Abyss is the main antagonist of the crossover fighting game Marvel vs. Capcom 2: New Age of Heroes. It is a being that unleashed a wind that killed off most life on Earth.
Appearance[]
In it's first form, Abyss appears with a giant suit of black armor called "Armor of Erosion". Abyss wears two giant horns at the top in which he uses as projectiles.
In it's second form, Abyss appears as a green humanoid-shaped being capable of using it's arm as both a flamethrower and as a cannon.
In it's final form, Abyss is now a giant, demonic four-legged creature with acid dripping from it's mouth and has extremely sharp teeth.
Personality[]
Little is known about Abyss's personality, as it has no dialogue outside of grunts and the laugh of it's second form. However, it's motive is to return everything to the Sea of Genesis, akin to entropy incarnate, a monstrosity that sought to bring the world back to it's primordial state.
Biography[]
Abyss was a being sealed away in a underground temple in which it spent centuries in a slumber. Abyss was a being forgotten by time and believed to be nothing more than just a fairy tale. When woken, however, Abyss would unleash waves which mutates all sea life and winds that killed almost all life on Earth, animals and plants included.
Ruby Heart, a pirate, became involved in Abyss's awakening. Unable to stop it herself, she gathered a team of many heroes and villains from the Marvel and Capcom universes and teleported them to fight it on her airship. After Abyss's defeat, it's core destabilizes and explodes. During the ride back home on Ruby Heart's ship, she's seen looking at the now palm-sized core. She casts it off her ship and it sinks into the waters, due it being now useless.
