- After many years of absence Annabelle Dalmasio has come back to her home town Albi with her 10 years old daughter Pauline.She is the new female police commissioner and the first black female commissioner of Albi.Her colleague, the police inspector Marc Lemaire, doesn't agree with her promotion and the first moments together are quite tense.The police office has received the notice of a murder.An old farmer, Robert Tixier, has been been found dead firmly fixed to his tractor.Somebody wrote with a knife the words "Libro vitae" in his chest.A neighbor says that the this old man had a rifle and was practicing shooting.In a barn Marc and Annabelle the picture of a woman with holes of bullets.On the market of Albi Marc meets Lea who says him that the woman in the picture is Katia Pelissier.They arrive at the stand of Katia who tries to escape through the market, but she is captured.She explains then that she is an organic producer and had troubles with the old farmer.Some hours later a social worker Martha Rivera has been found dead in her office: somebody cut her throat and let the words "Libro vitae" like in the case of Norbert Tixier.
