A gothic horror film in which Fred Sanders loses his wife Laura and cannot cope with her passing. The dying Laura whispers to him that she will come back to him. After hears her again when he is in the tomb by her coffin, he begins to seek out those who communicate with spirits and the afterlife, but gradually discovers that they are all charlatans. Then he meets a man who calls himself Doctor Death, and suddenly the opportunity to meet Laura is within reach. But nothing's free... A thrilling tale of murder, dark magic and soul-shifting with nice visuals, plenty of blood and gore, but severed heads. For the solid ending, I'll raise 3* to 4*. I think the rating here is too low, but on IMDb is accurate. Maybe it depends on the print, the digitally restored one is flawless. For fans of older horror and proper ghost stories.
