Birmingham Rebels offensive linemen Beau Perez and Cass Zielinski are inseparable, on and off the field. Cass, the captain with the cowboy swagger, is a loose cannon. Beau, the veteran tight end, is cool under pressure. And ever since they were caught on tape in a steamy threesome, their exploits have fueled more than a few tabloid headlines—and naughty fantasies.

Marian Treadwell knows all about the video. And now that she’s the Rebels’ new assistant offensive coach, she can’t look at Beau and Cass without picturing their hard, naked bodies—with her pressed in between. Marian would like nothing more than to indulge those impulses, but she knows better than to get too close to her players, a bunch of adrenaline-fueled alpha males who don’t always follow the rules.

Just the thought of sharing the gorgeous yet guarded Marian drives Cass wild. At first, Beau isn’t sure she’s right for them . . . and lately, all he desires is a little alone time with Cass to explore their new intimacy. But it’s only a matter of time before Cass breaks through both of their defenses. Because when seduction is the game plan, he always plays to win.

Broken Play is book one in the Birmingham Rebels series by Samantha Kane.

“If we don’t make it here, we don’t make it anywhere. We’re the redheaded stepchild of the NFL. The place trouble goes to either fade away or break out.”

football and helmet:

Cass Zielinski and Beau Perez are best friends, roommates, and members of the Birmingham Rebels. Cass is team captain. Several years ago, Cass helped Beau out in a time of need when he was dealing with dependency. They have been inseparable ever since. This team is their last stop. They want nothing more than to make a name for this team. Well, there is something they want more, Marian Treadwell.

pro football players:

Marian has been hired by the Rebels as an assistant coach. This is her big break, her dream come true. To coach professional football. Right away there is a connection with Cass and Beau. But she’s a coach and they are players. In more ways than one she believes. But for how long will she really be able to stay away from them? There is something in Marian’s past, though, that she is keeping hidden. Something that damaged her and keeps her from trusting.

“As crazy as it was, she was sure she needed Beau’s mouth on hers more than anything else. He was the anchor she sought as her world spun out of control again.”

Broken Play - Samantha Kane:

The Rebels have spent most of their budget on a new player, Danny Smith. Little did they know that Marian knows Danny. Danny is refusing to show up at mini camp. But he doesn’t realize that Marian is there. She wants him to show up on his own, without her influence. What is the relationship between Marian and Danny? What is the hold she has on him? Why is Danny so angry with the football profession and all it’s players?

I read this series out of order, the second book first, then going back and reading the first book. Where the second book was a little sillier in parts, I think this book had a little more of a serious tone to it. The main characters had serious issues to deal with. Cass and Beau knew that Marion was the perfect fit for them. She was their missing link. She made them whole. But before she can completely enter into this new relationship with them, she has to somehow find a way to heal from her own past.

two men one woman:

Of course there are plenty of sexy times. And these are hot, steamy, perfect, sexy times. This ragtag group of football players are coming together as a family. Do they have a chance to get into the playoffs? Can Cass and Beau convince Marion that she is meant for them? I already met Ty, the quarterback, in the second book, so it was fun to go back and see him before he met Randi.

As in the second book, I found these characters to be fun, loveable, and just plain entertaining. And of course, there is the hotness factor. I have loved both of these books in this series and can’t wait to see what might come next. Samantha Kane has a new fan in me.

“The Rebels are a crazy lot of misfits and rejects and we’re going to make them into a team. A real team. A winning team. And we’re going to show them that being different doesn’t mean you can’t be happy. We’re going to show them what happiness really is.”

Well...this is what happens when I read a book based on the hot cover alone. Le sigh. At first I was excited because it reminded me a little of another series I love but with hockey players, The Dartmouth Cobras series by Bianca Sommerland; biggest difference being that that series is heavy on BDSM and this one wasn't.

Unfortunately, I'm past the point where I can read a smutty book for the pure enjoyment of hot sex scenes. I need a plot driver, I need character development, I need something other than hot sex to keep me reading, and this book just didn't have that.

I love the concept and the sex scenes were hot and aplenty, but I needed more depth. I felt like I was jumping into the book halfway. The main 2 characters clearly have a history but it's only briefly mentioned and not really developed. They meet the heroine who happens to be their team's new assistant offensive coach. Marian has a very bad history with football players in her past and sleeping with two men is crossing a boundary, but yet they it takes them absolutely no time before they're groping each other

The rest of the book goes something the lines of this:
Something happens.
SEX
Something else happens.
SEX.
Some other stuff happens.
SEX SEX SEX.

I thought I was reading the screenplay for a porn most of the time.

Look guys,

I felt no connection to the characters or the plot. I felt like all of it was muted in the constant sex fog. I got to the point where I was skimming most of the sex scenes because honest to god, my vagina hurt for Mariam.

It had a very hot MMF threesome which I usually love, but again, I need more depth to the story to connect to it. Then that last 20% happened and....

Yeah. No.

Will I read the rest of the series? Probably not simply because I just didn't connect to any of the MCs or the secondary characters. It was all over the place for me. The writing was good, it was the story that was lacking for me. If you're looking for a super hot and smutty MMF read, this is definitely the book for you.

This was not what I expected. I don't think I'll think of football players in the same way again!

"Birmingham Rebels offensive linemen Beau Perez and Cass Zielinski are inseparable, on and off the field. Cass, the captain with the cowboy swagger, is a loose cannon. Beau, the veteran tight end, is cool under pressure. And ever since they were caught on tape in a steamy threesome, their exploits have fueled more than a few tabloid headlines—and naughty fantasies.

I've a pretty open mind and am totally turned on by a menage a trois, especially if it's M/F/M so I was intrigued as to how this story would unfold. While there's a story here, I'm not going to sugar coat it, there's A LOT of SEX in this book.

It was well written and Ms. Kane sure knows how to write an off the charts sex scene but, I must say, it felt like the sex was the story and the details and emotions of Beau, Cass and Marian was just filler.

I'd have liked more about Beau's fall into drugs and his recovery, and more about Cass's dominant yet loving ways. Cass and Beau together were hot and also sweet. Ms. Kane really captured the emotion and tension between these two. I also would have liked a bit more about how Marian was the key to the three of them working in a relationship.

If you're looking for a fast, hot and dirty read and threesomes and kinky sex excites you, this book is for you!

I'm sorry but I could not finish this book. It just did not click for me. The start was so boring and there were terms about football that are so hard to grasp. Yes there were scenes that are hot, but that's the only thing that's interesting about this book. The romance was off and so was the chemistry between the three main characters. I think it's the author's writing style that did not grab me at all.

3 "Ninety-proof Cass" Stars

Broken Play comes as my first Samantha Kane book and certainly will not be my last. This book is a smoking hot m/f/m menage tale set in Birmingham and based on a fictional football team the aptly named, Rebels. Three main characters - Cass, Beau, and Marian - navigate a new team dynamic, a strong friendship, and growing feelings between the three as they enter into a new relationship.

If you like kinky hot books don't pass this up. Samantha Kane writes steamy delicious passionate sex scenes sure to heat up your Kindle. In reading this book I felt for the characters, their pasts, and the future they were all holding out to get. The secondary characters, other team members and coaches of the Rebels played intricate, fun roles in the story as well. Lacking for me was an emotional depth to these characters. I respected and understood their plights and misgivings but I wanted more angst and grit to each of them. Cass was my favorite character, the dominant male, protector, gruff character that he was. Cass is definitely the leaders of both the on and off field packs and he's indeed the character to handle both people in his life. There's an interesting dynamic between he and Beau which proved my favorite part of the story as theirs is a "friends to lovers" type story arc.

There's no doubt Broken Play held my attention, intrigued me, and melted my Kindle. It's a fun, erotic story with great characters making it easy to sink into the world of the Birmingham Rebels. I look forward to more from Samantha Kane.

I am so bored with this book. I just couldn't finish it. Not a fan of the author's writing style. I didn't care about the characters or the plot twist. Even the steamy parts. Nah. I guess this book is not for me.

Broken Play by Samantha Kane includes all my favorite things: football; hot, hunky men; great laughs and WHITE HOT SEX! Oh my goodness! I spent half of the book literally laughing out loud and the other half wishing I wasn’t in public…hint, hint! Ladies, leave your panties at home and make sure your partners are close by! HOLY HOTNESS!

Broken Play is the story of Marian Treadwell, who becomes the newest coach of the Birmingham Rebels. The Rebels aren’t the best team in the league but with Marian’s help anything can happen. That is until Beau Perez and Cass Zielinski set their sights on her. Beau and Cass are more famous for their naughty threesome off the field than their skills on the field. Lawd, help me! Please let me be the object of their affection!

Beau and Cass are anything but stereotypical jocks. They’re smart, funny, kind and caring. They both treat Marian with the respect she deserves. Marian’s a hardcore football girl, a take no shit kind of woman who knows exactly what she wants and needs. The combination is wickedly hot, hysterically funny and makes for an absolutely amazing read! If I could give this book 10 stars I would! ~ Heather, 5...10 stars

~~~
Beau Perez and Cass Zielinski are best friends who share everything—including the women in their beds. Beau hit some bad times a few years ago and Cass helped him rise from the wreckage, but the one thing that keeps them in the spotlight besides their play on the field is their play in the bedroom—a video of a threesome they participated in that has gone viral.
Marian Treadwell is bound and determined to prove herself on the field as a football coach—she’s the Birmingham Rebels new assistant offensive coach. She’s done her research on her players and knows all about the video—and can’t get it out of her mind. She knows better than to get too close to the players, she’s learned that lesson. But is the allure of Beau and Cass too hard to resist?
I just need a moment to swoon and fan myself after finishing up the scorching hotness that is Broken Play. I need some new panties too. Damn, these football players are something else...Beau and Cass are forces to be reckoned with and Marian definitely has her hands full with dealing with their personalities and their *ahem* assets.
I couldn’t put this book down. I was immediately sucked into their world and didn’t want to escape. I loved the set up of the team and their interactions. And those final scenes... Damn, I need new panties again. ~ Missy, 5 stars
This did not work for me at all. I wanted to give up time and again and finally pulled the trigger and DNFed at 67%. For a bonk fest the sexy times didn't seem all that titillating. I'm giving this 2 stars as I think a year ago I would have responded better to it. Now I know better and have read better.
I can't help thinking the best part of this book is the cover.
As is usual in SK romances here we have 2 guys already in love with each other, who love having a women in between them. They find a woman to fall in love with who helps them find their way to each other.
I liked both the H's a lot, they were macho but total softies who were crazy about h and chased her. The h was skittish and I didn't enjoy that she would run out on the H's after every make-out session. The H's were all in and deserved better.
However her story was sad and I hated her father, what kind of parent would do that to his own daughter??! It reminds me of that John Travolta movie The General's Daughter:((
The pacing could have been improved, sometimes I felt there was too much talking, some sex scenes were too much description and less about the doing(lol!)
But on the whole a sweet n erotic menage romance, set in the NFL milieu.
At this point the team is only training, I'd like to see them in action and see how their dynamic plays out( h is assistant coach) and both the H's have something to prove.
An enjoyable 4 stars!!
The Good, The Bad and Everything In Between
The Good: Samantha Kane knows her way around some erotica. Up, down and all the way ‘round. *takes a moment, fans self* Oh my. Here, it’s all about the journeys Cass, Beau and Marian take to accepting themselves. Cass is a caveman, Beau is worthy, they do love each other in that way as well as Marian, and Marian accepts that she’s always wanted a polyamorous relationship. I love erotica and while there are feelings involved, the focal point of this story is their connections through sex. Not that there’s anything wrong with that.
Yes, sir a good old fashioned MMF menage was playing out on my kindle. And then…
description
My kindle combusted. Along with my panties. It was madness. Suffice it to say, the sex is exemplary and the setup for a series where polyandry is the name of the (football) game is something I love to read about.
...and Everything In Between: Now what’s this about a story, you ask? Well, that part was...ok. The backdrop is football, but it’s not front and center. Training, plays, all of that happens in the bits recapped between the sex scenes and I would have liked to have the game highlighted in a way that you believe the passion these guys have for something other than smokin’ hot sex.
Their obstacles (mostly concerns about judgment from others, impact on work) was resolved in a rather pat manner, and almost exclusively through the healing power of sex, rather than any incredible emotional connection. They performed their basic roles (two great male friends in denial of their feelings for each other while digging damaged heroine), with more exposition taking the place of actual emotional development. I was told they were falling in love but they felt as if they could have been in any MMF menage. Also, the fact that there is a big scene at the end where it’s not just about MMF made me feel as if this was more about the individuals than the romance.
Could I move along and get my groove on anyway? Yes. Knowing what you’re getting, which is more about their erotic journey than romance, is key. Also, I was in just the right mood for this after reading a YA fantasy, so it hit the (smutty) spot. Had the emotional matched the physical, this could have been a guaranteed touchdown.
description
I liked it. The erotica was as sexy as you’d think it would be, even if the football was more backdrop than integral. But hey, Football players and MMF menage - like crispy chocolate and chunky peanut butter. It’s a party in your mouth…nah, too easy. Anyway, if that’s your thing, I’d check it out.
Lets just say if you want a really steamin' hot football based erotic read then Broken Play is the book for you.
Beau and Cass are team mates that share everything. Marian is the new offensive coach who has seen the “press” behind Beau's and Cass's exploits and found it extremely titillating.
The major conflicts of this book come in the form of Marian questioning the ethics of engaging in a relationship(s) with the guys she coaches and what is the true nature of Beau's and Cass's relationship?
Steam factor is a 10. For those who love MMF plots, this is sure to be a crowd pleaser. For me, I give Broken Play 3.5 Stars.
Wowzers. not what I was expecting. Not at all. rtc.
I received this book from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.
My biggest complaint about this book is the way it is written. It has the feel of being a multi-pov story, but there is no clear distinction made while reading. Seriously, that is my only complaint.
Now, the story has a few main characters: Marian, Cass, and Beau. Beau and Cass have had quite the scandal in their past, but that doesn't stop them from continuing on that same path. Marian has a tough history, but that doesn't stop her from wanting both Beau and Cass.
Yep, this is one of those books and also my first foray into the MMF sub-genre of this particular genre. Cass and Beau are a package deal. Marian knows this. She is very hesitant about entering this relationship, but at the same time, this is a relationship that she desperately wants. She wants to reconcile the bad shit that has happened and she thinks Beau and Cass are the answer.
The relationship between these three is...interesting, to say the least. Umm, I guess if you have a dirty fantasy, read this. It might just fulfill it or let you know that others enjoy the same things as you do. I'm not sure. This book went from a simple threesome to so much more.
that escalated quickly photo: that escalated quickly tumblr_mfj33nutby1qhlmhzo2_500_zpsc390fb9c.gif
Yep. Super quickly. Marian needs to break some serious barriers and she wants to help her friend Danny realize that his wants and needs are not wrong. She wants to help him and Cass and Beau want to help Marian. This leads to the most interesting sex-capade I've ever read about. No details because reading it is just so much more fun!
Really. This book was not what I was expecting. I guess I expected more football and all I got was a bunch of sex. I'm not complaining, not really. I don't read romance/erotica for the sports. I read it for the sex. So, yes, this book delivers the sex. MMFMMM style.
The BIG O! Not what you're thinking, although this book had plenty of them. That O would be:
O-R-G-Y
Do I need to say more?
This wasn't your typical sports romance. Yes, there are some M/M sports romances, but this book took team bonding to a whole new level.
This story is really a sexual exploration/discovery for 3 people.
- Marian, the team's new Assistant Coach. She knows what she wants physically, but after a past scare, has been afraid to explore it further.
- Cass, the team Captain. He is no stranger to threesomes. But in the past, they were a means to an end, his orgasm. Nothing more, until Marian.
- Beau, his relationship with Cass goes beyond being teammates and BFFs. Until Marian, their deeper feelings for each other were never mentioned.
Together, these three are explosive. Marian is the key to them unleashing all of their desires.
The plot of this book was ok considering the heavy smut factor. If your looking for a book to get you off, with multiple MMF, MFM, MM situations, look no further. I'm interested to see where this series leads (no cliffy).
I'm not sure what to say about this story. I had a hard time connecting with these characters and the story itself but the steamy scenes for most of this book were really hot. They were MMF and really steamy then towards the end it just kind of lost me. What went from MMF ends up going to This book just didn't work for me and I don't think I would read anymore of the books in this series.
At times this MMF romance is definitely sexy. Some of the emotional beats feel more like explanations then moments of effective drama. The plot is often heavy handed. Some lines made me cringe. I guess I'm just happy to read about bisexual men in love with the same woman. I'll keep looking for a ménage with a bit more charm and authenticity that I can fall in love with. The best one I've found so far is Erica's Choice by Sami Lee.
Welcome to the Birmingham Rebels! The last chance saloon of football, and the red-headed step-child of the league. Marian comes to the team as the new assistant coach, and when she meets Cass and Beau, she knows these two are the ones that can fulfill her ménage fantasies.
Team captain Cass Zielinski and his best friend and teammate, Beau Perez, are an interesting duo. Sharing women as a way of being able to be intimate with one another, they both see in Marian a woman that can complete them. But getting beyond Marian’s past traumas and having her accept them both in a true relationship may be more than she is willing to give.
For the most part, I liked this story. Even though I am not that big of a sports fan, I was still able to get into the romance and enjoy the hot, sweaty, uber kinky sex that went on between this threesome. I liked getting to know many of the guys on the team, from the veteran players that are jaded with women and the game, to the newbies that are fresh out of college and ready and willing for anything. In a way, this reminded me a lot of Bianca Sommerland’s Cobra’s series, just minus the BDSM. It’s a fun look into the locker room of a pro-sport and the naughtiness between the players.
Ms. Kane’s characters are all diverse and fun. Cass, as the macho and dominant hero, is smoking, and Beau is heart-stoppingly sexy as the man who is coming out of Cass’ shadow and starting to speak up for what he wants. Watching the two of them explore their attraction for one another, not just as partners in a manage, but as lovers themselves, was enough to make me sweat. The “gay for you” theme always gets me with how sexy it can be, watching these men try and push their friendship to another level.
For all that I enjoyed this story though, I do have to admit that I found the idea of how Cass and Beau were going to cure Marion’s fears and past traumas to be a bit preposterous. And by “a bit”, I really mean “completely unrealistic”. I had to roll my eyes at this plan it was so freaking ridiculous. But like the trooper I am, I put reality aside and made it though this scene…which for all of its insanity was still melt-my-kindle hot and totally worth reading!
Overall, I enjoyed the book. It was a good introduction to a group of guys that I hope can stay as kinky and wild as they were in this story, and I look forward to more of their antics.
2-1/2 stars.
The idea for this book was a good one--female professional football coach Marian Treadwell was nearly assaulted when she was in college. Fast forward several years and she can't stay away from two players on her new misfit NFL team: Beau Perez and Cass Zielinski. Beau and Cass have an unconventional relationship to say the least. They frequently engage in menages, but up to this point haven't admitted that they actually have feelings for each other as well.
"We" --he gestured between him and Cass-- "are not lovers. We're friends and we fuck women together. That's it."
Broken Play explores what happens when Marian realizes that it's okay for her to live out her fantasy and Beau and Cass realize that they want a relationship to work with the three of them rather than a one night stand. I did like some things about this story, mainly the idea behind it and the exploration of sexuality.
"No judgment here."
There was a great backstory and I can see the characters evolving in future books in the Birmingham Rebels series.
Unfortunately, I didn't love the main characters. For as much background as we were given, I didn't feel like the actual relationship part of Beau and Cass's dynamic was explained. The fact that they were surprised to discover they had feelings for each other was fairly ridiculous in my opinion, considering that they lived together and no one could have even a conversation with one of them without the other being around. I would have given this book 3-1/2 to 4 stars though, until something happens that I thought was pretty unrealistic. I won't spoil it, but I really was surprised by that scene.
Despite the lack of character development and unrealistic outcome, Kane writes strong alpha males as well as hot scenes. I'll probably check out the future books, especially if there's one about Tom, who I really enjoyed. :)
I don't even really know where to start with this one. Okay let me start with the good things...it was hot and oh so very sexy. And that is it. For me I found this book to be kind of a hot mess. Yes it was hot and sexy but that was really all it was. Broken Play lacked substance. I found myself rolling my eyes or even skimming most of it because it just seemed so over the top and unrealistic. I wasn't the biggest fan of one of the heroes. I found Cass for lack of a better word kind of an ass. He's way too alpha for me and I just found myself skipping over his parts.
I think I would have liked this more if there was more going on besides all of the sex. Don't get me wrong, I love a sexy book but when it's sex just for the sake of sex it does nothing for me. I want to feel a connection to the characters and story and I just didn't feel that with Broken Play.
Definitely not your typical football story!! What I liked - the sex was sizzling hot and intense. Good thing because there was a lot of it! The characters were interesting. Loved Beau, Marian was ok but I did love the idea of a female football coach, Cass a bit gruff and I never really warmed up to him. What I didn't care for - I thought the characters could have been better developed. Especially the relationship between Cass & Beau. The story didn't really have any depth too it. I didn't really see much of a plot. Overall I walked away thinking that was OK and honestly will probably forget it.
Ok, I have to confess I think I am spoiled by Bianca Somemrland. Even if I am not always happy with her stories, she knwos how to write charactesr, menage relationships and sex scenes.
in this book, that was only lukewarm. I could only connect to one character: I adored Beau. But Cass and Marian were very difficult and even a bit shallow for me. Also the ending was too quick to be really satisfying. But maybe there will be a second book. we have enough interesting characters for that.
as the secondary characters really convinced me, I would love for this to turn into a series.
so all in all, 3 stars with the potential for an interesting series
Wow – this sports romance is definitely different from what I’m used to! Broken Play is a menage romance, and a CRAZY hot and kinky one at that! I actually kind of loved it – I was in the perfect mood for some hot, smutty goodness, and Broken Play certainly delivered.
Marian Treadwell has just become the new coach to the red-headed stepchild of the football league, the Birmingham Rebels. They’re the team with all the misfits, but Marian plans to whip the team up in shape to win. What she doesn’t plan on is feeling a fiery-hot chemistry with the team’s captain, Cass, and his best friend Beau. Marian has always had fantasies of taking part in a menage, so lucky for her that Cass and Beau have their sights set on her right after their first meeting.
Cass and Beau are a bit in love with each other, but the only way they have to show their love is through a woman. So threesomes are their MO, but once they meet Marian, they plan on winning her heart and keeping her for themselves. I loved how alpha and possessive Cass and Beau were around Marian, though in different ways. Cass is the dominant one with a temper, while Beau is the more sweet and charming one. They are certainly alpha-males, but it’s also so clear how much the both of them love, respect, and care about Marian.
I loved getting to know the players on the Birmingham Rebels team. I was pleasantly surprised by how funny this book was! Cass and Beau are great, but I really enjoyed learning more about their teammates, especially Tyler. His book is next, and I can’t wait for it!
And holy hell, this menage romance is H.O.T!!! Seriously, you will need a fan when you read this book. There are kinky threesomes, some yummy M/M, and even an orgy at the end. This is definitely not your typical sports romance, but if you’re open-minded and in the mood for something hot and kinky, I highly recommend this book.
SEXUAL CONTENT: M/F/M, M/M/F, M/M, + an ORGY
Hmmm...I was looking forward to reading this. Sadly, it was not for me.
Not because it was M/F/M or because the sex was bad but simply because the characters didn't inspire me in the least. Cass and Beau seemed like great guys--funny, hot and sexy. But their story felt incomplete. The author gave us the basics but not enough for me to understand how deeply their bond ran or for me to accept how easily they came to accept their feelings for each other. Especially taking into consideration that they were inseparable. To me, it felt more convenient than true love. A little less inner rambling and a bit more backstory and I think it would have been a different experience for me.
I liked Marian. She had been hurt in the past and was trying to move on with her life. Even when she was feeling a bit weary around the football players, she still showed great determination to not let it affect her. I liked that side of her. However, that admiration was wiped out by that last scene. I just could not picture it--healing powers or not.
In any case, I found that there wasn't enough dialog or opportunity for a connection to develop for me to be convinced that this could evolve into any type of meaningful relationship. Yes, there was chemistry between the three. Yes, the sex was hot. But no, I wasn't enough for me to enjoy this story as much as I hoped.
As a first in a series, Broken Play was a hot read and served to introduce the players and some of their personalities. Not enough to leave a lasting impression on me, but I was intrigued about them nonetheless.
I have to admit that I played the part of cover whore for this book... I grabbed it and didn't even read the blurb. So I was a bit surprised when I realized it was going to be romantica with a bunch of hunky football players... en masse so to speak! Holy Moley! This book was so hot I think my kindle was smoking.
Cass, the team captain of Birmingham Rebels, is a take charge country boy complete with cowboy hat. He likes to be in control no matter whether he is on the field, in the locker room, in the coach's office, or in the bedroom. He's just that guy. Beau is a big tattooed teddy bear, the calm to Cass' storm. When Beau's addictions run away from him, Cass gets him clean and shows him how to shift his focus to women... well, a woman sandwich so to speak. And that lucky bitch Marian comes along and grabs the focus of both of these mmmen.
There was not a ton of plot here... we got some football drama, and a bit of a tortured heroine in Marian. But this book was more about the sizzling sinful smmmexytime. We also got good introductions to the rest of the team which will be the focus on the series. But goodness, that is a lot of beefcake kinkery going on there. Phew! This is definitely a book for mature audiences who don't mind MFM, MMF, and even some MMFMM. You definitely don't want to read this one in public. I think I maintained a blush the whole time I was reading!
I received an advanced copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. 4 stars / 5 flames.
Copy graciously provided by the author, through Net Galley.
4 Intense, Sexyyyy STARS!!
I requested this early afternoon June 11. Was approved. I DEVOURED it the same day!!!!
If it is a Samantha Kane book, you KNOW that you are in for an exciting, sexy, and heart-felt Journey. I was looking through my Kindle and realized I have a ton of her books, and have loved every.single.one. She has a style that you can relate to, so realistic. I love getting lost in her love stories!!
Cass, Beau and Marian.... I have been smiling since I finished this story. It gets you in the heart and it will tug at it, for a bit! Samantha Kane gives us realistic stories that you can relate to. She gets it, and she gives it to us with her heart-felt words and lovable, intense, passionate, strong, yet vulnerable at the same time, characters. The way she handled a particular subject, was amazing. I smiled through tears at a couple parts. I smiled (and fanned myself at the same time!) at one part in particular, that she handled brilliantly, that some might scoff at, but it HAD to be in the book!!!!! Her words will captivate you, and take you on a Journey that you won't realize until you get to the end, and you will want MORE!!
I am so glad this is a series, can't wait to read more about the Rebels Football Team. Some damn sexy players introduced in this book!!!!!
Cass and Beau come as a package deal. Everyone knows that. What they don't know was that Cass and Beau have never admitted their feelings to one another. Marian comes in as an assistant coach and changes everything.
Marian has a past she chooses to hide. Both for safety and for personal reasons. She is afraid to admit she is attracted to both Cass and Beau, since she should not get involved with players. There is no written rule, but until recently - there were no women coaches.
Cass has been attracted to Beau for as long as he can remember. He has been afraid to act on the attraction for fear he would lose the tight friendship they have together. He likes being the strong one, that Beau relies upon.
Beau has been in love with Cass for so long. He truly wants things to change but is not sure how to do anything about it. Marian comes along and makes him feel strong and capable.
All three have to learn how to trust again if any kind of relationship between them is going to work. Can they help ease the pain of he past? Is is possible to overcome you fear?
I thought this book was amazing. It showed friendship, trust, and strength. I found the characters and banter loving and fun!
I have to confess that this book wasn’t really what I expected and because of that, it was hard for me to know how to rate the book.
Broken Play focuses on Marian, an assistant coach for a newer NFL team, and two players Cass and Beau. The three of them end up forming a unique relationship while also trying to get the team to gel at minicamp. I liked the premise of the book. The idea of a female assistant coach in the NFL is a cool one and her falling in love with not one, but two players on her team pushes the boundaries.
The sexy times between Marian, Cass, and Beau and incredibly hot, but it seems like things move almost too quickly between them. It also seemed like once the three main characters began their sexual relationship, the plot development of the story took a back seat.
I feel like this book had potential to be really good, but the story got side tracked by the sexy time.
I had a really hard time getting into the story. I didn't see much of anything going on other then sex. Beau and Cass realize after 3 years that they love one another and it's all because of Marian because she just brings it out of them.
I also had a issue trying to picture these characters but on the long run I just couldn't. Some parts I did actually skim over but the scenes were hot and these men talk dirty.
Marian was almost raped and her friend saved her years ago so she is learning to trust these two football players. I didn't like Cass. I thought he was way to caveman for me and he seemed like he had no patience and a bad temper when he didn't get his way. Beau was sweet but he seemed like Cass's bitch lol.
I am hoping the next book in the series will be better and have more of a story that will keep me interested. I can't wait to see who the next book will be about since a lot of players were introduced.
