Both became the third and fourth wheel thus forcing them to spend alot of time together and eventually grow to become friends. Now standing at the alter beside her bestfriend Kennedy as her maid of honor she locks eyes with the best man Liam. Who looks absolutely delicious in his Suit. Did I mention these two are bestfriends and she definitely shouldn’t be having these thoughts. Brooke knows she should not be letting how good Liam looks get to her because men like him were nothing but trouble and Brooke knew that Liam Gentry would wreck her. . “𝙄𝙛 𝙮𝙤𝙪 𝙬𝙖𝙣𝙩 𝙩𝙤 𝙥𝙧𝙚𝙩𝙚𝙣𝙙 𝙡𝙞𝙠𝙚 𝙩𝙝𝙖𝙩’𝙨 𝙖𝙡𝙡 𝙩𝙝𝙞𝙨 𝙞𝙨, 𝙩𝙝𝙚𝙣 𝙡𝙚𝙩’𝙨 𝙥𝙧𝙚𝙩𝙚𝙣𝙙.” 𝙃𝙞𝙨 𝙝𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙢𝙤𝙫𝙚𝙙 𝙛𝙧𝙤𝙢 𝙢𝙮 𝙟𝙖𝙬 𝙩𝙤 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙗𝙖𝙘𝙠 𝙤𝙛 𝙢𝙮 𝙝𝙚𝙖𝙙. “𝙊𝙣𝙚 𝙢𝙤𝙧𝙚 𝙣𝙞𝙜𝙝𝙩.” 𝙈𝙮 𝙝𝙖𝙞𝙧 𝙩𝙞𝙜𝙝𝙩𝙚𝙣𝙚𝙙 𝙞𝙣 𝙝𝙞𝙨 𝙛𝙞𝙣𝙜𝙚𝙧𝙨, 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙚𝙫𝙚𝙣 𝙩𝙝𝙤𝙪𝙜𝙝 𝙄 𝙬𝙞𝙨𝙝𝙚𝙙 𝙞𝙩 𝙝𝙖𝙙𝙣’𝙩, 𝙖 𝙨𝙢𝙖𝙡𝙡 𝙢𝙤𝙖𝙣 𝙛𝙚𝙡𝙡 𝙛𝙧𝙤𝙢 𝙢𝙮 𝙡𝙞𝙥𝙨. “𝙈𝙖𝙠𝙚 𝙢𝙚 𝙗𝙚𝙡𝙞𝙚𝙫𝙚 𝙩𝙝𝙖𝙩 𝙄’𝙢 𝙣𝙤𝙩𝙝𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙩𝙤 𝙮𝙤𝙪.” . ⭐️ 5 "Tennessee Heat" Stars ⭐️ It had been a while since my last read by Holly Renee and I didn’t realize how much I miss her stories until I started Trouble with the Fake Boyfriend. I was excited to read this fake relationship romance as the previous novel in the series was so entertaining. This third book in the Rock Bottom Series was so freaking good, mixing the right dose of humor, feelings, and passion!
I can’t say how many times I found myself laughing at Brooke’s antics. That girl is funny and really charming. Her relationship with Liam has always been complicated with a palpable attraction, but they kept it platonic for years. When Liam lies to his mother saying he’s got a girlfriend, Brooke is the perfect candidate to play the part. But is it really acting when these confusing feelings have been brewing for years between them?
I adored how those two slowly realizes that they have true feelings for each other. Liam is seriously the perfect guy and this little trip in his hometown shows a different facet of him. He’s more approachable and carefree; his southern charm is so apparent and enticing. But it’s also the place where he’s been hurt in his past relationship and the perfect opportunity to finally put the past behind and let his heart heal and relearn to trust.
Brooke and Liam’s relationship is so combustible and the sparks flying between them had me giddy for them to explore this intense attraction. The passion in their intimate moments gives place to scorching hot scenes that had me fanning myself. I not only enjoyed their physical bond, but most of all their emotional dynamic that grows so much and gave me butterflies in the stomach. They're such a beautiful pair sharing some dreamy moments together!
Trouble With the Fake Boyfriend had me thoroughly delighted! I read this romance novel in one sitting and wanted more of this magnetic couple! Holly Renee delivered a humorous, highly romantic, sexy read that I just couldn’t get enough!
Trouble with the Fake Boyfriend is a perfect fake dating story about Liam and Brooke that I absolutely devoured. I don’t think there’s a book Holly’s written that I didn’t love and damn did this one just hit me with all the feels. It was an entertaining feel good story with realistic characters - just the right amount of angst and humor filled with hot chemistry and steam. I loved it so much and is definitely a must read for any fake dating fan. Liam and Brooke will always be one of my favorites.
Huhhh... I missed this series and all the characters!!! I love the way Holly Renee writes! I mean... this book just sucked me in from the very first page!!! This was a feel good kinda book! It had a bit of everything... but just the right amount of it.
“I was at risk any moment I was with her. I just didn’t know it until that moment that she was becoming a risk I was willing to take."
I could feel the build up between Liam and Brooke from the beginning. It just got stronger and stronger once they spent more time together.
I loved reading the moment Liam fell for Brooke. The way he would look at her when she would laugh and smile! I could just feel it. Brooke... she didn’t want to get hurt. She tried playing by Liam’s rules. But she fell pretty fast.
I loved Liam & Brooke. But I was also happy to read about Jase & Sophie & Tucker & Kennedy!!! I loved that there wasn’t any over the top drama. Everything felt natural between Liam & Brooke.
This was definitely a good read!! I hope there’s another book in this series!!!

(This same review is on my blog Goodreads account.)
“I didn’t want to marry the guy. I just wanted to see what his penis felt like on my insides.”
How could you not love Holly’s stories? They’re always fun, steamy reads with realistic characters.
Because I knew getting my heart broken by a girl like Brooke would be nothing like what happened with Katie. Brooke would destroy me piece by piece, and I wasn’t willing to give her the chance to do so.
I loved being back in the Rock Bottom world. Liam and Brooke are perfect together.
" I was at risk any moment I was with her. I just didn't know it until that moment that she was becoming a risk I was willing to take"
I'm yet to find a book by Holly that I haven't loved, she has a way with words that just makes your heart happy!
I was absolutely gripped by this fake relationship story , its hot and steamy ,witty and entertaining and Brooke and Liam have chemistry that's of..the..charts....and yes a few times I wanted to reach into my kindle and bash them over the head to just " open your damn eyes and see whats in front of you"
A brilliantly written story with fantastic characters ,it always makes me happy to be back in a book with characters I've loved before and I cant wait for whats next.
This is such a fun read but I expect nothing less from a Holly Renee book. Brooke and Liam’s story is a joy to read and their chemistry is hot. I enjoyed every page. This book will definitely be one that I re-read when I need a pick me up. Can’t wait for the next one in this series.
I haven't met a Holly Renee book I haven't liked and this one was no exception. The banter and the tension and there were times the steam had me going "oh my damn."
The relationship in this story may start off fake but there's NOTHING fake about how much I loved it!!!
Oh Liam. Oh Brooke. Fake boyfriends, friends to lovers, family that wants the best for their loved one. This one ticked all the boxes. Sent us on a road trip, an almost one night stand, and more accidentally real dates than anyone had planned. I loved this one. I loved the friendships, the family, loved the couple. Two super stubborn people that melt like ice on a hot day when they’re with one another, despite their bravado. Love.
I love fake relationship tropes. I read this book in one sitting. I enjoyed it immensely. Holly Renee has this raw talent for making my forget everything around me. Brooke and Liam have been tiptoeing around each other since book 1 in The Rock Bottom Series and I AM HERE FOR IT!
Golden boy Liam tells his mama he’s got a women, so what happens when he has to go back home for a wedding and needs a date? Well hello Brooke! I loved this book. I want more from Holly! Definitely recommend!!
OMG FINALLY!!!!! I’ve been waiting for Liam and Brooke to get their story since the very first book. I mean it’s been SO long that I honestly couldn’t remember what came before until I read my previous reviews and it hit me like a ton of bricks. I was finally getting the book with the characters I’ve been dying for since forever. I am here to admit the wait was 11000% worth it.
Brooke and Liam met when Liam and Tucker moved in next door to get and Kennedy. With Tucker and Kennedy going from friends to in love they spent more and more time together. Now they’re at Tucker and Kennedy’s wedding and things are about to change.
Brooke has always found Liam attractive but Liam doesn’t do relationships. Brooke isn’t against dating but with the way she was raised she doesn’t want to date a guy just to have a guy.
Liam has had his heart broken. He didn’t even see the heartbreak coming until it smacked him like a ton of bricks. Him and Tucker left their childhood home in Tennessee and he hasn’t looked back.
Liam focuses on work. He refuses to fall in love again so he doesn’t do more then a night here or there with a woman. But, Brooke isn’t like most girls. Liam has been attracted to her since day one but Brooke isn’t the type of girl you have one night and walk away, so he’s kept her at arms length.
While at Tucker and Kennedy’s wedding Liam and Brooke hook-up but before things go all the way Liam walks away like nothing happened. Neither of them have been the same since that wedding reception. They ignore each other as much as possible.
That is until Liam opens his mouth and inserts his foot directly into it. Liam is going home for his cousins wedding. While on a phone call with his mom, she’s harassing him about girls. Liam for whatever reason tells her he has a girlfriend. That doesn’t shut her up nope it does the opposite. Now, he’s expected to show up for the wedding with the girlfriend he said he has. Yeah I was legit sitting outside pretending I was sitting next to Tucker Lmao off with him.
Liam must find a girlfriend and quick. When Brooke’s name gets put out there Liam realizes it’s not a bad idea.
Liam talks Brooke into going home with him for the week and being his fake girlfriend. Liam gives her a preposition Brooke can’t refuse. They put some rules down and away they go.
Brooke knew she had feelings for Liam but knew where he stood on the subject of her and relationships. Liam knew Brooke wasn’t somebody he could have and walk away, so he never acted.
They both had their own pasts that made them who they were today. Both portrayed themselves one way but on the inside they were something else. Neither of them thought spending a week at Liam’s childhood home with his parents and friends was going to be so hard.
Their chemistry was off the charts crazy smoking hot. It was easy to pretend to be dating bc their feelings were there and real. Even if they didn’t realize it or wanted to admit it.
Brooke def wanted to push Liam away before she got hurt. Once Liam realized he loved Brooke he’d do anything to keep her for real.
Once I opened my kindle I couldn’t put it down until I knew these two got their HEA. I said it before and I’ll say it again. The wait for Brooke and Liam’s HEA was totally worth the wait.
I’m glad Holly Renee finally got around to writing this story and publishing it. I really am excited to read her next release.
SWEET Holy Renee- this is just the feel good story I needed. This is the kind of story that makes you swoon and smile. This book has a charming authenticity- a sweet and straightforward narrative about how easy it is to love someone when you just let yourself fall. Playing on the friends to lovers and fake dating trope, The Trouble with the Fake Boyfriends is a fast and light read about what happens when a pretend relationship all of a sudden feels real.
Brooke and Liam’s best friends just got married- which means their lives have intersected for a while. Their friendship could really be described as tentative- they get along famously, but the clear attraction between them has made Liam hesitant and Brooke frustrated- especially since this beauty is use to landing who she wants.Fortunately, she knows ow to push Liams buttons, and these two find themselves pushing the boundaries of friendship in a moment of honesty. But Liam is a one time guy, or so Brooke thinks- and her heart is already involved, which is why she’s hesitant to be Liam’s fake girlfriend on a trip home for a wedding. He makes her an offer she can’t refuse, and these two get to faking. Trouble is- Brooke so naturally fits into Liam’s life, like she was made for him- and quality time together starts to blur real and pretend.
Brooke is a delightful heroine- she’s funny, unapologetic about who she is, and seemingly an open book. Many see her as a bold pretty face, but she’s more than her looks- she’s ambitious, incredibly caring, and has a subtle vulnerability that made you want to hug her. She’s the kind of heroine that you desperately want to be best friends with- she charms and endears. Liam is sexy AF- he’s just a good guy. He’s got some relationship scars, but he shows the most growth because of them. I loved how he doesn’t let them fall into the miscommunication trope- he pushes and acts, and I loved it. Their chemistry is sweet and sexy- they just click and seem so comfortable and natural with each other. There’s a steadiness to their connection.
The tension is minimal, the angst pretty low and quickly resolved, and the story is really focused- we get some fun side character action but for the most part Holly keeps things moving quickly in exploring their connection. I flew through this in one sitting. Brooke and Liam’s story was soft and sweet- with just the right dash of heat. These two put a huge smile on my face, and their story lifted my spirits. Just adorable!
I found my newest book boyfriend!!! Out of all 3 books I was waiting for this one! I had on clue if Liam and Brooke would get together but when I read the synopsis for book 3 and they did I rushed reading the other 2 to get to this one lol. Liam had me the moment he opened the door in book 1. Swooning is not even the word!
Book 3 ends the series for these couples, and It was every bit as good as the first 2 if not more. Liam and Brooke felt so right together, but it was a matter of them getting on the same page. While their best friends were together it was not guarantee for success for them. Liam was the gorgeous and successful Playboy. A man purely devoted to one night stands with no chance of settling down anytime soon. Liam gave you the good Southern boy next door feel who was sweet and devoted to friends and family. A bad breakup from his past made him the Playboy he was at present. Brooke was beautiful, bold, and loyal. She wanted the husband, house, 2.4 kids and the picket fence. However she felt that her body was her only asset and that men would not want her for anything other than her beauty and body.
When Liam lies to his family about the new lady in his life that is when he and Brooke strike a deal to have her be the "fake" gf for a week with him in TN. The moment they hit play for the audience things begin to take a turn for them both. Each one feeling the intensity of their feelings and attraction, but afraid of what more would bring. Liam falls hard and fast and wonders how he ever felt anything else for Brooke. Brooke loved his mother, impressed his friends, and managed to work her way to his heart.
Their story was everything, and I am eager to read it again.
I have yet to find a Holly Renee book I haven't loved and Trouble with the Fake Boyfriend is no exception. I have loved Brooke and Liam since Bottoms Up (Trouble with the Guy Next Door).
Liam and Brooke may have started in a fake relationship but there is nothing fake about the chemistry and attraction they have for each others. These two were not at all ready for what they got with this agreement. It was clear from the start that they could lie about their feelings but they were perfect and meant to be together. But the clearer that became the more they lied.
Holly Renee delivers the perfect amount of angst, funny, and steam. Her words are amazing. Her plot is great and the characters are perfect. We've seen both Liam and Brooke before and while it wasn't a ton about them it was enough to get us interested.
Trouble with the Fake Boyfriend is the perfect example as to why I love Holly Renee books. She knows how to deliver the perfect amount of everything. I love fake relationship books and Holly Renee just gave us this amazing one.
When I started this book I didn’t really know what to expect since I did not read the other two books beforehand, but I didn’t have too, both Liam and Brooke had me hooked from the get-go that I devoured this book in no time!
Liam and Brooke characters were so realistic that you could totally relate to them. This story had a little bit of everything from humor, to sweetness, and definitely hotness!
This was my first book by this author but it won’t be my last. So If you like the whole fake boyfriend/frenemies vibe you’ll love this book!
Audiobook reviews: Kasi Hollowell and Neill Thorne both did an awesome job narrating Trouble with the Fake Boyfriend.
I loved every dang second of this book! I really didn't think anyone would hold a candle to Tucker and Kennedy but Brooke and Liam are my new faves. I just loved the fake dating trope, and I especially loved how sweet and supportive Liam's parents were. This is sweet and spicy and literal perfection! Spice is 🌶🌶.5
When I say I devoured not only this book but the whole series I wasn't lying. Once I picked up the first book I just kept going.
Brooke and Liam were the one couple I couldn't wait for! Since the first book I fell in love with them and needed to see where their story would take them. I loved each one of these books in this series for different reasons but Brooke and Liam blew me away!!
Brooke has a totally different side to her. There is so much more to her then that sassy girly girl. Once you peel her layers back you'll discover a whole new person.
Liam my Liam boy he's a tough nut. He doesn't do relationships for a reason. Then when he finds himself in a lie....well that's when Brooke shows up.
I don't read too many fake relationship books but this one changed my mind on them. There's humor....swoonworthy moments....and sad ones as well. This is a series you won't put down until you've read them all!!!!
Vi do un consiglio.
Liam Gentry, inoltre, crea dipendenza. Vi ritroverete a non averne mai abbastanza. Vi ritroverete a voler leggere senza mai fare una pausa. Vi ritroverete a invidiare come non mai Brooke.
Pessima idea.
Liam non può farne a meno? No, e capirete leggendo il perché.
Metterlo in pratica metterà in seria difficoltà entrambi.
E allora via.
recensione a cura del blog "Libri Magnetici" by Anna R.
Brooke and Liam have been dancing around each other for a long time, with things coming to a head at their best friend’s wedding. Nothing came of that one-off sexual encounter, and two months later they’re both pretending it never happened. Liam has a problem, though - his cousin’s wedding is coming up and his mom is desperate for him to bring a nice girl. So he makes Brooke an offer: if she pretends to be his girlfriend, he’ll help her buy a building to open up her dream spa. But once they’re forced together, pretending to be in love, they both realise they can’t pretend they don’t have deeper feelings for each other.
I quite liked this. Not as much as the previous two books in the series - mainly because the tropes aren’t my absolute favourites - but it was quite a nice read. Like in the previous books, the writing is quite strong and engaging and the romance was good. They had good chemistry and there were some really hot, steamy moments between them. I liked both characters and I was really rooting for something to happen between them.
However, I did have some issues. Liam’s past heartbreak didn’t work for me as a plot device and, having read the other 2 books in this series in rapid succession, some plot points of this series have started to feel repetitive. The plots rely a lot on hugely misunderstanding very small interactions between the main characters and other people, and I thought this was especially weak in this one.
This was an entertaining read, though, and I think if you’re looking for a quick and steamy fake relationship romance this could be for you.
Lots Of Confusion and Angst For Brooke!😢🙏💘 A Cute As Hell Happily Ever After!😍💘 (Read Using Kindle Unlimited) Trouble with the Fake Boyfriend (Rock Bottom #3)
Brooke has wanted Liam, her neighbour, since she set eyes on him. He took one look at her and flat out told her they'd never happen, not even a one night stand!😲 He didn't say why. He's always made her feel of kilter and she can't read him at all. She just *knows* he'll never want her, let alone want anything more with her!😔
Liam sees how beautiful and sexy Brooke is, but what he sees more is that she'd be huge trouble to his new 'never committing to another woman again' philosophy, she's exactly what he doesn't need!🙈 As their best friends all start pairing off together, they can't avoid each each other so they have a flirty stand-off'ish type of friendship going on over those years. Then he needs her help to be his fake girlfriend at a family wedding. Brooke's terrified her heart won't survive, Liam is supremely confident they'll pull it off and come out unscathed!💥 I absolutely loved his parent's and loathed Katie!😡 I hope she got punched again.😉
I liked this couple, I've especially loved Brooke throughout the entire series. I just didn't love her getting this super angsty storyline, it's a completely personal preference! I really felt like her character deserved sweeping off of her feet like Kennedy and Sophie both were!💘🔥💥 The inability of Brooke to read Liam caused a disconnection I felt as a reader. Liam's POV's often weren't much help, as his actions seemed in conflict with a lot of his thoughts and feelings, I could see why Brooke was confused by him!😂
When they were 'faking it' they were completely cute, you could feel how right they'd be together if they could both just drop their guards.😔 Their whole night at the fair was perfection - the scene where Liam helped a little boy, so sweet!😍 Thankfully it was all worth it in the end!🔥💘 I'm quite certain I'll be back to read more of this Author's back catalogue soon.🌟
Brooke & Liam have been friends & neighbours for years but have always had their eyes on one another. Brooke’s best friend, Kennedy & Liam’s best friend, Tucker, have their beautiful wedding and some newfound territories are explored by Brooke & Liam. That exploration takes a stop and Brooke ends up being resentful for the way it went down (for the most part).
Liam and Brooke’s avoidance of one another is obvious after that event takes place but then Liam ends up in a situation where he needs a fake girlfriend to appease his mother. Liam has to attend a wedding back home and is going for a week but he told his mother that he had a girlfriend (after some motherly harassment occurs) to which she says she wants to meet her & bring her along to the wedding. Cue Brooke. After some grovelling & a deal, Brooke is on-board for being a fake girlfriend. However, spending a week with Liam’s parents (especially his mom) and Liam in his hometown, she realizes that her feelings for him are beyond what she thought & he realizes that he should get over some past hurt to make Brooke his (for real).
I normally don’t venture into the fake boyfriend troupe but this had some other ones I enjoy : small town romance & friends to lovers. I’ve read a few of Holly Renee’s books (book 3 from the Good Girls series & book 1 from the Rock Bottom series... that’s why when reading this one I remembered Tucker & Kennedy) and enjoyed them. I liked the banter and chemistry between Brooke & Liam. I especially enjoyed the fact that Brooke is headstrong. She doesn’t give in easily and knows what she wants. Liam is that guy who as wounded as he may be, knows what he wants in a woman and he may be slow to go for it but he’s persistent. I appreciate that wholeheartedly and you will too. Now I gotta read book two... or I should start the whole series again... just to get to Liam & Brooke again. *sigh*
After reading Trouble With the Fake Boyfriend, I'm not sure why I haven't read more of Holly Renee, but I'm about to remedy that. I absolutely loved it!!! This book is a feel good story that left me smiling from ear to ear. The writing flowed flawlessly, the character development remarkable, and the plot was fun and entertaining.
Liam had his heart broken in the past and was more of a "I'm just looking for some fun" type of guy. Brooke isn't necessarily against relationships but due to her upbringing, she needs to prove to herself that she can be independent and happy. When Liam has to go back home for a cousin's wedding, he's expected to bring his girlfriend...one he doesn't really have. He takes this opportunity to offer Brooke a deal. All she has to do is pretend to be his girlfriend for a week.
Liam and Brooke are straight fire. Their chemistry set the pages ablaze. The flirty banter and delicious angst kept the pages turning so fast, I finished in one sitting. What started out as fake turned into something neither of them were ready for and they are so amazing together. I lived for those moments of realness between them. I loved that Liam was so possessive yet sweet and caring.
Fake boyfriend trope is so underrated in my opinion. I seem to forget how much I love them until I read another one and this is one you don't want to miss! A feel good, must read for 2020.
This book was PERFECT. Oh my gosh it was the best blend of hilarious and swoony, and I just felt so giddy while reading. I was charmed and laughing from the very first page and front stop until I finished. It was just so sweet, so happy, and so adorable!! This was my first truly enjoyable read in so long!!
I'm a long time lover of both friends to lovers and the fake relationship trope, and combined it was just wonderful!! Brooke and Liam have been dancing around each other since the moment they yet, but at the wedding of their mutual best friends, their attraction finally comes to a head. And just when Brooke thinks she finally has him, he walks away. Now Liam is in need of a fake girlfriend to bring home to his parents, but will what's left of their friendship survive? Or will they be able to find a true, honest and beautiful love?
I can't say it enough: I loved, LOVED this book!! Liam and Brooke balanced each other our perfectly, and their banter was just so on point! They had such a beautiful connection, and you can just *feel* the love they have for one another leap off the page, even when they are denying it themselves.
This was just such a sweet and endearing read with the right amount of heat! I stated and finished this is one sitting, and immediately wished I could go back and read it again for the first time. This is truly a special book!!
Make sure you one click when this goes live!
**I received an ARC of this book and these are my honest opinions!**
