Samantha Cohoe writes historically-inspired young adult fantasy. She was raised in San Luis Obispo, California, where she enjoyed an idyllic childhood of beach trips, omnivorous reading, and writing stories brimming with adverbs. She currently lives in Denver with her family and divides her time among teaching Latin, mothering, writing, reading, and deleting adverbs. A Golden Fury is her debut novel.

Samantha Cohoe Hi! I hope you enjoy it! A GOLDEN FURY is a standalone. My 2nd book, BRIGHT RUINED THINGS, is unrelated, and also a standalone.

I'm also reading some of the stories from Ted Chiang's EXHALATION here and there. For whatever reason, iut's easier for me to read a 400 page novel than a single short story, but Chiang is enough of a genius that I make myself do it and never regret it. (less)

Unmistakably Elena Ferrante but missing some key elements of the Neapolitan novels that made them delightful to read. This was a third of the length but twice as hard to get through.
