January 21, 2017. Each time I passed by this image in my collection, I found myself pausing and thinking more about this lady....her age, her reasons for marching, the determination and sincerity in your expression. She and the lady behind her appear solemn and determinded and were representative of many of the more than sixty thousand who marched in Atlanta the day after our latest president was sworn-into office.
Being 'sent to the Tower' is a phrase used to mean being imprisoned - after the famous prison, the Tower of London, however many did not survive so it was a terrible and frightening prospect to be 'sent to the Tower'. From Kings and Queens to the Kray Twins all sorts of people have been imprisoned there and you can read a fascinating list of people on Wkipedia en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_prisoners_of_the_Tower_of_L...
Nowadays people from all over the world go to the Tower voluntarily!
Thank you for taking the time to visit, comment, fave or invite. I really appreciate them all.

Marquise de Merteuil: "When I came out into society I was 15. I already knew that the role I was condemned to, namely to keep quiet and do what I was told, gave me the perfect opportunity to listen and observe. Not to what people told me, which naturally was of no interest, but to whatever it was they were trying to hide. I practiced detachment. I learned how to look cheerful while under the table I stuck a fork into the back of my hand. I became a virtuoso of deceit. It wasn't pleasure I was after, it was knowledge. I consulted the strictest moralists to learn how to appear, philosophers to find out what to think, and novelists to see what I could get away with, and in the end, I distilled everything to one wonderfully simple principle: win or die." Another early morning start out at Pitt Street Mall Sydney... it was cold and wet. This guy caught my eye and I quite like the result!
During spring and summer season, young boys and girls perform with puppets combined with regular drama in the folk theatre in the old part of Bukhara. A photograph of the smiling faces of the dramatis personae!
Ignoring the white rabbit, Alice took a different turn and followed the pink bear instead. She ended up in a Rydenesque Tea Party eating Yams.

Surrealist Plate: by artist Mark Ryden
People felt themselves watching her even before they knew that there was anything different about her.
Her eyes made a person think that she heard things that no one else had ever heard, that she knew things no one had ever guessed before.
Her eyes were those of someone who has no fear of anything,
who believes that reality will move if you just give it a push.
