'Impulse' is a session exploring the range of a digital synthesizer that is designed to emulate the SID chip within the Commodore 64. Whether or not this emulation comes close to the original chip is not necessarily the point of the investigation, but rather, what possibilities are brought forward when these sounds and designs have been migrated into a DAW environment. The resultant session is a humming turbine engine, not heard necessarily, but felt through several resonant spaces inside of a metallic structure.
