This is a pointless article. There is nothing to suggest that the sun and the moon are different in Middle Earth. What next? Clouds (Middle-earth)? Much of the article consists of recording names given to the sun or moon, and documenting various references to the sun and moon. At the time of the first nomination, it was suggested that more references could be found for the article. A decade later, this clearly hasn't happened. This has never been an encyclopedia article and never will be. Jack Upland (talk) 00:17, 20 November 2019 (UTC)

- Delete. Fails WP:NPLOT, WP:NFICTION, WP:GNG. Also contains a lot of possible WP:OR. Serious likely case of WP:FANCRUFT. --Piotr Konieczny aka Prokonsul Piotrus| reply here 05:05, 20 November 2019 (UTC)
- Delete per nom. Background material that has little effect on anything. If memory serves, the light from the first appearance of the Moon awoke the Elves, but I think that's about it. Clarityfiend (talk) 09:46, 20 November 2019 (UTC)
- Don't forget: the sun rose and set every day. Don't you think that's significant?--Jack Upland (talk) 09:48, 20 November 2019 (UTC)

- Delete Background elements do not need to have their own articles. Also, it is doubtful that this would be a plausible redirect page. ―Susmuffin Talk 04:12, 21 November 2019 (UTC)
- Delete. Per Nom., it is not known what message the reader gets from this pointless article. Alex-h (talk) 15:54, 24 November 2019 (UTC)
- Redirect to Cosmology of Tolkien's legendarium. Goustien (talk) 03:41, 25 November 2019 (UTC)
- Delete this is way too much analysis to be ever justified in a full range encyclopedia. This would be justified in an online version of the Tolkien Encyclopedia, but not here.John Pack Lambert (talk) 15:34, 26 November 2019 (UTC)
