Global Forest Decimal Classification

[edit]

The old Forest Decimal Classification (FDC) has been renamed as the Global Forest Decimal Classification (GFDC) as its updated new version and in anticipation with collaboration with the Global Forest Information Service (GFIS) consortium.

The new edition has been prepared by the IUFRO Working Party 6.03.03 Global Forest Decimal Classification.

Relation to UDC

[edit]

GFDC is a more detailed subdivision for UDC class 630 Forestry. The editorial group of the current version have collaborated with the UDC consortium to minimize any differences between the UDC:630 and GFDC subdivisions.
