Book 3.5 in the rockstar series, Lost in Oblivion.

Is it better to burn out or fade away…

Oblivion lead singer Simon Kagan is used to being in the spotlight for his model good looks and his voice, not because of the epic ending to Oblivion’s last show on their home turf in California. That unforgettable night rocked Oblivion in more ways than one, and now the journey back seems almost impossible.

The only bright spot is Margo. Margo, the one woman he’d been sure would never be more than a hot ride in the dark. Margo, who would never be his.

Except she is…for now. But taking one dream and trading it for another isn’t supposed to hurt this much.

As long as Margo never realizes the man she fell for no longer exists, maybe he won’t lose everything that matters due to just one all-consuming night.

**This book resolves the cliffhanger at the end of Destroyed.**

May contain some spoilers
Consumed is the #3.5 novella in Cari Quinn/Taryn Elliott’s LOST IN OBLIVION Series and it continues Simon Kagan and Margo Reece’s story. It picks up just after the events at the end in Destroyed, where Simon had collapse on stage during a concert. This book focuses totally on Simon and Margo and how they go forward in their relationship.

Simon is suddenly faced with having to deal with changes in his life and in his career. To consider what his vocal injury will affect his future, his music and his friends in the band.

Margo organizes a break to stay at her family home on a small island in the Caribbean. He will have a chance to relax and work on getting better. It will also give them some time to be together and alone…..

Margo and Simon are a great couple together and seeing them fall deeper and deeper in love was pretty cool to watch.
And then there’s that sexual chemistry………….seductive, erotic, passionate, intense, ardent, adoring, loving……….The strong surge of romantic and sexual emotions overwhelm them.

Their numerous…I mean a lot…of sex scenes…. On the beach, on the beach, in the sea, on the floor….Sex…and more sex…
 photo large_zpsuvr37qqw.gif
And you would have ever believed button-down Violin Girl, Margo could be so adventurous!!!! So eager!!
 photo 625e13d0-2f17-0133-5b33-0aecee5a8273_zpski85e2q7.gif
At one point I began wondering if all there was to these two was sex and nothing else!! And happily to say…yes…there is more than just sex…it’s just that Simon and Margo like having sex with each other….hell, the sexual compatibility is beyond amazing…adventurous, seductive and totally sexy and sizzle.

Spending time alone with each other creates a closeness and connectedness, builds an intimacy between them.
 photo download_zpsyk2tmugs.jpg
Spending time with Margo, Simon feels a deep need to share everything in his life with Margo. He wants her safe, he wants to protect her and he wants her to know how much he loves her.
 photo tumblr_nmzpnqNWmZ1urw6j1o1_500_zpsyf2cty0a.gif
"He sealed their lips and breathed her in. Honeysuckle and ocean and cocoa butter. And his. Undeniably his. He wanted to take all of it back with him, protect it like the Hope-fucking-diamond. Protect it like he hadn’t protected his voice. Cherish it like he’d never cherished anything before."
The electricity and chemistry are constantly zapping and bubbling around them. It was fun, entertaining, and sweet and Simon had some pretty cute things to say…..

“Say my name.”
His lips twitched. “Which one?”
She smiled. “Your favorite.”
“Violin Girl?”
She tipped her chin up, her lips spreading into a wider smile. “Oh, yeah.”

And just when I began to think I would never get a glimpse of the characters that I have come to love…at last…Harper and Deacon, Jazz and Gray, snarky Nick and even my fav Lila Shawcross suddenly appear….lots of new things happening to Oblivion….kids on the way……more more more…..

A nice conclusion to Simon and Margo’s HEA!!!!

One of my fav quotes:
“There was much b!tch!ng about swollen ankles, boobs, and the inability to get out of chairs without assistance. Hovering husbands, formerly known as a guitar god and a demon bass player, had lost their manhood.

I can’t wait for Shattered – finally Lila and Nick’s story!!! I love this woman!!!!

Hot, hot, HOT! This is a sweet – did I mention scorchingly hot? – story with touching undertones about introspection, learning to take the good with the bad and discovering love.
“The soft look in her eyes was disarming and made his gut cramp. Was that what love looked like?”

Possibly losing your livelihood is an alarming thought, especially if it’s your own fault. Doing it spectacularly in front of your band mates and fans is even worse. And now Oblivion’s front man, Simon Kagan, is left with no other option than to take a break, heal and deal with the consequences. At least for now, he has Margo by his side, but how long will she stay especially when she realizes he’s not worthy?
“She was so frigging beautiful. It was the kind of beautiful that stole breath and made a man wonder if he was worthy. Good thing he knew he wasn’t. And that was just too bad. He was keeping her anyway.”

Margo Reece has always lived according to her parents controlled design. Until she’s asked to collaborate with Oblivion. While she discovers how her sound blends with theirs and how wonderful it feels to create her own music, she also finds love in the most unexpected person. But can she continue to be Simon’s rock when her own life seems so unstable? Will love take hold when it’s always been such an elusive concept for both of them?
"He sealed their lips and breathed her in. Honeysuckle and ocean and cocoa butter. And his. Undeniably his. He wanted to take all of it back with him, protect it like the Hope-fucking-diamond. Protect it like he hadn’t protected his voice. Cherish it like he’d never cherished anything before."

Consumed starts right where Destroyed left off after Simon needs emergency vocal chord surgery and his future and that of his band seems uncertain. Margo is determined to be by his side and committed to help him recover, going as far as making a deal with her parents in exchange for access to their St. John residence.

And though Margo and Simon’s start of their relationship consisted of stolen heady moments in Destroyed (book #3 in the series), they made up for it while spending close to two weeks in the secluded virgin island.
“Simon’s dark edges were just as addicting as the glimmers of that boyish, teasing side that had just started to peek out between them. The way he looked at her like she was beautiful and precious. He made her want to believe it. He made her want more…”

Since Simon wasn’t allowed to speak or even make sounds, they found other ways of communicating and enjoying their time together in very erotic, intense and sultry ways. But there’s also a lot of time reflection and soul-searching. Some of which leads to scary depressing thoughts of his future. Margo isn’t far behind with her hazy plans. But one thing is for certain, together, they feel they can conquer the world.
"How could she not have seen it wasn’t just the sex that took her over? It was also the absolute trust she handed him… The trust that had been blooming out of love. From the music that had connected them first, and now to the physical and emotional pieces that fit together like she’d been made for him."

When they get back to reality, the entire band is there to support them while continuing with their own lives and expanding families.
“There was much b!tch!ng about swollen ankles, boobs, and the inability to get out of chairs without assistance. Hovering husbands, formerly known as a guitar god and a demon bass player, had lost their manhood.

But Simon and Margo realize they have options and life isn’t so intimidating. Especially now that they’ve found each other.
“Say my name.”
His lips twitched. “Which one?”
She smiled. “Your favorite.”
“Violin Girl?”

She tipped her chin up, her lips spreading into a wider smile. “Oh, yeah.”

I have been fascinated with Cari Quinn and Taryn Elliott’s beautiful writing since reading the prequel to this series. I love the way they describe everything from landscapes, to concerts, to love scenes with such vivid and lyrical ways that instantly spark my imagination and make me feel as if I were right there experiencing everything they depict.

I’ve also fallen in love with each and every character in this series which is full of drama and angst, but mostly filled with love and music. I’m sure there are still hard times ahead but together they “find a special kind of magic,” and I can’t wait to see where their road to happiness takes me.

Consumed is novella 3.5 in the Lost in Oblivion series by Cari Quinn and Taryn Elliott. It should not be read as standalone. It is the second part of Simon and Margo’s story, so at the very least you should read Destroyed before reading this Consumed. Told from both points of view, filled with incredible beaches and lots of hot sexy times with a happy ending that will give fans like me, a satisfying look at their favorite rock stars.

4 to 4.5★

“The liquid heat rushing around his fingers and down her inner thighs left her sagging against the wall.
Destroyed her.
Consumed her.
Rebuilt her.”

After Destroyed, I was so excited in reading this. This took off after the incident that Simon pulled off on their concert in The Greek and somehow is the peak of Oblivion’s career and will decide of what will happen to them based on Simon’s decision and outlook in life. And also, if there will be something more than fucking between him and Margo.

Finally, there will be a focus on their relationship and not just about the band and the tour and the charts and the albums.

I actually loved everything that happened in here. The trips that both Margo and Simon took individually. It made me know them better, and understand them why they made such decisions in life and what push them. I may have an inkling of their past, but not a first-hand experience or basis of what they have been through.
“He read her body like he sang a song.”

I also love the events that succeeding their individual trips. The spontaneity of everything they have done and the significance that it actually has. And somehow, with Simon not being able to speak, everything took off with a deeper meaning. The importance of communication and understanding each other, knowing the other person without having to speak and just by looking, the little details that most of the time were not given attention, and to see their significance.

I also loved how they enjoyed and the fun they had. Especially Margo’s driving. That’s something.

Was he such an asshole that his ego couldn’t handle Gray singing for him?
Yes.

What I appreciate most is the growth of the characters. Their self-realization, especially Simon and since their relationship has been given focus, the struggles and the petty conflict that happens in a relationship. I love how they handled things without so much drama and fanfare.

“Real men want curves and a woman who knows how to work it.”

My most favorite scene was their last time in the beach and the significance it had to them. Oh, of course that tattoo. It was so cute. And the t-shirt Simon gave to Margo, cute and aww worthy and yet nothing that’s actually corny and mushy.

I know, I’ve loved most of the scenes but there was something there that kept me from giving this a 5★ read, and that is introducing a new concept for me somewhere in the middle. I know, I get the significance of it in the end and how it had helped, but if maybe I’ve known the history beforehand even just a hint, it wouldn’t really matter. Of course, I love the tryst Margo and Simon did during that time and their relationship were something I’ve loved more, but I felt that part was dragged out too long for my taste. I think it would have been better if it were made short and then the ending was a lot longer that it was. I felt it was rushed, although I actually loved how it ended.

“I want us to be together. Not just in some bedroom in a shared house. Here together.”

The last book had an explosive and scary ending. It also had drawn me to the seductive Simon Kagan, a talented manwhore who is now a one-woman man. He and Margo Reece had formed a somewhat tenuous relationship but now they're forced to hang on to each other. Both of their lives now seem to hang in the balance.

One of the things I loved about this story was the introspective Simon. In the past, he was the carefree one who took his voice for granted. Now, with his health issues threatening to derail the band, Simon shows us his more serious side but never losing the essence of what makes him special and unique. I thought Margo would be the stabilizer so it was wonderful to see this role reversal.

Speaking of Margo, her insecurities borne from her background were much more subtle but deeply rooted. She and Simon, unwittingly, are a perfect fit. It was ironic that they first experienced that sexually and had to catch up in all other aspects. There's quite a bit of that but, even more ironic, it was the manwhore demanding more intimacy. Their journey down that path was the most interesting part of the story.

I so love this series. Every time I think the authors have reached their maximum they stretch me further. Simon and Margo are fascinating and the story unpredictable. As much as I wasn't crazy about the ending, it was perfect. Their next challenge is to endear Nick Crandall to me, which will not be easy. But, then, I never thought I'd ever be a Simon fan.

You need to get Lost in Oblivion.

I won an advanced copy of "Consumed." It was a quick and easy read. The Lost In Oblivion series is hot, sexy, emotional, sensual, romantic and did I say hot! Each story can stand alone but I highly recommend the series! "This Simon wasn’t looking for sex and a good time. This one could destroy her.” When Simon dropped the “L-bomb” in “Twisted,” it sent both Simon and the reserved Violin Girl into a tailspin. Margo’s determined to help Simon while still trying to figure out where she fits in his world and the music world. Nicks snarky attitude sets Simon on edge. Simon’s fate has yet to be determined. Will he be able to talk again let alone sing again? Ms. Quinn and Ms. Elliott have a combustible and erotic romance series that should top the charts. Their characters have depth and the storyline is very credible. Emotions run deep in “Consumed.” OMG!! I can't wait for "Shattered!"

Consumed picks up where Destroyed left off. I really don't want to give too much away because it'll spoil Destroyed if I talk about this one.

So, things you need to know:

Simon is in love with Margot. Which we knew in the beginning, but it takes him a long time to figure it out.
Margot is in love with Simon. Obvs. He brings out a side of her she didn't know existed.
Simon and Margot have some seriously hot as fuck sex. Hot. All over the place. Whenever they want. They chemistry they share on stage bleeds into the bedroom--kitchen, hallway, stairwell, wherever.

You want to read this book. Or listen. I listened. Kai and Wen are fantastic. Simon and Margot are fantastic.

Read it. Enjoy it. Buy the next book.

The pain of the pleasures...
Simon (aka Super Slut), is my favorite male band member. I agree with Margo's description, "He was sweet and funny, inappropriate ninety percent of the time." And that's exactly what I love about him. So, of course when that tragic event occurred during the last Oblivion concert my heart broke for him. He's not the same Simon now...he's even more damaged. He's right that "The past didn't define him. It was just a part of him." But now, it's the present that's threatening his dream. Will anyone want this version of him? The band is his dysfunctional family, the only one he has. Will they stand by him if he can't deliver?

I had been hoping for Margo to reappear in Simon's life, ever since their explosive night together in the studio in the first book. She walked away and I never knew why. I was curious to know her story. I was rooting for them to get together. I was sure that Simon's laid back attitude and crazy antics would loosen her up and bring out her wild side. She definitely needed help in that department. I had a hard time connecting with her for that reason. I was glad to spend more time with her in this book. She earned my respect when she pushed past her comfort zone and stood up for Simon. He needed her to be there for him. He needed someone who wasn't in the band... Someone who didn't blame him for what happened.

As we were warned in the synopsis, the HEA is coming, but it's not here yet. I'm still hanging. Anxiously waiting for all the obstacles to be removed and for the 'rock' stars to align. I'm still waiting for someone to slap Nicky upside his head because he's being a PITA. And I know that Dragon Lady is just the one to do it. I don't know his story, but I'm sure he falls into the broken category. There must be a lot of baggage in his past causing him to be so grumpy. Unfortunately, he's not taking Simon's suggestion on how to relieve stress. But all hope is not lost, I'm counting on Lila to step in and address that issue, or undress. Either works for me... ABOUT THE BOOK: Release Date August 4, 2015

REVIEW: 4.25 stars--CONSUMED is the part 2 of Simon Kagan and Margo Reece’s storyline in Cari Quinn /Taryn Elliott’s LOST IN OBLIVION new adult, contemporary erotic, romance rock series focusing on the members of the rock band Oblivion. Their continuing story picks up immediately upon the events of DESTROYED (Lost in Oblivion 3) wherein Simon had just collapsed on stage during a concert, and therefore CONSUMED should not be read as a stand alone.

NOTE: If you have NOT read DESTROYED, there may be some spoilers in my review.

Told from dual third person perspectives (Simon and Margo) CONSUMED focuses on Simon’s recovery following surgery to correct the continuing damage Simon has inflicted upon his vocal chords and throat. Margo arranges a trip to the islands in the hopes of some R&R but in doing so has sold her soul to the devil as payment for the favor. The storyline follows several weeks in the relationship (excluding epilogue) between Margo and Simon, and the potential fall out for a man whose singing career may have come to an end.

CONSUMED is the story about one man’s introspective into his life and his career: his future, the music, the band, the alcohol and sex. Cari Quinn and Taryn Elliott get up close and personal with Simon and the woman that he loves as they eek out a seemingly normal existence on the island of St. John in the Virgin Islands. But Simon becomes restless and finds himself in front of the camera but for an entirely different story.

The relationship between Simon and Margo is highly erotic, intense, provocative and seductive. The $ex scenes are numerous and graphic-our couple spend most of their time in bed, up against a wall, on the beach, on the floor.... well, you get the idea. There is nothing off limits between Margo and Simon, and I had to wonder if all there was between them was a fantastic $ex life and nothing else. Their sexual compatibility cannot be denied but there is something to say about their silent communication on an entirely different level.

All of the previous storyline characters and couples play a secondary and supporting role: Jazz and Gray, Deacon and Harper; producer Donovan; and Lila Shawcross-the band’s publicist-who continues to keep the band from imploding in front of the media and paparazzi. Nick Crandall’s volatile persona begins to push a few buttons and in this Nick’s story will be the focus of SHATTERED (book 4)-his attraction to Lila has not gone unnoticed by the band.

For those of you who have read the series, and are wondering about Snake and his current situation, very little is revealed. Snake is but an afterthought to the premise of CONSUMED. I am thinking Snake needs his own story (or novella); one that we know will not end with a happily ever after.

CONSUMED is a sexually charged, erotic romance storyline about two people from different backgrounds who fall in love despite the odds. Cari Quinn and Taryn Elliott have skillfully merged their writing styles resulting in a fantastic series about sex, drugs, and rock and roll. Each member of the band will find his or her happily ever after, but the road to happiness and love is filled with heartbreak and pain. CONSUMED gives Margo and Simon their happily ever after-for now-but there is still more story to come!

NOTE: Consumed is part 2 of Simon and Margo's story, as well as part of the Lost in Oblivion series that must be read in order. Reading order provided below.

Consumed picks up, immediately, where Destroyed left off. Everyone is worried for Simon, his voice and what will happen to the rest of their tour. When they're informed of the extent of Simon's injury, it's a worry fest for them all, but Margo steps up to be Simon's advocate as she puts his health and well being before any decisions made that affect the band and tour. She is willing to be his cheerleader to help keep his spirits up and get him back to doing what he loves.

To help with his recovery, she whisks him away to her favorite paradise where he can do nothing but relax and heal. Since he's not permitted to make the slightest whimper, he can no longer rely on his quick wit and comic relief to avoid his feelings and as a result, he gets the chance to acknowledge his feelings as he sits back and relishes in all things Margo. Her beauty, her heart and her sexiness do nothing but draw him in even more that their first moment together.

Along the road to his recovery, Simon stumbles upon an unexpected career opportunity that isn't in his heart but ultimately thrusts him into a fame-dom he didn't expect.

This was a slow paced story where we're allowed to get to know Simon and Margo on a much deeper level without all the hooplah and drama that surrounds the band. We are given the change to see their hearts on a level not experienced in the previous books. I quite enjoyed the pace of the story as well as the further development of Simon and Margo's connection.

4.25 "Be Careful what you wish for" Stars

Let me start by saying I love this series and I wish I could personally hang with all the members of Oblivion. I also need to say that if you haven't read the other books in the series...

This is the second half of Simon and Margo's book. I complained about not getting enough of Simon and Margo as a couple during that story and let me say, there is no shortage of them as a couple in this story. It literally consumes the first 80 percent of the book and while I love the steaminess of this couple, it just got to be a little boring for me. Despite them being together non stop and having sex multiple times per day, I still don't feel I got their connection as a couple. They share some special moments together and open up to each other a little about their pasts and what they loved, I still couldn't see the connection. Honestly, the way Simon describes the other females he comes across irks me because I really want him to have eyes only for Margo, oh well.

Everything changes at the 80 percent mark and it literally saved this story for me. I loved this part and I would gladly give the last twenty percent 5 stars. Not only did I start to feel Simon's sincerity in his feelings for Margo but there also was more story there. One of the things I have always loved about this series is that we get the back story of what is going on with the band and I had to wait to the end to get, though it was worth the wait. There are still some question marks for Simon and Margo, but we leave with them on a good note. As far as the band, it looks like there will still be some challenges but things do seem hopeful.

The Epilogue was perfect and has me jumping for joy. I cannot wait to see what the reserved Nick has in store in the next book. After enjoying the fun texts between Margo and Lila, I get the impression that Lila will help to make for an interesting heroine in the next book. So when the next book comes out...

Thanks to the author for a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

STOP! if you have not yet read " Deystroyed" some spoilers ahead.
In Deystroyed you discover that Simon Kagan the lead singer is Deystroyed in more way than one, his one night stand life is over, the only women he wants is Margo; his " violin girl" , such a loss to all the Simon fan girls. However by the end of the book you find out that , this new one women man, and natural singer has ignored the warning signs of vocal chord issues and it leads to catastrophic issues for him and in turn for Oblivians future!

The Simon Kagan in this book is just as consumed with Margo as news in Deystroyed , but his injury leaves him scared that he has lost his career and might loose the women he loves because of it! Margo, though steps up and faces her own issues , her overbearing , controlling parents and her fear of dissapointing them. She faces her mother to secure a place for Simon to recover from the paparazzi and fans . Securing the use of the family property cost her though but for Simon, she concedes other mothers wishes that she interview for another orchestra even though what brings her to life is playing with Oblivian.
These two will have two phenominal weeks away from it all, with very little communication via conversation and a good share of it In the sac!
Both fear what will happen when they come back from reality, will Simon's voice be salvageable , will Oblivian survive, will Margo still be their for Simon, will he still want her if she goes back to an Orchestra, will he return to being a groupie chaser?
Though not a cliff hanger book, Simon still has a long way to go before Oblivian can possibly tour of record again!
Another wonderful book in the Oblivian series !
Arc graciously provided by authors for an honest review!

This was a nice conclusion to the first half of Simon and Margo's story. I'm a little torn about whether this really should have been two stories. On the one hand, cut a lot of the sex (and there's a LOT that could be cut), and it probably could have been one story. On the other hand, maybe we needed the break in the middle to truly appreciate how different Simon was when he wasn't "performing" or "always on". It gave Simon an opportunity to really show Margo how he felt, as opposed to telling her, since he literally could not talk. I also liked that Margo was able to really let herself go with him.

I thought it was great that Roman could give him another avenue for earning money. It's definitely something Simon fell into, but if he can do it and people want to pay him for it, why not? It seemed by the end that Simon's voice was on the mend, though not quite to where he had been before the injury. Maybe he will never be. Maybe he'll have a new sound. And he obviously knows now not to ignore what's happening in his throat. But everything's moving in a positive direction for him and the band.

I'll be interested to see how the Nick/Lila thing works out.

This is a fantastic continuation of Simon and Margo's story. It picks up right at the end of Destroyed and tells us what happens to Simon. I loved the fact that the book was so centered on Simon and Margo. The fact that Simon couldn't talk for so long added another layer to the story. I can't see what happens next for them!

I Love Simon

This series, so far, is awesome. It kind of reminds me of my days watching soap operas. We're introduced to these people who, in the beginning, are not only struggling to make their dreams come true, but who are each struggling with personal issues and/or demons. We come to care about them... unless you're like me...then you just fall head over heels in love with them.

This is the second installment of Simon and Margo's story. Simon is my absolute favorite character!! I love his humor. I love his dirty mind...and accompanying dirty mouth. I love how he loves his music and his friends...and I especially love Simon in love.

Simon has surgery on his vocal cords and his life and career and the future of the band is up in the air. In order to help him relax, recover and escape the prying eyes of fans and paparazzi, Margo whisks Simon off to her family's property on the island of St. John.

Margo is escaping for herself, as well. Her hyper-judgmental mother, philandering father and wild-child sister, on top of her career--which is in flux--have Margo's head and heart turned upside down.

Margo finally admits to herself and to Simon that she loves him, but because of her father and her screwed up family, she doesn't trust love.

This book does an awesome job of taking us through Simon's turmoil. (Will he be able to return to the band?) It touches on Margo's issues (even whether or not she'll return to playing in an orchestra). But we don't quite get to their HEA in this book. There is one more book in Simon and Margo's story. I can't wait to see what gets thrown their way next!

Fantastic Audible Listen🎧 More Simon💘Margo Awesomeness!

Consumed
Lost in Oblivion, Book 3.5
By: Taryn Elliott, Cari Quinn
Narrated by: Kai Kennicott, Wen Ross

I am loving this series and can not praise it enough. Taryn Elliott and Cari Quinn continue to deliver interesting storylines that are captivating from start to end. This book picks up right where “Destroyed” leaves off, Simon is rushed into surgery and everyone is worried and waiting to find out how he is. I loved how Margo took charge, set up R & R for him while he recouped. Also loved the one on one he had with Nick, it was great to see their special bond. It was great to see Margo and Simon grow closer and fall in love, it was also great to see Simon get his music groove back after seeing her audition for the Philharmonic. This book is well written and well plotted, there is a natural and beautiful flow to the story with many heartfelt moments, drama, a bit of angst and some hot romance. Thank you Taryn Elliott and Cari Quinn for another awesome story, I am looking forward to what comes next for Simon and Margo and the rest of the Oblivion gang.

I listened to the Audible edition, Kai Kennicott and Wen Ross are fantastic narrators and voice artists. Their duet performance is amazing, it enhances the story to another level of greatness. They continue to bring these characters to life, give them their voice and personality and a whole lot of heart. Kai’s portrayal of Margo is spot on, as is Wen’s Simon, they really do them justice. It is always a pleasure to listen this dynamic duo!! Thank you for another great and entertaining listen🎧

I give a lot of credit to a writer for writing a book where two characters are together and one is on complete voice rest, as I re-read this book I marveled at the fact this duo took the voice away from someone who loves to talk but they did and I think that really allowed us to see more of the real Simon, not the public Simon. I also give Margo a lot of credit for knowing when to push, when to just be there, and when to stand her ground. There was a lot of push/pull between them and Simon being determined to pay back his band members for the money he feels he cost them showed a level of maturity in him that readers hadn't really seen before. I also loved that Margo let go of her mother's words and became more comfortable in her own skin, to realize she was cherished and not afraid to own her curves. Overall I liked this book and this couple.

Beyond consumed

So after that last cliffhanger we now enter the world of Simon..... hold on tight cuz this is one bumpy road with many many ups and downs and who will be by his side and who will get pushed aside.

Simon was on a downward spiral and now he has to learn deal with everyone and pressures of what all happened. Do his Violin Girl sand by his side or his band and what will happen in the end,,, ,yup read and find out you won't be sorry

A third book in Margo and Simon's story?

Thank God! I kept watching that percent read number increase and the band wasn't back together . The girls hadn't had their babies yet. M and S were engaged or married and they haven't found out about their special surprise yet.

I can't wait to get on to Nick's story, but I can wait until M and S are blissfully wed.

Good Book in the Series

I liked the continuation of Simon and Margo’s story. I like that it wasn’t tied up with a neat bow. Lots of emotional ups and downs and growth in their relationship.

After what happened in Destroyed I thought that was the end of Oblivion because how good could it be if they don't have a lead singer... I'm glad to see Nick is still loyal to his bandmates no matter what. This is better that any soap opera I could come up with.

Consumed picks up right where Destroyed ended. Now, I can't review this book without some spoilers to Destroyed. So if you haven't read Destroyed and don't want to be spoiled, you have been warned.

Warning!

Warning!

Warning!

Warning!

Warning!

Ok, now that that it over.

Simon is in the hospital. All those months of ignoring the tickle in his throat and abusing his vocal cords has led to him damaging them. Not knowing what the future holds, the band ends the tour and they all go their respective ways. Angry at the world and himself, Simon is now silent. Unable to use his voice for weeks and on a restrictive diet. He heads back to his beginnings, to the beach that comforts him and the laundry mat where Oblivion began.

While Simon is getting the bad news, Margo is by his side, but she wants something for him and herself. Her wealthy family owns a house on a beach on a tiny island. She trades with her mother to get access to it: she must try out for a new symphony spot open in California. Nothing is too big for helping Simon. Off to the island Simon and Margo go.

The two trade in their busy lifestyles for sun, a beach and a house that used to be a church. They make love and grow closer as a couple, with a looming timeline and no voice to be a front man any more. While on the island, they do things honeymooners do (lots of sexy times people!). Turning off their phones and ignoring the world. Margo gives everything to Simon, but still sees their time together with an expire tag. Men can't be trusted to be faithful forever and she won't be the second fiddle in any relationship.

Simon didn't need his voice to be heard. For two weeks he seduces Margo with his body, eyes and his heart. The man she fell for is gone and Simon doesn't know who he is any more, he just knows Margo is the woman he loves, desires and never wants to leave. The sea is where Simon finds solace, when not in Margo's arms, so this trip to St. John is a dream. He works hard to get back his voice, repay his bandmates for lost revenue with a cancelled tour and to find a path where he might never be able to sing again. It is so emotional to read, feeling just how lost he is and committed to making it right.

Through it all, the two were there to support each other. Margo with taking care of him and Simon taking care of the band. While it ended resolving the love story, the future of Oblivion is still in doubt and I couldn't wait to go grab the next book...a short story to accompany Simon and Margo.

Slick's review posted at Guilty Pleasures Book Reviews

4.5 stars

**Reviewer's note: This isn't a book you can pick up and read if you haven't at the very least read Destroyed. Lost In Oblivion is an ongoing series and while each book ends with a HFN ending (with the exception of Destroyed) the characters are present in each book and the story of this bands rise from obscurity to chart topping continues through each book.

I know many of you'll are probably sick of me singing the praises of this writing team but I can't help it, from the prequel to the Lost In Oblivion series I was hooked on this dynamic group and as this series progresses with all of its ups and down I've become more engrossed in it. The last book in this series Destroyed left me feeling just that and I'll admit it had me way more nervous than any other book in this series, but Consumed gave me hope about what's to come, it let me breath a little deeper that everything will work out for this group and it gave me a great appreciation for the characters involved. This book affected me on many levels; it was heart breaking, it was touching, it was beyond sexy and most of all it was hopeful.

Lead singer Simon Kagan is fresh out of surgery to repair damage to his vocal cords and is angry and upset at the recovery time and the restrictions his doctor has put on him. His voice issues will cost the band millions because of cancellations and he can't stand that he's let them down. The bright spot in his life is Violin Girl...his Margo, but he's not sure he'll ever be enough for her. Margo knows one thing she needs to take Simon away from Los Angeles, away from his band members and away from prying eyes so he can heal so she does the unthinkable, she asks her parents for a favor but refuses to back down on her association with Simon however a promise she makes her mother might possibly affect their fragile relationship.

I was really curious how this book would go down as Simon was not allowed to talk at all for two weeks and friends Simon LOVES to talk, but he found other ways to communicate and get his point across and he and Margo found they didn't need to talk a lot of the time at least not with their voices. A vacation on St John was just what Simon needed with the sand and surf being a calming influence in his life having it right at this fingertips healed him in more ways than one.

Consumed is HIGHLY erotic; this is a very sexual couple and they enjoy exploring each other and have quite the appetite for outdoor sex but honestly I think that comes from them simply being consumed by each other that they can't wait. I won't lie, I still feel this couple needs some time to really learn more about each other and their dreams, there is no denying they are compatible on a sexual level, there is no denying they care about each other deeply and have even professed their love and while Margo has seen a bit about what it is like to be in Simon's world he has yet to see what Margo's family and life are truly all about. One thing is for certain we've seen both these characters grow and change in their time together and it was a little amusing watching each of them feel a little bit of jealous during their time together as Simon returned to modeling and Margo became more comfortable showing off all the curves that God gave her; I appreciated that they were both quick to reassure each other there was no one else they wanted in their lives. Most of all though I'm amazed at how much they've learned about each other through observation; they each seem to have great insight in to what the other wants or needs because they've both so carefully watched and listened so while they may not as verbal as their counterparts they've tuned in to each other on a different level.

Simon's recovery, the band's future and their immediate legal issues due to concert cancellations as well as the death of a former band mate that had recently filed suit against them was the conflict in this book. While Simon worked to figure out everything he could do to prevent any more hardship for his fellow band members, Margo was there to keep him healthy, happy and to support him every step of the way.
