In Over The Rainbow, Aidan discovered the ancient Watchtowers. His discovery ignited a race against time to have them restored before the first Watchtower’s dire warnings come true. There is an enemy lurking out there in the distant shadows and only the long forgotten protection those towers can provide, can save them all.
But will he be able to unravel the mystery in time? Will the first meeting between King James and Prince Alric go off without a hitchor will they, on top of everything else, also have to deal with strife on their home shores?
And why does Aidan keep on stumbling over Moon references? Everywhere he goes, the bloody moon pops up, almost as if something, some unknown force, is sending him a message but surely this can’t be right…for the moon is nothing but a distant rock in the sky and surely there are no means of getting there…right?
It all started at the tender age of 12 for Anna Marie May when she decided that she didn't like how her then favourite book ended. She re-wrote it for her own pleasure and has been writing ever since. She lives in beautiful Ireland where stormy seas and unpredictable weather help her get into the right mood to create her stories.
If she isn't writing she is travelling, working or studying – and hoping that one day somewhere she will find the perfect cat.
I really liked the world in the first book and I thought the story had some really good plot points and I wanted to know if James was gonna stay a massive arsehole or start treating Aidan with a little love and respect. So I thought I'd give it a second chance but James went ahead and not only married whatsherface but he actually had sex with her! He treated Aidan horriably, blamed him for ruining his wedding night for crying out loud and then more or less abused him for not being at his beck and call!
But all that could have been ok if Aidan had made him beg and plead for a second chance but nope he just had to say a few I'm sorry's and James was let back in Aidan's pants! Oh and James still thinks he was a whore and Aidan has yet to correct him!! WTF??
Ok yes I know I am sorry this is not really a review just me having a rant but the whole doormat thing pisses me off!!

This book pretty much picked up where Over The Rainbow left off with Aidan, James and the gang in Dinas. James and Vivian are married as they had planned but Aidan discovered a hitch in the whole plan involving vows made to the spirits. This lead to Aidan calling on his mother and the old sorcerer Mal to help him figure out how to undo the binding by the spirits. In the meantime, the ships that were headed toward James's kingdom have arrived necessitating some crazy portal jumping by Aidan. Prince Aldrick is brought into the story but soon portals out of the story before his reason for being there is fully revealed. Aidan discovers a second Watchtower that in in need of repair and the race is on. This book is told from Aidan's POV so all of what happens is seen through his eyes. I thoroughly enjoyed the story but it some how felt that Ms May wrote it on the fly. There were editing mistakes primarily in spelling which Silver Publishing is becoming more and more known for. While this story was action oriented with several good subplots, the depth that I found in book one was not there. This is due primarily from having the entire story told from Aidan's POV in my opinion and hopefully will be corrected in book three which is due out now in mid-September. I would still recommend this book to fans of the series but just don't expect the quality that you found in Over The Rainbow although Ms May did pull off a HEA ending.
This is building into an excellent series. Aidan is a very likeable character and he's learning a lot about himself so you're with him every step of the way. I loved the idea of - it was definitely original. Now I just need to stop reading the name of the cat as Belize in my head!
I still really liked the story, although there wasn't much relationship building or romance in this one , it would be nice to have gotten James' POV every now and then because many times he really came off as an asshat. But all in all can't wait for the next one in the series
I really loved how the book was written. Very inventive and rich in details. The romance problem was different too and, I think, quite well handled. I totally enjoyed it! :)
