking for a refreshingly upfront sci-fi romance, this is the book for you. No secrets and drawn out longing.

Book 2 in the Red Rock Intergalactic Dating Agency - Axion has all the intrigue, romance and a little time travel with the familiar characters from book one.
Nina has every intention of being a mail order bride so she can travel in space. Lucky for her the right alien showed up to claim her. But for his employer.
Leif tries to convince Nina not to go to the agency to sign a contract for marriage, danger and death could be in her future if she does. Has Leif suffered from space sickness or love?
Great little story. Found out how everything and everyone survives this close encounter. I recommend!

Second Installment of Kellison's alien supersoldier hunks and their human mates. Quick read into the Sedona Red Rock Mountain region of Earth. This area is alive with vortexes that are used to jump distances in space. Nina has an interview with Cindy at the Intergalactic Dating Agency. Nina has always wanted to travel to other worlds. Plans get changed when supersoldier Leif appears. Shocking as that is it is Leif from the future proclaiming Nina is his mate and Cindy must be killed. Read to find out how all this turns out.
