Rate this book
When a blood rose enters Mastyr Ethan’s world, will he succumb to his deepest needs or lose her forever to an enemy intent on possessing her at all costs?

He desperately needs his blood rose…

Ethan, mastyr vampire of the Bergisson Realm, never thought to find his blood rose, the one woman who could ease the blood-starvation he’s endured for decades. But Samantha carries a surprising level of power as her newly discovered fae heritage emerges and she connects with his personal realm frequency, a vibration that ignites his passion. His commitment to ruling Bergisson, however, has priority, even over his driving need to be with Samantha. As desire rises, and Ethan finds himself drawn into the web of his driving, relentless need for her, will he be able to embrace his blood rose or will his guilt over past events prevent him from living life to the fullest?

How can she give up the life she planned…?

Samantha can’t believe she’s a blood rose, a woman who can meet the needs of a starved mastyr vampire. Her plans never included the world of the Nine Realms in which mastyr vampires rule millions of realm-folk, but learning that she’s half-fae has changed everything. As Ethan’s blood-needs become a life-or-death struggle, and cast her into a war against the dreaded Invictus, how can she choose to embrace her new fae powers and change her life so completely? Will she take on the role forever as Ethan’s blood rose? Or will her desire to follow her life’s ambitions force her to choose against love, passion, and unbelievable fae power?

I confess I've had a love affaire with vampires for several years now, especially warrior vampires, the kind found in the books of Sherrilyn Kenyon, Lara Adrian and JR Ward. Though I've been published in Regency Romance under the pseudonym Valerie King--and yes one of my Regency Novellas features a vampire--one day I woke up knowing I had to create my own contemporary world of the warrior vampire.

For some mystical, magical reason, early in the process, my vampires appeared with enormous beautiful wings and it has been the most amazing experience to include flight in my novels, in both battle scenes and scenes involving spectacle. My special vampire world, published by St. Martin's Press, is introduced in the first book called, ASCENSION (12-28-2010). The second book, BURNING SKIES (May of 2011), opens up the world a little bit more. And even as I write this, I'm on the final draft of my third novel, WINGS OF FIRE (September of 2011). What a thrill it has been to live with my ascended vampires through the creation of this extraordinary, multi-dimensional world!

For more information about my unique take on the vampire mythos, check out my website at carisroane.com and my book release video on YouTube by putting in the search phrase, Caris Roane Ascension.

With every hope you'll enjoy reading my books set in the World of Ascension, All my best, Caris Roane

Book two in the Blood Rose series starts off a bit slow, but picks up half way through it and gets really entertaining. Samantha is a college student working on her Master's Degree, which takes her to a club. While there she meets Ethan, the mastyr vampire of Bergisson, who shows up and turns her life upside down. She discovers that she is Blood Rose, among some other things about herself and her heritage.

The characters themselves I found to be a bit weak. Samantha comes across as passive and she accepts things too quickly. If I suddenly had a vision out the blue (won't say of what), I wouldn't have been as calm as Smantha. If I then went home and on my own figured out that "hey I'm half-fae, which means one of my parents was Fae," I would have totally freaked out and I would not be ok. But she is just so calm and accepting. Also in the club, she says that she hates vampires, but then she sees Ethan and thinks "damn he is hot, I could so let him bite me," but then she goes back to hating vampires. She is just wishy-washy. She should have been more of a firecracker or spunky for Ethan. She needed to make him work for it.

Ethan also has moments when he flip-flops his view. He doesn't want her there, but capitulates quickly. Also, his lingering anger concerning her mom could have been used to add tension, but it was like he was angry and resentful one second, then the next he wasn't.

But I have to say that once Ry and the dark Fae attacks Samantha (because let's face it, the bad guys always go for the girl) things picked up. Samantha and Ethan became more real and I couldn't put the book down until I finished. The second half moved along quickly, and I fell in love with the characters. Great ending! I will definitely read more of the Blood Rose series.

Sometimes, even when you KNOW who is going to get whom in the end, the journey is the best part and Embrace the Magic by Caris Roane was definitely an adventure. Ethan is an imposing Master Vampyr, a protector, a warrior. Samantha is more than shocked to find she is a Blood Rose, a rare woman whose blood can quench the thirst and aid in the power of a master vampyr. If that wasn’t enough, she finds she is also part fae, a very powerful part-fae. Her heart is torn between the new world she has discovered and the desire to go back to the human realm, but when the fate of the Nine Realms hangs in the balance, she must choose, will her feeling for Ethan tip the scales? Will she return home, never to look back? A dark cloud of doubt hangs over the memory of her mother, of who she was and what she did or did not do and Samantha’ future life is so unclear.

Caris Roane is a master artist as she paints her scenes, her tension, and her characters, then puts it all together in a fast-paced plot filled with deceit, intrigue, honor and the realization that somewhere in the world, there is someone for everyone, and its okay to draw strength for them. With that added splash of sexual tension and the sometimes obstinate personalities of her main characters, this is a fun read, and a marvelous addition to the series.

JUST A NOTE: I am an avid reader of books, which has always been my favorite pastime, but not so much a good writer of reviews, so my reviews will be more of a comment on what I felt after reading this book.

Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars - It was an extremely captivating, but at times an aggravating read, because you wanted to shake both Ethan and Samanatha with their constant reasoning of why they shouldn’t bond. They both knew from the beginning their sexual chemistry was off the roof, they both knew they were more powerful and needed to stay together, but at the same time both refusing to let go on the reasons why they should not bond. But, on another note, the story was very well written with wonderful characters, a great unique storyline and we were given more insight into the power of the Fae and the Vampires with facts pertaining to some of the other secondary characters which was truly fascinating. I am looking forward to reading the next book in this Blood Rose series written by Caris Roane

What a wonderful story! This is a rich and in-depth tale from the Nine Realms with a history of over 40 years in the making. Samantha has to learn just who she is and also about people that she thought she knew. Ethan has to make peace with himself for something that he has carried out needless guilt for far too long. Putting these two together is explosive! I loved how they worked so well together, neither one smothering the other, instead providing strength and support whenever it was needed.

The story flows well and there are no plot holes that I fell into. The characters, whether 'good' or 'bad' are well-rounded and believable. The Blood Rose series continues to shine and I have no hesitation in recommending this book or the series.

Compared to his peers, Ethan, Mastyr Vampire of Bergisson Realm has had the fewest incidents with the wraith hybrids, Invictus, set on subjugating everything with a heartbeat. But Ethan’s realm has lost many guards recently and his perpetual starvation is worse than it’s ever been.

When Ethan strode into the bar to retrieve a wayward vamp, he noted the disdain student Samantha Favereau showed the non-humans. As he turned to leave, Ethan noted Sam was part fae and caught her legendary Blood Rose scent, a relationship he needed but couldn’t see with her. He wondered if she knew then realized she didn’t.

Samantha hates vampires and thinks they shouldn’t be able to access the human world, harassing and enthralling innocent humans like her to become their temporary food sources. So what, if they’re sexy and attractive. Who cares, if she hasn’t had sex or a date in months. But after one glance at Ethan, Samantha was boneless and wanted her own vampire.

The uneven pace and déjà vu-ness of this outing annoyed; the complete change of outlook and the inequality of blood roses to be limited to the same result were inexplicable to this reader’s taste. Shelving this series, at least for now, to put more distance in case it’s more déjà vu.

The magic of a new fae is astounding.

Samantha meets Ethan while she is doing research for a college paper on people from "the realm". He realizes that she is a blood rose. She is human and wants nothing to do with him. But when another mastyr vampire named Ry arrives at her house, she decides to go into Ethan's realm with him for protection.
Samantha finds out some disturbing news about her mother and that she herself is half fae. Ethan has to fight an increasing number of Invictictus as well as Ry who wants his realm back. They both are fighting the attraction they feel toward each other. An ancient fae with evil black magic is also involved in this story. So there is plenty of exciting adventure to be had in this story.
This is a well written book that continues with another mastyr vampire of the nine realms. I am enjoying the journey so far!

What a great series so far. The new twists on vampires in this book are really interesting. I like the symbiotic relationship between the mastyr vamps and their rose. It's a beautiful coupling and each is unique in someway, yet they are the same as well. I like how there are so many different species living within the realms and, for the most part, they get along, some even intermingling. I loved reading/listening to Ethan and Samantha's story. I look forward to seeing who the next lucky pair will be. Well done to the author.

Will she take on the role forever as Ethan’s blood rose? Or will her desire to follow her life’s ambitions force her to choose against love, passion, and unbelievable fae power?

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I very much enjoyed this 2nd installment in the Blood Rose series. I think I like it even more than the first. I like the world of this series, the human and realm world connections.
Ethan is tormented by the loss of his family years ago and angry at the woman he believes betrayed them. He is a strong leader and ruler who cares deeply for the people he serves and protects.
Samantha is the daughter of the woman Ethan believes betrayed Bergisson all those years ago. She discovers she is half Fae and a blood rose and has to come to terms with her new reality, power and the dangers to her because of it.
I loved seeing them find their way to each other and together in this world. The new hope she brings to the war with the Invictus and to Ethan is wonderful, as is the way Ethan is with her and her with him as they navigate their way to the Bond.
I am looking forward to reading the next in this series and highly recommend checking it out.
Contemporary Paranormal Romance
Shreveport, Louisiana & Bergisson Realm
Ethan is a mastyr vampire of the Bergisson Realm. He never thought he would find a blood rose let alone one that is his. A woman that could ease the blood-starvation that he has had to endure for decades. Samantha has newly discovered fae heritage and as it emerges it shows that she has a level of power that proves very surprising. As she connects with Ethan’s personal realm frequency it ignites his passion. Ethan’s commitment has always been to ruling Bergisson and it is his priority, even with his driving need to be with Samantha. Ethan soon finds himself drawn to the web of his relentless, driving need for her as their desire rises. Now Ethan is going to have to decide if his guilt over the past will prevent him from being able to embrace his blood rose and living life to the fullest.
Samantha’s plans never included anything to do with the world of the Nine Realms. A world where mastyr vampires rule millions of realm-folk. She can’t believe she is the woman that can meet the needs of a mastyr vampire, a blood rose. Though learning she is half-fae has changed everything for her. Suddenly she is cast into a war against the dreaded Invictus with Ethan’s blood-needs that soon become a life-or-death struggle. She has to see if she can embrace her new fae powers and be able to change her life completely. Samantha has to decide if her life’s ambition is what she wants to follow and leave behind love, passion and unbelievable fae power or if she can be what Ethan needs as a blood rose forever.
This story picks up shortly after the first one leaves off and yet it can be read as a standalone book but readers will find it much better if they read the first book before this one. The world building is further enhanced with this story and makes for a world that is amazing all on its own. The characters are complex and as reader watch them deal with what they have always wanted for what they have suddenly found when the least expect it makes for an engrossing read. With a mystery that is woven through the books it links the books together so well that readers will want to sit and read the book all together. While the full mystery isn’t completely solved in this book, the story itself has a very nice ending without any cliffhangers.
"Embrace the Magic" by Caris Roane Is book 2 in the series. A bit more complex due to Samantha being part Fae and having the ability to Fire up the stone with Ethan's help in keeping her planted. For the most part the two books are basically the same, a new Realm and a new Mastyr.
There are nine realms, Ethan's is the Bergisson Realm and as the 8 others they continue to fight the Invictus. This is a bonding between a wraith and a realm folk. What is different is that the Invictus are not so scattered brained anymore and have begun to act in a cohesive manner.
Samantha not only being half Fae she is also a Blood Rose and lives right next to the Bergisson Realm. This is important because all Mastyr Vampires are in a constant starvation mode. They expend too much energy keeping up with about one-million realm folk each and they have to also protect them constantly. Being a Blood Rose means Samantha has the ability to make as much blood as the Mastyr needs and when they have their blood rose they are no longer in a starvation mode again.
Samantha can't help but to feed Ethan as it's what she wants to do and what she was made for. What I'm not really please with is the going back and forth with Samantha wanting to feed Ethan but not wanting to live in the realm. And she always feels wishy-washy on things. It becomes very distractive.
Ethan puts nothing before his realm. They are the most important and he stands by his word taking in everything. Even if Samantha won't stay in the realm Ethan will continue to go on without her the way he always had before.
Samantha also had the gift of visions and could tell Ethan what was going on and where. Eventually Ethan talks Samantha into coming into his realm and meeting with a Fae who could tell her about herself and more about being a Fae.
There is so much left out. I am incapable of the visualizations that Caris layers into her story. How she pulls you into her world. Not only can I see the visual, but I can hear the undertones and smell everything Caris describes. What Caris has is such a gift. And I am grateful to have read her first two books in the series.
Our Review, by LITERAL ADDICTION's Devilish Diva - Shawnie:
*eARC gifted by Literal Addiction for an honest review.
Embrace the Magic is a book about finding what you need, when you
least expect it and having the courage to embrace it - Even if it
takes you awhile to realize it.
Ethan is the Mastyr Vampire of the Bergisson Realm and he has sworn
off pretty much everything that doesn’t have to do with him managing
and taking care of his Realm. He takes care of business no matter
what, and to him his life is crystal clear. But fate has a way of
making itself known, and Ethan is going to get a crash course on
relationships – even if he doesn’t want one.
Samantha is human to her knowledge, and she has her life all figured
out. All she wants to do is finish school and create her jewelry, but
fate knows she needs more and her teachers (unbeknownst to them) are
helping fate out, by having Samantha do research at a club frequented
by “others.”
These two hardheaded, stubborn star crossed lovers go on an emotional
ride with one another and either knows what or how to go about it. But
Ethan and Samantha have pasts that won’t mentally allow them to give
into what they feel, even though their bodies are already on board the
train to feel good town.
Sparks pretty much fly between Ethan and Samantha. You can almost feel
the emotion and power rolling through the pages, like it was trying to
pull you into their little world. No matter their stubbornness you
find yourself screaming in your head “HURRY UP ALREADY, YOU LOVE EACH
OTHER.” Embrace the Magic is a magical book about magical people who
need each other desperately, and the magic they create is amazingly
powerful.
I enjoyed this book for the most part, it honestly bothered me that
they fought their emotional attraction and the Blood Rose issue even
though they KNEW they were great together. It was just too much of a
struggle and it honestly got old really fast, but none the less it was
a great book.
EMBRACE THE MAGIC by Caris Roane is the 2nd book in her Blood Rose series. The author has a gift for creating worlds that are multi-dimensional and layered with just the right amount of DARK! I did not read the first novel, but I could guess the premise behind the series. A Blood Rose can ease the bloodlust of a Mastyr Vampire and Samantha has just had her life turned upside down. She is drawn immediately to Mastyr Ethan, because of her blood. She has more surprises when she discovers that she is half fae and has visions of the future. Samantha joins Ethan in the Bergisson Realm, where he is ruler, for her protection. She can become a Blood Rose to ANY Mastyr Vampire and Ethan is afraid that she will be forced into a bond.
This was a delightful read, full of action, discoveries and learning about the 9 Realm-folk: trolls, elves, fae, shape shifters, and vampires! I expected Ethan as a Mastyr Vampire to be dark and full of himself, he was the exact opposite. He lived to serve his people and he knew that a woman would complicate his life. He was also a gorgeous blonde with long,flowing curls. That is not my idea of a ruthless leader! Samantha did not want a bond either, she valued her independence and missed her home in Shreveport, LA. Each must decide in their own way, if they want the commitment that a bond will ensure. My favorite parts were watching Samantha learn about her newfound Fae gifts and the vibrations that she feels through the crystals and to Ethan himself. Samantha and Ethan’s powers combined might be able to save their world from evil and the Invictus! This is a great read, some predictable parts, but I enjoyed reading as Ethan and Samantha fought their personal demons to fall in love!! Caris, you did it again! Another swoon-worthy novel based on vampires!
This is the second book in the Blood Rose series and I'm only just catching up! I adore this authors raunchy vampire tales and her stories are truly entertaining as she paints vivid pictures with her words and always has a fast paced plot. Add in enough romance to make the most hardened heart weep and yes you have simply divine paranormal romance .
This is a series totally unlike any other that I have read and. I give fair warning that it's still finding it's feet I think and might not appeal to all readers of paranormal romance. Strong alpha hero? Check as we have Ethan a master Vampire with a protective streak a mile wide and yet he seems somewhat detached at times. Feisty heroine who you want to be? Well Samantha is a human ( isn't she?) with a strong sense of identity and her own worth but boy is she walking around with blinkers on! It's a very passionate relationship that brings them together and yet am I the only reader who wants to shake them? I don't think I have read about two more stubborn characters in a long while. I did empathise with Samantha as the life she had mapped out was most certainly about to take a one hundred and eighty degree turn but the payback was something so worth having .
What do I say? Ms Roane does an amazing job when it comes to romance and even though I'm not a huge fan of her idea of "vibrations" I didn't even mind that in this book. If you want a story chock full of surprises and tension then this story certainly delivers. This was a quick fun read with a couple of obstinate characters but luckily the end had them pulling together and I think that I am finally getting hooked on the Blood Rose series!
The second book in the Blood Rose Series pairs two reluctant leads together. Samantha has never liked Vampire's and while it's not really clear why it's evident that the last thing she wants is anything to do with a vampire. Ethan as Master of his realm has a lot of people who depend on him. Feeling as if he's failed once already which led to the death of everyone close to him as well as hundreds of others Ethan has no room for anyone or anything other than what he feels as his duty. The two of them get thrown together one night while she is in the middle of writing a paper for her college class and doing some investigation and he gets tired of reprimanding one of his realm folk and goes to personally hand down his punishment. When he goes to haul back his misbehaving citizen Ethan meets Samantha by complete accident which leads to a whirl wind escapade full of surprises. Samantha learns who she is and what she is and Ethan discovers he's had an enemy within his ranks for a while. Samantha and Ethan learn they have special gifts that may just help a whole lot of his people and Samantha has to decided does she stay in his realm or go back to the only home she's ever known. Still more surprises wait up until the end and the two of them have to decide whether they are better together or apart and will they stay together or go their separate ways. Really enjoyed this read and while it took me a bit longer than normal to read that wasn't because it wasn't interesting or engaging. This is longer than the other books like the Blood rose tales and more involved which makes it a longer read but definitely worth the time and read. Lots of things happen and many twists and turns come in this book can't wiat to read the next one.
4.5 STARS
The second book in The Blood Rose series continues to be as intriguing and captivating as the first.
Ethan, mastyr vampire of the Bergission Realm is committed to ruling and protecting his realm with single mined intensity and he doesn’t have time for complications, especially with their enemies up to something. Samantha’s life takes on new meaning when she discovers she is not only half human, half fae, she has a surprising level of power and she is apparently a Blood Rose.
The author continues to capture the imagination of the reader with this unique paranormal world and compelling characters. The author conveys the emotions and personalities of the characters in realistic detail that connects the reader to the story and makes them believe they are part of it. I could actually feel the turmoil of these two characters as they fight their destinies.
The actions scenes are energetic and intense and the plot is fast paced and keeps the reader on the edge of their seat. The heat between the Ethan and Samantha radiates off the page and the sex is hot and steamy. Add in the mystery of solving the events of the past and how they connect to the present and you have a very entertaining read from beginning to end. I will be looking forward to reading the next adventure in this series.
I LOVE this book. I think I even liked it more than the first, which doesn't happen often.
Ethan is just one of those characters that make you want to slap him one second and climb on top of him the next. He a guy with a huge heart that carries that weight of the world on his shoulders. He protects those he loves, sometimes to the detriment of his own safety. He doesn't trust easy and has a huge problem with relinquishing control to others. He also has a strong belief that having any woman in his life would serve as too big a distraction from his job. He is Master of Berggison Realm, charged with the protection of over 1 millions lives, he doesn't have time or room in his life for any long-term relationship.
Samantha is a resident of Shreveport, Louisiana. She has spent her life believing she was just an ordinary girl. She lives in her grandparents house, attends the university and makes jewelry. She lives a solitary life and prefers to be in the background, unnoticed. Everything is as she wants it until destiny steps in.
Will Ethan and Samantha be able to change enough to see what they are to each other? If they do see it, will they be able to accept it and accept a new course for their lives? I guess you're gonna have to read it to find out.
Well done CR. 5* to you for another awesome read.
I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
Remember Ethan from book 1? This is a book all about him! While he isn't as irreverent as he was in book 1, he was fun to watch squirm under the effects of his blood rose.
Ethan is a Mastyr (yeah, it still hurts a little to read like that) vampire who suffers constantly with his blood hunger burden. Samantha has reluctantly dragged herself to a realm club filled with fae, vampires, and other assorted paranormals. She's never been very interested in realm species and plans to escape as soon as she's done with her school research interviews. Ethan and Samantha lock eyes (and noses) for a minute and her entire life is changed.
Did she think she was 100% non-realm? Did she think she could sneak under the radar after being outed as a blood rose? Everything changes very quickly for Samantha after that one moment in the club. Ethan tries to take the moral high ground and offer to protect her from other vampires who will be drawn to her (and might not be as nice as Ethan). He convinces himself that he won't bond with her and will simply protect her from others.
Somewhere along the line these two end up in a relationship (with or without bonding) and it is adorable. All the fighting makes it that much sweeter. These two end up becoming a wonderful pair.
a good follow up from "Embrace the Dark".
Still following along the lines of a new Blood Rose, and another Mastyr - this time Ethan.
Written in the same way and same pattern really as the original, but was good to read!
Our Blood Rose this time, Samantha is not just a human but is part fae and has never been told or realised.
Samantha has a key role in helping fight the enemy, which makes a stark contrast to our first blood rose, Abigail.
Very much a romance - boy meets girl, boy and girl dont like, put together, and the ending is what you expect, but even though you know how it will end, the story to get there is actually enjoyable!
Makes you want to meet a vampire if therye anything like they are in these books!
Have a feeling Quinlan will be the next mastyr to find his blood rose, as we were introduced to him for the first time in this book, much in the way we were introduced to Ethan in the last.
These are novellas, so not a hefty book and the story isnt drawn out and i didnt skim read as i tend to do when a story is being dragged out a bit.
Again, explicit sexual scenes, so not for the youngsters but again, althought written in detail it doesnt feel *blush* leering kinda way!
This was a great continuation of this series. I can't wait to see what is in store for the coming up characters.
Samantha grew up in the human world, interested in the other realms and everything about them. He mother never her would give her much info about them. So she studied and took college classes about that world. Never knowing that she is actually part of that world herself, as a half fae she belongs there, but isn't sure she wants to stay there.
Ethan doesn't want anyone in his life right now, he doesn't have time for someone, so he pushes all those desires far away, until that one day. Little does he realize once he meets Samantha, that day will be sooner then he ever plans.
Between the two of them they can do wonderful things, but they need to decide if they can or are willing to put everything else aside so they can be great together. Will they do it, will Samantha give up her life in the human world so she can have everything? Is Ethan willing to step aside and let his guards take on more, without him on the front line, and have it all?
It's a story you won't want to miss.
I still had some trouble with this book, but not at much as the first time. But the middle part drags. The contant back and forth between Ethan and Samantha got on my nerves. As well as the excessive sex scenes...all the time they denied their connection they had sex...a bit strange if you ask me. It felt off and slowed the story for me. And really how many sex scenes can you read without getting bored and rolling your eyes. I mostly skip them these days...
I've finally finished Embrace the Magic, after 6 days. I'm sorry too say that I couldn't connect with the story and some of the characters. I wanted to love this book so bad, but I couldn't.
No magic spark for me. Unfortunately.
I really loved the first book Embrace the Dark. I also love the overall story of the Blood Roses and Mastyr Vampires and the Dark Fae, who's causing all this trouble.
Also, the writing of these books is good. So don't let you deter from reading Embrace the Magic, just because I couldn't connect with the story.
I'm definitely going to read the next book Embrace the Mystery, as I want to know who the Dark Fae is and how the overall story continues.
I was gifted this copy of Embrace the Magic by the author Caris Roane for a honest review. I loved this book. Meet "Mastyr" Ethan, ruler of the Bergisson Realm, who is battling the enemy Invictus yet again. Along comes Samantha from Shreveport, who discovers she is part fae, but doesn't understand how,but has a vision that can't that tells her she is also a blood rose also. Samantha is drawn to "Mastyr" Ethan, feeling the pull of the "Mastyr's" blood starvation, but also all of the other Mastyr's in all realms. as "Mastyr" Ethan tries to help her with all that has come about, her being part fae, blood rose and the visions of what happened at Sweet George 40 years ago, which claimed his family. When "Mastyr" Ry tries to kidnap and make Samantha bond with him, all hell breaks loose. "Mastyr" Ethan must protect Samantha at all costs, but will he make the bond to her himself or keep holding back. Will Samantha embrace the magic of Bergisson and her fae heritage? Come and enjoy the ride of this couple. It will not disappoint!!! Hot steamy romance the paranormal way!!! Oh Yeah..
I am rating the 4.5
Ethan is the Mastyr Vampire of the Bergisson realm. He meets Samantha for the first time at a human club that supernaturals frequent. She is a college student, there reachering for a school paper. While the are drawn to each other Ethan realizes than she is a blood rose and then she has a vision and he also realizes that she has fae blood. Samantha has no idea of any of this she just knows that she wants to be the one to feed Ethan but doesn't undstamd why. Then they find out about each others pasts and have to deal with that. Love this book although I wanted to shake some sense into both of them at times. Ethan is so fixed on keeping his realm safe he doesn't want any distractions and Samantha is set on not having anything long term but cause she is going back to the human realm. Eventually they find d their paths.
It was good read I really did enjoy it!!
The realm Bergesson is in grave danger. Mastyr Vampire Ethan will do anything to keep it safe. Nothing will distract his goal of safety for his people; not even the beautiful Samantha.
Samantha lives in Shreveport, part of the mortal world. She has no living relatives but is at peace designing jewelry.
A fated meeting between our two characters, Ethan and Samantha, show them that life without each other is not their destiny. They also discover secrets that will map their road. This couple takes us on a journey filled with fast moving action, emotion, and personal revelations.
This is the 2nd in the Blood Rose Series but could easily be a stand alone read. Roane is an author that brings not only characters but places to vivid color. I have read many of her novels and she has never disappointed.
Finding a blood rose means resolving a Mastyr Vampires blood needs permanently and Mastyr Ethan has found her.... but he desires the blood and not the idea of the "bonding"! Mastyr Ethan is a controlling vampire who believes his place is leading his Realm and his total focus should be this. Samantha has yet to discover her ties to Mastyr Ethan's realm or even her fae powers when she meets Mastyr Ethan but when they meet the are drawn to each other against both of their desires! This is a wonderful story of their challenging personalities, their desire to lead their own lives and the fight they must wage to be together! It is a story of loss and forgiveness, strength, weakness and need and Ms. Roane is able to blend all these together to make a compelling story! "Copy gifted in exchange for an honest review"
