For as long as Alice can remember, she has dreamed of Max. Together, they have travelled the world and fallen deliriously, hopelessly in love. Max is the boy of her dreams—and only her dreams. Because he doesn’t exist.

But when Alice walks into class on her first day at a new school, there he is. Real Max is nothing like Dream Max. He’s stubborn and complicated. And he has a whole life Alice isn’t a part of. Getting to know each other in reality isn’t as perfect as Alice always hoped.

Alarmingly, when their dreams start to bleed into their waking hours, the pair realize that they might have to put an end to a lifetime of dreaming about each other. But when you fall in love in your dreams, can reality ever be enough?

Dreamology is one of the most epic love stories I have ever read. And by epic, I mean:

Seriously guys, I was fangirling the ENTIRE time that I was reading this book. It was amazing, beautiful, hilarious, and relatable. It's a contemporary romance with a sci-fi twist that will make you want to read it over and over again. Once I picked it up, I couldn't put it down. The characters are fantastic, the writing is witty and funny, and the development of the plot is extremely well-executed. I highly recommend that ALL of you add this book to your TBR if you haven't done so already. Dreamology is already on my list of best books of 2016.

Ever since Alice was a little girl she’s been accompanied by Max in her dreams. Whether scuba diving around an old pirate ship or floating down a milk river on Cinnamon Toast Crunch rafts, Max has always been by her side. As much as Alice wishes Max was a part her real life, each morning when she wakes . . . .

That is until she starts a new school and Max walks into her classroom. Strange things begin to happen the more Alice gets to know the real life Max making her question is this the real life or is it just fantasy????

Sadly my reaction to this story was pretty much . . . .

I appreciated the attempt at a fresh spin on a love story, and the “knowing each other in dreams” made Alice’s instalove not quite so barfable, but it still wasn’t great. And the love interest himself?????? Ugh. Super Douche Cheatie McCheater Pants who deserved a big fat kick in the nutsack for being so effing wishy-washy. Get your shit together!

I realize I’m soooooooo not the right demographic for this one and for any of you parents who may be wondering it's (in my opinion, which let’s face it is pretty warped and disturbing so you might not want to listen) perfectly benign and fine for the teenie bopper set to read if they are looking for fluffy good times with a happily-ever-after tied up in a pretty red bow. However, since I’m a geezer I was hoping Alice would have a miraculous wake-up call and see . . . .

I wanted her true love to be discovered with Oliver instead. Oh Oliver . . . .

“ It’s a little too soon to tell, but I’m pretty sure she is going to be my first wife.”

One of these days someone will figure out that this guy should be the one who gets the girl . . . .

I expected a lot more from this story with all the raving reviews I saw coming from it. But sadly this book just wasn't for me.

(On another note this book's vibe is crazy similar to Rebel Belle so if you've read that and enjoyed it, I'd highly recommend you giving this one a go!)

A lot of things didn't make sense and weren't explained well. Plot problems were solved in a page or two and just happened like it could have been solved a hundred pages before.

The main charaters, Max and Alice, drove me mad. Max could be really rude at times and he 'couldn't control his feelings' Dude. Get a grip! You can't be pulling that ish on people.

As for Alice I felt embarrassed for her half of the time. She and max we both so indecisive and making things so much more complicated them it needed to be! Almost through out the whole book she was basically just throwing herself at him!

Sophie was my favorite character. She is so full of smiles and sassy comments. they made my laugh each time I read them!

Oliver, oh that poor guy. Alice didn't treat him fairly! He was her friend from the start when she had NONE always there to save her from awkward situations, even became in love with her which helped Max be jealous.. all that? He deserves more thanks.

What a fun read Dreamology is! I started reading yesterday evening with every intention of just reading a few chapters before heading to bed. Next thing I knew I'd read half the book. A unique concept with an interesting set of characters kept me glued to the pages.

Alice and Max have dreamt of each other since they were just kids. Through their dreams they've traveled the world and fallen desperately in love. But that's all it is, just dreams. Until Alice's first day at her new school when she arrives to class and real Alice comes face to face with real Max.

I adored the dreamy aspect of this story. The dream sequences were so quirky and out there, it makes me wish I had a more active imagination. It's easy to see how Max and Alice fall for each other when they're in their dreams. They're able to forget about their daily problems and just live in the moment, two teenagers in love. But in real life, things are completely different. They don't actually know anything real about each other so we get to watch them learning about the other and falling in love all over again.

I loved ALL the characters! Everyone's personalities really shined through, including the secondary characters, making up a pretty fun bunch. I enjoyed the sweet and innocent romance with the perfect amount of push and pull.

I'm surprised this is a debut novel honestly. The plot is captivating, the imagery is vivid, the writing flows so beautifully and the pacing is just right. I felt like I was floating on a fluffy cloud. I'm already looking forward to reading this book again!

Definitely recommend this to contemporary readers and all the dreamers out there.

(Source: I received a digital copy of this book for free on a read-to-review basis. Thanks to HarperCollins and Edelweiss.)

“Standing in the doorway of the classroom, looking directly at me, is Max.
My Max.
My Max of my dreams.”

This was a bit of a weird story, and I didn’t really enjoy it.

Alice just whined way too much for me, from Max not recognising her, to her name being dull, it just seemed like she never stopped moaning! She came across as quite immature, and she just irritated me.

The storyline in this was about Alice trying to work out why she dreamed of Max, and trying to get him to like her more than his girlfriend, and I just didn’t appreciate it. It looks like I’m in the minority, but this book just didn’t do it for me, and I lost interest pretty early on unfortunately. The storyline with Max and Alice also irritated me as he had a girlfriend!

The ending to this was happy enough, but again, I didn’t really enjoy this book.

This book reminds me of the joys of having an active imagination. I felt like I was floating on a euphoria-filled cloud the entire time I spent reading this book.

Keating's writing is bubbly and cheery, and there's a flair of sophistication and pure happiness infused in her words. I could feel it from page one to the very end. Although this book deals with grief and abandonment and childhood problems, this book really picks up your spirits with its humor and touching scenes. I found myself smiling and chuckling throughout the book, and it was really such a pleasure to read Dreamology.

The voice in the novel was outstanding. Alice's whimsical sense of humor and overall outlook on life is fresh and fun! She's such an easy character to like. Max is basically the perfect guy, both driven and sweet, talented and smart, and thoughtful and reliable. I want a Max!! The romance is a bit of a twist in this book. Max and Alice have known each other since they started appearing in each other's childhood dreams. They've grown up with each other and gone on crazy journeys in their dreams, so when they meet in person, it's a bit of a reality shock for Alice to see that Max isn't exactly the same, carefree person as he is in their dreams. Their romance is more about getting to know each other in reality and learning to live in the here and now as opposed to in their dreams. The romance is saccharine sweet and about as beautiful as it could possibly get.

The dreams aspect rivals with the romance as my favorite part of the novel. My interest was especially piqued whenever Alice and Max embarked on one of their wild dreams; it was so innovative and awe-inducing! Keating has such a vivid and active imagination, it was so fun seeing what these two did next. My one complaint is that I still don't fully understand the explanation of dreams and how Alice and Max ended up appearing in each others' dreams.

I loved every character dearly, even the secondary characters. Everyone had such a vibrant personality, something that endeared them to me. Keating manages to take an idea that's been used before and makes it unique and fascinating. She pumps some vitality and joy into the dreams and packs emotions and heart into the story. As light and cheery as this book is, it also deals with embracing reality and moving on and connecting with others.

I absolutely loved this debut novel, and even if you aren't a contemporary reader, I want you to read this book!!

I loved the premise of this {and hello gorgeous cover}, so I was quite eager to start reading.

I loved Alice right from the beginning. She's a little quirky, but I think that was one of my favorite parts to her personality. She loves being in her dreams and who can blame her. Max is sweet and maybe a little confused at what's happening. He catches up quickly and I liked him so much even his push and pull with Alice didn't annoy me. There are some other great characters {Oliver and Alice's BFF, Sophie}

The science-y stuff wasn't too science-y, but definitely seemed plausible. And I love love loved the chapters with the dreams. The plot was captivating and had imagery so vivid it felt like I was in the dreams with Alice and Max.

I could easily read these two forever.

**Huge thanks to Harper Teen and Edelweiss for providing the arc in exchange for an honest review**

Dreamology was a cute, fun and easy read, mixing contemporary with sci-fi but ultimately, for me, it was nothing special. I didn't find myself entirely connected or attached to either the characters or the plot, although I did appreciate the concept. However, it was cute and fun and it's definitely made me intrigued to read more from Lucy Keating in the future.

UGH I don’t even know where to start.. so maybe start this review with things I like about this book: cover and premise… and that’s all I like about this book… as someone who loved to sleep and dream, this sounds like a perfect fluffy read! BUT NOPEEEEE… so it came to the things WHAT I DON’T LIKE ABOUT THIS BOOK that ended me with a single star (prepare for a very salty review)

- The writing style is weird… its all over the places

- The main characters were so CHILDISH AND ANNOYING!! Especially the main character Alice…shes whinny and hypocrite spoiler brat.. there were some moments when adult people tried to be nice to her but she thougths so many rude comments inside her head my eyes just role and role and I feel like they might be stay on the back of my head when I finish this book.. I was like did I think rude like this when I was a teenager?

- The LOVE FREAKING TRIANGLE, I don’t ship the main couple here… Love triangle story can be really good if done well BUT IF NOT, it boiled my blood… this max guy probably describe like all the basic oh so perfect guy.. good looking and captain of some sport club ect ect but HE CHEATED HER NICE GIRLFRIEND for this childish spoiler brat Alice .. ugh nope.. the romance sounds not believeable too! Guy who cheat on his nice and sweet girlfriend, and Girl who go after a guy who already has a nice and sweet girlfriend GOT ZERO RESPECT from me… seriously author need to STOP making story justified CHEATING IS OKAY
- The ending was flat

Gosh this book can be one of the most disappointed book I have ever read I have no idea how I even survived finish this book!

This book is far from cute fluffy read and i need ice cream to cool down my anger towards this story

Quick review: I just couldn't give this book anything BUT 5 stars. But let me say, I can see how this story might not be for everyone. Personally, I have a huge imagination, and I have CRAZY dreams, that are sometimes very very realistic. That's the reason this story seemed so interesting to me.
This book is quirky, fun, silly, dreamy, and just entertaining. I started this at 2pm, and finished at 9pm, yes it's a quick read! But I didn't really want it to end... Kind of like a really good dream! I loved the characters, they were actually real, not so one dimensional. That's a huge plus for a book like this.
Basically, if you're thinking of reading this one... Just give it a try with an OPEN MIND.

"Love is a dream, then you wake up”

This was an absolutely adorable and unique love story. Everything was so cute, dream-like and magical. It started off as a relatively normally high school story with some unexplained dreams, but soon turned into a whacky and completely random story that seemed like one huge hallucination. It was a light, fast and fun read that left me feeling happy and giddy inside.

No matter how bad the day is, Alice knows that her dreams will be full of happiness and adventure. For as long as she can remember Alice has dreamt of Max, who was quite literally her dream guy. It started as simple companionship but over the years their relationship has progressed and Alice is now hopelessly in love with Max. Only, he doesn't actually exist...or so she thought.

When Alice moves across the country with her father, she is forced to endure changing high schools. This experience is made even more traumatising when, sitting casually in one of her classes is max — her dream man. Only now, he is alive, completely real and has an annoyingly perfect girlfriend. Plus, real Max is completely different from the dream Max that she has grown to love. He is stubborn, has frequent mood swings and she doesn't know whether or not he recognises her. As Alice and Max spend more time together in real life, their dream lives and their reality seem to start bleeding into each other. Things get weird and the pair start to realise the importance of separating their dreams from their real life.

“Our dreams are the one thing we share that nobody else can touch, And now we're going to lose it, and I am terrified.”

I think the best thing about this book is how realistically it portrayed dreams. Dreams are not sensical, ordered and they don't always reflect things from the day. The dreams in this book are the most realistic I have ever come across. They are extravagant, random and completely colourful. They also made sense whilst still having that dream-like confusion and that WTF is going on element. The dreams in this book has made it even more of a unique and strange book. So many time I found myself laughing through the dream scenes at the complete randomness of the events occurring. It was a super fun aspect of the book that added a very quirky element to the story.

The real-life scenes were much less extraordinary, they weren't bad per-say but they also weren't memorable. Just the usual, teenage angst, love triangles and self discovery that occurs during high school. I wasn't disappointed with this part of the book, but it wasn't anything overly memorable or spectacular. I liked the characters but I wasn't intrigued or invested enough in them to overlook the mediocracy of the overall high school plot line. I had hoped that the quirkiness of the dreams would bleed over into the characters or the writing in the normal chapters, but that didn't happen.

“It surprises me, how a small gesture can feel so very big. How sometimes you don't realize the nervousness or sadness you were holding deep inside until the touch of someone you love lets it all out of you, like your entire body is exhaling.”

This book was very fast paced, but not in a bad way. This is, until the story ended rather abruptly and without full explanation. The premise of dreams bleeding into reality was so intriguing to me, which is why I picked this book up in the first place. In the beginning the premise was being explored in exciting and new ways, but towards the end it became more confusing than intriguing. I didn't understand what was happening and whether or not it was hallucinations or actual real events occurring. I know that this was done on purpose to make it seem dream like, but it wasn't properly explained in a conclusion. I wished they had explored the whys and hows more, instead of leaving me feeling confused. Towards the end of the book, the story verged right away from dreams and focused more on the romance. I did really enjoy the romance but I left the book feeling unsatisfied with the ending since nothing was explained.

The book was pretty adorable as a whole. The dreams added their own cuteness factor to the story because the relationship between Max and Alice was established right at the beginning of the book. The setting of the dreams helped to create a feeling of giddiness and anticipation that comes with first loves or high school sweetheart stories. In real life, the pair were also quite awkwardly adorable. Their fumbling relationship was just full of cute moments, hilarious banter and relatable awkwardness. The story was light and fluffy and mixed with the cuteness factor, this was just such a heartwarming book to read. It was sweet and unique rather than extraordinary and loud. An overall enjoyable story.

“I can’t lose you,” he says for a third time, in a whisper. And I take his face in my hands and push his hair behind his ears, as I stroke his jaw with my fingers.
“You will never lose me,” I say. “I’m right here.”

Mehhh, I guess I'm in the minority here on not really liking this one. This book just wasn't what I was expecting at all. Maybe it was a combination of high expectations and a romance that I didn't really care for, but I just didn't enjoy it all that much. I was expecting it to be a book about a girl who dreams about a boy for her entire life, and then she later meets the boy in real life - which is what the book is but then it's also so much more than that. I guess I just wasn't all that interested in figuring out why this was happening to them. I mean I was a little bit up until we figured out why and then I just lost interest.

I wasn't interested in the romance. Alice, our main character, has a very young voice, and I feel like maybe I would have liked this book better if I was younger. I think the target audience for this book is early teens, so maybe you'll enjoy this book more than I did if you're between the ages of 12-16. I just felt like Alice's voice and her romance with Max was a little juvenile and I couldn't connect with it. Dream-Max was very cute and sweet and I enjoyed a lot of the romance in their dreams, but then real life Max was so hot and cold and he annoyed me with his wanting her one minute then acting like a dick towards her the next. It got very repetitive in this way, and Alice's narrations got very repetitive as well with her questioning whether or not Max really liked her or not. The romance felt so high school but I guess I'm supposed to think it's the most passionate love. I don't know if that makes sense but that's how I felt about it.

One thing that really bothered me in this love story is that Max has a girlfriend. I am not a fan of girls who are home wreckers and try to get with a guy who has a girlfriend. Alice thinks that Max is hers just because "she's dreamed of him forever" so technically he was "her boyfriend" first, but still. I don't like the way Alice chases after Max even though he has a girlfriend and his girlfriend is really nice and friendly and it's sad. This book kind of reminds me of Anna and the French Kiss at least in the romance aspect and the way it was written. It also reminded me a little of The Program with the way the doctors studied their thoughts and their memories.

Overall, this book was forgettable. I didn't care for the romance and I didn't care for the characters either. It had a few cute moments that I could appreciate but I spent the majority of the story speed reading and wondering whether or not it would be worth finishing it. It's a damn shame to because this cover is absolutely stunning and I think this book would've looked gorgeous on my shelves (superficial I know but I really do love this cover). Oh well. Also, this is the second book I read for the 2016 Booktubeathon!

Okay, I'm gonna refrain from being too ranty about this book, but I will say I don't really get the hype around this book. I can see why some people liked this, but I don't get how SO MANY people love this across the board. With that being said, my review will contain all the rational reasons why I didn't like this book. I'm usually a really forgiving reader and I let things go pretty easily, but I couldn't with this.

But by the end of the book...all I could think was, really? what was the point of all that drama?

I've been wanting to read this book for a long time because so many people love it and as a contemporary lover, I always thought I would really enjoy it but nothing prepared me for how lame, cheesy and just generally bad it would be.

I was going to give it 3 stars because for the most part of the novel, I didn't really dislike it, I just never felt anything for it, no attachments to the characters or the story, I won't go in full discussion but things got very cheesy after some time, really boring and very immature as well. But something big happens towards the ending that I just couldn't take, it is completely unexpected and quite frankly ridiculous, I just couldn't bring myself to give this book 3 stars.

This was a cute little read, with an interesting concept :) I'm not sure how I feel about it though? (Like there were some parts I found wrong [I'll elaborate below] but GAH I LOVED THE DREAMING ABOUT EACH OTHER THING and the teeny tiny bits about psychology!)

Love is a dream, then you wake up.

One night I got bored so I browsed my Kindle library and found this.

To be honest, I forgot when I got Dreamology? I think it was a while back when I saw some of my GR friends reviewing it. There were 100+ unread books on my Kindle, but the cover of this book is so adorable and I found the title interesting, so I picked this :)

The beginning of the book was very boring *snores*, and I couldn't get into the story. But when I got to 25% stuff started happening and I was like "Oh okay. Let me continue reading and see if it gets better."

Apart from Celeste, I really liked Oliver, Alice's first friend at her new school. He is super cool + fun, and a really great friend. He has a Segway (he named it Sally, by the way) and takes Alice places to cheer her up. I loved reading the part where they rode a swan boat. Oliver's hilarious and charming.

I also really enjoyed reading about the dreams Alice and Max share. They dream about the funniest things (a giant pizza-like oreo, a talking swan, etc.) and I love seeing how, from a young age, even before meeting each other in real life, they have always been there for each other.

Overall rating

★★★.5

This was enjoyable, but some stuff felt kind of wrong? I want to read Literally, also by Lucy Keating soon, and hopefully I will like it better than this one!

i loved this! it is adorable, swoony, and funny. i can't give it 5 stars because there are a few plot holes here and there and i wish i could have gotten just little more from the the characters in terms of development BUT that's not what this book was supposed to be anyway...it just made me smile and laugh and root for max and alice.

“Love is a dream, then you wake up.”

Reading this book was like diving back into my early high school years, when daydreaming took up 90% of my life. Let me get one thing straight: this book was nothing like I expected it to be. It also wasn't terrible... it was just different. The concept is what drew me in.

Alice has been dreaming about this boy, Max, for years and years. They have an incredible bond and relationship. The problem? It's all in her head. She made him up. It's all fun and games (or in this case, fun and dreams) until she moves to Boston, starts at a new school, and meets someone who looks exactly like Max. The twist? It is the same Max from her dreams, and he remembers her too.

This is when things got weird for me. I thought it'd be a cute and fluffy romance. I pictured the dream aspect as something that would be explained away by coincidence or happenstance, like a childhood memory or something. What I didn't expect was this little speculative/sci-fi aspect of the story. It didn't exactly ruin it for me but it did make things feel a little less real for me (for lack of a better word). And I was hoping for some reality, if that makes sense.

Overall, I enjoyed Keating's writing and I'm still interested in the concept she developed, but it just missed the mark a little.

“But all broken bones or burns or hearts . . . well, they all heal up eventually.”

Dreamology has been sitting on my bookshelf for years before I finally decided to take the plunge and pick this up. I'm not going to lie, the main reason I bought this is because of the pretty cover first and the synopsis second. I can't say I was disappointed with this but I also wasn't in love with it either. It was just enough to keep me entertained before moving on to the next book I've left sitting on my TBR for years.

This is a more difficult book to review because just about everything other than the summary basically is a spoiler. And in case anyone else is in the same predicament I was and had this sitting on their bookshelf for years, I'll try to keep it simple. Alice dreams about Max almost every night, he's the boy of her dreams literally and figuratively. So, when Alice moves with her father back into her grandmother's house for a fresh start she's shocked to find out that Max is in fact very real. When Alice tries to get to know the "real" Max things get off to a rocky start, considering Max has a girlfriend and a whole life Alice never knew about. But when Alice and Max's dreams start to take over their real lives (think the wildest hallucinations ever), they know they need to get to the bottom of what's going on even if that means cutting each other out of their dreams for good.

I do have to say I was pleasantly surprised with the reasoning behind why Max was appearing in Alice's dreams. I wasn't necessarily expecting the book to get as deep as it did. Even though it was a little weird of an explanation I liked that it tied into more heavier topics of what teens can be going through, specifically living with a single parent and feeling abandoned by your other parent. I also really enjoyed the writing in this as well. The story flowed pretty well back and forth between dreams and reality and I definitely loved the twist on the story where Alice began to question what was real and what was a dream.

There were a few areas where I found this book lacking/frustrating and the first was definitely how Alice and Max dealt with everything. They were very indecisive and majority of this book could have been resolved with a conversation. It was just odd to see how much they cared for each other in their dreams and then in real life it was just so... flat. Also, neither of the main characters were that lovable. I was more interested in the side characters Sophie and Oliver. The actual dreams were a little too over the top for me as well. Don't get me wrong I've definitely had my fair share of waking up and the morning and thinking "wtf just happened" but these were so over the top that it seemed like maybe Alice was doing acid before going to bed every night. 👀

Favorite Quotes

“It surprises me, how a small gesture can feel so very big. How sometimes you don't realize the nervousness or sadness you were holding deep inside until the touch of someone you love lets it all out of you, like your entire body is exhaling.”

“Love is a dream, then you wake up.”

"You prefer things when they are stranger and prettier than everyday life. But that means you also make every moment of my life dreamier. More exciting and unexpected."

All in all, even though this won't be on my favorite books of 2019 list it was still an entertaining read. I can definitely say I've never read a book like this before so if you're looking a unique contemporary you should definitely give this one a shot!

DREAMOLOGY is a sweet and beautiful romance about two people whose lives become entwined by their subconscious.

Ever since they were kids, Max and Alice have dreamt about one another. Not a night goes by where they don't share a moment in time (sometimes it's a simple date at the MOMA other times they're on a wild adventure in another country). Alice blows everything off as a dream until she walks into a new school and sitting inside the classroom is Max.

Real, living, breathing Max. Who isn't just a figment of her imagination.

It's almost like falling in love twice: I loved Dream Alice and Dream Max. They're beautiful and perfect together. They've had over a decade of nightly meetings and encounters. But Real Alice and Real Max don't have that. And it's hard to tell where reality begins and dreams end.

Lucy Keating does a fantastic job of weaving the dream world with a physical world. Alice and Max are vibrant characters you can't help but love and root for.

This is a fantastic, fun new addition that's sure to give you sweet dreams.

“Don’t fall asleep,” he pleads. “We haven’t had enough time.”

High Expectations + A Book with My Pet Peeves = Utter Disappointment.
Don't get me wrong though, Dreamology is a book of never ending cute moments, but that just wasn't enough. Well, it actually could've been enough had there not been .

“Why? What happened on the balloon?” I ask, pretending to be confused.
“Oh, you don’t remember?” Max says, playing along. “Would it help if I reminded you?”
“It’s not just helpful, it’s important,” I say, pointing a finger at him. “Crucial to research as a matter of fa—” But I don’t even get to finish my sentence, because Max is already kissing me.”

Alice and Max have been appearing in each others dreams since they can remember. Each night they awake in their dreams together, and go have the cutest and craziest little adventures with each other. The first scene is a dream, and I was HOOKED. I got those little butterflies you get when you know you're reading a great romance.

Things didn't stay this way, sadly.

Because Alice meets Max. In real life. And he completely shuts her out. And I guess that's all I'll really say about the plot to keep it as spoiler-free as possible.

So for the things I didn't like:

• Real life Max. I feel like Dream and Real Max are completely different people; one is kind and adorable and the other is constantly hot and cold. It was kind of irritating, but don't get me wrong, he's an overall good guy.

• Alice, when she was being overly naive.

• My ultimate romance-book pet peeve.

• Plot holes on plot holes on plot holes. SO MANY PLOT HOLES. But I guess the plot was second to the characters anyway so it's no biggie, if I'm honest.

"And unfortunately, I have to be aware of the fact that Max Wolfe exists in the world. And, unfortunately, nobody else stands a chance."

Oooh, but also! The side characters were ALL awesome. Seriously, every single one either made me laugh or smile, I loved it. Oliver made me swoon from the first scene he was in; Sophie was an awesome, true best friend; Alice's dad was clueless, but adorable; and Celeste was goals.

I know I'm going to be in the minority in this, but 50% of what I read is straight up romance so I have high expectations!! I want to see a connection!! get butterflies!! and adore the characters (even with their flaws)!! And I guess I got a bit of that, but not enough.

ANYWAY. This review's all over the place, but I would still highly recommend because of it's cuteness and I know most people wouldn't really mind the pet peeves and issues I had with this book so! And look at the freaking cover. I LOVE IT. Plus, I'd honestly re-read this just for Max and Alice's little dream world.
“I can’t lose you,” he says for a third time, in a whisper. And I take his face in my hands and push his hair behind his ears, as I stroke his jaw with my fingers.
“You will never lose me,” I say. “I’m right here.”

A leitura do livro é superleve, envolvente e rápida.
