Biography[]

Stephen Wilson is first seen on an assignment of watching heir Paul Hugo, the son of his boss, to figure the crimes he's entangled in. Joanna Eris is seen by Wilson, having been dating Hugo for a while. Wilson is shocked to witness Eris murder Hugo, and once Wilson follows Eris to Union Station and sees her murder another man, he's close to cornering her. However, hallucinating his daughter, he paternally obsesses over following her to watch over her and protect her like his own. He followed her across the country throughout her numerous following murders, watching her closely to cover up for her or step in at the first sight of danger. He finds out her father abandoned her when the two were homeless, becoming a misandrist, believing men to generally be selfish and cruel after being left to fend for herself. She soon helps in the airport a blind man with a lot of wealth named Alexander Leonard. Wilson is personally horrified she falls in love with him and eventually engages with him. Wanting her to keep away from men and have her all to himself, Wilson stalks the couple as they drive to their wedding at the chapel, sniping one of the tires out, causing the car to crash and kill Leonard. Eris, devastated and mourning the loss of her would-be husband, runs into the desert with Wilson in close pursuit. Gary, a drug-addicted pervert and misogynist, offers Eris a ride when her car breaks down. After drinking and playing darts at a bar, they go back to Gary's place, Wilson stalking them all the way there. Wilson is almost too lately to stop Gary from raping Eris after beating her unconscious and sedating her with heroin. Wilson subjects Gary with his own brand of beating to stop the attempted rape, but Eris is once again struck with loss when her unborn fetus dies from the brutality. Eris runs to Alaska, Wilson staying close by and watching as she works as a waitress at a diner. He eventually asks her out, and they drink together at nightfall, share sentiments and scars, and Eris reveals the wishes of her resting place. She then rebuffs him at the end, saying she doesn't have what he wants from her and should keep away from her. Eris is arrested the next day by her psychiatrist, Dr. Jeanne Brault, and a police squad she called. Stephen takes her away to his trailer to save her, but when she finds out he's been stalking her for as long as he knew her, she steals his own revolver and shoots him before running after she finds the gun contains blank rounds. As she drives in a car and he on a motorcycle, she hits a weak base of ice and her car breaks through in his weight and speed. Wilson pulls her out in time, but her wounds are too grave she starts to succumb to them. She then realizes he's her "angel" just before she dies, leaving him to cry over her corpse as he holds her.
