The Anatomy of Jane

Rate this book
Jane

I’ve always been on my own. My life used to consist of nothing but work, keeping Allen out of trouble, and if I had time, sleep. Then I became their maid.

Max

Every day more than half a million people tune in to watch my show. They trust me. I know it’s because I’m the only son of the prominent Emerson family. However, I like to believe it because I’m honest no matter what story I report on. I’m honest about everything but the man I’ve been f**king for the last four years… and now her.

Wesley

First I want three things: First Maxwell Emerson and Jane Chapman both in my bed. Second, to be the best bloody chef in the country. Third, to figure out how to simultaneously get the first and second things I want without any of us getting hurt.

THREE PEOPLE.

ONE LOVE STORY….

Amelia LeFay is a character of my own imagination. She’s a single woman in her mid twenties in love with sex. Dirty sex, rough sex, sex of any type. She’s not a whore or a slut. She believes a woman should be aloud to sexually express herself anyway she wishes.

She stands for Gay Rights, Women’s Rights, the rights of Minorities, and Environmental protection.

She can be a bitch but doesn’t think there is anything wrong with that.

She has uneven boobs, stretch marks on her ass, astigmatism, and thighs that rub together as she walks. (Which means no pair of jeans last as long as she wishes they would.)

But most importantly Amelia is a Dreamer…she has dreams so big it scares even her, because if she fails…if she can’t make it…she feels like nothing.

★★★★★! The Anatomy of Jane, book 1 of 2. To cover up a secret m/m relationship Max & Wes invite Jane into their lives & bed for some kinky times that soon gets complicated!

“I was unable to tear my eyes away from them as they ripped each other’s clothes off. It was two men, no better make that two gods that I must have dreamt up.”

Books in WJM duet should be read in order:
Book 1: The Anatomy of Jane
Book 2: The Anatomy of Us

The Anatomy of Jane (book 1) opens up to Jane Chapman’s life in shambles. She goes from bartender to maid fearing for her future. One of her new clients is news anchor, TV personality and heir to a fortune Maxwell A. Emerson III, Max.

Forbidden and controversial…

Upon walking in on Max and world-renowned chef and restaurateur Wesley Uhler, Wes fucking she sets the most tantalizing cat and mouse game of seduction in motion.

Opportunity and conspiracy…

Jane is turned on by what she saw, Wes simply wants to tap it while Max, against his better judgement, wants in on a ménage. Adding Jane to the equation takes their sex life to another level. And while I was busy cooling my Kindle in the freezer they discovered a front for their ménage.

Kink and addiction…

It simplifies and complicates all at once as they experience the best sex of their lives and soon find themselves hooked. The story follows them in and out of the bedroom as friendships are forged and unlikely romances brew one orgasm at a time.

Complications and confusion…

What started on a whim quickly spirals out of control with villains stirring, pasts haunting and lies compiling. Are they prepared to fight for what they have?

Nine words to describe Jane Chapman: Lonely, smart, nurturing, easy-going, discreet, independent, spirited, fair and honest.

Nine words to describe Maxwell A. Emerson III, Max: Direct, imposing, enigmatic, elusive; intense, moody, in-control; ruthless and unyielding.

Nine words to describe Wesley Uhler, Wes: Commanding, assertive, observant, outspoken, nurturing, easy-going, complex, honest and conflicted.

The Anatomy of Jane, told from multiple POVs is more a MMF ménage than a triangle. The sexual tension and build-up is one of the most intense I have ever read. It offers the very best of character development, sizzling sex, fast-paced and engaging plot; intrigue, angst, romance and setbacks. Story ends perfectly leading right to book 2, The Anatomy of Us for the conclusion of their story.

Effortless storytelling! Captivating heroes and heroine! Well-developed plot! 5+ stars and if book 2 keeps up I might just stick this duet on my 6 star shelf!

“He’s so hard. He wants to fuck you… what do you think? Should I let him?”

I’m going to start this review off with a warning… Once you start The Anatomy of Jane, clear your schedule. Seriously. You won’t be able to put this one down! At the end of every chapter you’ll be wanting more! I love books with a taboo element, but this book was special in so many ways besides being just taboo. Was it steamy? Hell yes. Off the charts. But that’s not all it was. It had an interesting and captivating story, strong and fascinating characters and a lot of heart!

Jane Chapman hasn’t had the easiest life. She doesn’t have a family and she’s had to work hard for everything she has. Right now, she’s working as a maid. She happens to be cleaning for the elusive Maxwell Emerson. While cleaning one day, she learns a secret of Maxwell’s. He has a lover. Chef Wesley Uhler. Wes is, for lack of a better term, Max’s dirty little secret. Max comes from an affluent political family and being gay or bisexual would not be taken well. Jane is sworn to secrecy, but more that that, she’s intrigued by them. Seeing them together, well, it was the most erotic experience of her life.

It comes to light that the men are as equally intrigued by Jane. What starts as sexual attraction between the three turns into so much more.

“description"/

The thing I loved best about this book is that it never felt like one of them was being left out or felt less than then the other. They were three equals. Three equals who were falling for each other. There is no love triangle. There is no cheating. There is just three people who unconventionally and unequivocally fall for one another.
“I’m in love with her and I’m in love with Maxwell. I don’t know if it’s equal. How do you measure if you love someone? If they were both hanging on a cliff, and I could only choose one, I‘d join them on the cliff and hope we go together. I can’t divide myself from them.”

If you love M/M or M/M/F books, I can’t urge you enough to give this one a try! And even if that’s not your thing, I would still recommend it. The story is just that good! The end does have a cliffhanger, but it’s not the kind of cliffy that made me rage, it’s the kind that makes me so freaking excited for the next book! I am dying for this sequel!

If you’re looking for a crazy hot, taboo, fun and feeling story with a feisty and strong heroine and two amazing heroes, this is a must read! 5 stars!

Jane : I loved her strong personality. She knows what she wants and what she needs. She doesn't try to deny her feelings to Max & Wesley. And I totally loved her smartass mouth. :D

Max (Maxwell) : First he tries to deny attraction to Jane but he can't resist to her no more. :)

To be honest this one turned out to be so much better than I had expected. This first installment in the series was intriguing and held my attention from the beginning until the end despite the fact I’m not really a fan of manage stories. Maybe because the plot was so well developed or maybe because I found the three main characters to be endearing and fascinating, but this one really worked for me. This taboo story was well written, steamy a hell and totally unputdownable, so if you are craving an unconventional story, than I totally recommend this one!

“Most of us live our whole lives without having an adventure to call our own. What is any life without the pursuit of a dream?”

Jane Chapman’s like wasn’t exactly easy. She doesn’t have a family and she always had to work hard for everything. Until recently she worked as a bartender, manager and also accountant in her friend’s strip club, but now she works as a maid. Everything changes for Jane when she finds out one of her new clients, Maxwell Emerson, a wealthy, notorious TV anchor has a dirty little secret.

"They were like fire and ice, and I couldn't take the swift temperature changes."

Max’s dirty secret is Wesley Uher, a successful chef who doesn’t mind his lover is still keeping him as a secret after being for four years in a committed relationship. Wes accepted this situation because Max’s affluent political family would have never accepted that their son is bi-sexual. They care for each other and this is all that matters for both of them until Jane comes into their life.

“The moment I saw her, I knew it, just like I knew it when I saw him…they were mine. I wasn’t sure how it would work out but I’d just figure it out.”

Both men are taken aback by Jane’s beauty and personality and Jane is also intrigued by both of them and also by the strong passion between them that is so obvious from the moment she meets them. When Max and Wes propose Jane to be with them is a sexual relationship she reluctantly accepts, but what starts only as something sexual slowly becomes something more for the three of them.

"I’m in love with her and I’m in love with Maxwell. I don’t know if it’s equal. How do you measure if you love someone? If they were both hanging on a cliff, and I could only choose one, I‘d join them on the cliff and hope we go together. I can’t divide myself from them.”

First and foremost I want to say this first installment was off the charts hot, but here’s the thing, the story was more than a simply erotica. The story was interesting, the plot was fast-paced and well developed and all three main characters were complex and enthralling.

Jane was a great heroine and I liked her very much from the very beginning. I loved her portrayal and I admired her strength. She was hardworking, kind, feisty and simply genuine from the beginning. The two heroes were captivating from the moment they were introduced. I liked both of them and I enjoyed the fact both were complex characters.

I also liked the fact that it never felt like one of these three was being left out. I loved the dynamic between the three of them as the story unfolded. They treated each other with care and respect and I enjoyed the honesty between them when it came to their desires. There was more than a sexual relationship between them, there was friendship that slowly became so much more and I enjoyed how gradually everything evolved. The sexual tension was fantastically done and all the sexy scenes between them were sizzling hot, arousing and well written.

“She moaned out something inaudible, and I could feel Max on the other side of her, thrusting deeply into her as well. Neither of us stopped, and she moaned, crying out our names, coming over and over again as we reached our peak.
Yeah, this was heaven.”

description

The story ends with a cliffhanger that really left me wanting more. Can’t wait to read the sequel and find out how the relationship between these three characters will unfold.

If you are looking for an unconventional, steamy, intriguing story, then I definitely recommend this one!

”You can’t like two people equally,”she whispered as I leaned into her. “Watch me.”

description

I think that the author offering me the opportunity to read this story was pretty brave on her part. I have only read five mm stories all of which were part of mf series and I can’t even think of one fully based ménage book that I have even read though I have read scenes in random books. The above being mentioned, I was and am fully invested in all three of the main characters and it’s all due the skill of the writing. I adored and connected to Jane Chapman, Wesley Uher and Maxwell Emerson. All three characters are solidly developed and complex while the author gifts all three POVS throughout the book. The plot is so much more then the love and sexual relationship that these three end up entering into.

Wesley and Maxwell are both very successful men in their own fields and have been in a committed relationship for four years when Jane enters into their lives. Jane has had a rough upbringing and circumstances have her trying her hand at being a maid for the wealthy when her prior job falls apart. One of the men fights his attraction to Jane but slowly he starts to get to know her and is intrigued.

”When you stop lying to yourself when you admit you want her too, that’s when we see how much she might want us.”

The sex scenes are off the charts hot, seriously they are scorching hot and imaging yourself as Jane is impossible not to do while reading about her in this couple’s bed.

description

Both men are strongly attracted to Jane and her vise versa but when offers are placed and denied you see that there is so much more to this trio than just chemistry.

”I’m in love with her and I’m in love with Maxwell. I don’t know if it’s equal. How do you measure if you love someone? If they were both hanging on a cliff, and I could only choose one, I‘d join them on the cliff and hope we go together. I can’t divide myself from them.”

You literally couldn’t pry my Kindle from my hands till I got to the last page which in fact does end in a cliffhanger. I’m eagerly coming up with plots and outcomes for this trio and am excited to chat with friends about this gem of a book!

Amelia LeFay:

The Anatomy of Jane is book one in the WJM series by Amelia LeFay. This book was generously provided to me in exchange for an honest review by NetGalley and by the author.

Wesley Uhler is a famous chef who has won countless awards and is the king of his kitchen. People pay hundreds of dollars to dine in his posh restaurant. He has also been in love with Maxwell Emerson for the last four years. But they keep it secret because that’s what Max needs. But then everything changed the day their maid walked in on them having sex. The day he first laid eyes on Jane Chapman.

“If she likes me, she has to like you because you’re part of me.”

Amelia LeFay The Anatomy of Jane:

Max is a famous news reporter and is currently working on a huge story trying to bring down a corrupt politician. Max’s life revolves around work and Wes. Max was from a very wealthy family. His mother getting ready to make her bid for the presidency public. They would never accept that he is in love with another man. So he keeps it secret. There was no room in his life for anything else, until Jane.

“The moment I saw her, I knew it, just like I knew it when I saw him…they were mine. I wasn’t sure how it would work out but I’d just figure it out.”

More love:

Jane Chapman has struggled her entire life. She was an orphan and grew up in group homes. She works non-stop just to keep from going hungry. She was working as a bartender and manager in her friend’s strip club and after that became a maid. That’s how she first met Wes and Max. Seeing them the way she did was the hottest thing she has ever seen.

Wes and Max both want Jane, they want her in their bed and in their life. For Jane they provide something she has never had, family and security. But the world would never accept their relationship, not to mention Max’s family.

The Anatomy of Jane Amelia LeFay:

I admit it took me until about 30% to really fall in love with this book. Up until then it was good but after that it was great. There was quite a lot of editing issues but since this is an ARC, I’m assuming that will be resolved in the final copy.

Jane is amazing. I loved her from page one. You just can’t help but to love this strong, feisty woman who doesn’t seem to be able to catch a break. She expects nothing from life so the smallest things give her great pleasure. Max and Wes are so different from each other yet somehow are just what each other needs. But when they found Jane, they found that missing something that made them complete. Can this trio really find a way to make this work? Can their love for each other really be enough? Or will family and public expectations pull them apart?

sexy times:

Don’t even get me started on the ending. I did not see that coming at all! To the author I would like to say that is just so not fair! I loved this book. Not just the hot sex although there is plenty of that. But the characters were flawed and amazing and won my heart. So now the wait begins for book two, The Anatomy of Us, due out in a few months. I can’t wait!

“In a world filled with monsters, fakes and liars, Jane was an angel. Max and my angel.”

To be completely honest, I wasn't sure what to expect with I picked this one up - I've not delved into much MM or MMF, at all. But being in the mist of a massive book funk, I decided to take a risk and try something out of my norm. And let me tell you, I am so glad I did. I'm not sure what it was about this story that worked for me, perhaps it was simply a fascination with such a taboo element, but I was hooked to my kindle.

description

Jane Chapman’s life is a mess - unappreciated and underpaid in her current job, she decides to leave behind her bartending gig at a strip club and lands a cleaning job. Her new client, Maxwell Emerson III is a well-known news personality and socialite. Everything seems to be going smoothly, until she witnesses an intimate moment between Max and renowned chef, Wesley Uhler, Jane finds herself captivated by the two.

"They were like fire and ice, and I couldn't take the swift temperature changes."

I was right there with Jane - completely mesmerized. And lucky for Jane, Max and Wes find themselves equally interested in her. I don't want to go into the story too much, but I will say, I loved the characters and while this does have plenty of hot and heavy moments, there was still a story. The Anatomy of Jane has a perfect balance of sex, humor, romance, tension. I loved it. And that ending...I have no idea where this story is going to go, but I'm really looking forward to finding out.

Jane has had a hard life. She was born addicted to drugs and just dumped off. She knows how to take care of herself though and actually has a pretty decent brain in her head. She is working in a club as the manager when she finds out her boss (who she looks to as a brother) has drug her into a mess with some bad guys. So she walks out. She heads to another friend who has a cleaning business and starts cleaning an apartment. She has to sign a privacy disclosure but thinks since it's a swanky apartment that must be normal.
Then she sees the owner in a compromising situation.
Palm Springs commercial photography

And it turns her on.

She realizes that she is cleaning for this guy named Max who is a super rich investigative reporter. And his sorta secret boyfriend a high powered chef named Wes.
Palm Springs commercial photography

There is actually a plot to this one! Whoohoo! Anyways, hot guys are having sex. Jane gets all interested in them. They all want a Jane Sandwich.
Palm Springs commercial photography

In real life I'm too much of a prude to ever consider this situation...BUT I sure as shit liked reading about it when it was written well.
Palm Springs commercial photography

YES!! I am!

This is usually more my picture of the threesome stuff. (I live a sheltered life)
Palm Springs commercial photography

So if you are in the mood for some sexy time reading, pick this one up. It's pretty stinking hawt except for that big old cliffy you get at the end. I ain't even worried though because I'm gonna read the next book in this series.

"I wasn't a good girl.
I wasn't a bad girl.
I was their girl."

➦This is a first book in the WJM series by Amelia LeFay about an unconventional relationship between three people. The story is told from three POVs so the reader gets an insight into all three characters.
Max and Wesley have been in a secret relationship for four years. Max comes from a very wealthy background and is a famous news anchor. Wesley is one of the best chefs in the country and owns multiple restaurants. They both are instantly infatuated by Jane, who works for the maid service and cleans their penthouse. They begin their relationship despite all the doubts and soon realize what complications they must face in order to stay together.

I liked Jane's character a lot. She is poor and works hard to survive. Even though she has been dealt a tough hand in life, she still has a strong sense of self-value and self-respect.

"All I have is me, so I treasure myself more than anyone or anything in the world... ...And if I don't like myself, I will have nothing. Nothing is painful."

♥I think female readers (especially those who enjoy M/M genre) would find it easy to relate to Jane's character. I wanted to be Jane by the end of the book! She had a front row seat to some pretty steamy situations!

The sex scenes in this book were searing! Having said that, I have to admit they were a bit lacking for me. They felt a bit vague, rushed and didn't have thorough descriptions. Keeping in mind that this is an erotic novel, I was expecting more defined visuals.

➦There were some issues with editing but I have been contacted by the publisher and told that the book has went through a final edit and hopefully by the time it gets released the readers will be enjoying the typo-free version.

I think this book will appeal to those who enjoy M/M and erotic taboo novels. I would even go as far as recommending it to anyone who hasn't tried anything from M/M genre but enjoys erotic romance. The readers should keep in mind that this is only a beginning of the journey for these three characters and the book ends with a cliffhanger.

“You silly, silly girl...You think you can walk into the lions’ den and make us your pets?”

“Complicated love stories are the best kind,” but for me The Anatomy of Jane was not complicated at all. The beauty of their story is that there is not one without the other; Max, Wes and Jane go hand in hand. I fell in love with them based on how they loved each other.

Three Hearts and One Epic Love story...
"How do you measure if you love someone? If they were both hanging off a cliff, and I could only choose one, I’d join them on the cliff and hope we could go together. I can’t divide myself from them.”

Maxwell 'Mr. Assholery' Emerson and Wesley 'Mr. Cockiness' Uhler has turned Jane Chapman's life up side down, with their raw sensuality and their wild passion. Welcoming her into their bed with open arms, hard and ready cocks and the means to fulfill every fantasy she's ever had. Even introducing her to a new reality where nothing exists but them, all in the safety of their walls. But what is love without complication, hurt and pain... no matter how much you try and shield those you love; jealousy, judgment and hate always try to find a way in and break the bond you so carefully built.

The Anatomy of Jane is a story I loved, never really sure what to expect but something about the way the story unfolded left no room for argument, at least for me, that Jan, Max and Wes are made for each other. The dynamics between them were carefully balanced and beautifully portrayed. It was so much more than lust and passion that graced the pages, upping the heat factor each and every time they came together.

The forbiddeness, the anticipation, the growth all added layers of enjoyment, making me want... This had HEAT, passion, lust, love, banter & wit, and moments where you wanted to reach out and just hug them and offer them your strength. This isn't a standalone read and the ending will leave you feeling everything and anything. Recommended for those who can accept that love is love regardless of the form.

After reading some great reviews for this then seeing it free on Amazon (still was @ date of review) I jumped right in. I was very surprised by what I got, what I got was a real story with bones and not the light manage porn I thought it would be.

Jane has quit her job at the Bunny Rabbit a strip club where she was a bartender/servant to the strippers or as she put it I was like a dirty Mary Poppins. The club is owned by Allen who she grew up in a group home with. So now she is broke and finds herself the new maid of a very handsome pair of men.

Because of Maxwells career he has to keep his personal life and relationship with Wes a secret. His mother is very high up in politics and has been demanding he marry and settle down. Max has had a privileged upbringing and is a little spoilt because of it, he has everything from a voice activated front door to a 1962 midnight blue Ferrari.

 photo 1962ferrari_zpsmijhfatt.jpg

Wes is living his dream, he is one of the top ten chefs in America and he has a hot as sin boyfriend. But when he sees the new maid he is immediately taken with her.

“Fine love, I’m a fucking badass in the kitchen, and if you ate at my restaurant, Ms. Chapman, you’d orgasm with every damn bite.”

 photo wes_zpsmqpkkwez.jpg

Now I have read some HOT books but this one was HOT!!! Being the filling in that sandwich would not be a bad thing at all ;). Wes has a kinky side and all three dabble together in some BDSM play with Wes being the Dom.

 photo three_zpsgolwlrsx.jpg

As I mentioned before there was a lot more to this story. There was drama, violence, love, friendship and acceptance. As we get to know all three characters and their back stories I realised this was as much about three people finding themselves as it was about finding each other.

So yes I loved this book but I have to mention that there was some bad editing mistakes eg:

“Why did do you want to wear it?”

For me it was not a problem as I just loved the story!!

OMG, That ending!!! Cliffy Warning!!!

***** 5 Panty Melting Stars*****

This was the perfect book for me. It was funny, had a good story, some drama and great sexy scenes.

“I wasn't a good girl. I wasn't a bad girl. I was their girl.”

I have read menage books before but they were all M/F/M, so this was my first M/M/F book. And ladies I am happy to say my first experience was a good one. Who knew m/m could be so hot!

I'm not gonna lie, I had pictured myself taking Jane's place...

Sometimes you read a book and you say: Wow that was hot!
And sometimes you read a book and say:
Honey I need you to come home it's an emergency or I hope my vabriotor has batteries, I'm gonna need it!
Well TAOJ is that kind of book.

Hey I'm just trying to prepare you ;)
“I wasn't a good girl. I wasn't a bad girl. I was their girl.”

The Anatomy of Jane wasn't just good sex scenes it had also a great story of 3 people trying to love each other in a society that does not always accept everyone's choice.
I loved all three characters and I am glad we got their POV.
Maxwell was hot- bloodied, serious and intense while Wesley was more free- spirited and wild. Oh and let's not forget kinky. Yeah Baby
They were two alphas that were opposites in everything but somehow they made it work.
My favorite was Jane, she was kind, strong , feisty and very protective of the ones she loved!
I though each one brought something different in the relationship and it's because of that, it worked.
 photo 76469ad9-2b4c-430a-97dd-7f7dcc197d53_zpsxbd3auhs.jpg

Now for that ending

I knew it would end in a cliffy but come on. I did not think would go like that!
Miss LeFay,the next book should be on my Kindle like right now!

So the question is, will I recommend this book... HELL YEAH I recommend this book!

PS: If you received an ARC, you probably noticed they are a few errors in the book. Not to worry it still being edited, so it will be nice and error free when released :)

“I wasn’t a good girl
I wasn’t a bad girl.
I was their girl.”

Well, the level of hotness was off the charts.

Anatomy of Jane is the first time JJ McAvoy writes under the pen-name Amelia LeFay to separate genres. It is the first part in a MMF contemporary romance duet. It’s not a triangle, but a menage. She brings the usual effortless storytelling and paired it with some seriously scorching characters. A fast moving, thought out and very sexy read.

Max and Wesley have been in a relationship for four years. For various reasons they have to keep their relationship status and the fact that especially Max is gay under wraps. One day their new maid Jane catches them going at it in the foyer. There is a lot of instant attraction going on, and it becomes clear pretty fast that both Max and Wes are bi. There are a lot of issues to overcome; family, public opinion and some past drama.

Really a fun and quick read. I would recommend it to all the McAvoy fans out there and for those who haven’t read her books yet, this might be a fast way to see if she suits you.

Now I’m just desperately waiting for the second and final part in the series. There was a bit of a cliffhanger. Just FYI.

The Anatomy of Jane wouldn’t have even popped up on my radar if it weren’t for a comment by Kathleen on another friend’s status (about something totally unrelated, of course). When I saw this plot was regarding the ol’ ménage à trois my reaction was a little like this . . .

Palm Springs commercial photography

Now that I'm finished????

Palm Springs commercial photography

Our female lead Jane has worked as a bartender/bookkeeper/seamstress/ for a local stripjoint. While Jane has tried to keep things on the up-and-up, unfortunately her loser boss has not been doing the same. Jane finds herself in need of an income and becomes a maid to the rich and famous. Enter Maxwell and Wes. Maxwell is an anchor of the Fox News variety. Wes is a Michelin starred chef. The two are in a closeted relationship (due to Maxwell), but due to a confidentiality agreement are not scurrred to make with the bangbang while Jane is doing her duty. When Jane catches them in the act, a confession ends up coming about . . .

“You and I have always been honest with each other about everything.”

“And . . .”

“And I want her. I want her in bed with us, and I know you want her, too.”

Which leads us to discovering just how many licks it takes to get to the center Wes and Maxwell’s tootsie pops . . .

And some other stuff that made me go . . .

Palm Springs commercial photography

I was expecting a whole lotta bang bang into my room I wanna go bang bang all over you, so imagine my surprise when this actually had a plot too. Stuff like family secrets and owing money to the wrong people and yada yada, but you’ll have to read the book to find out all the details for yourself.

I wasn’t expecting to enjoy this as much as I did. The sexystuffs were freakin’ sexy and while a polyamorous relationship generally is not my bag, I separated myself from reality and put myself in the fantasy enough that this one worked just fine. The only thing that really didn’t work????

Palm Springs commercial photography

Now I realize this was clearly marked as #1 in a series so I knew a cliffy was possible, but good Christ can a new tired trope get invented because the one used here is soooooooo overused and makes me want to get stabby.

Oh, and because I just know it’s coming from some freaking millennial who “doesn’t like labels” or wants to cry about some other offensive blahblahblah with respect to the terms I’ve used to describe this imaginary relationship while sitting their unemployed dumpers on their parents’ couch . . .

Kiss off, you bloody donkey.

~5 Smoldering Sinful Stars~
"This could end horribly, horribly wrong, but until then...I'm going to have the best goddamn sex of my life. God have mercy."
description

The Anatomy of Jane is a beautiful romance story full of raw passion, tenderness, and love. But can love truly be divided equally by three?
description
"All I have is me, so I treasure myself more than anyone or anything in the world."
Jane is a survivor. Jane is fierce and has learned to overcome all of the adversities in her life. While working as a maid in a trendy Boston Penthouse, she stumbles upon a hot makeout session between two alluring men. Instead of running, Jane is mesmerized.
"They were like fire and ice, and I couldn't take the swift temperature changes."
description
"Feeding an addiction...living with codependency..stalking...love."
Max Emerson is a respected news reporter from a prominent Boston family. Max is wealthy, powerful, sexy, and living the dream. However, he is living with a secret. The reason he hasn't found a Mrs. Emerson yet is because he is in love with a Mr. named Wes.
"You are Wesley Uhler. Don't bend over for anyone but me."
Wes, a successful local chef, has no problem being Max's little secret. Until Jane. Jane is a catalyst for Max and Wes. When these three come together, everything changes.
"Wes slid down kissing my chest and lifting my leg slightly before thrusting so deep into my pussy that I had to hold on to his shoulder. He spreads open my ass cheeks for Max."
description
"Be who you really are."
Max, Jane, and Wes make each other complete. The three experience sexual bliss and sustaining love like they have never experienced before. If only they could stay insulated in their happy bubble forever. When it feels so right, what could go wrong?
"She tasted sweet to his spicy. Every corner of her mouth was mine."
description
"Seize the day. You only live once."
The Anatomy of Jane is told in the POVs of the main characters Max, Jane, and Wes. All three contribute equally to the dynamics in this read. Each character is complex and extremely likable. The steam factor in this read is off the charts hot, and I found myself re-reading those scenes several times over. The commitment between these three is indestructible, and when the supporting characters try to separate them, you just want to jump into the pages and tear them apart. The emotions evoked in this read balance delicately between bliss and utter fear. Bliss to be able to bask in the beautiful commitment and friendship these individuals share. Fear that these three will break apart, and one person will be left in the cold. This is quite an unconventional love story, and I enjoyed every minute of it. The ending has quite a cliffy so be prepared to hang on for dear life. But believe me, when I say, this is well worth the read!
description
Overall, The Anatomy of Jane is a must read! This was my very first M/M/F read, and I can say with complete sincerity, I will never be the same. Breaking down the barriers of "norms" truly opened my eyes to a more complex love. The writing flows quite fluidly as the perspective shifts between the three main characters (which kept me closely connected to all three). I simply cannot wait for the next book in this series to be released. I want more!!!!! The Anatomy of Jane is made up of Jane, Max, and Wes. And together love is a beautiful thing!

Before I even start my actual review, let me just say Holy. Shit. That ending just about killed me and I don't know if I have the ability to wait until the next book before going insane.

Maxwell Emerson and Wesley Uhler have been secret lovers for four years. Secret because Max is in the spotlight since he comes from a family deep in the heart of the political world, and being gay/bisexual is practically unheard of. For Wes, it's not always the easiest thing to hide that you're in love, but he cares deeply for Max and will do anything for him.

But then Jane Chapman enters their world and finds out their little secret. They both take a liking to her right away, and she them. Max and Wes already have a relationship going, but why not bring another person in? Jane's definitely intrigued by the duo and what seeing them together does to her. She takes their dirty secret and makes it even dirtier.

The Anatomy of Jane is the first book written by J.J McAvoy under the pen name Amelia LeFay. And sadly also the first book I've read by her, which is something I plan to make up for very soon. Within this book I fell in love with her writing and the way she was able to keep me right on the edge of my seat the whole time. Not even just because of the cliffhanger at the ending, but the little hints of what was to come that were in each chapter. Once I started I didn't ever want to put the book down.

I've read menage books in the past, and actually read one right before starting this, but they aren't something I read too often. I feel like any author that wants to write one has to be able to keep the balance between characters to make sure one or two don't take the focus away from all three of them as a whole. Well this author certainly has that ability. Max, Wes, and Jane were all very well developed characters and I never felt like I was missing out on one of them. It actually surprised me how much of each of them we got to learn in just the span of this book.

Bottom line, this author might want to watch out because she has a new fangirl stalker. I'm already going crazy waiting for the conclusion to the story so I'm not sure how I'm going to wait until the end of the year.

I am a sucker for fairytales. I confess...
And this book is the absolute fairytale times two.
There are:
-a land far far away, Boston
-this poor girl, Jane, innocent at heart (but tigress in bed as she proves)
-not just one, but two princes, Max and Wesley, who are in love and who will eventually fall in love with Jane
-the evil queen who wants to sabotage Max and Wesley's true love (that's Max's mother!)
-the fairy godmother who will buy Jane a stunning dress and stunning shoes and she will take her to the ball to impress the princes (that's Max's cousin, Irene)
-The official ball where Jane will kiss both Max and Wesley - not at the same time, but with similar out of this world results

Well, I loved the story. I loved everything about it. When Max met Wesley 4 years ago... Kaboom, the earth suttered. Wesley was a chef in France and he basically followed Max in Boston and opened a restaurant there. He is a famous chef while Max has an important career in TV. Both are famous, both are rich and they are in love.
Jane is nobody. She works at a striptease club, not as a dancer but as a bar woman, an accountant, a seamstress, a factotum. She is boss' best friend, but she will be desperately jobless when he fucks her up. She will find a job as a cleaning lady and she will end up cleaning Max and Wesley's castle, their penthouse at 2829 W Rowling street.
There will be attraction, there will be the ball and before the night of the ball finishes, there will be a marriage proposal. How crazy is that?
A few gangsters later, the three of them will find their way to bed. They will live another big bang that will shake their worlds and change their lives as they know them forever.

What I loved in this book:
1. Both of the males are true alpha, arrogant, cocky, impossible to live with males. Usually in mmf stories one of the guys is more sensitive, smoother, playful compared to the other guy and the two guys are complimentary to each other. In this book, you take an over the top Alpha male times two (or better two to the power of two). They are not complimentary to each other. On the contrary, one is the exact mirror image of the other. The testosterone runs high every time these two are in bed.
2. The funny bits: like when Jane decided to clean the penthouse at 12.47 am Saturday night because it was Saturday already and this was a cleaning day. Or when Jane met the mothers of Wesley (yes the MOTHERS)

There is a cliffhanger in the book, but a good one. One that creates warm feelings, faith and hope that everything will work out in the next book.
Well, this is a complicated story, but life is complicated anyway. Nothing is black and white.

I always want the HEA. I'm anxious to see how if any, we will get in the the next book. After this ending I have no clue what to expect. My heart already hurts.

But let me say this to those of you that have not read this story, the passion, the steam, yeah it's fricken hot❤️❤️❤️

4.25 STARS

Jane Chapman's an orphan who grew up in the foster care system. Taking care of herself is second nature and alone is the only thing she knows. Then there's two sexy alpha males, Maxwell Emerson and Wesley Uhler. Max and Wes are together but not openly out as a couple. Max comes from a wealthy and prominent family with highly political aspirations. Max's best known as a TV anchorman and being gay or bisexual is the last thing his family wants. Wes, on the other hand, is a world-renowned chef who knows what he wants and isn't afraid to take it. He owns who he is and who he loves.

When Jane comes face-to-face with Max and Wes in the throes of passion, she's hooked.

"It was like I was mesmerized by it… two grown men in love… two men fucking.”

And the attraction is mutual.

Their story is sexy, hot and complicated. I loved each of these characters. Jane for her strength but also her free spirit. Max for his commanding presence and his internal struggle with how he feels and what he wants. And finally, Wes for just being the sexiest, demanding and yet sweet man. What I really enjoyed about this triad was how they fit together. All three of them, balanced and complimented each others' strengths and shortfalls.

 photo WJM_zpsd8fhisdw.jpg

The only thing that prevented me from rating this 5 stars, and it could've easily been that for me, was the ending. I'm usually lenient on this trope but in this instance, I was disappointed. It felt a bit cliche and also potentially sets up misunderstandings and heartache down the road. I'll admit, I might be jumping the gun but I'll just have to wait and see!

I definitely recommend this for fans of MM, MWM, anything taboo or that doesn't quite fight society's conventional norms. You should read this! This was a first for Amelia LeFay (JJ McAvoy's pen name) and I'll definitely be reading more. I look forward to book 2.

“Complicated love stories are the best kind.”

When I first started to read “The Anatomy of Jane,” I didn’t know what to expect. It was actually the first ménage book I have read and I really enjoyed it, loved it in fact. Once I started reading it I couldn’t put it down. I only stopped to try and get some sleep and go to work.
I wasn’t sure how this story would work, but it really did as it was such a compelling story filled with complex characters. To be honest, I didn’t really expect much of a storyline, but I was thankfully proven wrong. Amelia LeFay captures the right amount of sex without comprising this beautiful story.

“The moment I saw her, I knew it, just like I knew it when I saw him…they were mine. I wasn’t sure how it would work out but I’d figure it out…”

Jane is a complex and compelling character. She has not had the easiest of lives and has always worked hard in order to survive. She starts working as a maid in a beautiful penthouse in Boston and that’s where she stumbles upon Wes and Max; that’s when none of their lives will ever be the same again. I was a big fan of Jane. I thought she was such an interesting character with a beautiful soul and that really shone through with the writing.

description

“I’m in love with her and I’m in love with Maxwell. I don’t know if it’s equal. How do you measure if you love someone? If they were both hanging off of a cliff and I could only choose one, I’d join them on the cliff and hope we could go together. I can’t divide myself from them.”

Max and Wes have been in a relationship for the past four years. They are completely different personalities, but they work and they are so perfect for each other. Max is a news anchor from a wealthy and influential family and therefore he hasn’t been able to come out to his family and has to hide his relationship with Wes from them. Wes is one of Boston’s most well-known chefs, who is originally from England and has two Mothers. It was so easy for me to connect with these characters, because Amelia LeFay described them so beautifully that I felt I knew them.

description

“You and him are both alpha males and usually that never works because… well because one ends up destroying the other. But in very rare situations, some alphas actually enjoy the fight. Someone to push them back, challenge them. You’re turned on by his assholery and he’s turned on by your cockiness…no pun intended.”

Some of the scenes in this story were filled with so much steam and were full of passion and intensity. The three main characters were truly in love with each other and although they were very different, they shared common ground, being each other. I could not recommend this story highly enough for anyone who is looking to read something poignant, with great character development and full of passion. The story does however end in a cliff-hanger and I cannot wait to read the second instalment “The Anatomy of Us.”

**5 SUPER HOT STARS**

"They were like fire and ice, and I couldn't take the swift temperature changes."

Jane is a woman who has been involved in a messy situation and she quits her job as an aftermath. Now she's a maid and she is hired to clean a penthouse, but for a month she hasn't fell across her boss. Until one day she does and it changes everything.

Wesley and Max have a secret long term relationship and even though they are happily taken with each other, when they meet Jane, their interest for her makes them take decisions and things could get complicated.

Is it possible to feel jealous of a fictional character? If so, it's official. I haven't felt the need to be in a heroine's shoes for a very long time and it was about time it finally happened! Oh boy, what I wouldn't give to be Jane!! And not just for the guys and the insane sexfest they had, but because of her character as well. I totally loved her spirit and her personality and I just think it was the type of heroine I love to read about. Strong, feisty, independent and mature.

“I wasn't a good girl. I wasn't a bad girl. I was their girl.”

Loved this book so much!! It was seriously the hottest read of 2016 and one of the hottest books I've ever read! The tension, the chemistry, the sizzling hot scenes that had me drooling and the plot that was also quite interesting. I loved how there were so many aspects in this story and you didn't know what would happen next, the possibilities were endless. I also liked the secondary characters, the twists and turns and that freaking cliffie. I mean how are we supposed to wait so long for the next part after that ending??

A sexy, fun but also intense read that I can't recommend enough, especially if you enjoy MMF stories! I can't wait to read the continuation of The Anatomy of Jane! Winter can't come fast enough!

If you like ménage this book could definitely be for you. Two sexy, leading men, along with a sweet heroine, ready and willing to take them on, a little angst, strong love and heartache and you have the making of a good, entertaining, steamy book.

Max and Wesley are in a secret, long-term relationship. They share the same household and they are deeply in love with each other. They are both successful and at the top of their profession. Max comes from a prominent, wealthy political family, and Wes is a famous master chef. Jane is a hard-working, beautiful woman with no family who invests in herself and expects nothing from no one. Now she’s working as a maid in their home and she’s bound by a duty of confidentiality by contract. When she catches Wes and Max having sex, it’s the hottest thing she’s ever seen. Wes and Max are both intrigued by Jane and are fascinated by her beauty and sexiness. They enjoy and care for each other but as soon as they see Jane they feel they need to include a woman. Well…three can play the game and Jane agrees to a game of sex, passion and kink with the two men.

I loved the storyline and all the characters. All sex scenes are hot and I really loved the authenticity of the feelings of love and deep affection that arise among the three. Wes, Max and Jane are perfect together and the support they show each other is very endearing. Jane explores herself in a wider sense of love with Wes and Max. She begins to realize feelings far stronger than lust. She knows deep down in her how wrong it was. She understands the consequences of this, but she can't deny the fact that she enjoys it.

 photo 8772434_zpsx4in6zrx.gif

The writing is good and the steam factor is high. The story is super hot with explicit, kinky scenes (there is some light BDSM) of desire and passion that do not leave much to the imagination. It’s gonna take you out of your comfort zone, and make you squirm. Overall, an enjoyable book and I'll be reading the next one as well.

Hot MMF romance and great story

Very passionate romance between two men in love and a woman that is added to the relationship when both men develop feelings for her and vice versa. Maxwell Emerson is a wealthy TV newscaster and the son of a Senator soon to be running for President.

Max’s is in love with Wesley, a brilliant master chef with a number of Michelin star rated restaurants. Jane, is an orphan who grew up in foster care, worked as a bartender at a strip club till the owner put her on the club as half owner and borrowed from the Mob and now she owes them $210,000. So she is hiding out and working as a maid in Maxwells penthouse twice a week during the day.

The first time she sees them after about a month, she is cleaning and they come into the penthouse basically tearing off each other’s clothes, kissing and touching each other and she is standing there not making a sound. The scene is so awesomely steamy hot.

The rest of the book is fantastic too. Well thought out plot. Nice story and of course great scenes between the three of them.

4.5 "Impossible relationships" stars

“It's really complicated.“

Jane Chapman.
Maxwell Emerson.
Wesley Uhler.

Three people joined in an unconventional, passionate relationship where the odds, society rules and people's judmental eyes and words threaten to end the purest of emotions before they even acknowledge it themselves.

How do you measure if you love someone?

Max and Wes.
From the start:

It was lust. Raw, plain old lust, the moment our eyes locked.

The hidden 4 year relationships became more when their eyes filled with the same desire locked with hers.

Jane.

A hardworking young woman. Well familiar to hardship, poverty, loneliness…the only person to look up to is herself.
„All I have is me, so I treasure myself more than anyone or anything in the world. So when you try to buy me as if I'm nothing but item and not the person and if I let you…then I won't like myself. And if I don't like myself, I will have nothing. Nothing is painful.“

Her path suddenly interlinks with theirs. Two gorgeous, powerful, rich men who want to share the unique desire with her. She's reluctant and wants to stay safely away but the only life – her life is the one she thrives to upgrade – she wants to belong. Needs to belong. It's a dream she's pursuing…
Most of us live our whole lives without having an adventure to call our own. What is any life without the pursuit of a dream?

Any opportunity you have to get ahead, you should take. If you don't, you're either scared or an idiot.

But not every situation is the one that can stand the test of time, the test of judgement, the test of danger of getting hurt, destroyed, shattered…by letting it happen, giving in OR fighting against the windmills of uptight society and its conventional rules…

Yes, it's fucking complicated! When the denied feelings get in the way!

Are they strong enough to fight for what they have recognized between them and to obtain what they started OR will they fall into the rut and give in the rules of conventions?

Drama. Romance. Passion. Emotions. Struggles.

So many questions in need of answers are intertwined in this story that will captivate you, not only with the extremely scorching hot passion between consentual adults but also with a twist of suspense and drama in an effortlessly written „complicated“ love story.

It was insanely good. Bright and bold. It's not just erotic, crazy ride, but also emotional, suspenseful and fast-action gameplay. With this trio you can not be bored, and for sure it's extremely hot and very passionate.

For me it is the love triangle story, but it is one in which three people are together in one love relationship. You may be surprised how such a non-traditional relationship, despite the obvious problems with acceptance and judgment of the other people, works well and gives a feeling of partnerships and security. It's exciting to see how each of them at their own pace grows and how their relationship develops. This creates captivating taboo romance that you do not want to put down, and want to read more and more.

The most important thing, very well-built characters and their interactions. I feel that I got to know them very well separately and as well as together. The author managed to create a perfect balance. Their shared relations are genuine and well developed. Feelings that doesn't naturally divided into three people, here played together great. At least when the outside world didn't interfere. I feel love, I feel lust, jealousy, and true affection.

And I really like all of the characters. Each of them is different, and together they form an explosive mixture of emotions with brilliant chemistry. Although for special attention deserves the great heroine, Jane. She adds a lot of humor to the story. She is confident, feisty and a little crazy. As a result, the story is funny and entertaining. Just small dose of lightness, which makes the reading even better.

What is cool it's that they are primarily friends, and from that they become lovers. Of course, sexual scenes are bold and remarkable. On the edge, but written with taste and sensitivity. However, certainly it's not just erotica. It's multi-layered a very complex story, although mainly revolves around their relations, each has their own personal business and problems. And you can enter a whole new level of the story.

I really should not be surprised. This is not my first book with three persons in one relationship, and these stories are always intriguing and absorbing. I just like this kind of tension and desire. For sensitive is worth to note that the story will continue in the second part. We have a big cliffhanger and my head evaporates from thinking what might happen next. I already have several scenarios and I can not wait. If you are wondering whether to read it now, I honestly recommend. Even if the menage stories are not your favorite, there is something more, and above all, it's just a great, emotional love story, which you'll want to continue.

Oh my! I loved this book! I saw tons of people talking about this book and when I read the blurb I knew I had to read it. Luckily, I was approved for an ARC from NetGalley and read it right away. This is not my first time to read a ménage story, thanks to Nicole Edwards, so if you are a fan of hers then you will love Amelia LeFay's book.
"Complicated love stories are the best kind."

Jane Chapmen grew up in the foster system, so she has no family. She used to work at a strip club managing, bartending, helping the girls, basically everything except stripping. When the owner of the club gets in trouble and looses all of the clubs money she quits and takes a job as a maid thanks to a friend. She's going about her business cleaning one apartment, earbuds in bopping along to her music, until she turns around and gets an eyeful of two gorgeous guys making out. Her mouth literally falls open. It's so hot that she moans, making them aware of her presence and ending the show.

These aren't just any guys though. Maxwell Emerson and Wesley Uhler have been in a relationship for four years now. Max is the serious one in the relationship. He's a reporter working on a big story. His mother is also about to announce her bid for presidency. His family doesn't know he's in love with a man. This would not go over well with them because they are only concerned with their image and being gay or bisexual would be frowned upon.

"The moment I saw her, I knew it, just like I knew it when I saw him...they were mine."

Wes is a famous chef originally from England. Wes is the funnier one of the relationship. Right away, Wes knew that he was attracted to Jane and wanted her in their bed. Max was against it. He vehemently denied his attraction to her at first. After spending some time with Jane and get to know her he finds that he can't stop thinking about her. I loved her spunk though. Max tried to intimidate her several times, but she never let him and wasn't afraid of letting him know.

Max and Wes both let her know in their own ways that they want her. After some thinking about it, she's just as attracted to them and she feels safe with them, so she decides to give it a go. Unfortunately society likes to judge other people and these three together, in an open relationship are no different.

"If they were both hanging off a cliff, and I could only choose one, I’d join them on the cliff and hope we could go together. I can’t divide myself from them."

I loved the commitment that these three have for one another. Wes's parents and Max's cousin, Irene were awesome secondary characters. Also, this story was told from all three POVs which is another strike in the good column for me. With this many characters it's awesome to get their side of the story.

This does end with a major cliffhanger. I feel like I should've seen that coming, but I didn't. My only complaint is that in this copy there were several editing errors that were a little distracting, but looking past those it was a really beautiful story. I'm hopeful that all of the errors will be fixed before the final book is published.

Now, waiting for The Anatomy of Us to be released in December is going to feel like forever, but it will be a great Christmas present. If you don't mind M/M/F stories then give this one a shot. I highly recommend!

Story Rating ~ 5 Stars
Hero Rating ~ Max, 5 Stars
Hero Rating ~ Wes, 5 Stars
Heroine Rating ~ Jane, 5 HUGE STARS!!
Heat Rating ~ 5! These 3 were SCORCHING!
Ending ~ To be continued.
Overall Rating ~ 5, Totally Hooked me in STARS!

The Anatomy of Jane is a polyamorous romance with wonderful complex characters. It did not take very long for me to get hooked into the story line and once I was, it was extremely hard for me to put this book down.

Jane Chapman was a lost soul. She was abandoned as baby, left in a crack house. All her life she worked hard to pull herself out of her lonely existence. What I loved about Jane was that she was always true to herself. She was smart, funny, truthful, and stubborn. She could get herself out of a sticky situation with just some thread and a needle. She WAS my favorite character of this read.

When Jane quits her job working in a strip club as a bartender/ manager/booker, she needs a job fast. She calls on a friend who runs a cleaning company and begs for a job. She ends up being the new maid in the penthouse of Maxwell Emerson.

Maxwell Emerson and Wesley Uhler have been lovers for four years. They try hard to keep their relationship a secret because of Max’s family and his job. They have a new maid, her name is Jane and she does an excellent job.

One day while cleaning the penthouse, Jane accidentally comes upon Max and Wes going at it. She can hardly look away, it was so animalistic and lovely at the same time. Of course the men notice her watching so they just smile and close the door.

Wes is very much attracted to Jane and tells Max that he wants Jane to join them. Max at first denies his attraction to Jane but once he finds out that Jane is in trouble, he quickly changes his mind.

There are quite a few things that I LOVED about this romance. I LOVED that I was emotionally drawn into this book, I laughed, I cried, I smiled and I sighed, I REALLY felt them! I also LOVED that Max and Wes were totally in love with each other. I LOVED how much they cared about and took care of Jane and I LOVED how easily Jane fit in and accepted theses man just the way they were.

The sex/love scenes were SO DAM HOT! Once the three of them got together, they were completely exhausted before they finished. It’s not often I rate a book 5 stars in my heat level and let me tell you, they dissevered every star.

There were many secondary characters added in. Some I LOVED and some I wanted to smack the shit out of. For me when an author can make me feel this way it tells me just what a fantastic author she is.

In the end we are left wondering just how these three are going to work through some major issues. This is not the end of these three and I'm eagerly awaiting on book 2, The Anatomy of Us, THIS IS A MUST READ FOR ME!!

I highly recommend this book to those who enjoy reading M/M/W romances. This is one of the BEST ones that I have read to date.

The Anatomy of Jane (TAoJ) is the first of two books in the WJM Duet Series, so be prepared for a tiny cliffy ending that will leave you desperate for book two, but not wanting to throttle the author.

I am huge fan of m/m romance and absolutely love m/f/m romances (when done right). TAoJ is done right!

Max and Wesley have the perfect life as a couple behind closed doors but in the public eye, both of these hugely successful men are hiding their love affair. When Jane, a down on her luck sort of girl, lands a job as the maid for Max she was surprised by a heated kiss that turned our little miss clean to a voyeur in an instant.

The attraction Wesley feels towards Jane is instant, although both men don’t have labels for their relationship, neither have strayed. It isn’t until Jane is at risk that these two men decide to invite her into their lives, their home and eventually their bed.

With Max’s high profile family having a bride to be would put all his parent’s fussing to rest, he knows they will never except that their son is in love with another man, but maybe Jane can be the answer to all of their problems....

I anticipated a very heated read and it was, but it was also so much more. I loved the emotional connection of all three of these characters, both as pairs and as a trio. I adored Jane and her all-in personality. I am torn over how I want this to end when we get book two, because I really loved these characters as a whole, but also on such an individual level that I am not yet sure if the best thing for all is the same as the best thing for each.

A erotic and emotional poly-amorous love story that will have you blushing.
