Synopsis

When Dr. Janet Hartigan (Parker) agrees to look after her injured former professor (Quaid), little does she know she will soon have to contend with his clumsy affections, the attitude of his Young Republican daughter (Page), and the sudden arrival of Lawrence's good-for-nothing adopted brother (Thomas Haden Church).
