Andino Marcello's world is turned upside down when overnight he goes from capo to boss-in-waiting for the Marcello empire. Here, duty waits on no one and with it comes expectations he isn’t sure he can fulfill. At least, not in a way the mafia expects.
Every choice in this life has consequences. Even if that choice is love.
The one thing Andino won’t budge on is having Haven Murphy at his side. No matter the cost, she will be his. Whether that means starting a war, hurting the person he loves the most, or changing the very foundation upon which the Marcello legacy was built.
For her, he will do it.
It’s the only vow he might be able to keep.

Andino + Haven: The Complete Duet features the full-length novels Duty and Vow as well as the companion novella, One Last Time.
The author of too many novels to count, Bethany-Kris is a Canadian, lover of much, and mother to four sons, a glaring of cats, and a pack of dogs. A small town in Eastern Canada where she was born and raised is where she has always called home. With her boys under her feet, a snuggling cat, barking dogs, and a spouse calling over his shoulder, she is nearly always writing something ... when she can find the time.
This is a reread for me. And the second time around was just as wonderful. But this time, there was an added companion novella that filled my heart with new material about Andino and Haven.
A vow is a promise or oath...... and Andino Marcello has taken a vow of duty, respect and honor for the Marcello Family. He has been tapped to become the next Boss but at what cost does his duty and vow to the Family cost him. “Heavy is the Head who wears the Crown.” He follows the rules, is a great made man and he always thinks of family first. But becoming The Boss is on a whole other level.
Haven Murphy is strong, feisty, full of tattoos and doesn’t back down. She’s not Italian and does not know of the business. All things that make her not and whom Andino should want or need.
Andino and Haven’s love story isn’t for the faint of heart. There is angst, manipulation, heartbreak, hope and eventually love. Bethany Kris and her talented and spirited words create magic and mayhem in Duty and Vow that had me addicted to my kindle.
One Last Time- time in the future with Andino and Haven is pure bliss. Seeing them married and how they handle work, family and each other made me love them even more as a couple. One last time with Andino and Haven was the perfect “more” to this amazing love story.

Andino + Haven: The Complete Duet features the full-length novels Duty and Vow as well as the companion novella, One Last Time.
Let's start off by saying that Bethany Kris is one of our all time favorite authors as her character's are intriguing,broken,deadly,love-able and she creates tons of drama, suspense, romance and awesome bad guys that always keeps us glued to the pages the entire time and Andino's Duet was all these things and more.
The character's in this current tale were totally awesome.I will have to admit that we have had a little bit of a love\hate relationship with Andino up to this point but, In this story we really saw Andino in a whole different light and we loved what we saw.Andino was all about family first meaning the mafia, but this time around Andino went to the extreme to see that his families safety and welfare of his mafia family and that of his families legacy . His family members were to protected at all cost and the threat to them gone once and for all.
We loved that Andino was smart ,conniving, cumming, a master manipulator in this tale but, what we loved most is that Andino was bitten by the love bug like so many others in his family and its the perfect time as his life is currently messy and hard and has tons of obstacles in his way but, he is working hard to obtain what he desires the most and it will be all the more rewarding if things play out the way he hopes they will. One thing that we always loved the most about Andino is his devotion to John whether it is watching his back or having it and also never treating him differently because of his struggling issues with mental illness.
Haven was a breath of fresh air and we loved her sassiness, winning personality, loyalty and her sexy good looks and her devotion to her family and friends and the lengths she goes to seeing them happy and healthy. We loved the little firecracker with her tell it like it is attitude and her attitude is just the right thing to shake things up in Andino's regimented world. We loved seeing a whole other side of Andino just by loving Haven and spending every free moment he had to spend with her as she calmed all the cogs that were always moving in his brain and with Haven he could turn it all off and just be Andino the man and not Andino the Don.
Andino with his dog Snaps priceless !
This tale took us on one heck of a ride with a very messy love story and a story that looked bleak and unattainable to having tons of drama, suspense, intrigue and a great cast of characters as those Marcello's are the bomb and that is including their women. This story was filled with a lot of moving parts and twists and turns keeping us constantly engrossed in the pages.Andino is playing one of the biggest chess games of his life to see if his play and his biggest gamble will play out the way he wants it to and then he would be rewarded with the only women he has ever loved and his desire to spend a lifetime with the women who stole his heart that is his everything and is his equal in every way.
"A beautiful written story and we absolutely loved it !"

3.5 stars Great world building, an anti hero that I loved, a journey that kept me captivated until the end. However the heroine frustrated mostly in the second part and that’s why I couldn’t fully enjoyed it at some point, even if the author was such a great story teller. It was somehow a pleasant surprise and the ending... just mind blowing!
RTC
Haven and Andino were living into two different worlds. When they met, times stopped for a while, an undeniable and powerful connection that would have consequences. Andino has so many responsibilities and duties at the moment. His family is everything, always coming first no matter what. Until his responsibilities and duties collided with the woman he just met, putting them in dangerous situations if he wasn’t careful. Haven is far away from his world, busy with her job as a successful bar owner. She didn’t expect that one man would make her head spin, making her fall in love so fast. A man so mysterious who she couldn’t stay away from. The first part showed how fast and hard they fell, living in that confort place when Haven was not aware of that side of Andino’s life. I saw that woman standing by herself, strong and definitely not a damsel in distress. I loved her personality. I felt like we were discovering more about Haven with little pieces of Andino. As the story unfolded, mostly with the second book, I adored seeing more of Andino. He revealed more about himself and I appreciated it. The plot was intriguing and well written, I was really surprised by the turning events. While I adored Haven in the first book, she drove me crazy and some of her reactions frustrated me, as well Andino with his sense of obligations and duties towards his family. For being obtuse and not thinking about how he must feel. I missed Haven most part of the second book, her strength and witty personality, she was unobtrusive. I wanted more conflict from her side. Maybe to make Andino working for more. Great world building, an anti hero that I loved, a journey that kept me captivated until the end. Bethany Kris is a great story teller. It was somehow a pleasant surprise and the ending... just mind blowing and emotional! The novella was a beautiful glimpse of Andino and Haven’s happily ever after, and I swooned a lot! Definitely what I was looking for.
After doing a re-read of this duet, I can easily say that I still love this couple so much! They are not the typical mafia couple, but they absolutely are a perfect match! Andino and Haven face their struggles and come out on top.
I can't stress this enough but Bethany-Kris is my mafia romance queen! She writes a flawless balance of mafia and romance! Andino + Haven: The Complete Duet by Bethany-Kris is a MUST read and will join the ranks of the BIBLIO-ELITE!!!
Duty- Why does it hurt so much? Its like our foolish hearts try to rationalize, hypothesize, and make excuses. Our heart speaks louder than our minds.
You know what he is. You know what he does. Despite your feelings, there is always something in the way. His family. His work. His lifestyle. Yet you still find a way to make excuses. You fall deeper, harder, and more in his spell...for what though!?!?
For an end that severs your hearts connection to your mind... For a hurt so deep your soul aches... To say one time you loved a man who was no good for you...
Haven truly wishes she knew. You will wish you knew too. I've always wondered if the saying "its better to have loved and lost than to never have loved at all is really true."
When its all said and done, he proved he would do his Duty. I'm personally ready to strangle Andino even knowing why. I just can't stand to see love lose. I'm so glad I have book 2 waiting for me. I would lose my mind waiting otherwise!
Vow- Vow. A vow can be said with many words, one word, or even a look. It can be made in the midst of a ceremony and a crowd or between two people alone in this world. Regardless of when and where it takes place, a vow has weight. It is not a flippant comment or an unintentional thing. A vow is a solemn promise. It may be made because of intense emotion. It may be uttered due to a sense of duty. It doesn't matter why; it matters because it is a purposeful and deliberate act.
Vow is exactly that; this novel is intentionally purposeful and methodically deliberate. Andino may seem off the cuff but absolutely nothing about this man is flippant. He acts. He conquers. He is deliberate. His love and relationship with the tattooed business owner may seem like a dalliance. It may even seem like they are fooling themselves but I Vow that you will understand just how deliberate ever action was, how every reaction is dealt with, and how Andino Marcello always gets what he wants.
Heaven and Hell be damned. He would not even let them deign to ruin his plans. After all, this is his kingdom and she...his Queen.
Vow is a whirlwind of anger, hurt, and love. It is impossible not to be swept up into the feelings, the chaos, and the heart breaking soul crushing reality. At least, we as the reader, can enjoy both sides of this complex puzzle. It is a saving grace for the empathetic reader!
I loved Vow. I loved Duty. I think I'm even more excited for One Last Time.
One Last Time- Bethany-Kris where have you been all my life!?! I say that because I feel like I have missed out on an entire world.
I picked up Andino and Haven: The Complete Duet on a lark. The cover model is cute. I liked the blurb...so why not?!?! Talk about a flippant and underwhelming response. Andino and Haven are incredibly addictive. Duty and Vow took over my days while I was reading. In a time where I am struggling to find the time to read, they consumed me.
One Last Time is the hot fudge on my triple decker over the top chocolate on chocolate sundae. Most would deem that much chocolate unnecessary or even unhealthy, they would be wrong. Every little scrap of more time, more love, just MORE with these two is better than the last. So of course I'm on board even if it's just for ONE LAST TIME.
Duty – The mafia life is the only life that Andino has every known and he is the heir apparent to the powerful Marcello family business, but everything has a cost. Haven is independent, owns her own business and knows what she wants and isn’t afraid to go after it. A casual encounter leads to love but will Andino have to choose between loyalty and love?
Vow – Andino chose loyalty to his family but he has a much bigger plan in mind. He is determined that he and Haven will be together, and he will ensure that she is accepted by his family but that is proving to be more of a challenge than he expected.
One Last Time – Catching up with this amazing couple and seeing how their love has endured and stood the test of time makes us only appreciate them that much more.
So I’ve actually never read anything by this author, until this duet. But I think I found a new favorite! Andino & Haven’s struggle to get to happiness is full of bumps in the road, but it isn’t without beauty either. Watching them overcome rules set by generations past, as well as current events was absolutely beautiful. The companion to the duet is included and gave us insight to their hea, which I absolutely loved! I’ll be reading more by this author, without a doubt.
I love Andino and Haven as much as I did the first time I read it. Re-reading this couple in a complete duet made it even more sweeter as there was no wait or anticipation for the book to release. This couple endures a lot of ups and downs but in the end their love prevailed. Andino reminds me of his uncle, Dante. He is broody and alpha. You can’t help but love him and Haven holds her own agains the bad boy. I flove this duet!
Andino + Haven: The Complete Duet is a ton of goodness in one place. First of all, there's Duty (Book 1) & Vow (Book 2) but there's a bonus, of One Last Time which made me so happy!
Duty: I've been reading the brilliant Bethany-Kris' work for a cool minute, and HOLY HELL Andino's story gutted me, and taken the place of favorite to date! I've seen him in other books, and always had a tiny thing for him, but now that I know him better, I'm full on in love. He's always been happy to just do the job he was given, and really wasn't all in for power, but he's now the heir for all the marbles in the Marcello empire, and he's conflicted because he's not sure he wants it. However, he knows that family comes before everything, so he's trying to get on board with it. Andino hasn't really met a woman who turned his world upside down until the day he runs into Haven, jogging while he walks his dog, which starts a seriously HOT journey with sexy times that light the sheets on fire. Then they start to catch strong feelings, but the family has let him know in no uncertain terms that she's not appropriate for his wife. Man, that had me sitting on the edge of my seat with heart pounding, because Andino couldn't stay away from her, and not only did f-bomb worthy twists come from that, but a whole lot of angst because I LOVED he & Haven together. So now I've reached the end, and it really jacked up completely as this #EVILWHOREQUEEN left me hanging so badly with anger & surprisingly to me, some eye leakage. OMG Vow CANNOT come out quickly enough for me, but in the meantime, I HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND Duty to ALL!
Vow: Vow is the conclusion to Andino + Haven so guess what folks? You MUST READ Duty (Book 1) FIRST! It picks back up where Duty left off with Andino picking duty to his family first, and Haven is left shattered, and trying to move on even if it meant giving up everything she had worked for. OMG, my heart broke for her throughout this whole story. And I know that Andino was working on a plan, but the way the brilliant Bethany-Kris wrote this story, it seemed like it would never work out, so I was on pins & needles cover to cover, never quite figuring out how it would all pan out. So obviously the twists took me for a ride that had the f-bombs dropping like they've never been dropped before. And the chemistry between these two was igniting & lighting up the sky like the 4th of July as well. So yeah, crazy was the order of the day 100%. Not to mention, there was a big bonus, I was granted a new look to John & Siena's story that I hadn't seen in the past which was amazing! So yeah, I have all kinds of feels still going strong from this Duet, which I'll read over & over again whenever the mood strikes! And I'll ALWAYS be waiting for more by this hella talented author so of course I HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND TO ALL!
And I'm not naming names or describing anything about One Last Time, so you'll have to hit those one click buttons to experience all this mafia goodness for yourselves! HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND TO ALL!
Another outstanding addition to this fabulous mafia series that I adorn. I am so invested in these terrific characters this author has given us and the stories about them. Family, God, duty. Such a dichotomy of values with these sophisticated criminals and their legacy empire. Next to the original filthy Marcello, Antony, Andino is the filthiest. The cunning brutality of his grandfather, the domineering control of Uncle Dante, the cold harshness of Uncle Lucian and the street smarts of his wise guy father, Giovanni. Andi was up and down for me in other stories and in this one. Sure, he has the Marcello good looks, charm and sexiness but he can be a cold bastard even to his family. The crown may be heavy but that's what his family is all about for the legacy to survive and he knows it. He may want to do it his way but he's selfish. Nothing against Haven because she's a boss babe. I loved her but not for the family. What Dante said at the end caused my heart to crunch. Is it the end of the male blood? The last true Marcello boss? I'm all in my feelings about that! Unlike others in this series I was left twisted up from Andino's story. I hate to say that because the romance between Andino and Haven was intense and sexiness personified and at times glorious. Ooh, he's a nasty one! The maneuvering and manipulation of Andino was masterful as he was determined to get what he wants and to lead the family in his manner. Some of his deviousness was spectacular as he positioned himself to have no opposition when the time comes for him to step up as the Boss. I loved how the family supported Andino and welcomed Haven. I do think Haven was ill prepared for the Marcello way of life. This can be read as a standalone but to really know this family it's best to start at the beginning. I started toward the end and went back to the beginning with the Marcellos. With this story I now know who Val is from Chris Guzzi's story. Yes! The light comes on! I'm all over the place with how I feel about Andino’s story because Dante did me in with his revelation. Ugh! I NEVER get caught up with characters like this! But we're on to the fourth generation with Lucky and little G and all the beautiful girls. The writing and storytelling are stellar as usual and I am always ready for more of this magnificent mafia world. I voluntarily reviewed an ARC. 4.5 stars
Below are my separate reviews for each part of this duet set. You are very lucky you can read Andino and Haven's love story back to back, without interruption or waiting! You can't ask for much more, IMHO. Bethany-Kris rocks mafia romance, especially with her The Chicago War and Filthy Marcellos series. I'd get right on those two series, as well, if I were you. I've been there, done that, and loved them all!
Book 1: Duty (5 stars), cliffhanger ending. Having been introduced and acquainted with Haven and Andino in previous books by this author, to say I have been greatly anticipating their own detailed, love story would be an understatement.
Andino is like the greek god Atlas. He seems to always have the weight of the world sitting on his shoulders. Well, except for when he is with Haven, who mentally and physically gives him refuge from the chosen to be the next boss, mafioso made walls closing in on him. Sure, he embraces his mobster heritage, its life, and the duties that come with it, but that doesn’t mean he doesn’t long for a life and some peace of his own.
This book bears witness to those responsibilities, expectations, family related issues, and Haven’s heartbreak as she feels like the unwelcome guest who shows up at a party uninvited. Andino is torn between his feelings for Haven and the scripted in stone, unbreakable mafioso rules everyone knows he must adhere to.
If you haven’t read the John + Siena two book series, well, I suggest you check into those, too. This book unfolds during the same time frame as those books. Bethany-Kris did an epic job with John’s bipolar disorder, which gets some book time here, as well. You’ll have a much better feel for the emotions and family drama at stake, among not just Andino and Haven but several sub-characters. It will give you a special behind the scenes backdrop of events that are referenced here. In fact, there are tons of cameos of the whole Marcellos clan, folks. But be warned. I personally had some issues with Andino’s at times callous, manipulative ways in the previous series.
With it’s cliffhanger ending, I was counting the mafioso minutes until I could get my hands on the next sequel. Again, obviously, you won’t have that delay. It was definitely worth the wait though, my fellow mafia romance book loving friends.
Title: Duty, cliffhanger, future mob boss hero, lots of relationship angst, romance safe, numerous/very graphic steamy/smexy scenes with lusty language, no cheating, no love triangle, no OW/OM drama, sassy/gorgeous/owns and operates a strip club heroine.
Book 2: Vow (4 stars) Vow, Book 2 of Andino and Haven’s love story, picks up shortly after the fallout/aftermath of the first book’s cliffhanger ending. Not surprisingly, there are shattered hearts and lives that must now be mended and pieced back together.
What Haven doesn’t fully comprehend at first is the fact Andino is one very calculating, patient person who fights for what he wants. He becomes a man with a plan who’ll take his time stacking the deck in his favor. One important mafioso life lesson he’s picked up watching and learning from his mafioso predecessors is the only way to truly survive being the next future mob boss is to make your own destiny before others decide it for you.
Haven simply couldn’t keep her love for Andino from getting in the way of allowing her heart to be repeatedly stomped on. No, no, this girl just couldn't say no. So be warned, along with the numerous, very detailed, graphic, steamy/smexy scenes with lusty language, there is a lot of rip your heart out, relationship angst, as well. I’m usually not a fan of a heroine who keeps setting herself up to be vulnerable. But, as usual, this author tends to lure me down a path I might not otherwise venture. For me, she always makes it worth it. Andino ultimately does prove he has what it takes to defeat the odds and win their HEA.
Title: Vow, very graphic steamy/smexy scenes with lusty language, future mob boss hero, owns a bar/strip club heroine, relationship angst, celibate during separations.
Includes 70 page companion novella, One Last Time. A brief visit ten years into their future.
Total pages: 604
(I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced reader copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own. I was not given any payment or compensation for this review, nor is there any affiliation or relationship between this reviewer and the author/publisher.)
Reading this duet again is still as addictive as it was the first time round. Only this time, I appreciated the thought process of Andino even more.
Andino is the next in line to take over the Marcellos empire. He has to abide by the mafia rules and there are certain requirements that as far as the previous boss is concerned have got to be met. Andino is all for family and duty comes first, and does his best to do what's required of him. Only when he meets Haven, a lot of things changes. This turn of event tests his loyalty and his own needs. When he wants something, he will use anything in his power to get it, no matter who it hurts.
Haven is not considered to be acceptable to the mafia, but unknowingly she falls for a mafia underboss. The pain and heartaches for this couple are quite poignant. Andino quietly and efficiently manipulates the situation to get what he wants. His heart wants what it wants, so why should he follow the path that his predecessor has set for him? Haven is near breaking point on a few occasions when she is quite prepared to give up and suffer, but her perseverance pays off in the end. Snaps deserves a mention as he is totally adorable.
The companion to this duet takes us to eight years later. Things haven't changed much between the happy couple. On the surface they have everything, but there is something missing. It's quite a delicate and hard situation, but together they navigate through the problem. The end of this story is rather beautiful, and I am really pleased to have revisited Andino and Haven. It's full of surprises!
I was kindly issued with an eARC and the views expressed are my personal opinion.
Meh. It was just okay for me. I was really looking forward to this one but wow it was just bleh for me. I had to force myself to finish it without dropping it to read something else.
I don't know, it just wasn't holding my attention. Maybe because I just finished John and Siena's duet and most of everything that happened in that timeline happened in this one but from Andino's POV? Maybe because it felt like the romance between Haven and Andino was luke warm at best to me and often forced? I didn't get their chemistry. Sure, at first I was like okay this is sparking but the way their supposed romance comes together was boring. We don't see very much tbh. We're told they spend nights together when they can and have dinner at his place, yada yada yada. We don't experience it tho! And then they move to unprotected sex without even a discussion or a mention of the change by the author which is usually not the case in her other books. I don't know, I just wasn't feeling them. Maybe they could've been written better, maybe it got drowned out by the amount of mafia shit going down around the entire romance bit. 🤷♀️
Another issue for me was the h Haven. I just didn't like her. Early on I did, but again it was early in the book so it's all first impressions right? Well the more I dealt with her inner thoughts and her personality the less I cared. She bored me. I didn't find her interesting at all by the end and I don't see what was so special for Andino to lose his dick over her, ya know? She didn't stand out to me aside from her unique look with tattoos. She was average and for her to be the h who ended up with the future Marcello boss? Pfft disappointing to say the least..
In the end I wasn't much a fan. Sadly. I didn't get Andino's undying love for Haven and I didn't feel any of the angst for Haven and how she bemoaned endlessly about how he hurt her over and over yet she opened her legs everytime he came around. So whatever.
“𝙃𝙞𝙨 𝙨𝙝𝙤𝙪𝙡𝙙𝙚𝙧𝙨 𝙛𝙚𝙡𝙩 𝙝𝙚𝙖𝙫𝙮 – 𝙩𝙤𝙤 𝙝𝙚𝙖𝙫𝙮 𝙩𝙤 𝙨𝙪𝙥𝙥𝙤𝙧𝙩 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙝𝙚𝙖𝙙 𝙩𝙝𝙖𝙩 𝙬𝙖𝙨 𝙢𝙚𝙖𝙣𝙩 𝙩𝙤 𝙬𝙚𝙖𝙧 𝙖 𝙘𝙧𝙤𝙬𝙣…” ⠀⠀ The Andino + Haven duet was a reread for me (probably the 10th time). However, this time there was an added bonus of the companion novella ‘One Last Time’. ⠀⠀ Books one and two (Duty and Vow) illustrate the story of how Andino Marcello and Haven Murphy fall in love despite the challenges that they face surrounding Andino’s obligations to the La Cosa Nostra. In these novels, we see Andino change from the rule-following and never toeing-the-line Capo to a manipulative Underboss (and king in waiting) who will stop at nothing to get what he wants. This being Haven – a woman considered to not be appropriate for Andino because she is a non-Italian, tattooed outsider and owner of a ‘strip’ club. ⠀⠀ Throughout this book, the audience is captivated by Andino and Haven’s heartbreak as well as the war brewing between the Marcello and Calabrese mafia families. The peak of book two (Vow) sees Andino’s plan unravel and come into effect, depicting the true extent of his manipulation and love for Haven. ⠀⠀ The novella One Last Time forwards about ten years into the future and shows Andino and Haven as the proud parents of three girls. Whilst maintaining the mafia as a central theme, this book illustrates the very real challenges that a lot of couples have with conceiving a child. Overall, it was a perfect addition to the duet and end to the novels as we get a glimpse of Andino and Haven living their best lives. ⠀⠀ ARC provided in exchange for an honest review.
I know I've said this before about Bethanykris but I feel like it always needs repeating... she does Mafia romance so amazingly I swear when I hear mafia romance I think of her! Andino will soon take over his uncles seat as the boss of the Marcello family. The catch he has to marry and not just any girl but an Italian girl. The day he meets Haven though changes the course of his life. Haven owns a strip club. Shes always succeeded at what she put her mind to. What Andino wants Andino will get. Theres pain and hurt but to keep Haven safe Andino must look as if hes playing along. Haven may be stubborn but Andino isnt a man who will give up on what he loves. From start to finish I was rooting for Andino. You get to watch him become the Boss he wants to be not the Boss his uncle wants. A beautiful romance within the mafia storyline. I recieved an ARC in exchange for a honest review.
Sinful and Scorching...5+ Stars Andino Marcello, forest green eyes, good-looking, the next boss of the New York Cosa Nostra and Haven Murphy, beautiful, blonde hair with streaked waves of teal and purple, tattooed and owner of a strip club. Brilliantly written, this is a love story full of hurt and pain. When Andino and Haven come together be prepared for sinful sex, but their love could never be. She couldn't be the wife he needed as the Boss. But Andino will not bend on this, she will be his no matter the consequences. This is a phenomenal story that will capture you and keep you prisoner until the last word.
I love how Bethany writes, her mafia books are one of the best.
I love how Andino has this strong fearless personality and Haven compliments him so well, she is a fierce business woman that can handle a lot of things. Had a really wonderful time reading this one. He loves her but it’s not the right time for them to be together and she feels that she can’t be with him because of how he hides her from his family so he must choose his family or her. That’s quite a pickle, guys I can’t tell you everything because then I would’ve be giving out a lot of spoilers but if you love mafia and strong big alpha men then this is your book.
What a journey with this. I couldn't put this down. I am glad in a way that I was able to read this in one sitting because this duet had me on the edge of my seat, or Kindle. Andino and Haven have a love that transcends everything. There are so many obstacles in the way that it seemed as though maybe they should just give up, but that's not how Andino works. He knew what he was doing and he was not going anywhere without Haven by his side. The dessert was having the companion novella One Last Time.
A fantastic read. Its complex, emotional, angsty, and downright dirty. Andino gets what he wants and stops at nothing to get it. He's smoldering, just oozes a dark intensity that attracts like no other. Haven, a tattooed goddess, holds strength that you can't help but admire. But Andino is calling to her on every level, like a siren, pushing and pulling and molding her every thought and feeling. I'm just enthralled by this book, it just begs you to feel so deeply. Pure perfection!
How does one write a review about another faction of a Mafia famiglia that I have not written before? I loved this duet. Other words come to mind -- engrossing, enthralling, page turner. BK does write exceedingly good books and this set keeps the reader wanting more.
Not sure where I've been or why I haven't known about this world longer but damn I'm glad I do now. Andino and Haven's story have got me hooked and ready to read about all the other characters. The realness of both of them was what I loved the most. The fact that it's mafia may not be normal but their experiences were very relatable. Also Haven's feistiness made me love her from the start. I also loved all the side characters and am excited to read their books as well.
