Kelly Goins’ life didn't match her four-point plan.
1. College at eighteen 2. Career at twenty-two 3. Marriage at twenty-four 4. Kids at twenty-six
Everything in its right order. Except, for Kelly, life didn’t follow the order after step two. After a hard day of corporate climbing in Lincoln, Nebraska, Kelly slips into a vintage nightgown and goes to sleep. The next thing she knows she’s in a dream ... maybe.
The frustrating, stone-cold Captain Duran maybe just what she’s not looking for, but what she needs. She knows it's only her subconscious creating the commanding and handsome man who orders his way into her heart so she dreads when her alarm clock will wrench her from her heart’s desire.
In Iraq, Duran had come to grips with the fact that he would be alone for the rest of his military career, but Kelly turns his orderly life upside down when she appears in his tent. The woman is more than interesting, but is also crazy. He doesn't want to like the hard-nosed woman that keeps popping up in his cot, but maybe he's crazy too. --Amazon.com
Kelly Goins is a corporates climber going on thirty. Her work is going great, but she's behind on her plans for marriage and kids, not being able to find a guy good enough.
She puts on a white vintage night gown, and then she wakes up in the bed of Marine Captain Duran, stationed in Iraq. Kelly thinks it's all a dream, but Duran and the men around become very suspicious when she can't explain how she got there.
Duran can't get Kelly out of his mind, and she becomes increasingly infatuated and drawn to the cold Captain.
I felt a bit disappointed with Kelly and Durans relationship, they didn't have much chemistry. Kelly was portrayed as a strong willed and smart woman, yet whenever she was near Duran she became all gooey and clingy and it felt very out of character.

Two stories are playing out with two different POV, Kelly in Nebraska and Captain Duran in Irak. Each chapter changes between the two POV and the story starts out seemingly normal in the real world and then Boom fantasy strikes one night when Kelly goes to bed and she wakes up in Irak in Captain Duran's arms, in his tiny cot in the desert outpost. I really like how no one wanted to believe the fantastic goings-on with Kelly and her amazing white nightgown. Seriously funny in a dreamy far-out kind of story. Miss Kelly Goins reminds me of some of my career minded lady friends, I really felt like she was a living breathing wonderful person that I would love to be friends with. Captain Duran was a great upstanding guy that never asked anything that he wouldn't give himself. Contemporary military romance, doesn't everyone love a man in a uniform?! 203 pages. Free for kindle in May 2012. 3 stars of an unusual read that was not your average romance story.
This is a fun read that would make an excellent Lifetime movie. A successful young lady who has met all her goals with the exception of husband and child. One sad night, she puts on the gown that she bought for her wedding night only to wake up in the arms of a marine captain.
This is where the story gets fun! She insist that she is dreaming. That she's not really there and honestly, I probably would too. How can you go to sleep in your own bed, and wake up on the other side of the world? So to stay sane- yeah, I'm dreaming...LOL!
Cap is a true officer and a gentleman with a heart of gold and happy they found each other no matter how weird the circumstances.
This is a must read for romance fans and anyone who needs a lite relaxing read.
Two Days of a Dream is a fantasy romance with a lovely silk gown, a big handsome, strong Marine, a dream trip to Iraq with lots of crazy and finally waking up in Lincoln, Nebraska shot. Kelly woke up in the Cap's arms in his tent in Iraq and found her Number 3 with a good possibility of her Number 4 too. The excitement was high in the war zone with a group of Marines away serving our country while Kelly though she was dreaming everything that happened to her for two days. This is the premise of the story but the details are the part you don't want to miss. The dialog is fast and funny, the characters are varied and interesting but true to life and the war situations are presented with accuracy to make this one of the best books I have read in several years.
I really liked this book by Kathryn Gilmore. It had a very unusual storyline, but one that hooked me right from the very beginning, and I found it hard to put the book down and do what I needed to do around the house. The characters were well developed and the story moved along at a nice pace. I was glad to find the author's webpage so I could read the epilogue (I had to know what happened to Kelly and Cap). I hope Kathryn writes more books because I would definitely be interested in checking them out.
My only complaint is there were some spelling errors that needed to be fixed. But that couldn't stop me from finishing this book.
Kelly had mapped out for her life for herself, driven by little goals that she wanted to accomplish at a certain age. The first two goals were the ones that she thought would tough to achieve but she accomplished them with no problems… The last two seemed to evade her in every way possibly imaginable… Kelly remembered some told her that to succeed what she desires she must dress for success… Putting on the nightgown that she planned for wedding night that hasn’t happen… But will help bring her success.
The book was told in two different POVs which I thought was different. The book was an enjoyable contemporary romance story that was a quick read.
Kelly wants to fall in love but her position in the corporate world doesn't let her interact with guys that match what she wants. After wearing a vintage nightgown she wanted to save for her honeymoon, she falls asleep in her bed in Lincoln, NE but wakes up in a tent in Iraq.
I like the sweet romance story in Two Days of a Dream. There are so many romances that are chocked so full of the physical stuff that the stories lack the emotional aspect. This was a nice read with a surprise ending. I definitely recommend the book to all fans of romance.
This book had a very interesting, very different concept. It could really picture each scene as it played out. I very much liked the characters (all of the characters, not just the main ones). The word quirky keeps coming to mind when I think of a way to describe it. Honestly, there wasn’t a lot of romance in it though. There was some attraction throughout, but no romance until maybe the last few pages. I wasn’t a book that I had a problem putting down and coming back to later, but it was an entertaining read.
Not bad, kinda cute. Not very realistic though. The main character, Kelly, seems very confident and smart at the beginning but during her "dream" she acts girly (it's hard to explain). Before the dream she's tough, a corporate climber, who isn't intimidated by anyone. During the "dream" she still shows some of those characteristics but she acts more like the stereotypical blonde. I guess that's the best way to describe it.
I really enjoyed the book. It was just what I needed to read...a military paranormal romance can be the best way to describe it. The sexual tension between the two main characters kept me reading late into the night. I was just DYING to find out how they would end up. It was cute, romantic, and amusing. I'm so glad I found the book. Now, on to find the epilogue!
I think that this book had an interesting concept. Sleeping in a nightgown and then waking up in the middle of a war. I enjoyed it so much that I stayed up until about 1:30am reading even though I had work in the morning. I'm am pretty positive that I will read this again.
I thought this would just be pure trash, enough to survive a long train journey. I found myself getting sucked in more and more as the story went on! The characters were really well developed and the plot was good. A happy surprise read!
This was a cute story about a girl who's plans for her life don't goes as she plans. One night she goes to sleep and wakes up in the cot of a marine in Iraq. In the time she's there she comes to realizations about her life. I would recommend this book it's a quick read.
I loved this book! A unique storyline, humorous writing, and a new twist to the standard romance. My only disappointment is that the description indicates you can access the epilogue on the authors website and I was never able to locate it.
A silly romp through a marketing executive's dream of landing in an Iraqui marine camp, full of tents in the arms of her #3.( # 1 was college at 18 #2 career at 22. So light and fluffy it exudes description. But if you need some fluff and want a happy ending this is it.
