My first article (this is funny & kind of amazing) & The Progress of Wikipedia

[edit]

Way back in August of 2003, when Wikipedia was still a baby really, I submitted my first article, it for a Zelda game for Game Boy Color, The Legend of Zelda: Oracle of Seasons and Oracle of Ages. I encourage you check out what it looks like now for comparison's sake -- it's actually now a featured article! Now, if you check out the history of that article, the very first version of it, which I made as an IP because I didn't have an account yet, well, you'll probably laugh - which is okay! I've copied it below so you don't have to dig it up. Anyway, when I looked at it today, I did find it hilarious... that was my attempt at making something "serious-sounding"... the formatting, the words, it speaks for itself I guess. It shows you how far Wikipedia has come! (And also how far I have come, too, I guess... :) ).

Here's a copy of the original version of that article... no, there was no formatting. This was it.

PUBLISHER: Nintendo DEVELOPER: Nintendo & Capcom RELEASE DATE: May 2001 (United States) GAME CONSOLE: Nintendo Game Boy Color & Game Boy Advance GENRE: Adventure FORMAT: Cartridge

INTRODUCTION The Legend of Zelda: Oracle of Seasons is an audiovisual game ("video game", "electronic game") published by Nintendo and developed by Nintendo in conjunction with Capcom. Although the game was originally released for use on the Nintendo Game Boy Color, it exhibits special features when used on a Nintendo Game Boy Advance. (Among these include additional rings and items) This game is the sister-product of The Legned Of Zelda: Oracle Of Ages, which was released at the same time. These two games had the ability to link with one another either through passwords or via cable. A person could complete one game, and then transfer his or her progress to the other game using one of these methods.

TIMELINE PLACEMENT Although the chronological order of all Legend of Zelda games is controversial and not official, it is generally accepted that The Legend of Zelda: Oracle Of Seasons occured after The Legned of Zelda: A Link to the Past and before The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening.

STORYLINE (spoiler-free) The protagonist of the Legend Of Zelda series (with the notable execption of The Legned of Zelda: Zelda's Advenutre), Link, is transported from his home world, Hyrule, to another world, Holodrum. Although the exact method of which this happened is uncertain, it is believed that the godesses (Nayru, Din, and Farore), sent Link to Holodrum. When Link arrives here, he meets a women named Din (unrealted to the goddess Din), who exhibits exceptional prowess in dancing. Link learns that Din is the Oracle of Seaons (that is, she keeps the the seasons of Holodrum in order). She is soon kidnapped by General Onox, who wished to cause choas in Holodrum by adversly altering the seasons. It is Link's job to save Din and restore orderliness to Holodrum.
