Hello, Goodreads people!
I'm an independent author based out of Nashville, TN. I write about young people with issues. It is my belief that everyone deserves to be happy, no matter who you are or what you believe.
I'm best known for my coming of age novel, Small Circles. You can find it through most online distributors, including Amazon, iBooks, and B&N.com. If you like to read about teenage drama, my books are your holy grail.
You also might know me by my Bethyl fan-fiction from The Walking Dead. You can find it on AO3 under my username: rednecksaints.
Currently working on my first fantasy series!
Happy reading! xx

Sometimes I feel odd for saying this, but I like to think that I don't suffer from writer's block that often. The reason being that if I'm struggling with a particular part of a story, I usually step away from it all together and end up tossing it. My personal option is that the words should flow effortlessly. If they aren't, they're probably not meant to be there. The right story will come to you out of no where, and you'll have to rush to your computer or your notepad to jot it all down. It's a rush, but totally fulfilling when it happens. (less)

I always thought it was cool that I could design my own ending to stories that I hadn't been satisfied with. I'd take my own experiences and create new ones on paper. Imagination can give you so much power, and it makes you feel invincible.(less)

“I never knew the difference between loving someone and being in love,” he began. “I don’t know why, because now it seems so obvious. I mean, it’s in the name: in love. When you love someone that just means you care; but when you’re in love, that means you’re a part of it.” He scanned the audience and landed on Paxton and Jade holding hands in the third row. “The feeling consumes you,” he continued. “And when you’re surrounded by that want and that need to make that other person happy, you can’t see anything else. You’re blind to all of the hate and the hurt that’s waiting on the outside. None of it matters, because in here – in love – nothing hurts.” Larson watched as a drop of his own tears fell onto the surface in front of him. “I don’t care if I’m blind for the rest of my life. I loved Owen. I’m in love with him. And even though he’s gone, I’ll never leave this place we made.”
Megan Duke, Small Circles

“I'm going to turn my life around. Make a complete three sixty."
"Don't you mean one eighty?" he corrected. "If you do that, you'll end up right back where you started."
"Maybe. But at least I'll have a chance of coming out of it a different person - a better version of me.”
Megan Duke, Three Sixty: A Companion to Small Circles

“Just before folding up the piece of paper

SMALL CIRCLES
she’d used to write her message, she said, “Even when it feels like the world is ending around us, clocks still move, and hearts still beat. We run in circles – small repetitive circles that define our lives. Where mine ends, yours begins. And we will never separate, because we are one story.” She looked out into the crowd and met Larson’s eyes. “All four of us. Forever.”
Megan Duke, Small Circles

“We sat in silence for a while. I gazed through the window at the night sky, wondering idly at all that space, all that blackness, all that nothing, and as I sat there looking up at the emptiness I began thinking about the creek, the hills, the woods, the water... how everything goes around and around and never really changes. How life recycles everything it uses. How the end product of one process becomes the starting point of another, how each generation of living things depends on the chemicals released by the generations that have proceeded it... I don't know why I was thinking about it. It just seemed to occur to me.”
Kevin Brooks, Lucas

“Books are more real when you read them outside.”
Maggie Stiefvater, Shiver

“You don’t forget the face of the person who was your last hope.”
Suzanne Collins, The Hunger Games

“It does not do to dwell on dreams and forget to live.”
J.K. Rowling, Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone

“It matters not what someone is born, but what they grow to be.”
J.K. Rowling, Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire
