- Motivation
At the moment the only way to indicate the abbreviation for an author's name is aliases, but I think we need an appropriate property. WikiProject Books has more than 50 participants and couldn't be pinged. Please post on the WikiProject's talk page instead. Epìdosis 11:18, 25 July 2016 (UTC)
- Discussion
- Comment we currently have botanist author abbreviation (P428) (external identifier), author citation (zoology) (P835) (string), and short name (P1813) (monolingual text). Thryduulf (talk) 13:41, 25 July 2016 (UTC)
- botanist author abbreviation (P428) and author citation (zoology) (P835) are too specific. We can consider short name (P1813), maybe it could be OK. --Epìdosis 14:47, 25 July 2016 (UTC)
I have controlled the use of short name (P1813) and I think it's OK. If there aren't objections, I can close this proposal in two days. Thank you @Thryduulf:, --Epìdosis 14:58, 25 July 2016 (UTC)
