The cocky jock I once wanted to kill with my bare hands is now the only one I trust with my heart.
In a city full of corruption and dark secrets, knowing who’s on your side gets harder to determine every day. Especially now that Vin’s on the warpath, passing out threats he fully intends to see through to the end. His power here in Cypress Pointe seems limitless, and I don’t have time to see if that’s true. I’m prepared to make sacrifices to keep my family safe.
Even if what’s sacrificed is my own happiness.
As our circle of loyal friends becomes clear, we cling to it, because it’s all any of us has. And if there’s one thing Vin didn’t count on, it’s that blood isn’t always thicker than water.
He might just find out firsthand why it’s never wise to cross the king’s queen.
*** FOREVER GOLDEN is the highly anticipated conclusion to this portion of the saga, and a lead-in to the KINGS OF CYPRESS spinoff. This book is the final installment of a trilogy and should only be read after completing books one & two, THE GOLDEN BOYS and NEVER HIS GIRL.
This series contains strong bully themes. So, if you’re not into romances where hate turns into love (… eventually), and if you don’t like your heroes of the unapologetically alpha variety, this might not be the series for you. There is no rape or dubious consent whatsoever. However, due to adult themes and sexual situations, this one’s only for the 18+ crowd.
This series is sure to give you GOSSIP GIRL and ONE TREE HILL vibes, and the angst will have you burning through the pages to find out what happens next. One-click and get lost in this series today!
you’re telling me, we don’t find out who Pandora is????
i– i am mad as fuck. what the hell? that’s a lil convenient isn’t it? and slightly lazy writing? but i digress. (i did like this book for the most part, but most of my thoughts are annoyed ones— if y’all wanna see me gush about this series, go to my reviews for the previous two books lol).
the plot of this one really went all out with the bully romance cliches lol. it was definitely reminiscent of all its bully romance predecessors. a tad OTT... but i didn’t expect anything less lol.
i mean, a group of teenagers with barely any resources doing the shit they did to take down the Golden triplets’ criminal father was far fetched to say the least.
their whole “im invincible” shtick was definitely irritating too— i mean, West’s dad is involved in sex trafficking... and threatens Blue to break up with West or he will have both her and her younger sister sex trafficked... with buyers already set up... and West refuses to let Blue break up with him, knowing his father’s threats.
i– i had no words. i was like wtf. you’re 18 years old. stop acting like goddam Al Capone and Tommy Shelby when you’re really Archie fucking Andrews with even less brain cells. the likening to One Tree Hill in the synopsis needs to be replaced with Riverdale instead💀
so suffice to say, i definitely wasn’t as addicted and obsessed with the final instalment as i was with the previous two books. i couldn’t put the others down bcos i was so on edge... while with this one i will admit i skimmed a bit. it felt like not much was happening and that we weren’t getting anywhere. pretty stagnant and like it was being used to set up potential romances between other characters, since Blue and West’s romance was... dare i say a tad boring? i was more invested in any crumbs about Dane and Joss, and the potential Scar/Shane/Linden love triangle.
the main thing keeping me interested though was that i wanted to find out who Pandora is. i had my guesses— but we don’t even fucking find out and it just seemed cheap af considering Pandora is the reason they managed to solve all the fucking crimes and shit that went down? so do the authors actually have a Pandora? or did they never intend to reveal her and just used her as a lazy, convenient plot device? hmmm🤔 not happy.
and despite the story being a lil dragged out, it was resolved far too quickly imo? it was weird. it went from 0-100 real quick. gave me whiplash and a lot of things felt unresolved, not just Pandora’s identity. like everything involving Blue’s older brother was explained and resolved in the matter of a sentence— like the reason he was in jail was never fully explained... until the epilogue of the third book, summed up in a few sentences.
it definitely didn’t live up to the previous books. im not disappointed exactly, just i expected more. going out with a bang, you know? it seemed underwhelming for the conclusion :///
im expecting romances for the other characters in the future! like Dane and Joss? Shane and Scar... although, that Scar and Linden interaction... potential love triangle in the future? im with Blue tho... i don’t like Linden and would rather Scar be with Shane— but all the foreshadowing and parallels of Blue/West/Ricky and Scar/Linden/Shane definitely has Shane losing this one :((((
but i still highly recommend this series, don’t let this review deter you bcos the first two books are so worth it while this one just didn’t hit as hard as either of them. Blue is an amazing heroine, she was such a pleasant surprise and unique from all the other br damsels. if anything, give this series a shot for my bitch Blue Riley.
Plot Summary : West and blue are back! With Vin making his move and messing everything up, things are complicated. Blue is terrified with what Vin threatened and now she has no choice but to give in to his demands.
A chance announcement by Pandora alerts everyone of Vibes Plans. Now West and Blue are together again and this time they are not going to go down that easy. Vin golden is going to get what he deserves and there is no way they both are letting him of the hooks.
It doesn't take them long to piece everything together and find out that the secrets Vin is keeping might just be the most disgusting thing ever. They want to destroy him and for that they will have to start by exposing him. But that too before he destroys them both.
Overall Opinion : I have been going crazy for this book! Every book of this trilogy has this killer cliffhanger which always manages to stun me but not this time lol. I finally got my HEA!! West and Blue are amazing together and I think that this book was the longest one in all three books. It did not make this book any boring and I loved every freaking second!
We finally got a few answers too. There are a lot of characters that need their books and I wish that the author would grace us with them! I simply can't have enough of this world and I need so much more!
I would definitely recommend this trilogy to all the dark high school bully romance lovers out there! Trust me, you'll hate to love West !
𝗙𝗼𝗿𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗿 𝗚𝗼𝗹𝗱𝗲𝗻 is the last book in 𝘞𝘦𝘴𝘵 and 𝘉𝘭𝘶𝘦'𝘴 trilogy, and I'm a bit sad because I wanted more of them, but everything comes to an end, I hope @author.racheljonas will write a novella about them someday.
Anyways I love this so much, I'm happy and content with how the events turn out primarily on what happened to West's asshole father. Also in this book, you can truly see how much the relationship dynamic grows between our main characters, they've learned to trust one another it's just satisfying to see that from enemies they become lovers, it's so fascinating not just that you can truly feel that their feelings and love for each other is very genuine and deep.
Now I have to say bye-bye to the 𝙋𝙤𝙬𝙚𝙧 𝘾𝙤𝙪𝙥𝙡𝙚 of 𝖢𝗒𝗉𝗋𝖾𝗌𝗌 𝖯𝗋𝖾𝗉 - 𝘒𝘪𝘯𝘨𝘔𝘪𝘥𝘢𝘴 and 𝘕𝘦𝘸𝘎𝘪𝘳𝘭. Tho the silver lining is the upcoming spin-off and it's about 𝘗𝘳𝘦𝘵𝘵𝘺𝘉𝘰𝘺𝘋 and 𝘝𝘪𝘳𝘨𝘪𝘯𝘝𝘪𝘹𝘦𝘯. I know, I know I'm saying a bunch of lingoes, guess what just read the trilogy so you'll get the gist.
(audiobook) That was quite the conclusion! The crime bit that was barely suggested in the first book, then became more prominent in the next, is now at the center of the story. Mostly because it threatens West and Blue’s relationship.
They are officially a couple, but not for long, as West’s father has blackmailed Blue into breaking up with West, for reasons unknown at the beginning of the book–it’ll become clearer later. But Blue being Blue, i.e. stubborn and contrary, she tells West, and together they fight.
That means they become more curious regarding Vin’s criminal activity, and get other people involved. That’s basically the crux of the story–who can help and who to trust. At some point, it even seems like they only have each other, which is a great romantic plot point. But they’ll get help from unexpected places.
Some unanswered questions finally get their answer, showing that the authors plotted well. New characters are also introduced, and at that point, I can only guess that they’ll be main characters in other books in the series.
The pace wasn’t bad, but there were a couple of slower moments that felt like fillers, when the plot should have accelerated. It was okay, though, as they were punctuated by twists that I sure didn’t see coming. Well done.
My man complaint is regarding West’s character arc. Instead of slowly becoming more attentive and actually boyfriend material from the beginning of the first book to the end of the third, it seemed like he was completely different in book 2, and again in book 3. Same with his actions against his father here–so different from his nonchalant attitude in book 1. Not painting him in a favorable light if only his love for a girl can make him a decent human being. But whatever, that’s why we love our bully heroes, right?
Narration was great again. I was a bit surprised that they kept the third narrator for the blog bits as they are written by a different character for a while, but at least she did read those parts differently–talent! This bully romance trilogy is a must listen, definitely.
Quickie
- Series: Kings of Cypress Prep #3 (end of the trilogy) - Hashtags: #sports romance #young adult romance #opposites attract #suspense - Triggers: bullying, public humiliation, substance use, cheating, mention of death - Main couple: Blue Riley & West Golden - Hotness: 4/5 - Romance: 5/5 - + the suspense bit was actually gripping, and the end… - – that’s quite a 180° from the first book, West, not sure I buy it
3.5 ⭐️ Least fave of the series but still BANGING overall
Not enough tension between West and Blue, they’re basically a done deal by this point and I always lose interest when the couple are together. It was a perfect opportunity for them to second guess everything when they pretended to ‘break up’ but no. Too loved up lol
The ending was WILD lmfao so much drama and nonsense but I sure slurpy sluuuurped it up 🤣
Final thoughts:
West - keep saying he’s gunna fix it but DOES NOT in fact fix anything BAHAHA he’s a bit wet really 😂😂
Blue - kept molly-coddling Scarlett, asking Joss to ‘watch her’, bruh she’s 15 years old and probably sucks more d than you, lay off 😂😂😂
Ricky - if he didn’t have a goatee and a wallet on chain I’d rail this man ROLL ON THE SPIN OFF BOOKS!!!
was this book perfect? no. did i still enjoy it a lot? yes.
i have to say i'm not big on duets or trilogies anymore. the plot usually drags out and i lose interest pretty quickly. but, this series was a huge exception for me, and that's because i'm really invested in these characters, more so than i am in the main couple's love story at this point.
i cannot stress this enough. while these books don't have the length or complexity of, say, kb ritchie's books (only other example i could think of stories that focus on all the characters and not just the main couple), i still really liked the way they were written. for example, i don't think i've ever liked a heroine's ex boyfriend as much as i did here. the OM are usually stupid, or toxic, or bad in bed or whatever. ricky, blue (h)'s ex, is none of those things lol. i seriously can't wait for his story.
then there are the siblings– i love them all so much. i love how blue goes above and beyond for her little sister, scar, even if she can be a bit overbearing at times. i liked reading about scar and her possible love interests. i love west's brothers, dane and sterling (even if we still don't know much about the latter). i think you get the idea: these characters are fun to read about.
so while the pacing of this book felt off, because there are lots of chapters about these characters doing mundane things or going on a trip together while they should be figuring out some stuff and fighting the bad guys (lol) i cannot complain because i enjoyed the hell out of it. hell, the trip they make to meet the triplets' cousins was a lot of fun. you won't see me complaining about the story not moving forward, because i loved reading about the characters getting drunk and playing "truth or dare" 🤷♀️
my main issues with Forever Golden were the following:
🔹 how quickly things were resolved. even if the drama can be over the top at times, i was really hooked on this story and all its mysteries. so, if you take three books to build everything up, do not just solve it all in the last 10% 😭 it felt EXTREMELY quickly to me. to the point i think there are many loose ends. i know rachel jonas plans on continuing the plot in the following books, but i'm not convinced. spoiler:
🔹 not thaaaaat into the main couple anymore. okay, it pains me to say this because I LOVE west and blue and they are so sweet here. but i guess it's normal for me to not ship them with the same intensity that i did in book 1 or 2. they are already very much in love with each other and i can't help but focus on the other characters and their potential love stories 🤷♀️ still, they're perfect for each other and i'm glad they got their HEA ❤️
"It isn't lost on me that she doesn't let many people in, but somehow–even being the twisted fuck that I am–I managed to be counted in that number. I don't take that lightly."
to sum up: i totally recommend this series, even if it has its flaws. what begins as a typical bully romance becomes SO. MUCH. MORE. it's funny, well written, and the characters are so cute. and finally I CAN'T WAIT FOR THE NEXT BOOK. i've shipped joss and dane since l i t e r a l l y their first scene together and i have a feeling they're gonna serve the best friends to lovers trope. my expectations are really high but i have faith 😌
I couldn’t put it down I said take your time savor it but noooo the book was too good. There were no slow parts and alllllll of our questions were answered except one why did Pam let herself be walked all over? If you haven’t preordered this book or made plans to read this series then please do. Because you will not be disappointed!!!! I don’t know about you but I can’t wait for more about the Goldens and that includes all the cousins!!!!! Rachel Jonas and Nikki Thorne my hats off to for an excellent book and series!!!!!
Plot was sort of all over?? Like we don’t find out who gossip girl is and what’s the bigger picture in Hunter’s story. I wanted Ricky to stay and have his own love interest introduced….
But I’m giving this 3.5 stars bc of the lead ship and other characters. The fact that they’ve stood solid since last book and throughout this one warms something in my lil black heart. Over all this was a good series. I’m trying to keep September light so this was perfect for my mood.
*Deep breath* What a WILD ride! Blue and West have been through so much already, but apparently the world (ahem VIN) isn’t done torturing them yet.
There are so many secrets that come to light, you won’t know which way is up or who to trust! And who is Pandora?! Who is the mystery man? Why are they fighting? What is going on?! - Just a few of my thoughts while reading 😅
So happy with the conclusion here, and can’t wait to read more of this world through other characters and their stories. #BlueandWestforever
I've got this book as an ARC in exchange for an honest review.
Where do I start now?
I loved the whole mystery behind this book of who the "gossip girl" is.
In this third book we get answered some of our questions. Some relationships get questions and some heated.
To be quite honest I loved the first two books the most probably because of the suspense and unknown. In this third we didn't get it as much, or not as much of a sense of danger or I don't know how to explain it. However, this is only my feeling and get and will differ from other people.
I loved how Blue and West were supported an loveable. He would protect her no matter what and she's try the same thing!
When they met their family? That was enlightening and funny and light after all they suffered so far. Their grandpa is an awesome dude! I love that man!
Those cousins? Hell, I can't wait to see a story with them or a possible new triangle, which I don't know if I should be excited or terrified, haha.
We saw a little more involvement of Joss and Dane and I'd be lying if I said I don't want them together. I need them to be together as a matter of fact! They are perfect for each other, no matter what Joss thinks!
Sterling? Well, for him I don't know what to think. We haven't quite gotten to see a lot of him or his love interest so I'm interested in that a lot too.
Our beloved Ricky...I hope he finds the love of his life! He's such a nice guy and I wish him the best!
Also I truly love Scar and I need more of her and whoever she wants to end up with. Literally, I need that book NOW!!!
At last I need to be honest with my star rating and I'm going to give this book 3.8 stars. I loved the series but since the mysteriousness was dying a bit here for me and something was missing I have to.
I can't wait to read Dane and Joss's story and see how they end up together!
Gah, West and Blue have my whole heart, I'm pretty sure I've been saying that since book 1 but I just can't get enough of these two. I love their relationship and I hate their turmoil but I love the way they face it and the way they trust.
The Golden Crew has this amazing relationship and dynamic that I was obsessed with! West, Sterling, and Dane are everything and I can't wait to read Sterling and Dane's stories. Joss is somebody that I have grown to really care for and I hated seeing her sadness. Then there is Ricky, I love him fiercely and I want his book too! We can't forget Scarlett and Shane, I hope they find their way and find themselves a happily ever after.
But can we talk about the Bayou cousins for a minute? They spell trouble with a capital T and I am so here for it! I loved the little taste of them and their bad boy ways. These books are so good and so all consuming. I can't get enough! I have devoured this whole series and then gone back for seconds every time another book comes out. I have read each of these books more than once already. They feel so real, like they are real people and real events taking place.
I won't go into too much detail to avoid spoilers but let's just say I was happy to see the ending of this book but a bit disappointed that some questions weren't answered... I'm looking at you Rachel Jonas. ;) kidding of course, but seriously this series is a must read!!
The conclusion to this series was a bit disappointing if I’m being honest. I was hoping for a lot more action and excitement as the mysteries were unraveled and solved. Missed opportunity. But overall, the series was pretty good.
Back with the Golden Crew and once again, they did not disappoint. Not only do we get the conclusion (for now) of West and Blue’s story but we get to see a whole lot of the others...namely one Golden boy (can his story be up next!?).
We really get to see a wonderful side of West, not that we haven’t before, but his love for Blue shines insanely bright in this one. It’s endless and no matter what happens, he won’t ever stop loving her the way she deserves.
Blue learns a lot about trust and it is truly beautiful to see. She knows who her crew is and figures out that she is stronger with them, than alone.
Besides my love for these two, the other relationships that have so much growth in this book is amazing to see. The sisters are stronger than ever; the best friends who lean on each other; the cousins who keep us entertained and have each other’s back; the enemies who find common ground; the families that step up to the plate. The Vindication.
This crew has grown up and I can’t wait to see what’s next for them! I have a feeling that Rachel and Nikki are going to be keeping us on our toes!!
The third and final book for this couple and once again I can’t get over my love for Blue and West.
We jump straight back into the action from the ending of book two and I just need Vin to die. No pressure. After the cliffhanger ending in the last book West and Blue needed to figure out so much, not only to save their relationship but to keep Blue and Scarlett safe. For me, West really comes through in this book, he does things he really doesn’t want to do to keep his girl out of harms way. I loved the introduction to the cousins and getting more of Joss and Dane together. I have so many questions about who Sterling’s leading lady will be now too! This book was a brilliant conclusion for this couple. We still got all the build up and drama, with a happily ever after, but I’m so glad that they’ll be making an appearance in the brothers books. I need as much from this world as possible.
I was so happy that this book didn’t take the direction I thought it would. Blue and West are such a great couple ❤️ I constantly got 🦋at how intensely West loved Blue, considering how they started. The fact that they communicated and worked together with regards to Vin’s demands made me instantly satisfied with this story.
This writing was great and overall, the main characters were well developed. And the gossip girl element was the perfect way to further the story. I’m not even disappointed that we don’t know who Pandora is. For me it doesn’t really matter 🤷🏻♀️
All this being said, the lack of any real angst or drama between West and Blue in this book just made it a slower paced read, and a teensy bit boring 🫣. This probably could have been a duet if the authors took out some of the secondary characters or subplot lines that ended up fizzling out.
I’d still absolutely recommend this series for any bully romance fans who are not looking for anything too dark.
The third book in the Kings of Cypress Prep has been one of my most anticipated reads this year. I read the first two at the of January and have been desperate for the conclusion to West & Blue’s story ever since.
This book was sooo good. The secrets and mystery were so intriguing and you were just so eager to find out what was going on. I loved how Blue & West always worked together to fix things and were a really solid unit.
Blue is one of my favourite FMC, she’s sassy and strong willed but also really loving and soft towards her family and West especially. I loved watching her grow throughout these books, she dealt with more than any 18 year old should have to but came out so strong the other side.
And West was just amazing, he was so loving and open and affectionate towards Blue and always made her feel loved. He would’ve done anything for her and I just adored him and their relationship. He also grew so much as a character throughout the books and showed his real depth.
This series is one of my favourite bully romance series I’ve read; it does have triggering themes but it’s definitely not as dark as others I’ve read and I’d highly recommend it! All three books are available on KU now!
Ok I grabbed these books in KU and added whispersync and loved the narration. The first two books I was obsessed over and I had all these ideas on how the drama was going to be resolved and I was so excited I couldn't put it down. I was expecting an explosion or maybe like a huge succession of fireworks firing off one after the other until we got to our finale but instead I feel like I got a sparkler. It was all pretty anti climactic and kind of boring.
There were so many awesome secondary characters who could have blown things up in a spectacular way and it felt like they missed out on the opportunities.
Overall the story was good, I loved the characters, I loved the gossip girl like P, and I can't wait to read more books from these authors in the future.
Good god, this series has had me in its grasp for a little too long if you ask me.
The relationships that are developed within this book are outstanding.
I am impressed with the way that this series grabs you from the first book and throws you into the deep end along with everyone else at Cypress Prep. This series was just the right amount of romance but also mystery. I can't wait to finish out the last three books within this series.
This was almost a 4 star but This time, the pacing felt off. The first quarter was filled with mundane stuff which dragged, then it started to get interesting and all of a sudden the action picked up but not until the last 3 chapters. I was easily distracted until they got to the bayou and then things seemed to get interesting again. I hope we get to see the Wild cousins again in future stories.
This one fell victim to losing steam as often happens to all stories in their 3rd installment. The story dragged out even though it was nice to have some loose ends tied up like Mike, Hunter and the mom. I hope Scarlett gets her own story and I wonder who she'll end up with, Shane, Linden or Sterling - I felt a little something there.
I was disappointed that West did a 180 from alphahole and became the classic sappy, whipped boyfriend. I'd hoped he'd maintain more of his cocky, alpha ways with Blue. He became much too tame for my liking. I think Amo Jones' Bishop was the only character who didn't fall victim to the sappy, tamed former bad-boy and was still hawt 3 books in. Wish more authors would take note. Also, the sex became predictable and sparse in this installment. It lost its steam even though there was a desperate attempt to liven it up with the stolen moments, it still fell flat compared to the 1st book. But it's to be expected given that this installment was pretty sappy.
I'm dying to read all about Dane and Joss' story. I'm so happy they're getting their own book. Can't wait!!!
Everyone finally getting exactly what they deserve, whether it’s good or bad, is my absolute favorite part of a book. Luckily for me, his one was just filled to the brim of exactly that! It felt like it took a lifetime, but finally West shined his Golden rays upon us all, beaming with so much love, it almost overflowed. And Blue, finally seeing the good things in life. Just so much goodness in these pages, well worth the time I had to wait(it wasn’t long, but it felt like forever!)
It was so easy to dive back into this story! All my emotions from the first two books came rushing back to my and I couldn’t read fast enough! While I was sitting on the edge of my seat for most of it, I loved every word! I really enjoyed the Pandora moments ( and twist) peppered throughout the story, it really enhanced my reading experience! That ending was just brilliant, I loved how everything went down! This author is an automatic one clicker for me, and I can’t wait to see what’s next!!
Going to keep this short and sweet as so much happens within these pages. We get a lot of answers to things, some of them we had no idea to ask, and will certainly make future books in the series interesting. You'll get run through a gamut of emotions while madly turning pages from cover to cover. Secrets are sprinkled throughout the book but the action towards the end seems almost rushed as we've been waiting a long time for some of it. Leaving my review here so that I don't ruin anything. Look forward to seeing what happens next.
Rachel has done it again. I tried to savour this as I read it knowing it was the final book but I just couldn’t. The story line is great yet again and I got my fix of all the characters. Everyone got a chance to shine in this book and the ending well let’s just say it was fitting. If you like your enemies to lover reading then this series is. A must read
Blue and West's story has been a wild ride full of all the feels. An epic love story for an epic or should I say golden, couple. They have gone through the fire and come out the other side better and stronger. This book finishes up West and Blues main story arc and I'm sad too see its crazy conclusion. Looking forward to Dane and Joss next. In book one, I likened the author to Tijan, but now I feel Jonas stands on her own. I felt a connection to each character and laughed and cried along the way. Masterful character and story building. I can't say enough great things about this series. Bully YA romance. Told from multiple characters POV.
I read this book in one sitting it was so darn good! West and Blue’s story comes to a brilliant close with lots of drama and sexy action along the way. I can’t wait to see what else happens in this world but am very pleased with how this story ended.
Fantastic. Couldn’t of ended better. West and blue are fabulous characters that show opposites do attract. Still don’t know who’s Pandora but that’s ok. This book was epic. So much going on but it didn’t feel it was rushed either.
