Reason: Fundamentally the same. See talk page for more information.

A Hazard is any obstacle within a stage that either directly or indirectly harms or impedes Kirby or another playable character and cannot be classified as an enemy, a device, or part of the static terrain. Hazards may also affect enemies or other non-playable characters, but this is not a strict requirement to classify something as a hazard. Hazards serve primarily to add another element of challenge to gameplay and, when not meant to be avoided entirely, often require a certain set of techniques to overcome or take advantage of. Common examples of hazards in the Kirby series include spikes, crushers, and bottomless pits, but may also include non-damaging things such as wind and water currents (with water itself falling into a gray area and not considered a hazard for the purpose of this page). There are also a number of enemies that function more as stage hazards, such as Gordos, Squeaky Hammer Machines, and boulders, and those too will not be covered on this page.

List of hazards in the Kirby series[edit]

The following is a list of every distinct hazard throughout the Kirby series. The first table covers environmental hazards that span numerous games and may have a large number of variants, while the second will detail more specific hazards that belong to relatively few games, if not appearing in only one game. Note that hazards which appear only in Sub-Games will not be listed here:

Entering this region typically defeats Kirby immediately, but other games may be more forgiving, returning Kirby to the field of play while imposing some lighter penalty.

Kirby's Pinball Land Kirby's Extra Epic Yarn Kirby's Dream Course, Kirby's Block Ball, Kirby's Toy Box, Kirby Tilt 'n' Tumble, Kirby Air Ride, Kirby: Canvas Curse, Kirby's Epic Yarn, Kirby Mass Attack, Dedede's Drum Dash Deluxe, Kirby and the Rainbow Curse An object (usually round, bar-shaped, or triangular) that violently pushes Kirby away if he touches it, though usually without dealing him damage. This is not to be confused with hazards that momentarily flatten Kirby, like the Squeaky Hammer Machines in the Kirby Fighters games. The only games where crushers are not immediately fatal are Kirby's Epic Yarn, Kirby's Extra Epic Yarn, and Kirby and the Forgotten Land.
KRtDLD Dangerous Dinner Stage 1 screenshot 01.png

In some games, Kirby can ignore lava using Copy Abilities like Wheel and Water. In others, geysers of lava will erupt from lava beds to offer an additional obstacle. Not to be confused with Fire Blocks, which serve a similar purpose but can be destroyed. Also does not count instances of lava that are purely decorational, such as the Volcano region in the Kirby Clash games.
Objects that do not quite resemble lava but have the same effect (such as the fire boxes in Kirby Super Star) also fall under this category.
