Talk:Tag:attraction=alpine coaster
= Correct sport=* value?
The page currently suggests tagging with sport=bobsleigh - but this is defined as "A winter sport in which teams of two or four make timed runs down narrow, twisting, banked, iced tracks in a gravity-powered sled". Or the alternative is sport=toboggan - this seems to also be mostly for winter sports, though in that case the page also mentions the possiblity of alpine coasters or summer tobaggans.
Can we confirm that this is really the same sport as tobagganing? The presence of rails seem to make a large difference, since steering is no longer required, no? --Jeisenbe (talk) 06:29, 1 September 2020 (UTC)
- You are sure this comment is on the right tag page? There is no suggesting of anything else.
- The part "These are attractions for everyone, but when it comes to a sport use sport=toboggan or sport=bobsleigh." should prevent confusion with sport because this is an attraction, a fun ride and has nothing to do with sport.

- Right, the text of the page, which you have quoted, suggests using either "sport=toboggan" or "sport=bobsleigh" with these features, which suggests that they are related to the sport of tobaggan or the sport of bobsleigh. The key sport=* is used to "identify one or more sports which can be played within or on some physical feature" as it says on the page for the key. --Jeisenbe (talk) 05:11, 6 September 2020 (UTC)
similar objects which fit the definition as well
There are other themepark attractions which also fit the definition but not the description, e.g. this one which is a roller coaster without tracks: https://commons.m.wikimedia.org/wiki/Category:Schweizer_Bobbahn_(Europa-Park)?uselang=de —Dieterdreist (talk) 17:20, 25 September 2020 (UTC)
