The Nightfire Quartet #3

Storm of Ink and Blood

Rate this book
Dark magic courses through Zarya’s veins—magic that could save countless lives… or doom her world.

Shattered by Rabin’s betrayal, Zarya vows to leave all thoughts of him behind. In the dangerous city of Ishaan, she joins an ancient struggle for freedom.

Ishaan is a city of violent contrasts. Nobles and scholars live in golden luxury. But thousands of vanshaj workers are born into magical slavery—in punishment for a crime forgotten centuries ago.

Zarya is outraged, and certain that the fate of the vanshaj is linked to her own forbidden magic. She joins a band of rebels battling for their freedom, and with Yasen at her side she throws herself into the fight.

On a deadly raid, Zarya uncovers the key to freeing the vanshaj for ever. But to use it, she must harness a power that could tear her apart.

Only one person can give Zarya the strength to reach her destiny. The one who ignited her magic. Who brings her more pleasure and more pain than any other. The last person she wants to see right now. Rabin.

With searing chemistry, a stunning world, and heart-racing action, The Nightfire Quartet is a fast-paced and addictive fantasy romance that’s perfect for fans of Sarah J. Maas, Carissa Broadbent, and Rebecca Yarros. If you love slow-burning passion and razor-sharp banter, dive in to discover your new fantasy obsession.

"He would have done anything for her in that moment. Torn apart mountains and worlds. Climbed to the moon if she asked. She was his purpose. His destiny."

OH HOW WE'VE BEEN FED IN THIS ONE!!

We got the most relationship development by far in Storm of Ink and Blood, Zarya and Rabin went from her not trusting him, to slowly rebuilding that trust, to being lovers (again), to something even more and then something I wasn't expecting, but it makes perfect sense for them.

Rabin isn't hiding his feelings for Zarya AT ALL, he's completely devoted to her, mind body and soul. It's so refreshing to see.

Like, if anyone went to the school of grovelling, Rabin did. He really made up for his mistakes. Which is not to say that I think their decision to go where they're gonna go at the end of the book is correct, by the way, just putting that out there.

Also, I love how, for him, there was no one else while they were apart, it just proves he's so down bad for her. He's come a looong way from the start of the series and he's almost (but not quite) sharing Yasen's spot on my faves list.

Zarya meanwhile, developed her powers and is so much more confident using them. I also like how Rabin doesn't just encourage her, but helps her along the way (in more ways than one).

I love that she's finally properly embracing her destiny, and that we're taking this journey with her step by step. I may or may not have cried as the prophecy was coming true.

And Yasen, my fav fav favvvvv character, the apple of my eye, my sugar plum, sweetie pie, HAS FOUND A SPECIAL SOMEONE, WE CHEER!!! I wasn't expecting it, but the pairing is perfect.

In every single book, Yasen's friendship with Zarya is the highlight of my reading experience and this one is no different, the way they joke around and care for each other warms my heart.

Because of everything that happened here, I'm expecting an epic battle in the final book, and I'm already telling you, I don't trust You Know Who. Absolutely not. I'm open to being proven wrong, but...we'll see.

And you know, it's not just this series that keeps getting better, but Nisha J. Tuli's writing also. With every single book, she blows me away. This series is now my favourite by her, and if you know me, then you know Cursed Captors, more specifically Wicked is the Reaper, was hard to beat. AND YET.

So if you haven't started The Nightfire Quartet yet, please do. The final book will be out before you know it, and until then, you can enjoy the lovely cliffhanger Nisha left us with.

P. S. That glossary at the beginning? So funny!

P. P. S. I'm really hoping that one line about x character being the death of a different character was just a figure of speech and not foreshadowing.

*Thank you to the publishers and Netgalley for providing me with a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review*

my favorite part of this Very Important Time Sensitive Rebellion is when she allows herself to be whisked away for three days for sexy time at a fairytale mansion and then comes back acting as if that’s like, a normal thing to do

Wow, what a whirlwind of events and emotions in this books! Nisha, you definitely know how to keep us wanting more and that ending!!! I'm going to need a release date for the next book like yesterday!

This is my favorite of the series so far and I love the character growth we've seen from all of our main characters, especially Zarya! I'm so in love with Rabin and love how soft he is for Zarya, even when she was unsure of how to feel towards him. The steamy moments in this book are so delicious!! I honestly couldn't love a group of people more than I do with Zarya and her crew. They are the epitome of the found family trope and will ride or die for each other.

What to expect:
-Enemies to lovers to enemies to...
-Found family
-Unique magic
-Slow burn to spicy romance
-Fated something...
-Touch her and die

Set to release on October 4th and is a must read if you are a fantasy lover! Nisha always amazes me with her books!

Thank you so much to Nisha J. Tuli and her team for allowing me to read and review an ARC of this book in exchange for my honest opinion!

A great continuation to the series!
The world building of this series is so great: from the tree/queen to the magic and the bonding aspect.. and I loved the author’s humor in the first pages, it got me cackling!!!

Zarya is much more independent in this book, working towards a goal and she had much growth in this book. Rabin too is coming to terms with his feelings and emotions, their relationship coming out stronger.

I loved how Zarya learned a lot more about her magic and how to use it instead of being afraid of it.
I really can’t wait for the final book to come out!!

Storm of Ink and Blood is the third installment of the Nightfire Quartet, following Zarya on her journey from basically a captive in a small area growing up mostly alone with her adoptive father to the chosen one who will save them all.  I want to thank Nasha J Tuli for the fun glossary introduction cast of characters review. It did great at getting the reader back up to speed with who all the important characters are and a little snippet of their part in our story.

Zarya is basically hiding from Rabin in the city of Ishaan with Yasen.  They may have went there with the intention of Zarya introducing herself to her half siblings, the Prince and Princess, but after arriving in the city it was clear that Vanshaj are treated really poorly and Zarya end up supporting the revolution in the city aiming to free them.  Yasen is of course eager to help Zarya in this new adventure and is having a great time in a new city away from the expectations of his family.  But we, the reader, know that the magical bond Zarya and Rabin share is going to mean they will have to work out their issues soon.

Zarya needs to learn more about her secret six anchor if she is ever going to be able to help the Vanshaj.  The thing is she has a lack of control on her own.  This could be due to focus as she is still fixated on Rabin or just on the time she has had with learning how to use her powers.  Rabin has spent his time wisely though after returning to Andhera and Zarya's fathers court.  He is learning more about the bond and how to control the dreamscape they can enter together.  I was the most interested in this part of the story since Zarya's father is a bit of the unknown and Rabin seems to trust him but the prophecy Zarya is in the middle of seems to indicate he will kill her and steal her magic.  There are some pretty big hints in this that Raja (Zarya's father), isn't really a good person and probably has done some pretty horrendous things but we will see how that all plays out in the next book  I have some theories though from the hints dropped.

The romance and communication between Zarya and Rabin was at the forefront of the story and got a lot of time.  My issue with the last book revolved around a miscommunication and Zayra's overinflated (in my opinion) reaction to it.  But that said, I was happy to see how their relationship progressed in Storm of Ink and Blood.  Zarya is growing to trust herself more and more and because of that, she will give Rabin the benefit of the doubt.  Rabin also does a great job of just expressing how he is feeling and never leaves Zarya in any doubt of his intension or wants.  I liked that he was so honest with her.
"I love you. The more I'm with you, the more I love you. I want a name for us. I want to be the world to one another, and I want everyone to know it."

We didn't get a lot of time with the darkness that has been leaking into the realm and the demons that come from it.  I do hope in the next book of the series this is explored more and we get some answers on that.  I also would have loved to see Amrita, but she is busy being a tree and we get a small cameo of Vikram being grumpy and controlling.  Hopefully that arc will sus out a bit more in the next book.

I am looking forward to seeing the wrap of of the series in the final book.  I have a few theories about Rabin's tatoo of a dragon, the bond between him and Zarya, Amrita and her tree transformation and the world in general.  There are a lot of things to get some closure on and so it should be a wild ride to get to the end.  Just happy that Rabin, Yasen and Zarya seem to be going into it all together.

Narration:
The nice thing about Shiromi Arserio as the narrator is I think she captures the feel of Asian culture in this.  Her pronunciations and diction are fantastic for all of the worlds that source from Asian/Indian lore.  She did well with all character voices and making them seem distinct and easy to tell who was speaking.  My only complaint is really that I perfect multiple narrators if there are different PoVs but Shiromi did very well with both PoVs and capturing the different voice and feel of each.  I was able to listen to this at my usual 1.5x speed.

Thank you Second Sky Books and NetGalley for the gifted review copy!

In true Nisha J. Tuli style, she never fails to serve with her books! I was honoured to receive an ARC for SOIAB in exchange for an honest review.

Storm of Ink and Blood is the third book in the captivating Nightfire Quartet Series.

This book takes a completely different turn than the first two books. Were plunged into a new setting and a new motive where our beloved FMC Zarya, shows so much of her character development changed from the first book. We get to see how well developed character Zarya is and how she deals with everything with her new perspectives.

The book takes place in Ishaan, the home of Zarya's half-siblings in Gi'ana. We get to explore a lot more about the secrets that were hidden in the previous books and get to see amazing new characters.

The book is a rollercoaster of emotions. The way the emotions are portrayed is magnificent --- even for the side and new characters.

We are grovelling, explanations, secrets and plot throughout the book and the title is so true to the book.

The book hands down my favourite in the series. The world is so beautiful and different that you don't want to leave. I finished my ARC in less than four hours. There's healing that happens in the story in the background that is so refreshing and healing for our hearts too. The Indian lore and fantasy themes in the story are so point on and gives a wonderful representation to the culture.

Overall, you can expect an action packed, emotional and romance filled read. You're going to be down for an adventure with this one.

Thank you to NetGalley for providing me with an ARC.

I don't know why I put off reading this out of fear that I wouldn't remember what happened in the previous book. Nisha gives the best who's who at the beginning of the book and the first few chapters made it so easy to slip back into this world!

I am fully invested in Zarya at this point and cannot wait to see how her story continues in the finale of this quartet. This world is so easy to read with some fantastic characters to love. It's a fast paced read throughout, no chapter feels like it shouldn't be there.

I've be sad to see this quartet end but cannot wait to find out what happens in the conclusion!

Nisha never disappoints me. We continue Zarya’s story as she discovers more about her past and her powers. She also works with bestie Yasan (we love) to basically start a revolution. Can still trust Rabin after book 2…. 🤷‍♀️ but their steamy romance is perfection.

Book: Storm of Ink and Blood (ARC)
Author: Nisha J. Tuli
Genre: Romantasy
Rating:⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Spice: 🌶️🌶️

"I would have waited until the sun burned out of the sky, Spitfire.

Oh god, I LOVE THIS SERIES. I love all of Nisha's work, but man, THIS SERIES!! I have arc read all of Nisha's books, and its been truly amazing to see the spectacular books she puts out.

Tropes include
- Groveling
- found family
- Touch her and Die
- Dragon Shifter
- Enemies to lovers to enemies
- chosen one
- prophecy

and some spoilery spicy tropes
-

After Rabins' betrayal, Zarya and Yasen head to Zarya's mothers kindgom, and join a rebellion against the royals, who have been in charge of supressing magic through neck tats.

This book has a ton of action, and its nice to see Zarya absoultley come into herself while being seperated from Rabin, and doing things for HERSELF, while attempting to fulfil a prophecy.

Rabin, also has huge character growth and constantly puts Zarya before himself, and I just love this for them. He is constantly challenging her, and call's her out when its needed. He shows Zarya such a beautiful, sweet soft side of him that we haven't experienced yet. Is he a cinnamon roll under all those abs? The spice, is fantastic, as always.

Yasen, is my second-favorite side character. I love him and Zarya's friendship - absolute platonic bestie soulmates, I could read about them forever.

I can't wait to see how this quartet will end, theres a lot of unanswered questions and people Z still needs to meet - so I am interested to see how that goes down.

This book is out today, October 4th and an absolute MUST for any romantasy babe.

Thanks so much to Nisha, Second Sky Books and Netgalley for the ARC, always an absolute honor.

this might be my favorite book out of the series yet. nisha u have never failed me and i love u for that. tbh this was even better than the previous book, even more fast paced, it felt a little filler-y but i devoured every single detail of it, seeing zarya discovering her magic n full potential was literally everything esp knowing that she was very powerless before, i love how this book really shows how far she has come since the first book. rabinzarya's romance had me by the throat theres something about intertwined lovers that will always get me and nisha knew what she was doing and rabinzarya just served it so well. Also yasen my glorious king u will always be loved, his and zarya's friendship just keeps getting better and better every time and i live for it. my absolute favorite platonic soulmates. And im so glad yasen has His person now even tho hes in denial and thinks theyre just messing around but ive seen this before :) also rabin growling was one of my favorite things they dont do #real growling like this anymore. the last bit of the book was so nerve racking i was literally on edge the entire time, im very satisfied with the ending although that last silly cliffhanger made me sigh a little but i genuinely cant wait for zarya to meet yk who for the first time ever in the next book, it should be interesting. i settled on giving this a 4.25 stars i really enjoyed it and cant wait for the next one

thank you so much nisha, second sky and her team for sending me this arc

I am incredibly willing to put my life on the line to be Rabin's pretty girl, okay?

God. Where to even start with this review? Nisha J Tuli's writing gets better and better and this book truly blew me away. I wish I had the sort of willpower where I wouldn't have devoured this in mere hours, but unfortunately it's over now and I will be deeply distraught until the final installment is in my greedy little hands.

"I love you. The more I'm with you, the more I love you. I want a name for us. I want to be the world to one another, and I want everyone to know it."

HE IS SO SWEET, I SWEAR. I need more. Immediately. I don't want to hint at ANY of what happens in this book because I want to leave you all the spoiler-free space to be giggling and shrieking "AW" and kicking your feet like I was. But please know that I love this book immensely and that I was captivated start to finish. Nisha upped the spice-ante and somehow maintained the incredibly precious feel of their love story simultaneously. She continued building on this exceptional, rich world's lore and had it follow in its siblings' footsteps as a beautifully unique fantasy. It's well balanced and absolutely everything I look for in a romantasy.

Five stars. No notes.

Thank you SO much to Nisha J Tuli, Second Sky, and Netgalley for the advanced copy of this book to review. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

Review: Storm of Ink and Blood (The Nightfire Quartet, book 3)
Release date: October 4, 2024

“She was the sunshine to his storm. The perfect ray of light piercing through the layers of darkness.”

“𝙎𝙝𝙚 𝙬𝙖𝙨 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙨𝙪𝙣𝙨𝙝𝙞𝙣𝙚 𝙩𝙤 𝙝𝙞𝙨 𝙨𝙩𝙤𝙧𝙢. 𝙏𝙝𝙚 𝙥𝙚𝙧𝙛𝙚𝙘𝙩 𝙧𝙖𝙮 𝙤𝙛 𝙡𝙞𝙜𝙝𝙩 𝙥𝙞𝙚𝙧𝙘𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙩𝙝𝙧𝙤𝙪𝙜𝙝 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙡𝙖𝙮𝙚𝙧𝙨 𝙤𝙛 𝙙𝙖𝙧𝙠𝙣𝙚𝙨𝙨.”

TLDR: Fantasy lovers, pick up this series, starting with the Heart of Night and Fire. You won’t regret adding it to your TBR!

Rating: 4/5
Spice level: 3/5

Plot: What an amazing, action-filled book! It was a great third book. It’s so common for middle books to feel like fillers for the finale, but it didn’t feel that way at all. The story, the discoveries, the secrets continued and were engaging till the last page. Another great thing about this one is that, removing the romance, the story still stands strong. It’s clear that the romance is a supporting part of the FMC’s development as she figures out who she is and what she stands for.

Characters: Nisha writes bad-ass FMCs and Zarya is no exception. She is strong-willed, funny, a great friend, occasionally impulsive, and I love it. She really digs into herself in this book, doing everything she can to help others. I can’t wait to see what she does in the next book.

The MMC is so smitten, it was heart-wrenching to read. He clearly will do anything he can to help Zarya. I appreciated getting to see a bit more of his life in this one, it provided a better understanding for us readers to see why he did what he did in the last book.

Spice: The spice in this one is GOOD. It is explicit, open door (in case that makes some uncomfortable), but the book has a tasteful amount, and as usual with Nisha, it is well-written.

Cons: Very few. There were some characters that I would’ve liked to see more of, but that may be coming in the next book!

Highly recommend adding this series to your ever-growing list of fantasy reads. I can’t wait for it to be released on October 4th! Thank you to Nisha and Second Sky for providing me with an ARC, it was such an honour.

Many thanks to the author and BookFunnel for an ARC of this book. All opinions are my own.

This book was finished in 48 hours. Namely because Nisha left us hanging by a thread after the last book, and then because every chapter in this one did the same. These were my favorite very underrated tropes:

✅ Dragon shifter MMC
✅ THE BEST BFF relationship rivaled only by the Inner Circle
✅ Indian lore and fantasy
✅ A hilarious glossary of characters, places and objects at the start of the book
✅ Healing parental relationships
✅ Touch her and die 100,000 painful deaths
✅ Did I mention Rabin is a frigging dragon?

Okay...so back to the review. Zarya is now on a mission to save the world. Rabin is on a mission to save his relationship, and Yasen is well...still the best thing about this series.

SOIAB managed to pack a hefty punch with world-saving, grovelling (we could have used a little more grovelling if I'm being honest, but there was humanity to save I guess), getting mercilessly teased by your best friend (everyone deserves a Yasen in their life), and a whole lot of confusion about what family truly means and the people we chose vs. the people we're born into.

This series is hands down my favorite of this author. The world is beautiful and lively and full of colorful characters and fantastical creatures. The relationships are endearing and bittersweet. The romance actually may be the least interesting thing about this series but that's not a bad thing.
Rabin is hot (the man's a dragon) and bossy and wants what he wants. Zarya really has come a long way and owns her power and destiny. She's just as stubborn as Rabin. The push and pull is enjoyable to read, but the book was so much bigger than their relationship. I was rooting for everyone in the circle to be free to have their own happy endings.

All in all, this was fantastic third book. If you're looking for a different kind of romantasy with all types of mythical creatures and magic, do not sleep on the Nightfire Quartet.

I wish I could give this book more stars than 5! Thank you Second Sky books for gifting me an ARC.

This book was a perfect lead up to a finale. It was so well written and entertaining and had me on the edge of my seat while still building up to that conclusion that is going to come with book 4.

Storm of Ink and Blood was one of my most anticipated reads of the year and it did not disappoint. The tension and the chemistry between these characters is unmatched and I am invested in every singe character in this book. This is book three in the Nightfire quartet and every book in this series gets better and better.

Zarya is one of my favorite FMCs that I've read. In this book she grows even more and really starts to come into her power. Her character development in this book has me so excited to see what is going to happen in book 4! Yassen is still one of my favorite characters from any story ever and still steals the spotlight in every scene he is in. We get a lot from the characters we already know and love in this story, but Nisha was able to seamlessly add in a bunch of new characters that were are so well written and fit into this story beautifully (Miraan, Ajay are so much fun and I am invested).

I loved learning more about Rabin and getting an insight into his life prior to this story starting. I am really curious to see what is going to happen with him.

This book was full of twists and turns and was honestly the best addition to this series. I am so excited for the fourth and final book in this series.

I was offered the opportunity to read this ARC and give my honest review.

I love Nisha's writing. She has become one of my favorite authors, creating vibrant worlds with strong and imperfect MFCs with lovely supporting casts. Storm of Ink and Blood was no different.

I loved the first two books in this series. If you haven't read them, I implore you to read them first. They are exciting and unique, which is not easy to find.

The contrast of light and dark makes for a dynamic visual landscape, the world very real in my mind.

There is a LOT of magic if it's your bag. My favorite use of it is the melding with tattoos. Absolutely magnificent.

The love story feels very erratic at times, but the spice deserves an A+.

Zarya herself still feels like she's coming of age, growing into who she is, her naivete and stubbornness creating consistent problems that she's forced to overcome and suffer the consequences for. I'm looking forward to seeing how she grows in the final book!

The only negative point I have is small. Every. Single. Plan. they had failed poorly and disastrously. They need a win every now again. It got to the point where I face palmed. It didn't ruin the story, but it did take me out of it.

I loved this book. I can't wait for the final book. I need to know if my suspicion about her father are true and dying to see how he reacts whenever they return. This was a slam dunk.

What a stunning return to a series that has grown incredibly close to my heart. Storm of Ink and Blood takes us straight back into the action, where we now see Zarya dealing with the events of book 2, especially Rabin's betrayal. This book is full of adventure and honestly, the pacing is pretty damn good; like once the action starts, it doesn't stop at all. Within the pages of this book we see Zarya fully embrace who she is and what her destiny might be and that journey was really incredible to experience. I loved that we get Rabin's POV and see him be obsessed with Zarya; seriously, he is so in love and so unabashedly honest and open about it, it is amazing to see.

One thing that I really liked was seeing how reluctant Zarya was to let Rabin in at first, and not relenting even though that's what her heart wants. The progression of their relationship in this book was full of emotions and alongside the plot, that was my favourite thing. And the spice, let me just say...it is spicy af. And I freaking love it.

Something that I am eager to see in the next book - what are Raja Abhishek's motives? As much as I want to like him, there is just something about him that is keeping me on edge and I have a feeling the next book will tell me why. All in all, this was such a great read and I cannot wait for the next book in the series!!

Thank you Second Sky Books for the e-ARC!

If you are looking into reading Nisha's books, just know, that no book in any of her series fails to hit the mark. Each book keeps building and building on each other and you will struggle to decide which one is your favorite.

I love the representation in this series, how she so effortlessly combined facets of fantasy in Indian culture. This has been going on through out the series but it is still as strong now as it was in book one. The growth in Zarya is so great to see, she is becoming more and more confident in herself and her place in this world. No longer the "Swamp Girl" Yasen so affectionately calls her. Their found family dynamic is also adorable and I am so glad they have each other.

Can we all give some applause for the simp that is Rabin? he is so obsessed with Zarya that I am obsessed with him. The steamy moments are fully steamy, and Rabin's dedication to proving himself and his place in her world is unmatched. Top level book boyfriend material for sure.

With another surprising ending, I cannot wait for the conclusion to this series. Like seriously, can I have it now? is now good? I don't know if I can wait to see where this has all been building to.

Thank you Nisha J. Tuli, her team and those at Forever for sending me an ARC in exchange for my honest review. Please keep sending me more of her.

The third instalment in the Nightfire 🔥Quartet Series is full of magic ✨ light and dark. The world 🌍 and plot is expanded perfectly giving readers everything they could need from a dark romantasy ❤️ series. I absolutely loved the new setting, which is vivid and inspired by Indian lore.
There’s an ancient struggle for freedom and societal injustice. Our FMC (Zarya) joins a band of rebels and takes part in their deadly raids. Creating one of the best found families out there. If you want banter and wit, look here.
The sheer character growth of Zarya from this once sheltered creature to a badass magical freedom fighter is amazing.
I also cannot not mention the romance ❤️‍🔥, it’s intense, intertwined, complicated and at times spicy 🌶️. I don’t want to say too much due to spoilers but the MMC is definitely up there in my top ten.
Although, readers beware, there’s a cliffhanger at the end! I absolutely cannot wait for the next book. I know there is so much more to come.
Read this series if you like high stakes action, romantasy, good banter, unique magic and found family. Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for an ARC. This is a voluntary review of my own thoughts.

This is the third book in the “Nightfire Quartet”.

I binged the first 2 books this week and loved the world building, magic, supernatural creatures, the found family and action.
The characters are diverse and complex.

In this book we can see Zarya’s development as a character and her magic is more powerful. I also love the friendship between her and Yasen, the way he supports her but also tell her when he thinks she is wrong.

The relationship with Rabin also developed after the betrayal from the last book. I like that he made him wait, but he needed to grovel more. The tension between them was a bit too much sometimes as any interaction made them want to go to bed and that felt a bit too intense. But I like that he is obsessed with her and is willing to do anything to protect her.

The pace is fast and there is a lot of action. There are also new characters and places. The ending has a cliffhanger and I am looking forward to the next book.

I listened to all three books and I have to say that the narrator did a good job.

I received a complimentary copy of the audiobook from Netgalley. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.

I loved this book. It took me some time to read it bc I didn’t want it to end. Granted there’s still a 4th book but still. Thank you so much Nisha for giving me this ARC.

First I want to say, Nisha def knows how to write heartbreak, tension, the whole will-she-forgive-him-or-let-him-stir-in-his-feelings thing well. I felt Zarya pain in her heart break but also how she couldn’t NOT want to be with Rabin. That tension was for real, and Nisha are you ok? Who hurt you? For real.

I love, LOVE the platonic soul mate relationship between Yasen And Zarya bc it proves ppl can be friends with the opposite sex and get their person like that too. Also, I just love Yasen hands down so much! He easily became my favorite and I’m so glad for their relationship. They helped each other grow. And I’m glad she hasn’t stopped being so close to him after she found Rabin.

The politics in this book was amazing. I loved learning more about the decisions and the reasoning and I loved how everything changes at once too. It was spectacular.

I always say this, but THIS book was my favorite so far in the series! I can always trust Nisha to deliver! This series somehow gets better with each book! I’ve loved watching all the characters develop and grow, especially Zarya! She is my girl! I love her confidence and her strong love for the people she cares about.

And Rabin, my dragon shifter man. 😍 I love him so much. He’s a secret softie, but only when it comes to Zarya. I love how obsessed he is with her. Literally so perfect. This book had me giggling and kicking my feet. And the spice in this one was so 😮‍💨 I need more Rabin IMMEDIATELY!

Something else I love about this series is the bond between Zarya and Yasen. They are the definition of a ride or die friendship. I love their conversations with each other so much. Everyone needs a Yasen in their life!

I am so excited for the conclusion to this series. Book three constantly had me at the edge of my seat, so I can only imagine what book four has in store for us.

Thank you so much to Nisha, Second Sky books, and Netgalley for a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

‘Family wasn't always the people who bore you. And it certainly wasn't the ones who acted like vicious tyrants killing innocent souls in a bid to cling to their power.’ - Page 308

The third book in The Nightfire Quartet was amazing! There were newly created dynamics between characters that hinged off of the last book’s cliffhanger, and a ton of new and important people in the series that didn’t take away but instead, enhanced the story. I liked how the spice wasn’t strictly spice. It was just enough kick but you could still palate the scenes as more than just smut, but actually relationship building. The main characters and shifting POVs were fun, especially when they were separated and wanting different things.

The few areas I wanted more from were the battle scenes (love a well-developed battle) that lacked some substance and the dialogue and fight between the main characters, which I felt could have been a little more drawn out.

Overall, I am 100% sure tears will spring to my eyes when the next book is in my hands. Obsessed with this series.

Zarya and Yasen are off in her family's kingdom and have managed to get involved with a group of rebels. She learns more ways that her powers can be of use. Rabiv goes on a very necessary apology tour, and they figure out more about their relationship. The drama hits near the end, and things are set up further for the final installment, which will involve both sides of her family and her role in the prophecy.

This series has gotten increasingly better with each installment. Book 3 adds a Rabiv POV. I'm always a fan of a dual POV; characters can not know what other's motives are, but I certainly like to. I think this was a good call after the ending of book 2 made Zarya feel like he had betrayed her. We needed proof that he was on the up and up. I'll be waiting for book 4!

Thanks to Nisha, Second Sky, and NetGalley for an eARC of this book for an honest review.

Addition for audiobook:

The quality of the audiobook was great. It is comprised of only one narrator despite there being more than one POV, but she does a great job of differentiating between characters without trying too hard to sound masculine, which can take me out of an audio. She speaks clearly, and I was able to speed up the audio substantially without it becoming hard to follow.

Thanks to Dreamscape Select and NetGalley for an ALC of this book for an honest review.

Thank you netgally and Nisha J. Tuli for giving me the opportunity to read this ARC.
As it continues from the previous book, we can see zarya still feels betrayed and heartbroken by Rabin. But she follows a new adventure of finding new people and freedom and finding herself back to someone she loves.
I am in awe of this book and its world building. The characters and their powers Rabin and zarya still have this wonderful chemistry. There were some scenes that were so good like🔥🔥🔥

Also I can't believe that both got married despite the bond . They finished the bond tying ceremony and omg. and zarya has half siblings 😭 such a roller-coaster book it was. So many risky things zarya did but it was such a wonderful book.

Can't wait for the next part of the book. And I can't wait for more zarya and Rabin adventures. ❤️ highly recommend this book series.

Talk about a build up to the finale!! I continue to find this world so immersive and the magic system so unique and interesting.

I feel like we still don’t even know just what Zarya is fully capable of and book 4 is going to bananas. I can just feel it.

But Nisha!! Whyyyy do I feel like I still don’t know who I can trust!? The self-preservation of just feeling like I can’t get too attached yet! Gah. I hope I’m wrong.

Side note- I will hear no slander against Yas. He is my absolute favorite, hands down. Zarya and Yas are friendship goals 🙌🏼

Thank you to the author and her team for this advanced copy!

Nisha J. Tuli's third book in the Nightfire Quartet had me on the edge of my seat. The action, the characters, the spice - this book hits just right. Anyone who hasn't picked up this series is missing out!

I loved getting to see the amazing growth from Zarya. She goes from this very sheltered girl in Book 1 to this fierce warrior over the course of her journey -- this book truly shows how far she has come. The book opens with her aiding a group of rebels opening to the challenge the hierarchy and regime of the monarchy. Through the course of this adventure, she also starts mastering her six anchors even more. I loved seeing her grown in a magic wielding badass. She is just such a fun FMC to follow.

I also loving where this story is going -- Nisha has been slowly expanding the story over three books and it took some turns I did not expect. I am excited to see where this adventure goes next in the final book in the quartet.

I also loved that Yasen went on this journey with his "second best friend" -- their relationship is one of my favorites. He challenges her, but is also supportive of her in all the ways. Their found family connection makes my heart happy in many ways. I also loved the return of other characters including Row, as well as the appearance of new characters -- including a new person on the scene by the end of the book (I don't wanna spoil it!).
And then there is Rabin. Zarya and Rabin sizzle on the page. I can't help but fall a little more for Rabin -- the confidence, the steadfastness, and the mouth on that man (whew)! I loved seeing their relationship finally hit a new point. I am excited to see them strengthen even more as a couple over the final book, because I feel like Nisha has some surprises in store for them.

The book ends on a brutal, but inevitable cliffhanger (it had to happen). I can't wait to see how all these stories collide in the next book! Definitely add this series to your list.

Thank you to the author, Second Sky, and NetGalley for the ARC!
