I was born in London England in 1953 that makes me a baby boomer I think. On emerging into the big wide world I enjoyed life thoroughly, my two sisters and I played on the Woolwich Ferry, forever crossing backwards and forwards over the Thames and then, when we got bored with that, we had races in the foot tunnel under the Thames. It’s amazing what can keep a small boy happy.

Dad ran a market stall in Woolwich’s Beresford Square selling anything and everything. He was a natural Cockney salesman with all the patter that goes with it but when he was told to give it up or die from the cold, we packed up shop and migrated to Australia. Australia was great fun for a small boy from London, with snakes and kangaroos in the paddocks, unlimited sunsh

So something to think about think outside the square and I haven't even began to ask about Bigfoot Littlefoot and Sargent Elizabeth West! actually she is a nice girl all the same they are a threesome! What about Jack Hamma and Kashmere now I do like Kashmere! (less)

I also embellish the characters and combine them, that is I make two or three people I have met into one person. There is a character in Bigfoot and the Deaht in the Sydney Opera House who is dying of skin cancer he has 6 weeks or 6 months to live and I met the real person and he told me his story. I guess in my last business I was a kind of bar man and people told me their life history, but I still meet people and get all sorts of information from them. I listen, I record it all in my brain and file it all away for later. Sometimes a character emerges after being in my brain for 20 or 30 years!

Maeketing my Books wasn't Supposed to be Like this.

So we decided to sell my books at Woolmers Maker's Market (Tasmania) before Christmas - We got copies of my books sent from America, we bought a fold up table, directors chairs, a tent, display stands and Sue made a table cloth. The weather had been sunny in the mid twenties for a month, beautiful weather in fact. We put up the tent as a practice run, it was like trying to get a newly born horse t Read more of this blog post »
