Spinning Jungle

"Spinning Jungle" is the main stage theme of Wild World from Kirby: Triple Deluxe. It was composed by Hirokazu Ando.[1]
Composition[edit]
"Spinning Jungle" is a lively piece in C Lydian dominant mode and 4/4. Its percussive intro sets the tone with an augmented fourth. The string melody begins with rapid stepwise movement up from C to G played three times from different beats, followed by a whirling descent in a pattern of a quaver and two semiquavers. After returning with a brief rising passage, the first part of the melody repeats in Lydian dominant D, followed by a slower resolving portion. The second section continues in D major. Based on the original motif and developing into elements of "Spring Smash Factory", rising intonations lead to a high brass D that eventually ends quite similarly to "Green Greens". After this comes to a triumphant end, a transitional iteration of the melody in Lydian dominant B-flat joins, putting the original tonic at a tone away from each. The track then loops from the intro.
Trivia[edit]
- This track shares its melody with the leitmotif of "VS. Star Dream" from Kirby: Planet Robobot. Composer Hirokazu Ando acknowledged the similarity, and admitted he only realized it after finishing the theme, and that was simply a coincidence.[2]
