From bestselling author Brenda Rothert comes a spicy small town romance about a grumpy police chief and the feisty newcomer he can't stop clashing with...

Ever hear of Sven’s Beard, Minnesota?

Me either, until an inheritance from an uncle I never knew about brings me there. Expecting a windfall to support my dream of traveling the world, I instead get a weekly newspaper, complete with a crumbling building, a surly employee, and way too much interaction with the town’s bearded, grouchy lumberjack of a police chief.

My stay in the quirky northern town gets extended as I try to sell the newspaper and unravel truths about my family that leave me reeling. There’s no way I’m staying, despite the pull of the warm people in “the Beard”, and my hot nights with the gruff cop who drives me crazy in all the best ways.

While covering as the one and only reporter for the newspaper, I find myself following a trail that puts me in danger. Exposing the truth may help heal the man I’ve fallen for—if I don’t lose him in the process.

I really loved this one. It had a lot of things I like. An unexpected inheritance, a small town setting with a quirky vibe and quirky secondary characters, a studly, grumpy police chief hero, a feisty heroine looking for answers about her family’s secrets, lots of verbal sparring between the H/h that masked a simmering attraction, and a little bit of suspense near the end. I also enjoyed the behind the scenes look at the workings of a weekly newspaper. It’s fun to learn things while you’re also enjoying a romance heat up in a book. I couldn’t put this one down.

I went into this book while in a reading slump. I had maybe read 3 books in 2 weeks. But I read this entire book in less than a day! It’s abit different from what I usually read but was really refreshing. It’s such a cute and cozy small town romance with not much spice but I wouldn’t change a thing.
I always forget how much I love small town romances untill I read them again. You really do fall in love with all the characters and get all the mushy feelings.
I absolutely can’t wait for the second book and am super intrigued with the characters.

4.5 out of 5

I'm a big fan of Brenda Rothert. For the past few years she's focused on hockey romance but now she's written a small town contemporary which I thoroughly enjoyed. This is a trope I've really gotten into in the past several years - along with her hockey romances of course. This one takes place in the quirky town of Sven's Beard Minnesota. The hero is Grady, the grumpy yet very likeable Chief of Police. Avon is our heroine who has inherited the small weekly newspaper from an uncle she was unaware of. She has no intention of keeping it as she has a life in San Diego and Sven's Beard Minnesota in winter is nothing like she's used to. But in running the newspaper until she can find a buyer, she finds herself being drawn into this small quirky town. Its where her late parents grew up, though they never told her about their past and she is shocked to discover she has family, an aunt and uncle as well as a cousin close to her own age. Plus the growing attraction between her and Grady gets stronger every time they clash.

This is an excellent book in the current popularity of small town romance, one of the better ones in my opinion. MS Rohnert says in the afterword she can hardly wait until the next one comes out an I find myself agreeing with her.

This book had me laughing, crying and feeling all the feels. Avon lands in Sven’s Beard MN from San Diego to hear the reading of her Uncles will. What starts as a two day trip progresses into Avon finding her true self and value. Avon meets the local police chief and they do not get along. Yet through their journey they both change into their best selves. Lovely romantic story!!

I greatly enjoyed this story!
While most recently Brenda is known for her hockey romance stories, she’s previously written other stories that were not sport related, like this one.

Avon is in the Beard because an uncle she never knew has left her something/everything in his will. He left her his newspaper company. She’s a pharmaceutical representative… she knows nothing about running a business or writing stories or photography. So while she’s waiting for a buyer to purchase the company from her, she decides to be a business owner, a writer, a photographer and a friend.
This starts off as a story about a woman really finding her place in life. And then it morphs into a love story.
When she meets Grady.
He’s a hot one!
A great man who just happens to be the chief of police. (My favorite type of job for a leading man - just saying.)
Wait till you read their arguments!
And Bess… I really enjoyed her too!

I like this author's hockey romances, so was intrigued to see how this one would go, even better was that it's set in a small Minnesota town, feels very familiar.

At the start Avon was very much a fish out of water, a bit stuck up, but not over the top. She took all the crap she was getting flipped at her new newspaper. I actually was waiting for her to pull the "I'm the boss, you work for me" card, but she never did. She learned the business and by that and cleaning out her uncles apartment, she learned about her family too. The family thing was a bit of a surprise, because she didn't think she had any. That was the one good thing about her being in this small town, getting to know her family and then a different side to her parents too.

I found it funny how Avon and Grady clashed from day one, they kinda kept clashing for quite a while, but quickly both saw the other wasn't as bad as they thought. But man...when they decided to give into their attraction, they did it big! They were cute together and I loved that they were able to share hard things about their pasts.

I thought the big story might break them apart, but both realized the other had a good reason for what they did. I'm glad that things were exposed and evil was vanquished.

The ending to this one was cute and fit this couple very well.

This is a new series Ms. Rothert started. I half to be honest as this story started off slow for me. I love Ms. Rothert’s writing and I knew I just needed to wait a bit longer, and I am happy I did. Svens Beard, Minnesota is a different kind of place, especially for Avon coming from San Diego. She flew in for a few days to find out what an uncle she never knew left her in his will. I can’t imagine how she felt when the inheritance was a weekly newspaper in an old building that didn’t have much heat. When Avon met Grady the police chief, she thought he was a big, grumpy man. Their interaction through the book was funny at times. You never knew what was going to come out of Avon’s mouth. It was heartwarming seeing the friendships Avon made in that small town. Avon ended up staying longer than what she thought she would stay. There were some suspenseful times in the book, and I was so glad Avon had Grady. I enjoyed the book and encourage you to read it. I was given a copy and voluntarily wrote a review.

Delightful and adorable! One of the best small town stories I’ve read, with a perfect chronicle of how fast the gossip train works. It takes literally minutes and the whole town knows your business!

Avon received an inheritance from an uncle she didn’t know she had, so she came to this little town in northern Minnesota, called Sven’s Beard. Upon arrival, she learns she inherited a newspaper, the building it’s located in, and the apartment above. She intends to sell everything, since her life and her job is in San Diego. But when she arrives, she finds Bess, the newspaper editor and a harridan who immediately put her to work. Since there are employees involved who need their paycheck, Avon starts to work, writing articles, taking photographs, doing the City Hall and Police beat round ups, in order to keep the newspaper going until she can sell it. But what she couldn’t predict is how enthralled she would get with the job and the town and the inhabitants.

And best of all, the Police Chief Ryan Grady, a man as huge as he is grumpy, who can’t deal with this woman who doesn’t know how to dress for cold weather. She constantly aggravates him, defies him, and insists on doing things her way. Who can resist such an attractive woman?

There’s a huge statue of Sven in front of City Hall, all in oxidized bronze except for the beard, which is shiny because everyone rubs it for luck. Sven is dressed as Santa’s during Christmas, all Wednesdays are Svensday and afternoons are free, no work allowed. There are many cute and quirky customs that made this town unique and enchanting.

This was such a wonderful grumpy/sunshine romance, both characters were adorable. Grady starts as this irritable man but he softens to the point that he carries Avon’s bag on his shoulder when her arms hurt. There’s a hysterically funny scene when his friends take to carrying bags too and exchange tampon boxes in between them, all in jest of how Grady is now whipped. I loved how Grady worried about being a good boyfriend, how he should treat Avon to convince her to stay, how he obsesses about what kind of attentions she would like, so cute.

There are also angsty parts where Avon realizes her parents have a history in this town that she knows nothing about and she goes about finding out and mourning all over again their loss.

All the elements are present, angst, humor, steam, suspense, family drama, all conspiring to make one fantastic story.

5 Star review of I'm Snow Into You by Brenda Rothert

From the first chapter I was invested in grumpy police chief Ryan (aka Grady) and Avon’s story. When I heard that it was set in a small town called Sven’s Beard, Minnesota (I just love the name) I knew I was in for an entertaining journey, and I was not wrong.

When Avon arrives in Sven’s Beard to claim an inheritance from an uncle, she never knew existed she is unprepared for how the small town and it’s quirky inhabitants will quickly change her life.

The sparks fly between Grady and Avon and not always in a good way. She struggles with the employees of the newspaper she has inherited and is shocked when she cannot arrange a quick sale. Now forced to stay for at least a month she will have to do everything in her power to increase the paper’s circulation thereby increasing its saleability.

However as she becomes drawn into the people and the town, Avon realises that there is more to learn about her family. She finds relatives she never knew existed and friendships and love that will change the course of her life.

Investigating a story will put her in danger and it will be up to Grady to protect her. Can these two work together to solve the mystery and in doing so find love and happiness? One click and find out.

From the moment I picked I’m Snow Into You up i knew I reading something very special. I was drawn into Avon and
grumpy police chief Ryan aka Grady’s story and there was no putting down until I had read the final line.
Avon has arrived in Sven’s Beard because her estranged uncle has left her the local newspaper. The idea is to arrive in town get the newspaper sold and get back to California as quick as she can what she didn’t expect was to fall in love with this small town and it’s quirky residents…..
From the moment Grady and Avon met sparks fly and not in a good way but as she opens up and makes friends as well as reconnecting with an aunt and a cousin she never knew she had she realises there is more to this small town and definitely more to Grady than he is letting anyone see. So what does the future hold for this couple and will Avon sell the local newspaper and possibly destroy the livelihoods of some of the residents…one click to find out.
This book has all the feels, I smiled, I giggled, I swooned and I held my breath but what took this book to another level was the twists and turns I didn’t see coming when danger reared it’s ugly head. I fell hard and fast for the grumpy police chief and I adored the woman who brought light back into his life and now I can’t wait for what’s to come next from Sven’s Beard.

Oh, my gosh, I'm hooked! Author Brenda Rothert has a total winner with I'M SNOW INTO YOU, the first book in her new Sven's Beard series. This book made me feel all the best ways, and left me wanting more, which, for me, is the mark of a really good read.

It's been a while since I've read two characters seemingly more opposite than Grady and Avon. Oil and water, hot and cold, yin and yang...yep, these two are made for each other and they don't even know it. I had the best time watching their story unfold, and with it the growth on each of their parts that made their story even more poignant and enjoyable. And Sven's Beard is a veritable smorgasbord of lovable characters, ones that you only want to see more of, making it one of my favorite fictional towns lately.

I've been a fan of Brenda's books for many years, and I'm going to say that I'M SNOW INTO YOU is absolutely one of my favorites. It's an easy read, because I loved the characters, the story, the town, all of it. Once I began, I didn't want to stop, because I was enjoying myself so much. Whether you've read Brenda's books through the years, or she's a new-to-you author, you're going to want to pick up a copy for yourself. I'm telling you, you're going to love it. ❤️

What can I say? I've only read Hockey Romances by Brenda Rothert but I thought, given her amazing writing with those, I'd take a dip into her small town romance with I'm Snow Into You, which was just released on the 9th May.

I frequently share Instagram stories for a 5-star book, but I just wanted to take the time to write a quick Good Reads review about this book because Sven's Beard and the people in it are going to capture your heart!

Avon unexpectedly inherits a small newspaper from her uncle and makes the move to Sven's Beard, Minnesota, where she encounters the super hot, bearded, grouchy lumberjack Police Chief Grady.
I don't want to give any spoilers away, but I will say that their chemistry is off the scales hot! And I'd want to climb Grady like a tree if he was in front of me!

I can't begin to tell you how enjoyable this was. I read it in one sitting, and the fantastic thing about Sven's Beard? There's so many more potential leading characters. I know book 2 is already planned for release (early August) with Grady's sister Shea and a retired hockey player, and I'm on countdown for it.

This has been one of my favourite books this year, and I recommend that you read it as soon as you can. It's absolutely brilliant, and I loved every page!
I'm Snow Into Sven's Beard and hope this is going to be a long-running series

Avon finds herself in Sven Beard, Minnesota after her Uncle leaves her a newspaper. She didn't even know she had an Uncle so there are all sorts of revelations for her when she gets to town. She meets the grump Sheriff, Grady, and their first interaction isn't exactly stellar. Both of them seem to rub the other one the wrong way. She was just as much at fault for their interactions going sideways as he was. Her plan is to sell the paper and go back home to San Diego. When there isn't a buyer readily available for the paper, she finds herself having to stick it out and run the paper. Her employees seem loyal, but they (especially Bess) don't sugarcoat all of her responsibilities to her. She has to figure things out quickly or she will find herself upside down financially. When she finds out that Grady has had his own sad history, she finds herself trying to get him to smile. Their story was entertaining and I did enjoy it. I just wanted a bit more of them together and less of the whole town scandal being the main point.

I thoroughly enjoyed Mr. Right Now, the first book in Brenda Rothert’s new series set in Sven’s Beard Minnesota. I have to admit the town was a character in this story as much as the people and the people were quirky to say the least. Avon arrives from San Diego as she inherited something from an uncle she didn’t even know existed and while she was dreaming about what she’d do with her inheritance, the hard truth was she inherited the town’s newspaper and the building it was housed in. While the attorney looks for a buyer, Avon must step into the role of editor in chief and soon begins to appreciate the people, the town, and finds out way more about the family still living there that she never knew about. She also butts heads with Grady the police chief from the moment she arrived. This fish out of water story was heartwarming, sweet, and a bit suspenseful. A delightful small town romance with a bit of a twist, I loved Mr. Right Now.

What a cute, amazing story! Grumpy guy, sweet but strong woman, some mystery in the background, perfect setting for tail of two hearts! 5 stars for this one!
Avon is in Minnesota to see what her uncle left her, she didn't realize how cold and snowy it would be there and certainly isn't dressed for the weather, when she runs into the sheriff, Grady, who helps her out with where she's going, and lets loose the comment that she isn't dressed appropriately! This first meeting sets the tone for their interactions, until his past memories of love lost, alter his need to protect her at all costs. Their banter back and forth will make you laugh, and feel her pain at times!
Brenda did a great job writing each character and giving us their back story! You will love them! Don't miss out on this one!

I'm Snow Into You introduces us to the community of Sven's Beard, a grumpy police chief, and a fish-out-of-water newspaper owner. Avon shows up in town to collect an inheritance she didn't expect and finds way more than she bargained for. Ryan Grady is the police chief and he is prepared to keep his distance from the red-haired tourist. Ms. Rothert gave us a great, heartwarming read with these two.

Both Avon and Grady have wounds that appear to have healed but have definitely left scars. Their interactions are fun and it was entertaining to see them evolve from slightly antagonistic to friends and potentially more. Add in personal growth, an intrigue element, and a fantastic secondary cast amongst the town of Sven's Beard and you really have a book that was a joy to spend time with.

This was a well-written read and I really hope we get to see more of this community soon!

Fantastic! I love to read books by Brenda Rothert. I'm so in love with this story. This story is about Avon and Ryan. Ryan is the chief of police in Sven's Beard and a confirmed bachelor. While Avon came into town about an inheritance from an uncle she didn't know. When Avon met Ryan the police chief, she thought he was a big, grumpy man. Their interaction through the book made me laugh at times. You never could tell what was going to come out of Avon’s mouth. I loved their banter between them. This book is a slow burner but really enjoyed this story 😍
I have read alot of books by Brenda Rothert and they never fail to disappoint and this book is no exception.
Avon is from San Diego, she visits minniesota to go for a reading of a will as her uncle has passed.  Not dressed for the weather and not realising how cold and snowey it is, she runs into the town sheriff  brooding, grumpy Ryan Grady who makes it clear she looks like a tourist by the way she is dressed.
First impressions don't go well, they are so different but can they get along?
This book made me laugh with the banter between them and the relationship that grows.
I think I am going to love this new series, I could not put it down.
Ready for book two. ❤️

What a sweet romance from Brenda Rothert, completely entertaining and lovable.
Avon is called to Sven's Beard, Minnesota (yes this is real) about an inheritance. But from whom? She has no relatives!
Grady is the chief of police in Sven's Beard and a confirmed bachelor. He doesn't have time for Avon and her pesky questions. He finds himself drawn to the beautiful California girl but he has a cold case to solve and she isn't staying in this frozen tundra of a town.
It's comical how these two dance around each other. They are both searching for answers and so they keep finding themselves being thrown together.

I absolutely adored this story. Avon inherits a small town newspaper from an uncle she never knew about. She starts trying to run it while she is looking for a buyer but of course along the way she falls in love with the town. (and maybe the hunky police chief, too!)

“I’d been burned by love in the past. But my lumberjack police chief with a soft side was one in a million. He was worth the risk.”

There was a touch of suspense, a little danger, a drug lord, and a police chase to keep things exciting. And I really loved all the fun, quirky characters in Sven’s Beard including Floki, the elk!

First, this is a new series and totally different than what I am used to reading by Brenda however, I was not disappointed. While I love her hockey books, the grumpy police chief who wins stars.

Avon arrives in Sven's Beard to claim an inheritance from an uncle she didn't know. Along the way she meets plenty of people and finds out she has other family members. One she keeps running into is Grady, the lumberjack-looking grumpy police chief. While she swears she's only around for a few days, will Avon really sell the newspaper she inherited and give up on all things in Sven's Beard?

Definitely a slow burn with some wonderful characters. Looking forward to more in this series

I’m Snow Into You by Brenda Rothert is one of the best books I’ve read in ages!

Rothert delivers all the fun, while mixing in both suspense and romance.

You’ll be believing in Big Foot and trying figure out “who dove it” all at the same time.

Avon & Grady are incredible!!

Avon is thrown into a small town world she knows nothing about.

And Grady is trying to protect the town and is definitely weary of this newcomer and her intentions.

This is one book I’ll not only be recommending to my friends, but will be reading again myself!

A new series by Brenda Rothert and I just absolutely loved it!! A little town in very cold Sven’s Beard, Minnesota is the setting for a fun story that involves a very big, very grumpy Chief of Police, a California girl that isn’t quite sure what to do in/with her new surroundings, and a small town that’s filled with a bunch of characters. It had lots of laughs, lots of bickering between Chief Grady & Avon (our Californian transplant), which led to lots of fun and tons of heat. There was also mystery and intrigue, and I just loved it! And I can’t wait for the next one!!

I’m Snow into You

I absolutely love this story. A young woman with no family left that she is aware of, finds out she has an uncle who left her something in his passing. Suddenly she finds out that she has a family that she has not seen or been aware of her entire life. This story is about coming to terms with news of why she was never informed about her family, and what happened, and what she has potential for in her future. Beautiful story about opening up your heart, mind, and soul to all those around you.❤️

This book has potential but was just kind of mid.

Mid chemistry, mid plot lines, mid emotional connection, mid spicy scenes.

There was nothing terrible about, but there was nothing fantastic about it either. I began skimming large chunks waiting for something to happen.

Can romance come out of inheriting a newspaper in a small snowy town? You will not be able to put this book down. Can two people who are different in so many ways can fall in love? They both have tragedies happen in their lives. Well they be able to be together? Definitely read this book to find out! It is an AMAZING read. I couldn’t put this book down. Just like every book I’ve ever read from Brenda Rothert. I was hooked from the first page.

I'm snow in love with this book!
There's everything in here! A grumpy sexy small town police chief. A fish-out-of-water, big city West Coast girl in an extremely small town to read the will of her uncle (that she never knew a she had). And a whole cast of seriously quirky small town characters.
Avon is tasked with taking over Uncle Pete's small town newspaper until she can find a buyer. When she uncovers something she never should have, things get dicey and tense.
This was so great! You'll be feeling so warm and fuzzy by the end that you won't be able to stop smiling! Let it snow!
Love it!

I absolutely loved I'm Snow Into You, the first book in a brand new series.

It has everything I look for in a book, great characters who are a little bit quirky and also sweet, a little bit of humor and a great story. Grady and Avon are a great match and there is enough surprises and action to keep the pages flying by.

The fictional small town of Sven’s Beard, Minnesota, is going to be a great place to explore in stories to come
