“ | Magolor wants one more shot at victory. Can you beat him in an EX race? | ” | — Magolor Race EX Caption |
Magolor Race EX is the final stage of Last Land in New Challenge Stages, unlocked after completing Magolor Race 3. It pits Kirby against Magolor in a race to the finish, allowing Kirby to use any of the Copy Abilities available in New Challenge Stages. The window of time to earn a Platinum Medal is 1:00 or lower.
Layout[edit]
The stage consists of one long unbroken chamber. Notably, it consists of elements from the first three Magolor Race stages, but stitched together, with original sections being occasionally thrown in. Magolor now emits a dark red magical glow, signifying his increased power and speed for this final challenge.
The race begins with Magolor once again barraging Kirby with magic blasts as he heads up toward some coins. From there, Magolor summons in some enemies ahead of a ledge and a stone block barrier. A Bomb Block barrier in the floor needs to be broken to progress downward to a conveyor belt with more bomb block barriers along it. Magolor summons some Volttzos up ahead at a point where Kirby needs to jump up and into a wider open area with conveyor belt floors. Here, he has to dodge more enemies as he moves forward. From there, Kirby will have to run across a crumbling bridge as more magic missiles head his way. Magolor summons more enemies and larger magic blasts as the path leads upward over precarious platforms. From there, it dips down past more bomb block barriers in the floor. The path then straightens, giving Magolor the opportunity to try and trap Kirby with a giant magic blast, but a bomb block barrier in the floor can be opened to provide some shelter. From there, it's just a few more jumps along conveyor belts and lines of coins to reach the finish line, as Kirby dodges one more attack from Magolor.

Tips[edit]
There are a few things to keep in mind when aiming for Platinum on this stage, though it should be noted that the strategies listed here are by no means the only ones that will do the job:
- Generally speaking, an ideal race will largely ignore Magolor, as he is little more than a hazard. However, he does force Kirby to keep a good pace, since Magolor speeds up when he falls behind and can potentially steal a race if Kirby trips up at the end, even if previous sections were done flawlessly.
- Magolor can steal coins that he flies over. As such, Kirby will need to make sure he leaves none behind.
- The ability that is chosen for Kirby will greatly affect the tactics needed to confront each obstacle on this track. All of them are capable of earning a Platinum, though which one should be used is up to the player's preference.
Guide[edit]
- "This final race with Magolor is so hard, you might think he's unbeatable!"
- "But all of the Copy Abilities are yours to choose from. Help yourself!"
- "This stage doesn't get the EX title for nothing. It's not just EXtra, it's EXtreme!"
Pro Tips[edit]
- "Have you tried Sword's Sword Spin? How about Smash's Hammer Spin?"
- "Try Spark's Charge Power as you dash, or strike with Wing's Condor Head."
- "Each ability you win with gets a medal on the Copy Ability selection screen."
- "A Platinum Trophy awaits masters of these stages. There's one more trophy out there too. I wonder how you earn it!"
Music[edit]
In addition to "Interdimensional Traveler", there is a chance that "Ultra-Super Boss Battle" from Kirby's Return to Dream Land will play instead. The screen before the race itself plays "Dangerous Dinner" from the same game.
