Short, addictive story. Well written but left me wanting more. I felt it was half a story.... unfinished. Good characters but felt it could have done with a longer and stronger storyline.
Nothing to call home about. I read it because I saw a very good review of North of Boston and then found out that this short novel is a prequel (horrible invention of a name) of the former. Well, it reads nice, it's short and this is about everything. Now I have to decide whether to buy the aforementioned novel... Maybe I'll do it, quand-même.
This short story is a nice way to get introduced to the character of Pirio Kasparov. A resourceful teenager stuck in a New England Boarding school, where she's known to be a fixer of problems. Pirio comes across as a sensible and smart YA heroine, the main character of Elisabeth Elo's debut novel North of Boston. I might just try that one out.
